Dragon Ball GT (Anime Review)

So guys, once again, I'm doing another anime review and this is a very unique one because I finally watched all of Dragon Ball GT, the original sequel series to Dragon Ball Z and was created only by Toei Animation and wasn't part of Akira Toriyama's original manga. And this is unique because I actually thought that I would never watch this. I've heard so much about this series from people and how so many didn't like it and thought it was a terrible series. I also even mentioned to someone on my YouTube channel that I wouldn't bother watching this because, not only did I not want to waste my time with it, but it also just wasn't part of canon anymore because of Dragon Ball Super being the real sequel series now and it completely retconned this entire show. But, recently, I was kinda pondering about getting it because, not only was it on DVD here, but the whole series was in one box set and it wasn't very expensive. I also just wanted to add it to my Dragon Ball collection. And, in terms of the series itself, people were saying there were some good things in it, and I had heard a lot about the series in different ways too. So, I eventually got the complete box set of the whole series on Friday and I finished the show today. And in the end, yeah, it's pretty much exactly what you heard about the series already, it's really, really, really bad. This is probably the first time I do an anime review that's all negative because I found this series to be so a pain to watch. A part of me is kinda happy to have finally seen it, but it was mostly a gigantic drag to get through. And, like always, this will have all the spoilers, but, that's all right, cause I really don't think you should watch this. Anyway, let's get to it. So, the basic plot is that the beginning of the series starts with Goku training Uub from the end of Dragon Ball Z and they're finishing their training but the Pilaf Gang find things called The Black Star Dragon Balls, which are, exactly that, Dragon Balls but with black stars, and they accidently wish for Goku to be a small boy again. These Dragon Balls however then scatter across the universe and need to be returned to Earth otherwise the planet will explode. So, Goku decides to go into space to find them along with Trunks and Goten, but then Goten gets left behind because Pan, Gohan and Videl's daughter, sneaks on the ship and takes off without him so now it's just Goku, Trunks and Pan looking for the Dragon Balls. And that's the first half of the show, just the three of them in space looking for the Dragon Balls while going on insane journeys along the way. There's clearly more along the way, but I'll get to that later on. So, yeah, at the very beginning, it's really obvious to see a lot of the main issues. The idea of turning Goku into a kid again is one of the worst and most infamous ideas in Dragon Ball history, the whole idea of the Black Star Dragon Balls is also insanely weird because, not only were they never part of the original series, but they also make tons of plot holes too like how everyone somehow forgot they existed, and, for me, the main thing I couldn't get over how annoying and boring a lot of the episodes were along with the often super annoying characters, especially Pan. Pan is one of the most annoying characters in all of Dragon Ball. A lot of people have talked about how disliked she is and I agree. I could not stand her. Just with her constant complaining and making tons of mistakes, not to mention she was a terrible fighter a lot of the time too. It's almost kind of a shame because she's one of those characters I want to like because there are some things about her that almost kinda alludes to her having good qualities, but her constant whining and bad decision making just made her insufferable a lot of the time. And, for the entire Black Star Dragon Ball Saga, it felt like nothing but just boring episodes with dumb scenarios like when Pan is mistaken for a bee or when Trunks has to pretend to be a woman or when they meet the incredibly stupid and annoying Para-Para Brothers or when they run into some annoying villain named Dolltaki who stays around for way too long and is one of the worst aspects to the entire show. And, we keep this up for at least 20 or so episodes. We barely even get to see Vegeta at all. The second best character in this entire franchise and maybe one of the greatest anime characters of all time and he's barely involved. Speaking of, for a lot of the early episodes, it almost felt like Goku was barely involved himself. It just felt like he was just around for no reason and didn't feel like he was involved all that much. I will admit, after the Black Star Dragon Ball Saga, things feel like they sorta go into an interesting direction because we're then introduced to Baby, this character who's a creation from the Tuffles, the race of beings the Saiyans destroyed to take their planet and turn it into Planet Vegeta. The idea of bringing back the Tuffles in some way and have something from them be a villain who wants revenge for what the Saiyans did makes total sense and is a really good idea. I like the idea that they don't ignore what the Saiyans have done and made a villain from that. However, people were saying this arc was pretty well done for the most part and had some really great moments. But, personally, I didn't really see it. Yeah, the idea of Baby being something the Tuffles made and now wants revenge is a good idea, but that's really the only good thing I saw from this Saga because everything besides that still wasn't very good in my opinion. I felt it went on for too long and the action scenes were so boring a lot of the time. Speaking of, that's another one of the biggest problems with the show. The action scenes are so, so, so boring in this series. The Dragon Ball franchise has the most famous action scenes in anime history but this series contains the worst action scenes I've ever seen from the franchise. The hand-to-hand combat