As I said before, Colleen Clinkenbeard has always been one of my favourite anime dub actors. She and Maile Flanagan are kinda tied for me in regards to my favourite anime actress. And given how Clinkenbeard has such a great track record with the roles she's done in anime, it's no wonder why she's so famous to so many anime fans. Like I said before, a lot of her characters are more tough characters with a bit of a soft side to them. Or they could be tough sounding male characters as well. And so, let's begin and I hope you all like this.
5. Gohan (Dragon Ball Z Kai):
Starting us off is Gohan's second voice. Stephanie Nadolny was Gohan's voice in the original Dragon Ball Z, as well as kid Goku's, but in recent years, it's gone on to Colleen. Whenever Colleen does a voice for a boy, she uses the same voice for all of them. And so, whenever she uses it, it always reminds me of her voice for Luffy and so it always makes me think of him whenever I hear her use it for someone else. And the same goes well for Gohan. It's essentially a recreation of what Stephanie did with the original and I think she really pulls it off. And it's all the more fun to think of that Luffy aspect whenever Gohan is using a Kamehameha. But Colleen also does well with Gohan's other emotions and capturing his sense of innocence at the start and then his awesomeness towards the Cell Games Saga.
4. Erza (Fairy Tail):
Next up is the first of the cool female characters Colleen's done. As one of, if not the toughest member of the Fairy Tail guild, Colleen gets to show off how strong she can make her characters. Erza is kinda feared by everyone in the guild with her huge arsenal of weapons and strong attitude. But something else that Colleen does really well with characters like Erza is she shows off vulnerability amazingly. Erza may be strong but she's still got vulnerable moments and Colleen does really well with all of her scenes.
3. Yaoyorozu (My Hero Academia):
At number 3 is a role that I think is somewhat similar and different from her other tough lady roles because Yaomomo is a character who's different because she does show signs of being cool, but not as much as her other characters and she's a bit of a know-it-all. And, with her not being as tough or confident as other, she's still able to give off the impression of vulnerability, but still likeable all around.
2. Hawkeye (Fullmetal Alchemist):
Coming in close to number 1 is Clinkenbeard toughest female role. While that would more likely go to Erza, I just personally prefer Hawkeye. Better known as Riza Hawkeye, this sniper was one of the many soldiers to fight in the Ishvalan Civil War and came back traumatised. She's also incredible supportive and protective of Mustang, which Clinkenbeard does really well. She's able to make a tough military character feel really likeable and strong but also really vulnerable as well.
And my number 1 favourite Colleen Clinkenbeard anime performance is... Luffy (One Piece):
And finally at number 1 is Straw Hat Luffy. This should come as no surprise given how much I've praised her performance as Luffy before, but even more recently, I watched a One Piece movie I've never seen before, that being 3D 2Y, and she's still awesome as him. Being able to make her voice sound like a guy is one thing, but able to also capture all the fun, comedy, charisma and personality that makes Luffy such a great character is another thing entirely. Especially when a lot of Luffy's dialogue is mostly just a load of screaming. But, like I said, a good part of her performance is that she captures a lot of his charisma and that's already a great part about Luffy, but she still pulls off his epic moments while still having all his likeable aspects present the whole time. As well as just the fact that the voice is cool and fits him really well with it sounding like it grows up with Luffy himself. And, if they're gonna continue on with the dubbing of the One Piece anime soon, I can't wait to see her continue with this great performance of a great character. One of the most popular story lines constantly used in anime is the tournament story. Ever since Dragon Ball introduced the concept of anime tournaments, a lot so many other anime have used this for their own stories and a lot of these can be some of the best parts of the series. And every time an anime does one, they always bring something new to the table which makes every one feel that much more unique. And it always excites me whenever I'm starting on an anime and it introduces a tournament arc. And so, let's begin and I hope you all like this.
5. Battle City (Yu-Gi-Oh!):
Starting us off at number 5 is Kaiba's own tournament that he made to prove he's the greatest duelist ever. This was also around the time Marik was being introduced with the intention of defeating Yugi and taking all of the Egyptian God Cards. And there's a ton of duels with the Rare Hunters, the God Cards all being together, a rematch with Yugi and Kaiba, the fights between Mai, Joey and Yugi all against Marik.
4. The Chunin Exam (Naruto):
At number 4 is the exam battles in Naruto. In the exams to judge the Genin to see if any of them would be promoted to Chunin, we got one awesome fight scene after another. The first bunch of matches happened inside the tower with the first amount of one-on-one battles like Naruto vs. Kiba or Lee vs. Gaara, but then things really got heated up when they went to the arena some time later. Here, we get to witness so many incredible action scenes like Naruto vs. Neji, Shikamaru vs. Temari and Sasuke vs. Gaara. The Naruto vs. Neji fight in particular was done to help Naruto change Neji's way of thinking which paid off in a huge way.
