Coco

And so, everyone, we've finally arrived at the latest Pixar movie and one of my most anticipated movies of last year. As I said, the reason it's this late is because it literally just arrived to where I live today, so I had to wait until now to do this review. But, now, I finally got to see it and here's my review. And, yes, this will have a non-spoiler part for the first half of the review, then I'll do a spoiler part with a warning. So don't worry, if you don't want it spoiled, that'll have a part for itself. And, yeah, after a kinda disappointing bump in the road for Pixar with Cars 3 that came out last year, this was such a huge step up. I was very surprised with how much I liked this because, before seeing it, I thought it was going to be really good and really emotional from what I was hearing from reviews. And, while it was definitely all that, there was a lot more to it than I ever imagined. This is one of the most emotional movies I've seen in a while. But, when you're talking about a Pixar movie, what do you really expect? It's not perfect though, but, a lot of this is just fantastic. But first, what's the story? It opens up with a back story of a Mexican man who loved music and even abandoned his family to pursue his dream. Then we see a young boy named Miguel who loves music and wants to grow up playing it, but his family forbids music and says he should do what they do and make shoes for a living. But, somewhere, he keeps going to a hideout that he made dedicated to a famous musician he's always looked up to named Ernesto de la Cruz. And, one day, when there's a music festival on, he decides he wants to join and use a guitar he made himself. But, when his family finds out, especially his grandmother, they say he can't. When he sees there's a guitar inside the building where Ernesto is buried, he decides to use it. But, as soon as he uses it for the first time, he teleports into the land of the dead. There, he meets the other members of his family who are all dead. Now, he has to find a way back before a time limit. And I'll stop right there. There's a lot more to the story than that, I promise. There is so much to talk about here and it's kinda hard to talk about this without the spoilers, but, I'll try. Obviously, as to be expected from Pixar, this animation is phenomenal. It's some of the best I've ever seen. Not the best. (For me, the best looking animated movie I've ever seen is Moana.) But, still. This is top-notch Pixar animation. The characters are also all really likeable. Miguel is the classic kind of character who learns about what family really is, but there's still more to him to make him seem unique. And the rest are all likeable. One of my favourite characters in the movie is Hector.