is some of the worst choreographed I've seen and most of the series is just the characters using Ki blasts, especially the Kamehameha. The Kamehameha is used way too much in this series. Goku does it so many times and it was used way too much and got kinda annoying after a while. Speaking of the Baby Saga, this is also when the iconic Super Saiyan 4 is introduced. Super Saiyan 4 is probably the most famous part of Dragon Ball GT with its design being so well known. But, really, again, it didn't mean all that much to me when it happened. I guess I like how it turns Goku back into an adult temporarily, but, I don't really like the design, and the actual scene itself when it happens is pretty weak. In Dragon Ball Z, characters achieving new forms were always humongous moments and felt like they were super impactful on the story. This was just kinda casual and not very well done. Not to mention the fact that it doesn't feel like how Goku would usually achieve a new form where it was always out of hard work or suffering like when he first achieved Super Saiyan. And the idea of having it be that Elder Kai and Kibito Kai just pull a tail from him and that's part of how he gets it is so lame. And, the eventual fight with Goku and Baby, like I said, I didn't like the action and it was so boring, but the actual idea for the setting being a restored Planet Vegeta and having Buu and Uub fuse into Majuub are both ideas that I like, but they're not well explored ideas and they both felt so wasted when they could have done so more. But then Goku is finally able to kill Baby when he tries to escape, but then we get, in my opinion, the worst and most pathetically executed moment in the whole series. The Earth is still in danger of blowing up because Baby made a wish with the Black Star Dragon Balls so they decide to move everyone on Earth to the resurrected Planet Vegeta but Piccolo, who, by the way, was only in this for five seconds before now, decides to stay to sacrifice himself so the Black Star Dragon Balls don't reappear again so he stays on the planet when it explodes but then the other Namekians just all of a sudden wish the Earth to come back. And we don't even really see it happen, it's just explained in a narration. I swear, this moment was so horribly done because, not only did they have the Earth get wished back in less than a minute after it blew up, but the fact that we then see it back to normal without actually seeing it was really terribly done. Not to mention the fact that Piccolo was only in this for about three or four minutes and then he died. I know people say the Baby Saga was the best part of the series, but I really didn't like it at all aside from just the idea of Baby as a character. The whole thing of him coming to Earth and taking over people, especially Vegeta, is a cool idea I guess, but, even then, there's some things there I don't understand like how everyone kinda acts like they're someone else, but also kinda like themselves too, so I didn't really get it. So, I know everyone says this Saga is okay and well done for the most part, but I just saw it as another part of GT that was a waste of time. The next Saga after this is the Super 17 Saga. Everyone has already complained about this Saga and talked about how bad it is, and, yeah, it totally is. The one good thing I'll say about it is that it is really short so we don't have to stick with it for too long, unlike the Baby Saga. So, Dr. Myuu, the guy who was trying to resurrect Baby, teams up with Dr. Gero in the underworld and they decide to have two versions of Android 17 fuse into Super Android 17 and they even manage to resurrect all the villains who died in the Dragon Ball franchise and so everyone has to fight them. This is an aspect that's so bizzare because, while I guess the idea to bring back the villains makes sense for Gero because he wants to overwhelm everyone, it was weirdly done because  we don't get to see them fight the villains for very long. We get small chunks of it, but not much so we don't get to see what happens to most of them. The one cool aspect about that I like is when Goku has to fight Frieza and Cell in the afterlife. The idea of Frieza and Cell teaming up is a cool idea and the interactions they have are fun to watch, but even then, there's some things there that don't make sense, especially in regard to a rule of the Dragon Ball franchise, that being that when a character dies and is in the afterlife, if they die again, then they're gone forever. But, here, Frieza and Cell talk about how they can't die because they're already dead. And that's completely forgetting a rule that's always been part of the Dragon Ball franchise. But then, towards the end of the Saga, we have Goku and Android 18 teaming up to fight 17 and it has a cool ending I guess. I mean, it's pretty generic, but it has a nice interaction between Goku and 18 because 17 killed Krillin. Again, like I said, the only good thing about this Saga is that it's really short so we don't have to bear with it for too long. After this is the last Saga of the series, The Shadow Dragon Saga. This is pretty much the same as the Baby Saga for me in that a lot of people say this arc isn't too bad and has good moments in it, but, again, it was the same for me where I mostly found it boring and a waste of both time and good ideas. Again, there are some ideas that're good here like how the Dragon Balls break and the negative energy stored inside them from misusing the Dragon Balls over and over releases seven evil dragons called Shadow Dragons who begin to rampage through the world so Goku and Pan go after them to find the Dragon Balls and stop the dragons. I like the idea that using the Dragon Balls over and over has consequences, but, this felt like a mix of the Black Star Dragon Ball Saga and the Baby Saga where Goku and Pan have to find the Dragon Balls and have to fight specific villains like in the Baby Saga. Most of these episodes feel like a waste of time, except for one