My Brook collectible (Review)

So guys, this one is pretty special because I got another anime collectible last week, but, not only that, but, it was actually Brook from One Piece and the reason that's special is because Brook was the last of the Straw Hat Pirates I needed because I now have them all. This was really cool because he's actually a lot small than I thought, so he fits into my display case of anime collectibles greatly and so it's great to have him and the others all together. This also completes another anime group in terms of these collectibles as well. I explain in more detail in the video, but, I'm just super glad to have finally gotten all of them, especially since I've technically been starting this collection since around November 2019 when I got that first Luffy collectible. Anyway, here it is and I hope you all like this.

Strange World

So guys, we've arrived at the newest Disney Classic and one I wasn't super excited for, Strange World. I didn't think the trailers for this look impressive some of it was looking pretty generic to me. And I also hadn't heard great things about the movie before seeing it, but a part of me was still curious and hopeful for this movie anyway. So, in the end, honestly, I really, really didn't like this movie and thought it was pretty bad. Which, knowing me, that's really saying something considering how much of a Disney supporter and fan I am, but, yeah, I thought this was the first truly bad Disney movie I've seen in a while. There's just a lot in this that I really didn't like and thought was really poorly done and pretty annoying and generic as well. Also, I'll be going full spoilers from the beginning because I really don't have much to talk about with this film and I feel it's the only way I can talk about it. So, what's the story? In a quiet land, a guy named Searcher discovered a plant that caused his entire place to gain electricity and now the whole place is thriving despite his dad being an explorer who was desperately trying to reach the end of some mountains and hasn't heard from him since. Searcher is also now married with a son and is well famous where he lives but he soon discovers that the electricity is in danger from its source, so, he decides to go with some people to find out why while his family comes along and they discover another land underneath the ground and they try to find the root of the problem. Okay, so, I guess I'll get some of the few things I liked out of the way. The animation is of course spectacular. Even in Disney movies people don't like, they at least acknowledge that the animation is top-tier and unmatched by any other studio besides Pixar. The cast as well is pretty good, especially Jake Gyllenhaal as Searcher, it was cool to have Jake Gyllenhaal in a Disney movie and I think he did the best he could. But, his talent really couldn't save the character from the writing, and we're just gonna head straight into the things I didn't like. This will probably just be a rapid fire of all the things I didn't like because, like I said, I don't really have that much to say about this movie. So, first off, I didn't really like any of the characters in this, they were all either really annoying or frustrating to watch or clichéd. I thought all of them had a generic character arc like how Searcher didn't want to be like his dad and tries to prove himself, especially to his son Ethan, but then has to learn that Ethan doesn't want to be like him either and just wants to do his own thing. Speaking of, I think Ethan was probably my least favourite character in the movie because a lot of what he did was generic and just made the character look pretty stupid. It was pretty frustrating watching him do one dumb mistake after another and just having him whine the whole time got really annoying really quickly, and it was even more annoying considering how everything he did was predictable and they didn't really try to do anything new with him. I also noticed some pretty major plot holes in the movie like when Searcher's wife said she's never flown or seen some specific kind of plane before but then as soon as she tries to pilot it, she somehow knows exactly what to do. Speaking of, I mentioned how a lot of the characters had generic character arcs like when Jaeger, as in Searcher's dad, was obviously gonna see the error in his ways and realise he was spending too much time on what he wanted and not seeing what was most important, and, for the most part, I was right. There's also some absolutely terrible and stupid moments and scenes in this like when Ethan, Searcher and Jaeger are playing some card game, that scene