He's the main person who helps Miguel get back. Not only is he pretty funny, but he also adds a lot of heart to the movie I didn't expect at all. There's something that happens to him that really surprised me. And I liked that. And with the rest of the characters, there's not one that I thought was a waste of time, all of them were great and I thought the main villain was pretty intimidating. I obviously won't give away who the villain is. Probably the thing I loved the most about this movie was the heart of it. This is easily one of the most emotional Pixar movies ever. I'll save that much for the spoilers, but, yeah, a lot of this is really emotional. Especially the last 10-15 minutes. Now, I just want say something else here, this film was directed by Lee Unkrich, the director of Toy Story 3 and the co-director of Finding Nemo and Monsters Inc. And he really brings his a-game to this. This is one of the best directed animated movies I've seen in a while. By comparison, I'd say this is his second best behind Toy Story 3. And with him being one for the biggest heads at Pixar, he did a great job here. This is also a movie that's not all that fast. It's kinda slow paced. But that's good because it helps make the characters feel more interesting and helps make the story more engaging. Something else I really liked was the music and the songs. They're all centred around Mexican music with spectacular singing and a great score. Another thing I liked here, I liked how clever they used the title. It actually has a reason to be called Coco and I really liked it, especially, again the ending, which helped explain it. I also found myself getting really invested in these characters and their dilemmas. All that was really interesting and I enjoyed a lot of it. Also, I thought the Pizza Planet truck Easter Egg here was pretty funny. These Pixar movies always have a Pizza Planet truck in them and I really liked the one  here. And quick last thing I liked here, I thought the actually twist part, like the villain revealed was really surprising and I had no idea it was coming. Especially the scene that came right after that. Now, as far as any negatives, there's not a lot, but there are a few. Firstly, and probably the biggest, is that I found the story, while really well told, can seem kinda formulaic. Like, some of this stuff we see here, it reminded me a lot of other Disney and Pixar movies. Especially Brave and Moana. I'll get into that in the spoilers, but I thought the comparisons between them all were noticeable. Second, I thought the characters, while, again, I really like and I was interested in them, didn't have the most intriguing stories with them. I know I said I found their dilemmas interesting and I thought they had investing personalities, but, at points, it can feel like they're going through an arc that's been done before. I'm not saying that that's a bad thing, but, it can feel like the character's arcs are kinda going through a samey thing that we've done before. And last thing here isn't really a negative, I guess, it's just kind of a personal thing. When I was going into this movie, I was obviously super hyped for it. And I mean SUPER hyped. Just because it's another Pixar movie and I'm always excited for one of those even if the end result isn't fantastic. But, when walking out of this film, even though I really enjoyed it and really, really liked it, I didn't have the same love for it or appreciation for that I had for other animated movies I've seen lately, mainly Moana. But, I'm sure once I see it more times, I'll begin to develop the same appreciation. So, in conclusion, for the non-spoiler part of the review, I thought Coco was really fantastic. It's not totally perfect and I don't know if I'd put it in my top 5 Pixar movies, but it's still great to see Pixar represent this culture like this and that was great for me to see. Definitely see this if you're interested. As far as my top 10 movies of 2017, I'd put this between the Lego Batman Movie and Logan. And so, that's my non-spoiler review of Coco. Spoilers:
Okay, first, I want to talk about that big twist. Where it's revealed that Ernesto is actually the villain and that Hector is actually Miguel's great, great grandfather. That was the part that I didn't see coming and it really surprised me. And it was really touching. Especially the part where we see about how the dead actually stay dead forever with how if a person who's alive begins to forget you, you begin to disappear forever. And I really thought the ending with Coco remembering Hector and Miguel helping was really powerful and sad. That other part where I said this movie was starting to remind me of Moana was at the start where Miguel's family told him that music is forbidden and his grandmother destroyed the guitar he made. That reminded me a lot of that opening scene of Moana with Moana's dad forbidding her to go out onto the ocean. And, obviously, the fact that music is a passion he has, but, his family wants him to do something else. I also thought the scene where Miguel's family talked to him about family was really touching. That was a really beautiful ending. And then the actual ending with them having their celebration was really nice. I'd say, probably the funniest part was Ernesto's skeleton getting beaten the same way he was actually killed. That made me and the whole audience laugh. And, so everyone, that's really all the spoilers for Coco. The Lion Guard: Divide and Conquer

So finishing my reviews of the most Lion Guard reviews is the one I was most anticipating, Divide and Conquer. This is one I spoke about before on my list of episodes coming soon a while back. And, yeah, this episode is really good. I had a really good time with this and it's one of the better ones to come out in a while. And, again, as I always say, this will have all the spoilers, so, if you don't want it spoiled, see it and then read this. What's the story? Scar advises the hyenas and jackals to try something together. He's thinking of a plan to have the Guard spilt up to go after them on a mission. When they decide to try this, Kion thinks of an idea with Tamaa the Drango, if you remember him, he's the bird who could impersonate anyone. And so, Scar sends the Janja and the other hyenas to try to attack Rafiki while Rei Rei and her Jackals go after other animals. And this is where Tamaa comes in. While the Guard stops the hyenas, Tamaa stops the Jackals until they spot him and head back to fight the Guard. And this fight has some really great moments, but I get into that in a second. But, near the end Janja is about to give up on the fight until Scar appears in some fire and tells him to stop, but then Kion sees him for the first time. Watch.