3. Tournament Of Power (Dragon Ball Super):
As I said, Dragon Ball was the series to introduce the idea of tournaments in anime and it's continued to have tons of tournaments in its runtime. And my favourite so far has been its most recent with the Tournament Of Power. After Goku convinces Zeno to have a tournament with all the universes, they get it set up with Universe 7 competitors consisting of Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Master Roshi, Android 17, 18, Tien and Frieza. And while teamwork wasn't exactly consistant throughout the whole thing, they still managed to do really well with so many amazing moments throughout like Goku vs. Kefla, Vegeta vs. Toppo, Gohan and Frieza teaming up against Frost, Master Roshi vs. Ganos, Goku achieving Ultra Instinct and fighting Jiren and the climatic fight between Goku, Frieza and Android 17 vs. Jiren.
2. U.A Sports Festival (My Hero Academia):
Coming in close to number 1 is My Hero Academia's early tournament arc with U.A, the sports festival. The first part of it are events like a race with all the students, then they all had to do a tag team event with getting points with headbands. And the final, and by far the best part, is the one-on-one battles. These consist of Uraraka vs. Kacchan, Ida vs. Hatsume and then Deku vs. Todoroki. By far one of the most gorgeous looking battles I've seen in a long time, the Deku vs. Todoroki fight is everything you could want as an anime fight. Not only is Deku trying to win, but he's also trying to convince Todoroki that his fire ability is his and not his dad's. And then the final clash between the two of them is one of coolest finishes I've seen in an anime fight.

And finally at number 1 is probably the most popular tournament in anime, Yu Yu Hakusho's Dark Tournament. Probably the most popular tournament in anime history, this is exactly what every tournament arc in anime should be like. Some of the best moments, not just in this series, but some of the best moments I've seen in an anime is all here. With Yusuke fighting and then befriending Team Rokuyukai, especially Chu, Hiei unleashing the Dragon Of The Darkness Flame, Kurama taking his true form, the creation of Puu, Genkai giving Yusuke her power, the reveal of Genkai's past with Toguro and then Toguro killing her and then the final fight between Yusuke and Toguro, which might actually be my favourite anime tournament fight ever. And throughout all that, there's a whole bunch of awesome moments and great character moments too. And all that is why the Dark Tournament is my favourite tournament arc in anime. Given how so many anime series have had non canon movies made about them, I decided to talk about different ones I've seen and I'm gonna pick one movie per series and talk about why I like it. Also, I've talked about some of these already, so I'll make those ones in particular a bit shorter than the others. Also, like every list I make, though I'm bringing up here, this clearly gonna be more subjective than most others because I know a lot of fans of these series have different favourites when it comes to these. But, yeah, this is gonna be opinion based like always, though, maybe a bit more than usual. Anyway, let's get into it and I hope you all like this.
Naruto: Naruto Shippuden The Movie: Blood Prison:
All right, so, this is the most obvious when I said how I was gonna talk about anime movies I've mentioned before, so you can just look at my ranking of the Naruto movies to see why I like this movie, but, overall, I just think it's the most entertaining of all the Naruto films and I always enjoy it whenever I watch it. It's got the usual amazing Naruto animation, awesome fight scenes and some of the most brutal scenes in the series so far.
One Piece: One Piece: Gold:
This one was a bit of tossup for One Piece because I was sorta trying to choose between this and One Piece: Stampede that came out earlier this year, which was actually the first time ever I saw an anime movie in the cinema, so personally, that was cool for me. But I decided to go with Gold because I feel like I just preferred it more. When the Straw Hats arrive on some huge ship belonging to someone named Gild Tesoro who tries to keep them all there working for him. But he also has the power of the Gold-Gold Fruit. And so, the fact that the majority of the movie is surrounded in gold, it makes looking at it really nice. And the plot when we get into the real adventure and the ideas that they introduce here reminds me exactly why I love the series of One Piece and why Oda is a genius at storytelling.
Dragon Ball: Dragon Ball Super: Broly:
Dragon Ball has had a lot of movies over the years, but I think most people will agree that the best one is by far the most recent one with Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Broly was never a character that was canon before this movie. He was in three before this but they were bad. And since they were never canon, they were able to refresh the character completely and make it so that he is canon now. And the fact that this takes place after the Tournament Of Power makes it better with Goku and Vegeta being stronger than they were in any other movies. It was also nice to see that they reintroduced Gogeta and made that Goku and Vegeta fusion dance canon too. And it has some of the best action scenes and comedy I've seen in Dragon Ball, as well as the best animation I've seen in it.
Bleach: Bleach: Diamond Dust Rebellion:
Next to the Blood Prison movie for Naruto, this is a similar case, in the sense that I already spoke about this when I ranked all the Bleach movies, so check that out if you haven't to get my overall thoughts on it. But this is the Bleach movie that always gives me the most enjoyment out of any of them. I really like following the story of this movie and following the characters around it is just a lot of fun because I think it's just really well written.
Yu-Gi-Oh!: Yu-Gi-Oh: The Movie:
This is currently the only Yu-Gi-Oh movie I've see, although I really want to see Bonds Beyond Time and Shattered Dimensions. But, so far, this is the only one. And, as the only one, I really liked this when I was younger, nowadays, I haven't seen it in a while, but I still remember it and remember thinking it was really cool. And, even though it's more than likely just non canon, there are some aspects to it that I like to think could be canon, especially the whole Anubis aspect to it.