was really, really stupid and really cringey. Again, it just kinda made the characters look really stupid and kinda selfish as well so a lot of what was happening just made it really hard to get invested in these characters or this plot in general. And, another moment similar to that is when Searcher misunderstands what Ethan was saying and thinks Jaeger is getting to him and that causes Ethan to storm off, and what made that even more annoying was that this was near the end when they were at the place they were trying to get at, so seeing him storm off like that in the worst possible place just made it even dumber and therefore, just kinda hard to root for any of these guys. I also felt the pacing was really bad, especially in the beginning where it felt like it just got into the main story really, really quickly with that other lady coming to talk to Searcher and get him to come along. A lot of that felt really quick and felt like it was going insanely fast. And, as for the other world itself, I dunno, it didn't seem that interesting, it just kinda felt like a boring place with some weird stuff in it, nothing about it really stood out to me. I guess some stuff in the climax was kinda cool. They did kinda have a little bit of an interesting idea with the idea of actually living on the back of a creature and they realised they've been harming it the whole time and they realise they need to help it, that wasn't bad and had some interesting concepts, but, because I didn't really care about any of the characters involved or just this world in general, a lot of it just felt really empty to me. Really, a lot of this movie just didn't grab me and I was really just waiting for this movie to end. Actually, it's kinda weird because I was constantly waiting for the movie to end, but, as I was nearing the end, I thought back to the first 10 minutes of the film and it didn't feel like I was in the cinema for that long despite the movie being an hour and 42 minutes long, so, it was a weird case of not feeling like I was there for that long but still just waiting for the movie to end because I really wasn't enjoying myself. Really, I know this review was way shorter than my reviews usually are, especially Disney movie reviews, but, like I said, I didn't have that much to talk about. So, overall, like I said, I really, really didn't like this movie and thought it was the first bad Disney Classic in a long while. From what I heard, the movie is pretty much bombing at the box office right now and I'd be lying if I said I didn't see why. Actually, what makes it even more sad for me about this film is that it was directed by Don Hall, as in the same guy who's directed some of my favourite Disney movies of all time like Big Hero 6 and Raya And The Last Dragon, so to have him go from those to this just makes it sadder for me, so I'm hoping his next Disney movie will be an improvement. So, yeah, I guess if you're the least bit curious, maybe check this out, but, personally, I never really want to watch this film again. So, I was probably kinda harsh on this film, but considering how much of a Disney fan I am and how amazing their track record for making amazing animated Classics is, this was just a huge disappointment for me. My Minoru Mineta collectible (Review)

So, a few days ago, I was finally able to get the last My Hero Academia Banpresto figure, Mineta. I've recently been getting a lot of these like Kamanari, Tsuyu and Yaoyorozu, and in that Yaoyorozu video I did, I mentioned how the only other character from Class 1A that was made into a Banpresto figure was Mineta and I was thankfully able to find one of him the day after I got the Yaoyorozu one and I was did a review for it as fast as I could because, not only do I really enjoy doing these videos, but I also mentioned in the last video that I was recently able to get a humungous jump in my subscriber count and how I'm trying to reach up to 1000 and I'm doing everything I can to try to make it up that high by the end of the year if I'm able, and I'm also making great progress by doing that with my Community posts as well because I'm posting polls almost everyday and then writing some other thing on my mind the other days. Anyway, as for this figure now, I'm super glad to have finally gotten him because it means I have all the current Class 1A characters that were made into Banpresto figures. I hope they make more at some point soon, but, at the moment, I have all the current ones and it's actually 10 of them despite there being 20 students as a whole. I hope they do ones for the other 10 later on. Anyway, here it is and I hope you all like this.