Afterwards, right after they beat all of them, the spot where Scar was, there's a burnt piece of the ground in the shape of his right eye. For one thing, that whole part there is really cool. Obviously, Kion sorta feels like forgetting it at first because he doesn't know what's going on and it was only for a brief second he saw Scar, but it was still cool that he did see him after all this time. But that's not the only good thing about this episode. The interactions are really good and I really liked how the hyenas and jackals were sorta working off each other because they don't really like each other. So that whole part inside the volcano with them arguing was pretty fun. And, one of the things I liked about this the most was the ending fight scene. Even Rafiki joins the fight and he does the same kind of fighting moves he did in the first Lion King movie when he was fighting the hyenas. I really like call-backs like that. And I like seeing things like that. But, not only that, but also, I liked the different plans the Guard thinks of to do these fights. And it was nice to see Tamaa back after a while. I liked him here and I liked how he had more to do as well as him being a good guy the whole time here. But, I really, the thing I liked the absolute most here was that scene with Kion seeing Scar. Obviously, he doesn't know what it is and he's confused about it, but, him seeing him and then Rafiki going off to find out about it in the paintings could lead to a lot of great opportunities in the future. I really hope that they have a fight with all of them in the future. That would be really cool. There was also a funny line with Bunga as Fuli and Ono were fighting the jackals. And that was something else this episode has. There're a few funny moments here and I liked that. And even the song, while still not the best, is pretty cool. It's between the hyenas and jackals. Overall, I finished this episode pretty happy and couldn't wait to see what they're going to do with all this in the future. The Lion Guard: The Little Guy

So next up on these newer Lion Guard episode releases is another one of the smaller scale ones and probably the weakest of the most recent ones. Not the worst, but still. And, again, as I always say for Lion Guard reviews, this will have spoilers, so, if you want to see it, do and then read this. What's the story? The Guard see Makuu's crocodiles fighting and try to stop them, but realise that they're just training for real combat. There, they meet a tiny gecko named Hodari who's always looked up to the crocs and wants to be a part of their float. When they say he can't, obviously, the evil geckos from the Outlands sees this and tells Kiburi and his gang, the crocs who were banished to the Outlands after they tried to kill Simba. When they do, they pretend to let Hodari so he'll tell them secrets about the Guard and crocs. When they go into the Pride Lands, Hodari has already told them about the other crocodile's weakness and they begin to fight, but, he realises what he did was wrong, of course. But when the Guard arrive, they manage to get them away from them. And, afterwards, as you'd expect, Makuu lets Hodari in because he helped. Okay, so, not a ton to say about this one, this episode just sorta follows the typical Lion Guard episode formula. I'm not necessarily saying that as a bad thing, it's just really noticeable if you've watched the show for as long as I have. But, still, the actual character of Hodari isn't really anything that special. He actually reminds me a lot of Mtoto. And, by that, I mean Mtoto was a huge fan to the Guard and wanted to do whatever it took to be a part of it in a way and that's kinda like what this is with him. And also the fact that Beshte is his favourite out of all of the members. Beshte himself gets more things to do here. He's sorta like the main Guard character here. And I liked that. Again, sorry I can't say a whole lot here, but, when I watch these kinda episodes and I have to do a review of them, it can be kinda hard to think of different things to say because I try my best to not recycle what I say. And, really, this episode doesn't really have a lot of stuff to really talk about. It's another enjoyable episode, but, yeah, it's a tiny bit generic. However, again, sorry this isn't long, but, this is all leading up to the next and the episode I was most excited for out of these recent Lion Guard episode, Divide and Conquer. As for this one though, if you're curious, watch it if you want. (Also, after my next review, expect something special to come out on this.)