My Hero Academia: My Hero Academia: Two Heroes:
Like what I said for Yu-Gi-Oh, this is the only one of the two My Hero Academia movies I've seen even though Heroes Rising came out a couple of months ago too. I'm hoping that that one comes out on DVD soon too. That's how I saw this one. And watching this movie kinda helped remind me what I like a lot about movies based on anime, having the characters going to a new place and meeting new characters and befriending them. I know it's technically non canon, but the idea of it is still cool and I like when a lot of them do it. And the movie is thankfully really good too. I do have some problems with it, but, overall, I like how the characters get to where they are and I like the situation they're put in in terms of what they were planning and what happens in it. There are some points in it that are a bit predictable and don't make that much sense, but I find the rest of the movie, namely Deku's interactions with the new girl of the movie, Melissa.
Fairy Tail: Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry:
So, so far there's only been two movies for Fairy Tail, which I have seen, and I'm not sure whether or not there'll be more, but for the two we do have, I like Dragon Cry more. I mean, neither of them are particularly exceptional or anything, but I find it pretty entertaining. I like the idea of the Dragon Cry staff and the huge fight at the end with it and Natsu. And the rest of the movie has some good moments too. I don't have that much to say about either of the Fairy Tail movies aside from they're just fine. (On a side note, I've personally kinda lost some interest in Fairy Tail. If you all remember, I really loved it a few years ago, but, I think ever since I started watching One Piece or something, I've lost some interest in it. Nowadays, I think it's just good. Not amazing or anything, but good nonetheless. So if any of you are wondering why I'm not praising it as much as I used to, that's why.)
Pokémon: Pokémon: Lucario And The Mystery Of Mew:
And finishing us off is one of the many Pokémon movies, Lucario And The Mystery Of Mew. I know a lot of people would choose something else over this, but I remember watching this on TV one day and a couple of months ago, I went online and watched it again and I still like it. I like the idea of Lucario, I think he's a pretty cool Pokémon and I like the adventure that Ash the others go on with him. Especially the ending. I really like a lot of things about the ending inside the Tree Of Beginning. And it's kinda bitter sweet at the end when Lucario fades away. I do also like some other Pokémon movie, especially the first one, but Lucario And The Mystery Of Mew is probably my favourite of them all. And the whole story with Lucario and his master Aaron is pretty interesting too. Again, the eventual discovery of the whole thing at the end is really cool to me. And I like the bond that Ash and Lucario create throughout the movie too. Like I said before, I really love it when anime movies create new characters that the main characters befriend and are able to have them trust them. It's just a really fun movie for me to watch. Probably one of the most clichés in anime is the dumb protagonist. It's something that's become really common for a long time now and some are definitely stupider than others. And so, I'm gonna use this post to talk about those. Given how I did one for cartoon characters, I decided to do one for anime, and, more specifically, anime protagonists. A lot of these characters can be some of the most enjoyable characters in their series or in anime history with how well-written they are and so on and so, their stupidity adds to the charm and makes them even more fun. And so, let's begin and I hope you all like this.
5. Saitama (One-Punch Man):
Starting us off at number 5 is the strongest hero in the One-Punch Man world, the caped baldy, Saitama. Practically the strongest character in this series is also pretty dumb in terms of general intelligence and knowing what's going on around him. Whether it's barely passing the hero exam or thinking that supermarket deals are more important than giant monsters attacking, he's probably the most oblivious anime protagonist you'll see.
4. Asta (Black Clover):
Okay, so, this is an anime I only just got into recently, and, quick thoughts on Black Clover, it's very standard Shonen with being very formulaic and very generic with how similar to other anime it is. It's pacing is kinda sloppy and a lot of the relationships and things like that are kinda outta nowhere and a lot of the characters aren't very memorable. It's fine the way it is and I'm hoping to get more episodes done eventually because I'm only 40 episodes in. And as for Asta himself, he's kind of a combination of Naruto, Boruto, Luffy, Natsu and a little of Deku all rolled into one. And his stupidity is a lot like a lot of theirs. Whether it's acting like a dope around people or making a fool of himself. And he can't even tell the obviousness of when someone clearly is crushing on him.
3. Natsu (Fairy Tail):
At number 3 is Fairy Tail's Fire Dragon Slayer, Natsu. While he may be able to do well in fights a lot of the time, his real decisions in real world situations are usually ones that leave him or any of his friends in trouble. And even a good amount of people around him know that and try to make sure he doesn't do something dumb.
2. Goku (Dragon Ball):
Coming in close to number 1 is the anime character to start the line of dumb anime protagonists, Goku. Easily the most iconic anime protagonist of all time, this lovable nimrod has some strange examples of what his intelligence is. Because, in terms of martial arts and discipline, he's incredibly smart, but in terms of everything else, there's almost no one stupider. A lot of this could be because of hitting his head when he was a baby and not having anyone to teach him anything after his grandpa died. This is further exemplified in Dragon Ball: Super when he really only just cared about fighting and not much else. But he also doesn't know how babies are made, he sends his own son to fight Cell before giving Cell a Senzu Bean and giving Frieza time to power up even while Namek was exploding all around him.
