Trigun (Anime Review)

All right guys, so going back to my anime reviews again is actually one that I finishd back in 2020 and have mentioned a couple of times on here, Trigun. My brother actually had this series on DVD and that's how I watched it originally. The reason it's taken me this long to do a review of it is because I wanted to rewatch it just to familiarise myself with it better.  But, yeah this a series I really, really, really enjoyed the first time and I still really enjoy it. I first heard about this show from some people on YouTube and my brother already had it so I wanted to try it out myself. So I watched the whole thing in October 2020 and really liked it. Also, like always, this will have all the spoilers for the series so if you wanna see the series yourself, go watch it and then come back here. All right, so, the basic plot is that it's set in a desert wasteland where there's bounty hunters and loads of crimes all over the place. And, one of the most wanted people is a guy named Vash The Stampede who's said to be really dangerous, but as we later come to understand, there's a lot more to him and there's a ton of people after him. So the series centres around Vash going to one location to another doing whatever while two agents of an insurance society named Meryl and Milly keep running into him. And that's a very barebones version of the plot, but there's a lot more to it than that. So, immediately, the first thing I really enjoyed here was that it was extremely funny. The beginning of this series in particular is really comedic and I loved it. Vash himself made me laugh a lot. I thought he was hilarious. And the rest of the characters also had a lot of really funny moments too. And it was fun following these characters around, seeing the different situations they always landed themselves in. And it was a lot of fun seeing the different character dynamics and interactions between them. And so, the comedy and all that definitely carried a lot of the beginning of the series, but then, as we get more and more into it, it becomes so much more. We learn more about the characters, especially Vash himself and we learn to really feel for him. It's nice following him from the beginning of the series in a funny way, but then we begin to feel more and more sorry for him when we eventually begin to learn more about his past and learn things like how he's not a human and he's some plant creation thing who's over a hundred years old who values human life above everything and wants to preserve as much life as possible. And when we learn more and more about his backstory, it's really tragic. I remember thinking to myself the first time I watched it that the show became a lot more depressing than I thought it was gonna be. But that's good because it helps us care for these characters a lot more. And it makes it even better when we see things like Vash being serious and mature. I love it when he's funny too, but it's nice to see him have a very serious side to him too and most of that is due to his past that has to do with being created in space and having some friends there like a woman named Rem who taught him and his brother Knives about Earth and all that. And it's tragic seeing Knives see things like some people on the ship their on being bad and him only seeing people as horrible as well so he begins to make a plan to kill everyone there. And it makes you feel more and more sorry for Vash who's trying to preserve as much life as possible like I said and then to suddenly have this happen to him is really sad and it actually does pave the way to showing how cruel and awesome Knives is as a villain. And I like when we start getting more involved with Vash's story with that as well. When Knives keeps sending something bad to maybe kill Vash and he begins to suspect that everything bad that always happens is because of him and you do feel sorry for him. I think a good example of that is when Vash goes to some spaceship in the sky to meet some people but then some people there begin to die, especially one guy who was beginning to trust him and that just keeps going and going for the rest of the episodes. And we even get introduced to another important character near the start of the series named Wolfwood and I love a lot of the things with him too like his dynamic with Vash. They're really hilarious together and I love their relationship of acting like they don't like each other but still being good friends and relying on each other every once in a while. And I personally really like when Vash, Meryl, Wolfwood and Milly almost kinda make a team and I really like the relationship they all share. But even that begins to take some bad turns when eventually Wolfwood is killed and this begins to make the three of them even worse. And, yeah, this is what I meant when I said the show is a lot more sad and depressing than I thought it was gonna be. A lot of the show is a great time to watch with a lot of comedic moments, but, there's also a lot of moments like this sprinkled in throughout that also makes it pretty sad to watch. I remember being fairly depressed when I saw this for the first time and that just goes to show how much this series makes you feel for these characters. And I especially love the ending when Vash decides to kill Knives just to make all this stop and the actual final battle with the two of them is a really incredible one. I've mentioned it before about how I personally feel like the final episode of this show is one of the best ones in any anime I've seen and I still believe that, I think they did a great job with the fight between the two of them. Really, the series is just constantly entertaining the whole way through and I really enjoyed watching it. Even in some parts that aren't necessarily important like when Vash meets up with someone he once knew who's now trying to kill him or the tiny arc when they're all on a train that gets highjacked, even if they're not that substantial to the overall plot, they're still so entertaining and well made that I could watch this series over and over and not get tired of them. But even then, they do still help show the character's personalities like Vash's compasion to other people or his worry of never wanting to kill anyone. And, honestly, I think this is just a really underrated anime. I know a lot of people like it, but I don't think it's appreciated enough. It has a lot of great moments, characters you really like and even though it was made in the ninties, it's really aged great and, like I've been saying a lot recently, I feel like this is another great series to binge-watch and, as per usual, the dubbing in this is fantastic, especially with the main four. This was actually Johnny Yong Bosch's first voice acting job for an anime and he did a phenominal job as Vash here. Like always, whenever Bosch is in an anime, you know he's gonna be incredible and he absolutely is here. And others like Jeff Nimoy as Wolfwood, Dorothhy Elias as Meryl and Lia Sargent as Milly all do great jobs too. I just had a really great time with this series and I would go so far as to say it's in my top 15 anime's of all time. So, yeah, I would totally recommend this series. I had a great time with it the first time and rewatching it was still a lot of fun. And so, guys, those are my thoughts on Trigun. Thank you all for reading and please comment down below to tell me what you think.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness trailer

So guys, for the recent Super Bowl yesterday, we got a few new trailers that came from it and the biggest one for me was the one for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. I mentioned before how this was one of my most anticipated movies of this year and this trailer proved why that is. I mentioned how it looks like we could be getting a lot more new characters brought into the M.C.U thanks to this and it looks like we actually are getting them like I think we actually got Professor Xavier in this. And it looks like it's Patrick Stewart again, which is incredibly exciting and it looks like Wanda may turn evil in this briefly. And the visuals looks like they're taking what the first film started and making them even more insane. And the different indicators to what this film is going to be is really cool and I can't wait to see who else they bring in here. And so, here it is and I hope you all like this.