The Lion Guard: The Golden Zebra

So yesterday, I did a review of the latest episode of the Lion Guard, the Golden Zebra. Like the last episode, I didn't know what this would be about. Only that I couldn't wait to see it and see what they would do with it. I dunno, a lot of the time they show these cool titles for the episodes and it can get me thinking of different possibilities for the episode and it gets me excited to see it. And, while, again, this episode wasn't the best, I had a better time with this episode than I have in a while. And, yeah, like every other episode, if you want to see this episode with no spoilers, I'm going over all the spoilers. What's the story? When a bunch of animals are getting incredibly thirsty because it's still the dry season and the watering hole is dried up, the Guard hear about some other watering hole in another part of the Pride Lands called the Back Lands. When they get there, they meet a golden coloured female zebra who's the leader of a bunch of zebra whole lives there. When the Guard asks if the Pride Landers can use their watering hole too, she says they have to bring her something first. They manage to, but then she says they can't and reveals that their watering hole is dried up too. Well, sort of. It hasn't dried up. The leopards are using rocks to block the waterfall and keep the water for themselves. (I don't get that considering they could have just stayed with the water above the cliff. I guess they just wanted it and didn't want anyone else to have it, it's just kinda weird.) Anyway, the Guard manages to stop them and get rid of the rocks with the zebras of the Back Lands and the Pride Landers using their watering hole. That sorta helps explain what they're going to do in the future and they could do something like that in future. Anyway, yeah, sorta in line, plot wise, when it comes to how this episode feels similar to the other episodes. But, other than that, like I said in my last entry, I had a fairly good time with this one. I would say though, before I get into the good stuff, the only thing I didn't like here was the actually golden zebra's attitude towards the Guard because she lies to them thinking they won't be able to find the planet that she wants them to get her. She said she was kinda hoping they wouldn't find one. So that makes me think that that was kinda mean of her, especially when she must have known that the Pride Landers are in need of help. But, something I found funny was Bunga, Beshte and Ono's reaction to her when the five of them first meet her. That was pretty funny. And the actual leopard fight at the end was pretty cool with them getting the rocks. Especially given how that one leopard is a character that was already a villain in a previous episode. And the actual journey, like a lot of episodes in the show, is also fun to follow. I also liked those two main servant-like zebras of the Golden Zebra. They were pretty likeable, especially during the middle part. I also thought that, even though, again, the song isn't great, it was pretty clever to have it be what introduces the golden zebra. (Sorry I'm not saying her name. I forgot what it is.) But, I still enjoyed the idea. And, I think overall, I'm more positive on this episode than I have for some other ones that were released a little while back. It's not really anything special and it doesn't stack up to some of the previous episodes that I love, but still, if you're curious to see it, I would recommend it. And so, my next two entries will be more episode reviews because more are being released and I'm seeing them. So, expect to see more of those coming up soon.

The Lion Guard: The Morning Report

So with the Lion Guard starting back up for 2018, it's about time, we get back to the episode reviews, and here, we're starting with The Morning Report. Two were released today, this one and The Golden Zebra. That episode will be my next entry. But, for now, we're doing The Morning Report. If you remember when I did my last episode list that was including this episode, I said this episode sounded like it would most likely be a Zazu centred episode, and, yeah, it is. And, is it good? Yeah, it's pretty good. Nothing special, again, but, I had a pretty enjoyable time with this. Especially one thing in particular. And, yes, like all my other episode reviews. I'll be talking about the whole episode, so, if you don't want it spoiled, go see the episode, then read this. What's the story? It starts off with the Guard helping an animal out of a tree. When Zazu sees this, he decides to add it to the morning report. Afterwards, Kion and Bunga explain a story of how Zazu once saved them from crocodiles. When we hear that, Zazu is then kidnapped by Janja, Cheezi and Chungu hoping to get information out of him. When they do, the Guard are talking to Simba who's wondering why he hasn't come and the Guard decide to go look for him. Zazu manages to get their attention and they manage to get him out of there. So, yeah, not that special a plot, but, these episodes, for the most part, don't really require much special writing. Now, what I was talking about a second ago with that one thing that I really liked the most here, and that's that flashback we see of Kion and Bunga as young kids. We even see Fuli as a young kids too. Watch.