And the number 1 anime idiot is... Luffy (One Piece):
And finally at number 1 is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, Monkey D. Luffy. Say what you will about his nonstop ambition and loyalty and genius in terms of fighting and inventing new ways to use his Devil Fruit, his knowledge about the rest of the world is not as well thought out. With barely understanding anything about how the world really works, as well as his constant dumb decisions in dire situations, his way of life is always as simple as it can be. He even makes it a point to just punch his way out of every situation. Even most people he meets and his crew knows he's a twit, but are still drawn to him due to his charisma. Whether he's being duped by his opponents, thinking of whatever plan to get somewhere, accidentally hurting his friends, blowing off a whole bunch of money or anything like that, you can bet Luffy will think, or not think, of whatever dumb thing imaginable. And, yeah, I may love Luffy, but his stupidity is one of his best aspects and one of the things that makes him so likeable. And all that is why Luffy is my pick for the number 1 anime idiot. All right, so, I know this is super late for this review, but, where I am, the final episode for this show just dropped today and I was finally able to finish this show. Just wanted that to be the first thing I said before I said anything else here. So, the Mandalorian is a Disney+ original show that started last year and finished last year but, where I am, Disney+ and this show's final episode arrived much later. This show is a new Disney created Star Wars property created by Jon Favreau. If you saw my review for The Rise Of Skywalker a few months ago, you know that I really didn't like that movie and thought Disney ended the sequel trilogy of Star Wars really poorly. But this show interested me. For one thing, it's something Star Wars related on Disney+, so that already got me excited, but the main thing that interested me was people's thoughts on it and saying it was really good. So, I had a lot of anticipation for this. And, in the end, I loved the show, I loved almost everything with it and it was so good. Also, since the series has been out for a while, I'm going full spoilers for the whole first season. The show is about a wandering bounty hunter called the Mandalorian, played by Pedro Pascal, who's a guy who doesn't say much, but is one of the best around. That is until he's given one specific job to find something and bring it back to these imperials. This something ends up being something that everyone who's seen the show is calling "Baby Yoda"...
And Baby Yoda is a character who saves him at one point, so after this, he begins to rethink whether or not he should hand it over. He's also a person who's very committed to the creed of the Mandalorians. Always have a helmet on and never disgrace a job. But now that he's helping to repay Baby Yoda, it's still okay. So, the rest of the show is him on the run from the imperials as well as going from job to job while still trying to care for and protect Baby Yoda. And a lot of the greatness of this show is carried by Pedro Pascal. I've never seen him in anything else before, but he's awesome. Like I said, we never see his face until the very, very end in the last episode, so a lot of the show is him going from place to place and even encountering different people that he helps out either because he needs the work or he'll just help out wherever he can. And the fact that a lot of the show is centred on him not talking much, he's required to do a lot of body language, which he nails. The show is also just really well made. Almost all the directors did an amazing job and it's really well shot with some really gorgeous scenery. It's also got some really funny moments and it almost felt like they were making fun of a lot of people's complaint about the series of Star Wars and acknowledged them like how clone and storm troopers are terrible shots, which was great, especially in the last episode. And, like I said, the directors chosen for the series were almost all perfect. Some of them were even directors I've heard about before but never seen like Deborah Chow and Rick Famuyiwa. Both did great jobs with directing their episodes and the rest were all great too. I will say though, the one episode I didn't really like all that much was episode 5. To me, that episode was kinda boring, the dialogue and acting was kinda weak and it was mostly a drag for me. But the show really picked up after that. But I still loved all the episodes before it too. And the show had some interesting ideas to explore Mando's past like showing him as a child every so often running away with his parents who were killed by droids. And they have him encounter some old people he used to know, especially in episode 6. The action is also really well handled with being really creative and kinda brutal. I'd say it was at its best in episode 1 and the final episode. Something else that, I don't know what others think about but is cool to me, is the fact that Jon Favreau did create this, so someone who's worked in the M.C.U is now working in Star Wars all under Disney. Favreau himself is already an amazing filmmaker and so, having him in control of all this was a genius move and he's really knocked it out of the park with this. I also really liked Gina Carano, Nick Nolte and Carl Weathers as Cara Dune, Kuiil and Greff Karga. All three of them, especially Cara, were super likeable and really cool. And I loved Baby Yoda too. As you'd imagine, he was super adorable and really funny but also really heartfelt. Taika Waititi directed the last episode which might have been my favourite. A lot of really great moments are in this episode alone with some really awesome action. Especially one scene involving the IG-11 droid on a speeder just going around and blasting troopers. That was really awesome and then we actually got to see the Mandalorian's face after he got injured and when the droid tried to help him. Again, I haven't seen Pedro Pascal at all in anything before this, so, personally, that was really cool. I even stayed away from all photos of him to not be ruined. And the action scene afterwards with that one other Mandalorian fighting those other troopers was really cool and brutal. I really loved the part where she throws that one trooper into that furnace. Taika Waititi himself actually voiced the IG droid and seeing him sacrifice himself by going into the lava and blowing up those troopers was also really crushing to me. And, at the end, we see that Moth Gideon, the villain of the last episode, actually has a Darksaber from the Clone Wars series.