Shadow Dragon called Nova Shenron who was created with the Four Star Dragon Ball and he's the only one that didn't feel wasted. He and Goku begin to respect each other throughout their fight which leads to them becoming friends and an ally later on. I like that. It makes sense that Goku would befriend the Four Star Dragon and I like their interactions. But, eventually, the final dragon, Syn Shenron is revealed as the last of the dragons and he then evolves into Omega Shenron and Goku and Vegeta have to team up to fight him. This part reminded me a lot of the Majin Buu Saga in that they fight a villain that everyone tries their harest to fight and can even reassemble himself the same way as Buu but then Goku and Vegeta have to fuse but that doesn't work which results in everyone getting smacked around again until Goku eventually uses the Spirit Bomb to kill the villain. Except here, even though I really didn't like the Majin Buu Saga because it was way too long and was really boring and annoying after a while, this was way worse. I'll admit, I like how it was way shorter than that so we didn't have to waste as much time on it, but this was still really poorly executed because, like I've said a bunch of times already, the action was really boring, but the way the Spirit Bomb killed Omega Shenron was really weird. It was just that it hit him and he was dead. There wasn't any long drawn out moment showing it, he just launched the bomb and that was it. And, I will admit, I know the whole Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta is pretty iconic and it is an interesting idea, espeically since they do kinda use the idea again later on for Dragon Ball Super: Broly, except it was done much better there with having Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan involed, but I know how this version is well known too, but, again, I didn't like it. And it felt kinda out of character for Vegeta to only rely on some machine for getting a new Super Saiyan transformation considering his character would usually train as hard as he can and achieve it that way as a way of proving himself to be stronger than everyone else. I know they were in a desperate situation and sometimes he does swallow his pride and try something kinda similar if it means finishing the villain, but it was still done weird here. Although, I'm not gonna lie, the actual ending is really nice. I like how it ends with being kinda bitter sweet with Goku probably leaving forever with Shenron and Pan finds his clothes and Vegeta says goodbye to her and so on. Not gonna lie, probably because I'm a huge Dragon Ball fan and I already love these characters, it actually did get me a bit emotional when it ended. It's really weird because I really, really, really didn't like watching this at all, but something about it made me kinda emotional inside to see it end. And then the actual ending shows Pan as an old lady with her grandson Goku Jr. and he's in another World Martial Arts Tournament, and yeah, that's the end of Dragon Ball GT. It was cancelled after that and I kinda wonder if they knew it was gonna be cancelled and just wanted to wrap everything up, but it doesn't really matter. But, anyway, yeah, that was Dragon Ball GT. I know I always talk about how I was always happy with watching a series whenever I make any of these reviews, yeah, this is completely different because I knew exactly what this series was gonna be, but I think it was maybe a little bit worse than I thought because, even with the things people said they liked and said were okay, I didn't find any enjoyment in myself. Sure, there were some cool ideas and interesting concepts, but, that's really all I have to say for any positives, the rest of the series as a whole is exactly what not to do with a sequel series for an anime. I was mostly just bored and annoyed with so much of this series. The series is only 64 episodes, literally the same amount of episodes of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, but unlike the complete masterpiece that is that series, this show felt like a drag the whole time. Yeah, I know it's weird that I did watch this knowing what it was going to be, but I was at the very least curious about it and I disliked it so much. As a massive fan of Dragon Ball, this was just such a let-down and following these characters was harder this time than any other. Like I said, Pan herself was a character I found to be one of the most annoying in the whole franchise and other new characters they meet were just as annoying too. And it was a shame that the action scenes were so, so boring considering this is the Dragon Ball series, which, again, has some of the most famous action scenes in anime history. Not to mention other things similar to that like the animation. I found the animation in this series weird because everything had this weird dark, shadowy look to it and it was really weird. Speaking of bad animation, the episode I mentioned earlier with Frieza and Cell is pretty infamous for making Cell look weird as well and, yeah, Cell looks really weird when he reappears. Something about the shape of his head looked really bad with the animation quality. And the fact that there was no manga to adapt from makes the pacing even worse because the writers could have done a lot with this but they chose to use dumb storylines. I will say, one of the actual things I do love in this is Vegeta himself. Even though he does have some moments that're out of character and him having a moustache for the beginning is so weird, but he does have a lot of great moments and does feel like a good continuation for his character, mostly. But, really, him being good for a lot of this doesn't save the rest and the best I can say is that I'm glad Dragon Ball Super now exists that now completely retcons this series. So, yeah, I'm obviously suggesting that you don't check this series out. And, yeah, guys, that's my review for Dragon Ball GT. My Kingdom Hearts Kairi Formation Arts figure (Review)