Not just because it's kinda cute, but it's also fun to see something like this and shows more about some of their pasts. And I thought that was nice to know. But, besides that, the rest is enjoyable too, like, when we see Cheezi and Chungu being their usual stupid selves when Zazu is trying to mess with them and trick them. I also just really liked the whole thing with Simba and his concern for Zazu. Obviously he cares for him and he appreciates him, but, if you were to take Simba the way he was like to Zazu at the start of the first Lion King and see the way he thinks of him now, it's actually really touching. Also, quick thing here I just want to mention about it, I didn't really like the song all that much. The part that Zazu is in where he has to get the Guard's attention is with this song. And, the song, overall, for me anyway, was just kinda skipable. The songs in the show lately haven't been as good as the early episodes as I've said before. However, pushing the song aside, I think this is an easy to enjoy episode if you're curious to see it with some likeable scenes and good character moments. Sorry if these Lion Guard episode reviews kinda sound small and similar, but honestly, the more I talk about the same thing like this, the less and less I can think of different things to say considering I'm mostly saying the same thing. However, with the next episode, The Golden Zebra, expect a more positive attitude on it. For this though, yeah, if you want to and if you're curious, I'd say see it. It's not bad and there are some parts I found really enjoyable. See it if you're curious.

My paintings of Death Note characters

So, like I said in my last entry with me doing paintings of characters from Cowboy Bebop, I said that I was going to be doing another anime paintings entry, and that's what this is. Here, I'm going to show you all paintings I did of some characters from Death Note. There weren't too many I wanted to do, so, I only did four of them. My paintings of Cowboy Bebop characters

With me already doing a ton of different anime paintings before like Naruto, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fairy Tail and Dragon Ball Z and so on, I decided to keep it going with this new one, a paintings of entry of Cowboy Bebop characters. Again, as I said before, I'm not the biggest fan of Cowboy Bebop, but I still enjoyed it and I liked the characters. I'm going to do another anime painting for my next entry and you'll find out which one when I do it, but, for now, we're doing Cowboy Bebop, and, I hope you all enjoy.

2017 recap and 2018 look ahead

So, like what I did last year, now that it's New Year's Eve, I thought I would go over what I thought this year was to me and what I feel next year is going to be. Overall, for me personally, I, again, had a great year and think this year had my best content and I'm really happy with what I was doing with things like my Kingdom Hearts individual reviews, my individual anime reviews and my reviews of the different straight to video Disney sequels. I'm really happy with the way all those turned out and I'm looking forward to even more stuff like that in the future. Next year is going to have new entries and something very, very special. I'm actually going to start being a YouTuber starting next year. I don't know when I'm going to start, but, when I do, I'll share the link onto this blog so you can all find it and look at it if you want. It's going to be called Daniel M Cartoons like this. It might get some time to get used to the way I talk because I have Cystic Hygroma, so it'll be a little hard to understand me at first, but, you'll most likely get used to it after a while and hopefully you'll begin to understand if you watch. What will be on it is the same as to what I do on this blog. Reviews and all sorts of things like that. Aside from that though, this year has actually been pretty good for this blog, up until August when my viewings started to get much, much smaller because someone stopped sharing it somewhere and I don't know how to fix that. So, to those still reading, thank you all very much. It's meant a lot that people are actually still reading and I'm really happy with a lot of this content that I'm making. Also, if you do like it, please tell other people like your friends or family, it would be really great for other people to read this too. And I'm looking forward to doing more entries in the future. My next entry will be the next Daniel Danger. The reason I haven't posted one since my first in October is because I haven't been able to think of anything for a story for a while even though I've been thinking really hard and, even though I know the basics of what these later stories are going to be, the first few I'm trying to think of have been kinda hard to think of, but I've thought really hard for a while and so, yeah, the second Daniel Danger: Season 2 story will be my next entry for 2018. I'm really excited and I hope you all are too and I hope you like it when I do it. And, even besides that, next year has a ton of great stuff coming out. I'm also going to do reviews for other things too, like, I'm going to do a Kingdom Hearts 3 review when it comes out and when I finish it. My top 10 releases of 2018

With it being New Years Eve tomorrow, I decided to talk about my top 10 most anticipated releases of next year. And this will really count anything. Not just movies, but really anything that'll be  coming out next year whether it be movies or games or DVDs or TV. It can be anything. I'm looking forward to all of these very much, especially my number 1 pick. And, if you know me, you can probably tell what my number 1 is going to be. And so, let's begin and I hope you all enjoy.