And all those came together to make a really great finale and a really great show. We even got a setup at the end where The Mandalorian is gonna try to find out where Baby Yoda is from and try to return it there. So, at the end here, The Mandalorian: Season 1 was really, really good. Disney may have made a mishap when it came to making the sequel trilogy not end on a high note, but they definitely made up for it with this and I really, really can't wait for more. The fact that they're making a sequel season to this is one thing, but they're gonna be more Disney+ shows like Kenobi. I'm sure once the Coronavirus is gone, they'll get back to making those, but, at the moment, this show is fantastic and I can't wait for more. And so, everyone, that's my review of Season 1 of the Mandalorian. I hope all of you have seen it, and, if not, you really should. Okay, so this is something I haven't mentioned yet although I probably should have, due to the Coronavirus around the world, so many people are having to be quarantined inside their houses, and this is quick note to everyone to stay safe and I hope you all are okay. But something that a lot of people are talking about are the different things people are saying is that they're binge watching a whole bunch of different shows. And so, with me doing the same, I thought I'd use this post to talk about the different anime I think everyone should watch if they're a fan of anime and wanna know which ones to watch at the moment, or even just people who want to watch anime and don't know where to start, this is probably the best time to get into them. And so, let's begin and I hope you all like this.
5. The Seven Deadly Sins:
Starting us off is this Netflix exclusive anime and another anime that I started last year, The Seven Deadly Sins. Say what you will about the recent season and it's disappointment with its animation quality, the original couple of seasons were so good and so high in quality. For those two whole seasons, the story and animation were so on point and they were fun to binge watch for a long time. It sure was great to be able to go from episode to episode whenever I wanted and when the episodes would end it was great to experience the story of the show as well.
4. Hunter X Hunter:
The first appearance from an anime from Yoshihiro Togashi's mangas is at number 4. I personally haven't finished this anime yet, but, with what I have watched, it's been a lot of fun to, not only watch it, but also binge watch it. And I've had a great time doing that. It's helped me enjoy this anime a lot more and it's made the experience that much better. And a lot of other people seem to agree with me about that too. Following Gon, Killua, Leorio and Kurapika is awesome and the different situations they encounter is great to watch.
3. Yu Yu Hakusho:
Coming in at number 3 is the other Togashi anime and, maybe his best, Yu Yu Hakusho. Definitely an anime that's easy to binge watch due to being super investing as a story, having so many awesome and memorable characters, a great layout and being really well planned out. While it's ending may be slightly disappointing, the rest of the series is so good that that doesn't really matter. Going into the different episodes with these characters is so much fun that it makes it that more fun to watch and experience.
2. My Hero Academia:
Coming in close to number 1 is the more recently released anime on this list, My Hero Academia. Another anime series like Yu Yu Hakusho, Hunter X Hunter and The Seven Deadly Sins that I started last year, this series has been celebrated ever since it begun as something to look forward to every time a new season comes out. Given how quickly the manga comes out and the series gets made, it makes it all the more fun to watch and experience. Following this geniusly planned out story about heroes is already awesome to think about, but the characters are also so well written and likeable and memorable that it's almost impossible to not feel investment through the entirety of the runtime.

And the number 1 anime to binge watch is... Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood:
And finally at number 1 is the greatest anime of all time, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. I don't even know how many times I've talked about this anime on this blog so I don't know what more I can say, but the story and series as a whole is just so incredible that I can't help but put it at number 1. I recently rewatched the whole series again for, probably, the fifth or sixth time and it's still incredibly rewatchable. I even picked up on some new things this time and it's all still just as interesting to watch as I remember. The story of Ed and Al as they go through this plot is great to go along with and seeing them uncover different things is all too fascinating to explain. And the different plot lines, like the hunt for the Philosopher's Stone to the realisation of the Homunculi to the betrayal from Central to the journey to Briggs to the Promised Day are all so well planned out that it's hard to imagine any other anime story topping this. And it's amazing to binge watch from beginning to end. You just have to watch the series during this time of quarantine to really appreciate it. If you haven't, definitely do. All right, guys, so I know this might seem out of nowhere. Especially since I haven't spoken much about the Lion Guard much in a long while. But, the honest truth is that I kinda lost interest in it for a while, but then some time ago last year, when Season 3 was ending, I began to find myself getting interested in it again, especially from some of the images, clips and songs I was seeing. And, from the things I was gathering and putting together, the premise that I was seeing looked really interesting. And, eventually, I manged to watch the whole season. And, with it, I can easily say that this was my favourite season of the show. There's definitely some things in it that I didn't like so much, but there was so much here that I loved and I can't wait to share my thoughts about it. Also, this will have all the spoilers for the season. So after the events of Season 2 when Scar returns, the Guard moves in to fight him. And they even have another member. An eagle named Anga.