My Momo Yaoyorozu collectible (Review)

So, my most recent entry was my YouTube video showing my new anime collectibles of Kaminari, Tsuyu and Giorno. But, in it, I mentioned how one of the only last Banpresto figures for My Hero Academia characters were Yaoyorozu and Mineta. So, soon after I was able to get those figures I just mentioned, I was able to find and order a good priced version of Yaoyorozu and she arrived a few days ago and, not only did I do a review of it, but somehow, it got noticed by a whole bunch of people and helped raise my subscriber count up a huge amount so now my count is at 810, which means I'm getting close to reaching 1000 subscribers and I'm really happy since at the start of this year, I was just a little over 300 and now I'm here. I mean, when I did my review of that Josuke collectible I did last month, that helped a substantial amount too, so, I'm hoping to keep doing well with these and eventually raise my subscriber count up as high as I can. Again, how that many people manage to see my videos like that is a good question and it's especially super rare, but I'm really happy, and, when I did that Josuke one I just mentioned, I got enough subscribers to unlock the Community tab on my YouTube channel. Not sure if I mentioned that before, but, I'm super happy about it and I write on it everyday and I'm so excited to keep going. Anyway, with this video alone, I'm really happy to have this figure. It's another student from Class 1A and the ninth one I have. For some reason, they only did 10 students from Class 1A even though there's 20 students all together, so it's weird they didn't try to do ones for the other 10. Anyway, I'm also super happy and impressed with Banpresto's collectibles and how accurate they can make them to the actual look of the character, even if this one of Yaoyorozu is pretty basic and not anything out of the ordinary. My Denki Kaminari, Asui Tsuyu and Giorno Giovanna collectibles (Review)

So, guys, recently, I was able to get more Banpresto figures of My Hero Academia characters like Kaminari and Tsuyu. I've been trying to get more characters from Class 1A recently because I would love to get all the Banpresto figures of all the students. Not every student were made into figures, in fact, only half of them were, but I want to try to get as many of them as I can. Now that I have these two, I now have 8 and I just need to get two more so, I'm excited to try to get them. But, not only them, I was also recently able to get a collectible of Giorno Giovana from part 5 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Golden Wind. I was able to add another JoJo to the case I have alongside Josuke. And, what I'm excited about with this is that the last bit of episodes of the Stone Ocean anime will be out in a few weeks, so I'm excited to watch them and finally finish it so I can do reviews of it along with Diamond Is Unbreakable and Golden Wind. I'm really excited to finally do reviews for them and it's just awesome to have another JoJo in the case. Anyway, here they are and I hope you all like this.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

So guys, we're at the newest M.C.U movie and one that was gonna turn out interesting, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. I say that because of the fact that this was a film being made after Chadwick Boseman passed away. Ryan Coogler admitted that he actually died shortly after he wrote the original script for this and he had to rewrite the entire thing to not include him and so it was gonna be pretty tragic to watch this since it was a new comic book movie that was a sequel to a movie that was really successful and Boseman had become incredibly synonymous with the character. And, so, in the end, I'm super happy with the end result. As a film that I can imagine must have been very difficult to make since the passing, I think they did the best thing they could have done. I would say this is my favourite M.C.U project this year. This is definitely one of the most emotional M.C.U movies yet. So, let's get into this, and, like always, this will have no spoilers for the first part and then I'll go into all the spoilers afterwards. So, what's the story? After the passing of T'Challa, Wakanda is struggling, especially now that other countries are trying to get access to their Vibranium. Not only that, but they're now also having to deal with a new enemy named Namor, played by Tenoch Huerta, so now, Shuri is trying to step up and take care of things now that things are the way they are. So, like I said, this is already one of the most emotional M.C.U movies because they sorta use the fact that Boseman died as a piece of emotion for the movie because the characters in the movie are constantly feeling T'Challa's absence and it's very emotional because we feel the same way due to the real life event that happened as well. But it doesn't just rely on that, this movie is also phenomenal when it comes to character development because the characters are having to go through a lot in this movie, and, by a lot, I'm also talking about how this movie pretty long. I personally didn't mind because I never really noticed how long this movie was, which is a credit to how well paced the movie is, but also just how well the character development is because we watch them go through tons of development in this. Also, I feel like this movie did right what Eternals did wrong last