So, yesterday, my newest Kingdom Hearts figure arrived. This one being my Formation Arts figure of Kingdom Hearts Kairi. And, the main reason I wanted to get this was the fact that it's a figure of Kairi from the first Kingdom Hearts game which means I now have figures of Kairi from Kingdom Hearts 1, 2 and 3. Not to mention, I also now have figures of Sora, Riku and Kairi from those games as well. Also, this figure is from a set that has a whole bunch of different kinds in it. I explain more in this video, so I'll just get right to it, but, here, I'll just say that I'm so happy and excited to have it as well as having all these figures together. And so, here it is and I hope you all like this.

Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon (Anime Review)

So, guys, again, I know these have been really inconsistent with when I do them, but I'm back with another anime review, this time, it being the sequel series to Inuyasha, Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon. I've spoken about this series a lot, but, recently I got the entire series on DVD and was able to watch the entire series. Like I mentioned a lot before, I had seen a lot of clips from it on YouTube before I began that made me really excited to start it. Not to mention the fact that I had finished watching all of Inuyasha earlier this year and I really, really enjoyed that, so all that was getting me super hyped to start the series properly. And, so, in the end, while I don't think I loved it the way I thought I would, I really had an amazing time with this series. Like, really, this series made me feel things I haven't felt while watching a show in a long time and that I love having when I'm really enjoying a series. I absolutely loved watching this. That's not to say it's a really ground-breaking show or anything and that it doesn't have problems, it does, but, overall, I'm so glad I watched this. Also, like I do with all my anime reviews, this will have full spoilers for the whole series, so, if you want to see it first without spoilers, go watch it then come back and read this. So, the basic plot of this is that the main character is a girl named Towa, who's actually Sesshomaru and Rin's daughter who's living in the modern times with Kagome's family, the Higurashi's. Kagome's brother, Sota, took her in years ago when she was a small girl and she's now 14. She's also been trying to find her twin sister, Setsuna, who she lost in a forest. But, Setsuna is back in the feudal era. Both of them don't know anything about their parents, but, one day, Setsuna goes through the Tree Of Ages to modern day Japan where she meets Towa again. She also came with Moroha, Inuyasha and Kagome's daughter, and they get welcomed by the family, but they're eventually able to get back to the feudal era and live there with Towa now obsessed with being with Setsuna no matter what with the two of them and Moroha doing jobs as Bounty Hunters and doing all sorts of jobs while also trying to find out what happened to their parents and also trying to help Setsuna recover her sleep because her dreams were taken by something called a Dream Butterfly, all while they're being hunted by a demon named Kirinmaru. So, I guess if you were just going into the series and just started off with the first few episodes, you might think there's not a lot going on, and that's definitely what I thought initially because the first few episodes mostly just consist of Towa, Setsuna and Moroha going on different missions and we just see their different interactions as they're doing it. And, while I imagine some might not find that very appealing to everyone, for me, I enjoyed these three characters so much that I didn't mind at all. It's like what I said in my Inuyasha review, the main thing I enjoyed about the whole travelling aspect to this were the characters' personalities along the way. And these are honestly some of the most fun anime characters I've watched in a while. Following Towa, Setsuna and Moroha through this journey was a lot of fun and watching them interact was great to watch too. Especially given how they are different like Towa being kind and innocent and way more open but also really curious about how life in the feudal era works, Setsuna being kinda mean at times and acting super tough and stubborn but still having a soft side more so than Sesshomaru since she shows her soft side more and Moroha being like a combination of Inuyasha and Kagome with Inuyasha's stubbornness at times but being more kind like Kagome and having a bit of a mischievous side. And I loved the dynamic they all had. But, yeah, I could see why maybe the first few episodes wouldn't get people hooked immediately because it does just consist of the three of them doing random jobs, especially if you weren't already big fan of the franchise. But, even in those early episodes, there were small hints showing the bigger picture of what was happening and that was really interesting, especially in regards to the Rainbow Pearls, these seven different tiny jewels that the three girls have three of. We learn that there's more and that Kirinmaru is looking for them for more power along with his henchmen like Zero, this woman who's explored more later on. And we also meet a guy named Riku who begins to have an interest in Towa but we learn that he's actually a part of Kirinmaru and is in league with him. But I think the series really picks up more when we see a bit more of the Inuyasha characters reappear like we see Miroku and Sango come back with their kids who we saw briefly at the end of the original series who are now Demon Slayers and their kids even team up with the three of them from time to time and I enjoyed that. But it was also around this time we learn some more things, like how Towa is like Inuyasha, in the sense that when there's a New Moon, she loses her demon powers and takes on a human form for a while and we also learn about this demon who was actually the one responsible for Towa and Setsuna being separated when they were younger by burning down the forest they were in and, from that point, we start to learn a whole lot more like how Rin is actually inside the Tree Of Ages and is being frozen there because of something Zero placed on her that would cause her body to be covered in crystals and her life is actually tied to Zero which means they can't kill her. And that led to the ending of Season 1 where Towa, Setsuna and Moroha actually see Kirinmaru and they have a fight with him that ends terribly and even Setsuna ends up dying which causes both Towa and Moroha to go nuts on him.

And, even though they lose, Towa is able to save Setsuna when Sesshomaru shows up and gives her the Tenseiga to use to save her and that was pretty cool too. And that's when we also learn that Sesshomaru actually trapped both Inuyasha and Kagome inside a black pearl where Inuyasha and Sesshomaru's dad's grave is. But the real big turning point is when we're introduced to Rion, this girl who we learn is actually Kirinmaru's daughter and is apparently already dead, and is just using some fake body at the moment. But, to get to her in the first place, the three of them have to go up some mountain that begins to bring them to different places. For Moroha for example, she actually gets flung into the place where Inuyasha and Kagome are and we even see them for a brief moment.

And that was cool to see happen, but then when they get to Rion, they decide to help her out by bringing her along. The next couple of episodes almost kinda feel like a tiny bit of filler like Moroha helping Takechiyo, this small racoon dog demon who's with Moroha and the others a lot, and Setsuna helping out a princess they met earlier in the series. But the series really begins to come to a close around the time when Towa gets kidnapped by Zero and another demon who begin to make her feel such deep sadness and pain that she transforms into her true demon form and begins to not care about anything so she almost kills Zero which Setsuna is able to stop because she knows about Zero's connection to Rin which woulda caused her to die, so she's able to get Towa back to normal. And we also learn that the Rainbow Pearls were actually made from Zero's tears and they're able to turn her good briefly after Setsuna is able to sever her connection to Rin but then Riku kills her. Also, yeah, at this point, Riku's kinda become a good guy. I dunno, that part kinda confused me a little bit. Not him killing Zero, just the point of when he became a good guy because he seemed like he was just using and lying to a lot of the characters through most of the series, so I'm not exactly sure at which point he turned good. But then, we get a really awesome moment when Rin wakes up from being freed and then Towa, Setsuna and Moroha try to fight Kirinmaru again but then Sesshomaru shows up and fights him himself and sends the three of them inside the black pearl and Kirinmaru is able to drain him of his energy. Yeah, that whole part was really cool and it felt like the plot was moving along in really interesting ways. I love when an anime plot is able to do that. But, from there, Moroha and the others finally get to see Inuyasha and Kagome. The moment that was being built up for so long and we finally got to see it.