10. Deadpool 2:

Starting us off at number 10 is the sequel to one of the best comic book movies I've ever seen and the funniest I've ever seen. That being Deadpool and this is going to be Deadpool 2. So far, the marketing has been amazing and I obviously can't wait to see more. Ryan Reynolds was immediately one of the best comic book movie actors when the first Deadpool movie was released and it looks like he's going to be even better here. They're bringing in new Marvel characters like Cable and Domino, who I can't wait to see. Overall, this looks like it could be another phenomenal Deadpool movie and I can't wait for it in June.
9. Fairy Tail DVD collection part 22-???:

Now, the reason I'm saying it like this is because these Fairy Tail part DVDs come out during the year and there's a certain amount that do come out every year, but I don't know how many that is. That's why I'm doing in question marks like this. Still though, I can't wait to get more. I've gotten even more of these DVDs for Christmas and I'm still collecting. Number 18 will be released in January and then the rest will be released later on.
8. Black Panther:

At number 8 is the next M.C.U movie that'll be out in less than two months. I loved Chadwick Boseman as T'Challa/Black Panther in Civil War, and the fact that he's now getting his own movie has me beyond excited and I can't wait to see and review it. From the trailers alone so far, it looks like Ryan Coogler has directed this movie very beautifully and I can't wait to see what he properly brings to this movie when it releases. This and Ant-Man and the Wasp are both released this year and I can't wait for them both. Them and another movie you'll see later on.
7. Naruto Shippuden Season 8 DVD:

Like what I said with the Fairy Tail DVDs, these complete seasons of Naruto Shippuden have been coming out once a year. This year, Season 7 was released and next year will release Season 8. This is the English dub I'm talking about with about 8 disks inside it. I can't wait to see what it looks like and I can't wait to start watching Season 7 because I also got that for Christmas and I want to see what it'll be like when I have Season 8 and then 2019 will release the final one. That being Season 9, which will be the entire Naruto Shippuden seasons on DVD and I can't wait for all of it.
6. The new and last 3-in-1 Naruto mangas:

This is what I meant when I said this list could contain anything. And I'm more excited for the conclusion of the 3-in-1 Naruto mangas because I'm collecting them all and so far, they've gone up to vol. 20. They've been coming out every third month and they're going to be finished October of next year, which I can't wait for. When the last one does come out and when I get it, along with the other 3-in-1s that'll be out next year, I'll have gotten them all which means I'd have the entire Naruto manga set and the 3-in-1 mangas are the best ones to get. As you must have seen in my collections entry, you'll have seen there are other mangas that does the same thing and when I get the last Naruto one next year, I'll have gotten all the Naruto ones. I can't wait. The ones above are volumes 21 and 22, which will be out in January and April of next year.
5. More Pop Vinyl Figures:

This is something I spoke about before in my top 10 characters I want to see become Pop Vinyl Figures. So I won't explain what they are. Still though, I want a lot more to be made, in fact, I'm going to make a second list talking about more characters I want to see, especially seeing how some of the ones I spoke about before actually happened. So I would really love for even more that I want to see get turned into them. When I made my second list, I'll explain which ones. Over all, I can't wait to get more and see which ones they make for next year.
4. Wreck-It Ralph 2:

Considering the fact that this will be the next Disney Classic, of course I can't wait for this. I love the first Wreck-It Ralph movie incredibly hard and so having more of that, and the fact that, again, this will be another Disney Classic, really has me super excited. This will also be the first time a sequel was a Disney Classic since Fantasia 2000. And that was back in 1999. The fact that they've decided to make another one, and the fact that it's the sequel to one of my favourite Disney movies ever, is really something to me. I really hope it does turn out good. I know it will be though.
3. The Incredibles 2:

Now, before I say anything about this Pixar movie, I just want say something. The reason I didn't review Coco this year is because it didn't come to Europe in November. It's going to be here in January. So, when it does release, I'll review it then. But back onto the Incredibles 2, of course I'm excited for this. As I said before, the first Incredibles movie is one of my favourite animated movies, and maybe one my favourite movies of all time. It's one of the most imaginative and creative movies I've ever seen and I love everything in it from the animation, the action scenes, the characters, the pacing, the villain and everything. I can't find one flaw with it. And so, with the sequel coming out next year, I'm hoping it'll be even better than it and I can't wait to see what they do with Jack Jack in this. The first trailer was perfect, giving me exactly what I wanted to see and it made me want to see more.
2. Avengers: Infinity War:

Yeah, some of you probably thought this was going to be number 1, but, something else is easily even more anticipated than this for me. Still though, as far as movies go, this is the most excited I've ever been for any movie in my life. And this could be my favourite comic book movie off all time when it releases. It's going to be the combination of everything we've seen in the M.C.U, aside from the TV shows, which is pretty sad, but still. And it looks like it could be the most fun and most action-packed comic book movie ever. I can't wait for it to release and I'm super hoping it lives up to the hype.
And my number most anticipated release of 2018 is... Kingdom Hearts 3:

Come on, what did you expect to be number 1? Kingdom Hearts 3, as I've said, I don't know how many times, is easily the most wanted thing for me, ever. It's been the number 1 thing I've wanted ever since I first heard of it. With this being announced for being actually released at this year's D23, it got so many people, especially me, super excited and we can't wait to see more when it actually releases and we can't wait to see what other Disney or Pixar movies will be released since only 6  actual worlds have been properly announced so far with Twilight Town, Destiny Islands, Mysterious Tower, Olympus, Toy Story and Monster's Inc. Obviously, the Keyblade Graveyard is going to be the final world, but those ones are the ones that have been properly announced so far. I also can't wait to see what Kingdom Hearts 3 looks like with the new graphics and I want to see what new gameplay will be introduced. I can't wait to use Flow Motion again and hopefully it'll be just as good, if not even better, than what I'm expecting. And so, everyone, those are my picks for my top 10 releases of 2018. My top 10 anime openings

With dozens of anime out there, there're even more anime openings with them, I thought I'd talk about the different anime opening out there and count down my top 10 favourite. These will be judge on the songs or music in the opening and the animation and the way they might, either, tell the story with them or help show what the characters are. And so, let's begin and I hope you all like this.
10. Tank (Cowboy Bebop):

Starting us off is the opening of one of the most beloved anime shows of all time, Cowboy Bebop. I've reviewed this show in May and so you all know my thoughts on it. And one of the things I said I enjoyed about it was the music. And the opening is no exception. It's a great combination of jazz music and colourful animation and all that makes a great combo for an older anime show from the 1990's.
9. Over (Boruto: Naruto Next Generation):

The most recent anime opening is at number 9, Over, from Boruto: Naruto Next Generation. And, yeah, this is another great opening. The animation's spectacular, the song's really catchy and I love how it's sorta symbolising something and that being Boruto and Naruto with Boruto sorta seeing the younger Naruto in him and I have a feeling that'll sorta come into play later on in the show. As I said in my top 5 anime that I'm hoping to watch soon list, I haven't actually started watching Boruto yet, I've just watched bits and that's because I'm still waiting to watch the English dub of Naruto Shippuden, which hasn't been finished yet. Either way, this opening scene is still awesome and it's great to listen to.
8. Diver (Naruto Shippuden):