year. When I saw Eternals, it felt like that movie was trying to make it so that it would be a slow burn so it could build the characters, but I don't think it worked because none of the characters were interesting there, but this movie knew exactly how to do it to make all the characters interesting and I never found it boring. The casting is also incredible here. The first Black Panther movie I think is one of the best performed M.C.U movies and this is exactly the same, everyone does a fantastic job, especially Angela Bassett as Ramonda, she's absolutely amazing in the movie and her performance carries a lot of this movie, especially one scene in particular in the Wakanda throne room, but Letita Wright also does an amazing job. She was one of my favourite aspects of the first movie and I loved her here, especially since she's the main character here and it's interesting how she was elevated from a side character in the first movie to the main character in this, and, yeah, in some other movies that happens and sometimes it doesn't work because sometimes they really were just written to be a side character and not the main focus, but the writing for her here made her a lot more interesting and Letita Wright did an amazing job, her performance also helps carry a lot of the emotion in the movie as well. The movie also just looks incredible. I feel like since they have a place like Wakanda as a setting for this movie, they can get a lot of amazing shots and do other things with the cinematography. Speaking of how the movie looks, the movie's C.G.I is also a lot better this time. The first movie's C.G.I is pretty infamous for not looking finished, especially during the climax, but this movie's C.G.I is a lot better most of the time, as well as the action scenes. There's some really good martial arts action in this and they do a good job with shooting it. There's nothing here that's super intense, but it's still really interesting to watch. I was also shocked to see the surprises in this. There's quite a few twists here and I didn't expect a few of them. I would also say this is the first comic book movie I've maybe ever seen to not have a costume reveal for a good while. This isn't really a spoiler because it was in the trailer, but, yeah, we don't get to see anyone in a superhero suit for a good portion of the movie. That's a lot of praise I've just talked about, but, as far as any problems, there's not many, just a few. For one, there's a few scenes here that I think could have been trimmed down a bit. Like I said, I didn't notice how long this movie really was, but a few scenes do go on a bit too long, one in particular involving exploring Namor's kingdom. It was interesting, but a bit of it didn't seem very necessary. Speaking of Namor, he's probably my main critique with the movie. Not much, and it's not like he's one of the worst M.C.U villains, but sometimes they spend a lot of time on him to help us understand him and his motivation and, while it is interesting, it's not as interesting as Killmonger was in the first movie. Killmonger still might be my favourite M.C.U villain ever because of just how much sympathy I have for him and everything else about him just made him so complex and interesting, and it feels like they wanted to do that again, but it didn't really feel the same, and, again, the fact that they spend a lot of time on him makes it all the more noticeable. Still though, the writing for him was still solid most of the time. Also, occasionally, the C.G.I doesn't look very good. Like I said, it's better than the last movie, but, especially involving one character in this, it's pretty hard to ignore. But, that's that really about it. So, overall, I had a really, really great time with this movie. As someone who loved the first Black Panther movie and was really excited for this, not to mention knowing how hard and tragic it must have been to make this movie given the circumstances, I loved it and I would say it's definitely my favourite M.C.U project this year. So, yeah, I would highly recommend checking this one out, I had a great time with it myself. And so guys, those are my thoughts on Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Okay, so, I was pretty surprised that they just cut right into the movie. Like, we didn't see any kinda title come up or the Marvel logo, it was just immediately into it with Shuri trying to find a cure for T'Challa and then it shows he died, then there's a funeral for him. It was nice to see that since it was a nice way to honour and respect Boseman and this is what I meant as the film being one of the most emotional M.C.U movies because they constantly think about that. Also, before seeing the movie, I was kinda wondering if they would include the Marvel logo at the beginning they made honouring Boseman they made for the version of Black Panther on Disney+, and they did. I thought it would be nice if they put that in here and they did, so it was really nice to see that. I also thought it was cool to have Iron Heart in this. I don't know much about the character, but I know a small bit and I think Dominique Thorne did a great job with the character. Though, the effects on the suit is what I meant by the C.G.I sometimes looking kinda weird. It was nice to see Martin Freeman back in this as Ross and I still really like him, though, I didn't expect Valentina to be in this. And, that whole scene where Shuri is in Namor's