And we get a lot of great moment from that too like Towa telling Kagome about her family and other things like that, but, they're eventually able to escape which leads to Towa and Setsuna reuniting with Sesshomaru and Rin with Towa able to save Sesshomaru. Again, just really great placements of events that I feel are really well thought out. And, not only do they have to deal with Kirinmaru, but they also have to deal with some comet that Kirinmaru is trying to destroy to prove that he's the strongest that's apparently in the other time so the three girls go there to try to stop it and it's even revealed that one of Towa's teachers is actually Kirinmaru's arm given a new body. And I was kinda wondering for a while whether or not he was gonna be a good guy or villain because he does help the girls out and does seem like he wants to save everyone, but, after he helps destroy a bit of the comet, he brings it back to the feudal era where he tries to use Rion to destory the place and all demons like Inuyasha and Sesshomaru. so they manage to get back while also learning that Mr. Kirin, as in the teacher, is hoping to create some new world for Rion with the comet. And, in this ending climax, we get a whole bunch of great moments like when Towa fights him and Riku kinda sacrifices himself for her and the three of them manage to get Rion to show what she really wanted which makes Kirinmaru relent and then they sorta both die there with Rion even saving Towa when it looks like her demon power is completely drained. Then we get a nice ending with all of them reuniting.

Then, the final episode shows what everyone is doing now like Moroha and Inuyasha fighting together, Towa and Setsuna talking to Rin and it even revealing that Riku came back to life. That's definitely something that felt like a bit of a cop-out, but it did give us a nice moment between him and Towa. And then the actual final moment with Towa, Setsuna and Moroha talking on the beach was nice and sweet.

And then I think the series just kinda ends with that. I say that because it really does feel like the show just finishes up completely there. I've been wondering for a while if there's gonna be a Season 3, but, for me, it doesn't really look like it because everything seemingly wraps up there with everything that was being set up answered and doesn't really add anything to be explored later on. If there is more, I'd definitely be curious to check it out and see more of these characters, but, for these first two seasons alone, I had an absolutely amazing time with it. Again, it's like I said before, when I watched this, it gave me feelings of real investment in these characters and this plot as it was moving along and I love when a series gives me that feeling. Not to mention the fact that I did just really enjoy these characters so much. My favourite was either Moroha or Towa. I just found both to be extremely likeable and fun to watch. Same goes for the dub, I really loved a lot of the performances. Erica Mendez, Kira Buckland and Morgan Berry are perfect as Towa, Setsuna and Moroha, especially Morgan Berry as Moroha. I feel she did a fantastic job capturing Moroha's fun-loving and energetic side, as well as her more dramatic moments and she just fits the role flawlessly. And, even in the earlier episodes, which, like I said, did kinda feel like filler after a bit, but, because I enjoyed these characters so much, I didn't mind. Not to mention the fact that the series itself is only 48 episodes long, so it's not like it was all that long anyway. And, even then, just having the plot slowly progress in various ways was interesting, like when old characters from the original series show up like I said before like Miroku, Sango, Shippo and so on. And, even beyond that, there are times in those early episodes when they sorta introduce something small that I almost thought was kinda pointless, but some of those things actually do have relevance and has a way of coming back later on. And I just loved how this series just progressed in various ways and had so many amazing moments that gave me more appreciation for this franchise and it helped cement the fact that this franchise is somewhere up there as one of my favourite anime franchises of all time. I just loved this so much and it's a series I would love to watch again at some point. The animation as well is still amazing. I love how it still has the same style as the original series and takes it to higher levels. Again, I'm not really sure if there's gonna be more after this. Like I said, the ending really did feel like a definitive ending and didn't feel like there was much else left to do, but, again, if they do do more, I'd definitely check it out though I don't know if I'd do a second part to this review, I'm happy with just this one. But, anyway, yeah, overall, it's like I said at the start and even in other entries before now, I mentioned how I was so excited to get started on this series and I had a great time with it. So, yeah, I would recommend checking this out, especially if you already liked the Inuyasha franchise and I'm so glad this is part of that canon now. My Inuyasha collectible (Review)

So, this is a really late entry for me, but, last month for my birthday, I managed to get a collectible of Inuyasha himself to add to the collection of other Inuyasha characters I have. So it was cool to add him with Kagome and Moroha. Just having the three of them togther, along with the Towa and Setsuna ones I have just makes the lineup look even better, and this particular one I have is one I was trying to find for the longest time, but t was expensive wherever I looked, but I eventually got one that was for a good price and this means I've added another anime protagonist to the case. Also, speaking of Inuyasha, I recently managed to get the complete box set of Yashahime, so, once I'm finished, I'll definetely be making a review for it. And so, here it is and I hope you all like it.