Anyway, this also takes place much later in the story so everyone is older, especially Kion who not only looks older, but he sounds older too, which is great, I always love seeing shows where we see how far the characters have grown and changed. And they also get Janja and the other hyenas on their side too, which is already awesome. And we even see that Simba already knew about Jasiri and knows her to be a good guy. All that is cool to know. And then, during the first episode during the fight with the Outlanders, they managed to get inside the volcano where Scar is and Ushari the bites Kion and gives him a scar like Scar himself.
That was a surprise to me and something that I think helps with the character. For one thing, I think it helps give him a cooler design and it adds more with everyone now worried given how the scar has venom which is now inside Kion and could turn him evil. And then Rafiki informs them that the only way to heal him is to go somewhere called the "Tree Of Life", which is apparently where Rafiki first met Makini. Ono also gets hurt in the eyes which means he needs to be healed too and this is what makes Kion give Anga the position of Keenest Of Sight. And so, the Guard, along with Makini, begin to head off to it and the journey itself is kinda hit and miss. There are some really good parts to it and some parts that kinda fall a little flat. On the one hand, I liked seeing the return of some villains like Makucha, and I liked the inclusion of new characters like Azaad. And with him, I liked how they included a love interest for Fuli.
But that point kinda has something do with another that I'll talk about later. And, yeah, then there're the episodes that feel like they kinda drag a bit and feel like they just move it along. And they're even doing this thing where Kion can sorta slip a little bit, as in, he sorta begins to turn on the others and act like a jerk because of the venom and the only way to help is with Tuliza plants. But, then, the eventual arrival at the Tree Of Life is what I was really looking forward to. And when they get there doesn't start off so great with the protectors of the land, The Night Pride, thinking that they're enemy invaders.
And once they kinda dismiss them and Kion kinda goes off to be by himself briefly, I like the song they have for him. Again, the songs the Lion Guard are kinda hit and miss, but this season has some amazing ones, and I've been listening to a lot of them a lot ever since around August or September of last year, which is when I began to get back into the show. And his song here is really fantastic in my opinion. Listen.
And I noticed how they got another person to do the singing voice for Kion. It's obvious that Max Charles did the singing for him in the first episode but then afterwards, they got someone else to do it. Which is kinda weird and I'm curious to know why they did that. But either one is fine and I still like a lot of the ones they have for him. But at least Max does the talking voice for him. But then, the leader of the Night Pride, Rani...
... Speaks to her grandmother, Janna, who's also the queen of the Tree Of Life, and she says that they should welcome them. And we even see that Rani can talk to her parents in the sky like Kion is to Mufasa. And then she welcomes the Guard in. And the Tree Of Life also refers to the land that the tree is in. And, once there, they begin to heal Kion and Ono along with fighting off the villains that followed them. Rani even shows the Guard around.
But it's got more to it when Janna eventually dies and Rani is named the new queen of the Tree Of Life. And I really like the death scene. Obviously not the death itself, but the scene itself is really well done in my opinion. Really well animated and acted. Watch.
And then the coronation for Rani is nice too. I like the song they use and the animation is really cool.
But as it keeps going, we even see that Kion is thinking of training with the roar and is finding different uses with it. He even learns it from Askari.
And that eventual use of it was pretty cool. But then we see that Kion and Rani have both fallen for each other, which is great, because I love both characters and I love seeing them together. It also has probably my favourite love song, and maybe my favourite song in the series, "We're Of The Same Pride".
All that was really great to watch and they then even have the tie-in for The Lion King 2. The whole thing with Kion going to the Tree Of Life explains why he wasn't in the movie and then they have it where the Guard has to go back to the Pride Lands to stop Zira now that Kion and Ono are healed. They then go back only to find out that everything's okay and they find out what happened. And I really like the scene between Kion and Kiara when they're talking about Rani.
Though I still think Kiara especially should look a little older since she still looks like a cub here. Anyway, apparently, even Vitani and a group of lionesses have become the Lion Guard. And he seems willing to give up the roar to her and decides to go back to Tree Of Life where he then marries Rani and become king of it himself.