kingdom is what I meant by some of this was dragged out a bit. It felt like the whole exploring of that place went on a bit too long. And then the attack Namor does on Wakanda looked pretty cool and this starts the first twist I mentioned, I didn't expect Ramonda to die here and it was pretty surprising, though, I guess it kinda parallels when T'Chaka died in front of T'Challa and that's when they both become Black Panther. Speaking of, the biggest surprise for me was when Shuri is able to recreate the Heart Shaped Herb and goes to the Ancestral Plane and sees Killmonger there. I didn't expect to see him in this at all, but it was great to see him again and Michael B. Jordan did a fantastic job with him again. And then seeing Shuri becoming the new Black Panther was really awesome and I really liked the final battle. I liked how some of it got kinda brutal like when Shuri had to pull herself free of the spear, and the actual end of it with the jet exploding looked really cool. I also liked how this isn't another M.C.U movie where the main villain dies, I like how they managed to make an alliance out of the whole thing and it was nice to see. As far as the ending, it was fun to see M'Baku and the others back in Wakanda and Shuri's goodbye to Riri was nice and it was cool to see Okoye save Ross, though I do wonder how that's gonna work in the future with his role. But then Shuri remembering T'Challa was really nice and another nice way to honour Chadwick. But then, the mid credit scene, I loved it. It was really nice and really emotional. We got to see T'Challa and Nakia's son who's also named T'Challa and him meeting Shuri was really nice to see and emotional and when it faded and we saw text that said "Dedicated to our friend, Chadwick Boseman", the entire audience just applauded. I was pretty surprised there wasn't an end credit scene, mostly because I thought we were gonna get a Doctor Doom tease, but, this was still a nice way to honour Chadwick. So yeah, overall, I was just really satisfied after seeing this. So, yeah guys, that's my review of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Black Adam

So guys, we're at the latest DC.E.U movie, Black Adam. I actually saw this on the day of release here on the 22nd of October two weeks ago. I'm only doing this now because I wasn't entirely sure if I really wanted to do this. But, now I am and I'll also be doing full spoilers from the beginning because this has been out for about two weeks now and this is also a kinda hard movie to talk about without spoilers, so, if you don't want it spoiled, go watch it then come back and read this. So, this wasn't really a movie I was super hyped for. It looked fine, but nothing about it was really impressing me. I also just hadn't heard that much before seeing it and whatever I did hear wasn't great. I also just didn't have my hopes up for the movie at all because, since nothing was impressing me, I just wasn't all that excited for it. And so, in the end, yeah, I thought this was pretty bad. I don't know if I can say terrible, but, yeah, I just saw this as a bad film. There's a lot of problems I wanna talk about, but I'll go over the story first and I'll go into my general thoughts after. So, it starts by taking place a long time ago showing a the people of Kahndaq under the rule of a king until one of them gets powers and is able to overthrow him. Now, in modern times, he's seen as the hero of the country but it's now taken over by some organisation. Some lady is now trying to find anything to help the country and she discovers the tomb of the hero who's now called Black Adam, played by Dwayne Johnson. He decides to try to help but in brutal ways which gets the attention of the Justice Society like Hawkman, played by Aldis Hodge, Doctor Fate, played by Pierce Brosnan, Atom Smasher, played by Noah Centineo, and Cyclone, played by Quintessa Swindell, who are trying to stop him from going too far. And, I'm gonna stop there. So, immediately, I guess the first thing I should say is that I knew basically nothing about the character before seeing it, so, it was kinda nice having this be my introduction to him, and the main positive I can say is that Dwayne Johnson does pretty good with the material he's given, but, the main problem I have with him doesn't even have to do with him, it's the fact that he felt pretty wasted in the film. I felt like they didn't do anything with him that really made him or the character stand out. And, really, the main thing I took away from this film is that I thought it was really weird. I thought this was a really weirdly put together film, from the structure of the story to the pacing that felt really all over the place and the main problem I had with it was the characters. The fact that this film had so many characters in it and we didn't get to know anything about any of them. We learn a little bit about Black Adam himself, but, aside from that small bit, we know basically nothing about the other characters, especially in regards to the Justice Society. And the whole movie felt like it was really trying to force them into this, even though this is supposed to be Black Adam's own solo movie, it felt like they really wanted the Justice Society in this it felt really cluttered. It almost felt like the movie didn't know it was supposed to be a Black Adam movie and wanted to force the Justice Society in this despite the fact that we've never seen any of