So, this is a paintings entry I've been thinking of doing for a while and that's making one for Inuyasha characters. Like I said before, I finished the show a while back and did a review of it and I'm now in the middle of watching Yashahime and I'm really enjoying that. I'm definitely gonna do a review of it when I'm done and I might do a paintings entry for that too. But, for now, I wanted to do one for the main characters of Inuyasha and I'm pretty pleased with the way these turned out. As I said before, I really, really enjoyed Inuyasha so it was really fun to try to do these characters. And so, here they are and I hope you all like these.

Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 5 & 6 announcements

So guys, we were recently shown the projects for Phase 5 and 6 of the M.C.U. That's actually really surprising to me since we only just got started with Phase 4 last year and we're finishing it off now with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. So, I wanted to go over everything that was shown and give my thoughts on each one like I did when Phase 4 was shown three years ago. So, first off we finally got a trailer for Wakanda Forever and it honestly looks gorgeous. I'm not a huge fan of the editing done here, but the actual look to the film is incredible. We get to see T'Challa's mother narrating and we even see Shuri and Okoye again and we even get to see Namor. I heard him showing up was on people's minds and we finally get to see him, which is cool. Some people think we might see Doctor Doom here too, which would be even better to see since it would be amazing to finally see an M.C.U Doctor Doom. And, apprently T'Challa himself has been killed. This clearly to honour Chadwick Boseman, and it's tragic to see it. Anyway, here it is.

So, that looks incredible and I'm super hyped for it. And so, that's gonna be the end of Phase 4. Then, next year, Phase 5 is starting with Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania. I guess I'm decently excited for this, just not super hyped since I haven't been the biggest fan of the previous Ant-Man movies, but, the big thing about this is that we'll be seeing Kang in it again, even though I wasn't mad about him at the end of Loki, I am still excited to see more of him and seeing him in the movies is cool to think about, and I'm sure Paul Rudd will still be fantastic as Scott. Speaking of, the film with also centre around Scott having an ego after helping to save the world in Endgame an he's drifted away from everyone he knows because of it. That's a weird one since his story in the first two movies was all around seeing Casey, so having that not be a focus anymore is odd, but it's interesting. I feel like it might be like Tony where he has to learn about humility and letting go of his ego, which is odd to think about. Anyway, that'll be released February 17th next year, so I'm curious to see it. Next is Secret Invasion, which will be a Disney+ show around Spring next year. In the comics that was a fight between the Avengers and the Skrulls, but, seeing as the Skrulls are good in the M.C.U, so I'm wondering how that's gonna work here. Still, I'm excited to see Talos again and I'm sure Nick Fury will be back so I can't wait to see more of them and more of them together. Afterwards, we have Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3 on the 5th of May next year. I'm very, very excited for this. I love the Guardians movies and having everyone come back for them is great to see. There was a teaser at the Con that showed the Guardians together except Rocket. I sorta interpreted this as Rocket is gonna die, which is what I've thought about for the longest time. I sorta felt that if any of these characters were gonna die in the third movie then it was probably gonna be Rocket. Plus, we'll be seeing Adam Warlock in this since he was teased at the end of the last film. So, definitely excited for this, one of my most anticipated projects announced. The next thing coming next year is the Disney+ show for Echo. Echo was a character in the Hawkeye show last year. Still hoping to do a review for that, but, I liked Echo in the show, but I do think her having her own show is weird. I don't think it's really necessary to give her a show. I think she worked fine as she did in the Hawkeye show and I don't think she really needs an entire series dedicated to her. So, this'll be out around Summer next year. Around the same time, we're also getting Loki: Season 2. I've seen some set photos for this and given how I really enjoyed Season 1, I'm excited for this. I'm kinda curious to know how this is gonna work since we saw what happened at the end of the last season so I'm curious to know where they're gonna go from there. But, I'm excited for more Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson back as Loki and Mobius, so I can't wait for more. Then, the next movie next year will be The Marvels. I thought Captin Marvel was just an okay movie and the Ms. Marvel show finished recently and I enjoyed it, again, I'll try to get these Disney+ shows reviews out soon, but I enoyed Ms. Marvel for what it was and so seeing more sounds like fun. And the last movie of next year will be Blade. I'm super hyped for this. It'll be exciting to see Blade in the M.C.U and I'm curious to know how they'll do this character in the M.C.U. The next two shows of 2023 will be Ironheart and Agatha: Coven Of Chaos. I don know anything about Ironheart from the comics, but I know about her being a hero like Tony with her own Iron Man suit, but not anything else, so it'll be interesting to her in live action, especially since she's a character that was created six year ago, so, it'll be cool. As for Agatha: Coven Of Chaos, this is like Echo for me in the sense that I don't think this is show I don't think needs to be made because Agatha was just a teeny tiny for the WandaVision as the main villain, but having a show centred on her really doesn't seem necessary. Still, having a villain at the centre makes me curious. Then, for 2024, the first thing is my most anticipated thing, Daredevil: Born Again. I am so, so, so excited for this. Having Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Nofrio back as Matt and Fisk is so beyond exciting and they'll be interacting with the larger M.C.U. It was awesome seeing them in No Way Home and Hawkeye, so having them back for a Disney+ show is so exciting. I am a little worried this won't be like the Netflix shows so that does make me a little cautious, but it's still so exciting to have them back and it's cool that it's called Born Again. It's obviously refering to the fact that he's back in the M.C.U, but it's also the title for the best Daredevil comic ever, so, I'm curious to know what they're gonna do. And it's cool that it's 18 episodes long. So, overall, very, very excited for this. Then, on the 3rd of May will be Captain America: New World Order. This will clearly be Sam's movie and so this'll be interesting since this'll be the fourth Captain America movie and not have Steve in it. I have a feeling this'll be very similar to The Falcon And The Winter Soldier in terms of style and all that. So, if it's like that, I'm excited for it. I'd mostly be excited to see more of Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan As Sam and Bucky and more of their banter. So, yeah, can't wait. Afterwards, on July 25th 2024, we're getting the Thunderbolts movie. This'll definitely be centred around villains given the name and also from what we've seen in the movies and shows. I assume we'll be seeing John Walker, Yelena and Aomination in it or something like that anyway. I doubt Yelena will be in it as an actual villain, but she might be in it. Then, on November 8th, we'll be getting the Fantastic Four movie, I'm incredibly excited for this. I love that we're finally gonna be getting the Fantastic Four in the M.C.U and I can't wait to see it. We'll probably see John Krasinski return as Mr. Fantastic and I can't wait to see him again. It was awesome to see him in Multiverse Of Madness so I can't wait to see him again. I'm curious to know who's gonna direct this because Jon Watts was originally gonna do it but now he's not anymore, so, I'm curious to know what they're gonna do. And so, yeah, super pumped fo this. Then, the big one, we'll be getting two Avengers movies the same year, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. That's really exciting. It's kinda weird that they're both out the same year, but that's also interesting. And I'm curious to know what the team will be like at that time since the X-Men will probably be introduced around that time too along with everyone else. Not only that, but it was also announced that Destin Daniel Cretton will be directing this, as in the director of Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings. So, that's really exciting. I thought he did a fantastic job with Shang-Chi, so I can't wait to see what he does here. And, we'll be focusing more on Kang, which is awesome, so, I'm really excited for this. And so, yeah, that's all the news we got about Phases 5 and 6 of the M.C.U and I'm really excited for a lot of these. In terms of my most anticipated, like I said, probably Daredevil: Born Again, but both Avengers movies are super exciting too. It'll be exciting to see Charlie Cox again, especially since he's gonna be in She-Hulk, and we got a trailer for that too.