And I love this ending. I love how it ends with Kion ending up with Rani and it's cool that he actually becomes a king himself. This kinda goes back to what I was saying before, the fact that I originally wanted Kion to end up with Fuli, though I'd understand why that would sound really silly. And this whole thing with the ending made me think of something. The fact that this technically means that Kion became a king before Kiara became a queen. How's that for irony? And so, as a whole, I really loved a lot from this season. As a fan of the show for so long, this was such a satisfying experience and I loved how a lot of these characters ended up and where they went. And it's especially nice for me to see as I've been watching the show since 2016. And even more so me, and I'm sure we can all agree, and so many others have loved the Lion King franchise our whole lives. I don't know if this'll be the last from this franchise, but it's definitely a part that I've loved a lot of. Yes, like I said, I did lose interest for a while and there are some parts in this season that I didn't like, but the positives outweigh the negatives in my opinion. I just loved so much in this and I would highly recommend it if you haven't already. And so, everyone, those are my thoughts on Season 3 of the Lion Guard. So, going back to another top list for Kingdom Hearts, I decided to talk about something I don't think I've talked about before, the different world themes in the games. Yoko Shimomura has not only done an amazing job with doing the themes for regular music for the games, but has also does a great job capturing the feel of a world with these themes as well. And not just the different Disney movies, but also just themes of new original worlds as well. And while one or two themes may not exactly fit the world in my opinion, none of them are bad at all and are still great to listen to. And so, this will be counting normal world themes as well as battle themes when the music changes when you have to fight Heartless. Also, I'll just say the world where the theme is from. I know a lot of these themes actually have names, but some don't, or at least I can't find out what they are, so I'll just be saying the worlds. And so, let's get into this and I hope you all like this.
10. Port Royal (Battle theme):
Starting us off is the only battle theme for a world in Kingdom Hearts. I'm placing this at the start and this is the only battle theme on here because it does sound really cool, but I like the other nine of these more. Anyway, I've always loved when these Kingdom Hearts games adapt a music theme from a Disney movie that's actually from the movie. And this is no exception. The fact that it's the Pirates Of The Caribbean theme is even better. The theme is already awesome in the movie, but when you're going up against Heartless and pirates in Kingdom Hearts 2, it's made even more awesome when you're running around and are actually fighting as Sora. The normal theme and the two theme for this world in Kingdom Hearts 3 are great too, but this is just my favourite throughout all the times we've gone there.
9. Atlantica:
Say what you will about the weird inclusion of the singing in Kingdom Hearts 2 when you go to Atlantica there, but I do still love the music when you go to this world. I would also include the theme from Kingdom Hearts 2 when you go there again, but, like I said in the last pick, I really love it when these world themes sound like the themes or songs from the Disney movies and so the fact that it this one sounds like Under The Sea, one of my favourite Disney songs ever, makes it really cool.
8. Destiny Islands:
Now we're getting to the theme of Sora, Riku and Kairi's home world. And this is the first one like with the last one in Atlantica. Later on, for Chain Of Memories, they made a new one that they used again for Kingdom Hearts 2 and Birth By Sleep, but I prefer this original. It sounds both kinda relaxing but also really fun. And I think that's put to really good effect when you're just running around the Destiny Islands and just exploring everything in the first game.
7. Halloween Town:
This is something I should have mentioned in the part for Atlantica, but some of these themes that adapt these Disney songs for the world's themes is how I first heard these. So it was cool to hear a lot of these and then see the movie and hear the song for real and get a feeling of familiarity, which is weird considering it's supposed to be the other way round for pretty much all of these. Anyway, back to the theme itself, I love how this world has the song This Is Halloween as it's theme. It's by far the best, or at least, the most popular song in the movie and being able to hear it as you're going through Halloween Town is awesome.
6. The Land Of Dragons:
Now we get to a Disney world theme that isn't an adaptation of an actual Disney song. This ones completely original and I love it. For one, I love the instruments used to make the music and the way it's done. I'm not sure what instruments they used for this, but whatever they're using, it sounds great and awesome to listen to. And it fits the world really well. And it definitely has a bit of a Chinese feel to it, which is great for capturing the world's environment.
5. The World That Never Was:
At number 5 is the world theme for the Organization's world. Like the last one, I don't know what instruments they're using for this theme, but it sounds great. But the best part of it is the choir it totally makes sense given how they'd want a big music piece like this to be the music for the final world in the game and it's really effective. I especially love the part near the end where the music goes down and all you hear is the choir. I really love that part. But the whole thing itself is really great anyway with some really great uses in the cutscenes as well.
4. Arendelle:
Now, this one might sound weird, but whenever I listen to this theme, I can't help but feel like it sounds like a opening theme for a show. That may be a weird thing to say, but from the way it starts and finishes, it just kinda comes off that way to me. But, even taking that part out of it, I still love this theme. I properly got into listen to the theme of Arendelle a while back because I really wanted to hear it properly, and it does sound really awesome. And, while it doesn't like any of the songs or themes from Frozen, the actual theme here is still great to listen to.
3. Toy Box:
So, out of all the Disney themes in Kingdom Hearts, and especially ones that adapt a theme from the Disney movie itself, the world theme for Toy Box is my favourite. I already love the You've Got A Friend In Me song, so the fact that they did an adaptation of the song for this world's theme is even cooler. It sounds perfectly accurate to the original and adds so much to it here that it still feels fresh. So when you're running around the world, especially Andy's room and talking to the toys there, it makes it feel all the more like you're really in the Toy Story movies. And it does do a great job of immersing in the world immediately if you love the Toy Story movies and this song.
2. Twilight Town:
Coming in close to number 1 is the first theme we hear in Kingdom Hearts 2. And this is just like what I was saying about the Destiny Islands and Atlantica themes, meaning that there's more than one version of it. There's two for the different characters. This one is when you're playing as Roxas at the start and then we get a different version when you start playing as Sora. But Roxas's version is the one I prefer. It sounds really beautiful and really relaxing, just like the Destiny Islands theme.