the members in DC.E.U movies before this. And, again, even in just this movie, we learn nothing about them. The only one we learn a little bit about is Cyclone, but, even then, that was really clumsily done with how it happened since we just hear her giving some exposition to Atom Smasher about what happened to her for a few seconds and it felt like such clumsy and lazy exposition. The movie is also just paced really weird. Like, as soon as Black Adam is freed and he has that action scene with all the soldiers, I just thought that this felt so weird with how it was told and paced and everything. I can't even explain it, just its placement in the film just made it so weird and just watching it play out in the movie felt so bizarre. That, and, also, the whole sequence of Black Adam joining in on the climax felt rushed as well. I also just didn't really care for any of the characters involved, especially the human family Black Adam stays with for the film, I didn't care for any of the characters like that. There's also some specific moments that I normally wouldn't notice, especially in a better movie, but, there's some really huge plotholes that never get answered, like what crime did the lady in the movie do that made her wanted and how did the organisation get a photo of her? There's also that moment when that one guy gets shot in that apartment and after he gets help, he suddenly acts like it's nothing. I know stuff like that is really minor and insignificant overall, but, when a movie just isn't good and has a lot of these moments sprinkled throughout, it's hard to not notice them. Also, on the visuals, this film also just looked really weird. For one, something about how it was shot was kinda strange, but also the C.G.I looked horrible a few times, especially in the finale and mostly involving the villain. And, yeah, speaking of which, I thought the fact that the main villain was revealed to be a descendant of the king Black Adam defeated was really strange as well. And the fact that he turns into some devil creature was a cool idea, I guess, but, the main problem I had is that the C.G.I looked awful. The texture on him never looked real and the actual final fight was pretty off putting. There were definitely some cool things in it, I liked Doctor Fate using his powers against him, and I did think them using his helmet to fake him out was kinda clever, but that's about it. In terms of the other cast members, they were mostly doing a good job, I especially liked Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, he gave me some Tom Holland Spider-Man vibes and I think he was probably my favourite part of the film, but, again, the fact that we knew basically nothing about these characters made it hard to really enjoy them. Some characters were also just kinda bland as well, like I said, I just didn't care for any of the characters so that kinda made the film feel longer than it really was. And, not caring for any of the characters involved made the death of Doctor Fate feel really empty and hollow, which is a shame, I know a bit of Doctor Fate as a character and I would have loved to have seen a great portrayal of him in the film, but I just don't think we got that. Part of that is also in the fact that they kinda made him and Hawkman seem kinda unlikeable for a while. And, as far as the mid credit scene, it was probably my favourite scene in the movie. Amanda Waller shows up to talk to Black Adam but then she sends Superman to talk to him. Firstly, it was great to see Henry Cavil return as Superman. I think he's a great actor and it was nice to see it confirmed that he's back. I was kinda wondering if these movies were gonna continue, but, now that this has happened, I guess it will, and, in general, it was just nice to see Cavil as Superman back. This also makes me hope they can get Ray Fisher back as well. So, yeah, that mid credit scene makes me really excited for what they could do in the future, but, the entire film overall just left me feeling like this was so weird. In terms of how it was put together and edited and everything else, it was just a really weird movie to me. So, yeah, I know I pretty much just complained the whole time there, but those really were all my thoughts when I came out of it and I saw it with my sister and she agreed with all the problems I just mentioned. So, yeah, I guess if you're the least bit curious, I guess you could check this out, but, I just didn't like it at all and thought it was just a bad movie. My Boruto Uzumaki collectible (Review)

So, another great collectible I got just the other day is my newest one, Boruto. I was kinda debating on whether I'd actually get Boruto, but, recently, someone was selling him on eBay for a really good price and this is also around the time a lot of new anime collectibles were being put out so I was thankfully able to get him. The one I got is actually in a set with an adult Naruto and, while I'm not gonna get that for a few reasons that I explain in the video, it is still pretty cool and I'm really happy to have gotten this Boruto. It's a Banpresto figure, like I've said before, I'm always impressed with how amaingly accurate they're able to make these figures and this is no exception. I'm glad I got him and, and this is something I explain in the video, but I put him in the case next to my Asta figure and they look really cool together. Anyway, here it is and I hope you all like this.