Sora's visit to Disneyland 2022

So, recently, for my birthday, my Mam took me to Disneyland and, just like in 2017, I took my Sora costume and wanted to get photos with characters there as him, and I think it was a great success. I had a great time and I did get a whole bunch of great photos along the way. I also managaed to do rides with it on too that're like the attractions from Kingdom Hearts 3 and I liked being able to do that too. So, I made this tiny slideshow video on my YouTube channel showing all the pictures I got as well as showing the references next to them whenever I did reference something. I just thought it would be fun to do and I really liked this so much that I wanted to share these with everyone. And so, here it is and I hope you all like this.

Thor: Love And Thunder

So, everyone, we reached my most anticipated M.C.U project of 2022, Thor: Love And Thunder. Out of all the M.C.U movies and shows this year, this was the one I was most excited for. It was the first time a solo character from the series was having a fourth movie and Taika Waititi was returning to direct, not to mention the cast, both old and new, were looking really promising. They were also using a pretty interesting comic storyline. However, I hadn't heard great things about this film before seeing it, like, it didn't have a great rating on Rotten Tomatoes. So, did the film live up to my expectations? Honestly, not really. I liked it fine, but there were some things I wasn't a fan of and it is an M.C.U movie I wouldn't place really high. But, I did have fun with it and it did leave me with a lot of great things to remember and it is still good regardless. And, like always, this will have no spoilers for the start, then I'll do a spoiler section afterwards. So, what's the story? Thor is hearing stories about a new villain named Gorr The God Butcher, played by Christian Bale, who's trying to murder all gods, so, Thor tries to raise an army to stop him while Jane has returned with Mjolnir and now they're trying to protect the new Asgard as well. So, yeah, that's enough for now. So, a fairly common criticism I was hearing from this was that it was apparently a lot like Ragnarok and I was curious to know what people were talking about, and, after seeing, I can see what they meant. There were specific moments that reminded of that film and it felt like they were trying to recapture the feeling of that film. Something else about Ragnarok that was noticeable here was the constant comedy. I personally never thought Ragnarok had too many jokes. I thought it had a perfect balance of comedy and heart to it. But, here, I thought it did go a little too hard into trying to be funny. There are definitely dramatic moments, some of which actually did almost make me cry, but, the comedy just went a bit overboard for me. I also don't think the pacing is great here. Unlike Ragnarok, which also had a fast pace, it kinda felt like this one went by a little too fast. That might be because this film is kinda short so they probably cut a fair amount of things out, but the film did already kinda feel pretty long as it was. But, with all those problems said, there is still a load of things I absolutely loved here. For one, clearly, the performances were fantastic here. Chris Hemsworth is of course fantastic as Thor again like he's always been, and this is my favourite version of Jane in the M.C.U, as well as my favourite Natalie Portman performance as her. This is also the first movie that actually made me like Thor and Jane's relationship and I thought they worked really well together, and Tessa Thompson and Taika Waititi are both great again. I also loved the inclusion of new characters like Russell Crowe as Zeus, who was really funny and on the right level of being a huge douche but you still like him. However, honestly, the best part about the film in my opinion is Gorr. This guy is honestly one of my favourite M.C.U villains. Christian Bale does a really great job as the character and he's actually really sympathetic. You understand why he's doing what he's doing and there are a good amount of scenes that do make you feel bad for him, especially towards the end, and he is super intimidating. I'd say he's my second favourite Thor villain next to Loki. And, even though I think there's a bit too much comedy, the comedy is still funny a lot of the time. The film is also super well directed with the colours and cinematography just like Ragnarok and Waititi continues to be one of the most unique directors of the M.C.U with some amazing shots and making the film super colourful. The film also has some surprises that I didn't see coming. Some are actually kinda undercut by something happening, so some moments like that felt kinda pointless, but there are still some moments I didn't expect to see happen. I also felt like the film did do well with some character arcs here, especially with Jane. I also enjoyed the Guardians inclusion here. They're not in this a ton, though, I didn't expect them to be, but what we got was really fun, and the ending actually did almost make me cry because of how sorry you feel for Gorr. So, overall, I mostly just thought Thor: Love And Thunder was a bit of a mixed bag. I'm more postive than negative with this, but, yeah, I personally had a good amount of