I love this opening, not just because of how fantastically animated it is and the song sounds nice, but also, it's cool to see with how well it tells a story in itself. And, when I say that, I'm talking about what it shows. At the start it shows Naruto sinking with his enemies rising but then his friends are there to push him back up. And when he's out, he sees Sasuke still in the water and so he dives in to get him. That's cool and the singing by NICO Touches The Wall is terrific.
7. Again (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood):

(Don't expect this to be the last of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood on this list.) However while this isn't my favourite Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood opening, it's still really fantastic. It starts off kinda slow with nice singing and music and slow animation, then it goes super fast with fast paced action and the song gets more intense with a lot of sequences happening. And it's a cool with the way it's all edited. A friend and I were even talking lately about this opening's song sounds really beautiful and she really loves listening to it, and so do I.
6. Snow Fairy (Fairy Tail):

The first Fairy Tail opening is the best one in my opinion and I love it. This is one of the only openings where I think that the best part is the song itself. The rest is great too, but my favourite part is the song. It sounds amazing, especially the start of it and the very end of it. It's almost kinda hard to explain why I love this opening so much, I just really do and I love the song so much. It's one of the few openings I have on my iPod because of that. It's just a great sound and the band Funkiest.
5. We Are (One Piece):

With One Piece being the biggest anime I've been starting to watch for a while, this opening had me really excited from the first second. It's one of the few anime opening songs that's English dubbed, which is fantastic. The singer does a great job of giving you this very friendly feeling with great lyrics with a well told backstory about the king of the pirates and the One Piece. I love how the singer gives you the impression that he's super friendly and welcoming.
4. Gotta Go Fast (Sonic X):

As I said in my anime review of Sonic X, the actual theme song for this show is one of the catchiest and best I've ever heard. As well as the first one I actually heard. And, yeah, even to this day, I love it. I love imagining things to it and I remember my cousin and I really liking it when we were younger. And how can I not? It's awesome, it's fast paced, it shows a lot of great action and animation and the end part is incredible. I especially love the singer and how intense the singing almost sounds.
3. Blue Bird (Naruto Shippuden):

Going back to Naruto is Blue Bird. Also known as the third opening for Naruto Shippuden. This is a super beautiful opening. First we see a quick glimpse of Naruto and Sasuke reuniting. After that, we see an amazingly animated blue bird flying around and Naruto falling from the sky and seeing Shikamaru and Asuma in a fight with Hidan and Kakuzu. I love this opening the most for it beautiful song and well animated action and unbelievable camerawork. Definitely one of the best in my opinion.
2. Far Away (Naruto):

Coming in close to number 1 is Far Away from the original Naruto show. This being the second opening for it. With this being the best and most acclaimed Naruto opening ever, it shows a lot and very little as well. By that, I mean, it shows all of Naruto's friends and it's shown with phenomenal animation and a fantastic pumping song. The visuals also indicate that this is all some sort of fore-shadowing and that this was really the beginning of Naruto.
And my number 1 favourite anime opening is... Rain (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood):

And finally, at number 1 is Rain. This being the fifth and final opening for Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. When it comes to an anime opening, this is everything I want. A fantastic song with incredible animation, fantastically well-told story without giving away anything and being so much fun to watch and listen too. This is only anime opening I never skip while watching the anime because it's so amazing with incredible singing from SID and beautifully animated shots, like the final shot of the house and the sunset. And, yeah, this is another song I'm listening to a lot on my iPod. And, like I said before, this is another one I listen to on my iPod and like to do a lot of imagining while doing it. And it shows something huge. That being the war that's happening in Central with Ed, Al, their friends, Mustang's team and Brigg's soldiers vs. the Central soldiers. It shows something huge happening with a bunch of incredible sequences taking place and I love every second of it. And so, everyone, those are my picks for my top 10 favourite anime openings.