Fullmetal Alchemist (Anime Review)

So guys, this is an interesting one because I'm doing another anime review here, but for this one, I'm doing the original Fullmetal Alchemist. I've already talked about Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood so many times on here, but, recently, I was finally able to get the original Fullmetal Alchemist series from 2003 on Blu-Ray and I watched it. I also recently got the two Fullmetal Alchemist movies. The first is from the original anime's timeline and is what finished the story and the second is a normal offshoot anime movie like a lot of other ones based on Brotherhood's continuity. I've been trying to get the original series for a while considering how much I love the Fullmetal Alchemist franchise and I knew that after they ran out of manga material, they went off and did their own thing. But, when I started watching it, that wasn't really true because, even in the first few episodes that were the most faithful to the manga, there's a lot of weird changes to it. In fact, that's probably the best way to describe this show, weird. There's a lot of things in this that're so strange and bizarre. I'm not saying this show is bad, it's just weird with how the story is told and what they do in the early episodes. So, let's get into it and, like always, this will have spoilers for the whole series and the movie that finished it, so, if you don't want anything spoiled, go watch it then come back and read this. So, the beginning of the series starts off pretty similarly to the manga where it shows Ed and Al after their failed human transmutation then skipping ahead a few years after Ed becomes a State Alchemist going to Lior to investigate the whole thing with Cornello and finding Rose there. This first episode mostly follows the first part of the manga there except for some weird changes like how they kinda spoil the whole reveal of Al being a suit of armour before it should have happened with his chest opening in the desert and Cornello using a bunch of birds to make a humanoid shape to trick Rose into thinking it's her boyfriend who died and Lust coming to meet Cornello in one instance by going through some big ouroboros mark above him and so on. Again, it just makes me wonder why this much was changed in just the first episode, but that's not even the weirdest part because after the first two episodes that tell the Lior story, which is already strange because I don't think it needed two episodes to tell that story, we get a filler episode where Ed and Al have to stop some guy named Majhal from taking souls from girls in his town to bring back some woman he loved. Just the way episode is told is really weird with how it's paced and how it kinda goes through everything really quickly and the way the events happen just shows that more. But I think the weirdest part of the early episodes is that a lot of them are showing the events of the manga happening in the past. The whole thing in Lior happens as normal in terms of the timeline, but then the whole thing with Tucker and Nina along with Ed and Al stopping the train hijacking happens in a flashback around the time Ed was getting ready for his Alchemist Exam and he and Al were staying with Tucker and Nina while studying for it and they develop more of a relationship with Nina because of how long they spend with her. I guess it's nice they develop more of a relationship with her, but it's also kinda strange with how they tell the story of their time with them, especially since in this version, it's actually Gracia, as in Hughes's wife, who's pregnant and they do the whole baby delivery thing with her and Alicia instead of the whole story in Rush Valley, yeah, we'll get to that part later. So, in these early episodes, they spent a lot of time with moments and characters that weren't that important in the manga, especially in regards to Basque Grand, as in the Iron Blood Alchemist. In the manga and Brotherhood, he's just some random alchemist that Scar kills, as in we only see him for about a minute and then he dies, here however, he plays a significant role for a while and, while I kinda get that they knew they were gonna be doing what they wanted so they figured they could explore characters who don't get a lot of time in the manga, the problem I have is that I think this character is in this way too much. He's a big part in the early episodes and I kinda think he's in it for too long. Also, here, they decide to show Barry The Chopper to be a person that Ed actually fights and then he's arrested and it's around here Ed first sees Scar as he doesn't know who he is and they don't fight. So, yeah, the fact that Barry's a person in this before he's put inside the armour is odd, though, I will admit, I like how Ed is terrified to face him, as he should be considering this is him fighting for his life for the first time and, afterwards and even during the fight, he has severe trauma and I like how this series sorta adds more things to Ed of him seeing so much horrible things that traumatise him over and over. It was done well in Brotherhood too, but I like it here too since we see him do things we don't see him do in the manga or Brotherhood. Though, and I guess this is also a point about Brotherhood as well, but, I like how they do the Youswell story here since that was never covered in Brotherhood, but that's also done slightly different here than the manga, so that kinda makes me wonder why they didn't cover it in Brotherhood since it wasn't fully faithful to the way it was done in the manga here either, so the fact that they did it like this here makes its absence in Brotherhood even stranger. I also feel like this series kinda holds on some things a bit longer than really necessary like the part where they go to