problems with this and the problem people had with Ragnarok with that being too funny was a lot more prevalent here. There were also some tiny moments throughout that I wasn't the biggest fan of and that also kinda brought my enjoyment of this down a small bit. But, yeah, I'd put this film next to Ragnarok as my second favourite Thor movie. Thank you all for reading and please comment down below to tell me what you think. Okay, so the first main thing I guess would be the whole introduction with Gorr. This is what I was talking about with his character being really sympathetic. I already knew what his backstory was from the comics, so it was nice to see it in the film. And the part about Jane having cancer and thinking Mjolnir could heal her, while I felt a part of that didn't work out great until the end, it was still something I thought was pretty tragic as it went on when we learn more about it. As for the Asgard kids, I thought they were fine. I thought the performances were fine, but I did really like Kieron L. Dyer as Axl. I thought it was cool that we learn that Heimdall had a son and I really liked him. Now, the part of the film that I mentioned I thought they did a good job with emotionally but the kinda ruined was when it looked like Korg died. I honestly thought he was dead for real. I think they should have gone with him dying because it was then interrupted with him not dying and adding another joke to it. It wasn't terrible, it just felt like a tonal inconsistency. Same with Valkyrie, I thought she was gonna die, but it was nice she didn't since she's one of the most likeable characters in these movies. And then the actual ending with Gorr trying to get Stormbreaker and wish for the death of the gods was pretty cool too. I did think it was kinda weird how all the kids get powers, but the actual fight with Thor and Jane vs. Gorr was pretty cool. And it was around there I thought Gorr was pretty intimidating. And then the actual ending, I actually didn't expect Jane to actual die, though that was a good scene and it was pretty sad, same with Gorr and his daughter. I like how he got her back and him dying was really emotional. I thought Bale did a great job in that scene. And I like how Thor decided to take in Gorr's daughter as his own. It was pretty cool to see where the title came from with that. And then, for the mid credit scene, I loved it. We get to see Zeus survived his fight with Thor and we even get to see Hercules. That was awesome. He's being played by someone named Brett Goldstein and it looks cool. It's really cool to have the Marvel version of Hercules in the M.C.U. I assume he'll be a small villain in the next Thor movie and become an ally at some point. And then, the end credit scene, it was nice to see Idris Elba back as Heimdall and having him and Jane meet again was nice and it was just cool to see Jane in Valhalla. And, that's about it really, those scenes and all that made me happy to see the film, but it's still a movie I don't think I'd wanna watch that many more times. My tribute to Kazuki Takahashi

So, just today, we were told absolutely devastating news that Kazuki Takahashi, the creator of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, tragically passed away a while ago in a diving accident. I couldn't believe it when I heard it because the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise has been something I've been a gigantic fan of for a long, long time and Takahashi himself has been one of my favourite manga artists for a long time too. It was technically my first ever anime and I've loved the entire franchise ever since the beginning, as you all know if you've seen my reviews the different series. But, yeah, I was crushed when I heard and so I wanted to make this tribute video for him and thanking him for creating something I've been a fan of for a long time, as well as just talking about my huge respect for him and his incredible work. And, what makes it even more heart breaking is the fact that he was only 60 years old, which means he still had a lot of time left and it's crushing that this is after happening, and I'm so glad I've known his work for as long as I have and the fact that it was a Shonen Jump property makes that even more apparent. Anyway, here's the video and I just want to say, rest in peace, Kazuki Takahashi.

My Kagome Higurashi collectible (Review)

So, the other day, I was able to get another cllectible from the Inuyasha franchise, and this time, it was Kagome. I've been wanting to get this one for a while because I am trying to get both Inuyasha and Kagome together, even though it would be cool if there were ones for Miroku, Sango and Shippo too, but, at the moment, in terms of the main group of the original series, there's just Inuyasha and Kagome made ones, and so, I thoguht it'd be cool to try to get both of them since I already have the ones of Towa, Setsuna and Moroha, especially Moroha, so it'll be cool to have her, Kagome and Inuyasha together. I actually found a cheap collectible of Inuyasha and ordered it, so I'm excited for when that one arrives since that means I'll also have another anime protagonist added too. Anyway, at the moment, this Kagome one is my new one and I'm always happy to be getting more of these. And so, here it is and I hope you all like it.