And my number 1 favourite world theme in Kingdom Hearts is... Hollow Bastion:
And finally at number 1 is the world theme for Hollow Bastion. It's honestly kinda hard to explain why I'd put this at number 1, but just from the sound of the music, I can't help but love it and give it the number 1 spot. I think I preferred it the most in Kingdom Hearts 2 when you got the listen to this while exploring a lot of the outside of Hollow Bastion itself as well. And, like I've said already on this list, I may not know what instruments are being used here, but, whatever they're using, it all comes together to help create music that really fits the world. I especially love the part at the 0:44 mark where it almost kinda sounds like it has a bit of a chorus, if that's the right term to use. But that part is still awesome nonetheless. When you go there in Birth By Sleep and Kingdom Hearts 3 when it become Raidant Garden, they do two different remixes of it and, yeah, they sound good too, but, like I've said already on here, I prefer both the original from the first Kingdom Hearts game and Kingdom Hearts 2's version, and I guess Re:Coded because it was the same. I just really like hearing it and it really does fit the world perfectly like all these other themes. And all that is why Hollow Bastion has my favourite world theme in Kingdom Hearts. And so, those are my top 10 world themes in Kingdom Hearts. So, going back to my Kingdom Hearts entries, I don't think I've made a thoughts entry for a Disney movie in a Kingdom Hearts game for a while. Maybe since I did the Moana one a few years ago. And so, with Kingdom Hearts 3 and Re:Mind done, I wanted to talk about worlds I want to see and the way I want to see it be done. Now that Arendelle is already in Kingdom Hearts 3, I think it would be cool to see it appear again in Kingdom Hearts 4, or just whatever the next Kingdom Hearts game is. Also, this will have spoilers for Arendelle in Kingdom Hearts 3 and Frozen 2. And so, let's begin. So, for the beginning when Sora, Donald and Goofy arrive in Arendelle around the point where Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven are leaving for their adventure. They meet up and reunite since the last game. Afterwards, they explain what's going on and they agree to go along and help them. And on the way, Sora, Donald and Goofy begin to explain what's been happening. I doubt they'd explain about what they were up to due to keeping the world order, but I mean, they'd explain what they're doing and why they came back. So, all of them begin to walk to the forest or maybe they'll get there on Sven. But, with that, it's most likely you'd have to walk there. It would also be cool if Elsa was a party member this time. Anyway, they eventually make it to the forest and meet the people in there. They explain everything there too and then they head off to find the ship that Anna and Elsa's parents were in. And, once they find it, they find out the truth about what they were doing and then they make a plan to go to Ahtohallan. But then, at this point, Kristoff and Sven are separated from them and so, Sora, Donald, Goofy, Anna, Elsa and Olaf are the only ones there, so Elsa sends the others away to go to Ahtohallan by herself. But then, Sora, Donald and Goofy get separated from Anna and Olaf so they're by themselves wandering through the forest trying to decide what to do. They then find Kristoff at around the time Elsa has already shown Anna the truth. This is also around the time when Anna has gotten the giants to chase her and is heading towards the waterfall to destroy it. And maybe there could be a small minigame where you have to get the giants to chase you and you have to avoid getting hit. I would also imagine we see a scene with Elsa in Ahtohallan and seeing all the things that happened. Or maybe they'd show a bit and then cut away after some moment and that's it or they might show a bit and then continue it later on. They've done that in some of the other game. Anyway, they eventually get to the waterfall with Sora, Donald, Goofy and Anna trying to provoke the giants to destroy the waterfall and then it's heading towards Arendelle. They could also fight a Heartless that helps them destroy the waterfall once it's defeated, but the waterfall goes anyway. But then, Elsa stops it and saves Arendelle. They all eventually reunite with Elsa and she then restores Olaf. And, before that, Anna tells Sora and the others what happened to him. Also, and I know this is a weird thing to say, but then they all go in for the group hug and I would say that Kristoff proposes to Anna, though they'd probably cut that part and say that that happened off-screen. They then go back to the forest and explain what happened to the people there. I would like to include that they go back to Arendelle and Sora, Donald and Goofy and see Anna's coronation as queen, but they'd probably end it when they're at the forest or when they meet up with Elsa again. But I would like to see them say goodbye this time because, in Kingdom Hearts 3, they just stood there with not saying anything to the others and then it ends. Here, I'd like to see them say goodbye and have a real ending for the world. And so, everyone, those are my thoughts on how I want to see Frozen 2 implemented in Kingdom Hearts 4 or any other future Kingdom Hearts game. So, going back to my cartoon paintings, I'm moving onto Phineas & Ferb. I honestly really wanted to do this entry for a while, and now I finally did it. As I said before, Phineas & Ferb is tied with the Lion Guard as my favourite Disney show ever. It's just super fun to watch, super entertaining and super likeable. Some of these were a little tricky given the shapes of some of these characters, but I did the best I could and so, here they are and I hope you all like these.