Rush Valley. Speaking of, let's talk about that because, in my opinion, the whole segment in Rush Valley in Brotherhood and the manga is one of the best moments and one of the most entertaining moments in the whole story, here though, it's kinda weird because they have Winry get mad at Ed for using alchemy to win the arm wrestling segment and they do it in a way that kinda makes her a bit unlikeable for a little bit, and this was something that was only used as a joke in the manga and they only stuck on it for a few seconds but then she meets Paninya and she's the one who suggests that she steal Ed's watch. Again, all this was just making Winry seem kinda unlikeable and this takes up a substancial amount of the episode. We never get to meet the family Paninya is staying with with the pregnant woman aside from Mr. Dominic, and, again, that was one of the most entertaining moments in the manga and Brotherhood, but it's not here and I feel it goes on for too long. Speaking of Winry, there's another really insane change added here because in this version, it's shown that Mustang was actually the one who killed her parents after he was ordered to by his superiors and it left him traumatised and depressed. I really don't like that change at all. Even if Mustang was ordered to do it, I don't like that he actually did it because Scar being the one to do it in the real story was a huge part of both his character arc and Winry's, so having it done like this was so weird and didn't fit well into the series for me at all. After this moment, this is where they start going off to do their own thing. I mean, the whole series was pretty much all Studio Bones series, but, it's at this exact moment they stop doing anything that's an adaptation from the manga and just make everything up themselves, because we then see Izumi after this like they should, but then she brings them to the island they were at when they were younger and there, they meet a small boy who can use alchemy to apply a substance to his own body and it's at about this point the writing for the new plot the writers were crafting really begins to show more. Sure, you could obviously notice it before, but this part here is when it's beyond undeniable that this stuff wasn't in the manga. And this plotpoint is really important for the series. One, they show that his right arm and left leg are actually Ed's limbs from when he lost them during the human transmutation, and two, here we learn a lot of other new information like how Homunculi in this version are actually created from a person who tried to use Human Transmutation and they're made from the remains of the person they tried to create. Not only that, but they also show that whenever a Homunculus gets close to the remains of the person they were being transmuted as, they weaken. And, again, this becomes super important. And, there's a whole bunch of information being shown at once that it was pretty nuts trying to keep track of it all, and I don't mean that as a bad thing necessarily. When you really just realise that this is just kinda how the series is gonna be and accept that, there are things here that're really enjoyable. I really like in a show, especially an anime where you sorta put things together with the characters and come to understand more about how the world works. But this all leads to the reveal that the main villain in this series is a lady named Dante who was actually Hohenheim's lover originally and they became immortal by transferring their souls into other people's bodies until Hohenheim became guilty for sacrificing other people to achieve it but Dante wanted to keep going and she's been using the Homunculi to do this. And, I will admit, something I actually do think this series does better than Brotherhood and the manga is making its villains more sympathetic. In Brotherhood, some of them were just bad guys, even though I loved that about them with how they were written, they do manage to make them more sympathetic here. The number 1 example I can think of is Lust. Here, it's shown Lust was created by Scar's brother trying to bring back a woman he loved and she's remembering more about her past life. Not only that, but she actually becomes an ally later on when she helps Ed after she realises more about her past. Also, speaking of villains, this series also rearranges the names of the Homunculi because that boy that Ed and Al found is actually this series' version of Wrath and Sloth is actually a woman who was acting as Bradley's assistant. Not only that, but Sloth was created when Ed and Al tried to bring back their mother Trisha. Wrath is also the product of when Izumi tried to bring back her dead baby and that's why she clings to him so much and it's pretty sad seeing her trying to get through to him and treat him like a son only for Envy and the others to make things worse. And a good point of when a lot of things come to fruition is when Ed and Al sorta team up with Scar earlier but then Al meets him again and they fight Kimbley which ends in Kimbley's death and Scar also uses Al as the centre for a Philosopher's Stone he's trying to make with a whole bunch of soldiers he led to Lior and we see that even Scar dies in this version by sacrificing himself to make the stone and then the Philosopher's Stone is literally inside of Al's armour. Again, it's really, really weird, but, it's also kinda cool to see that happen. This is also after Rose and the rest of the people of Lior left and she's sorta seen as a holy person. But Rose is also being used by Dante because she's hoping to use her as the next person to transfer her soul into. She's also hoping to use the Philosopher's Stone in Al's body to make that happen. And this begins a really long, but really cool climax where Mustang goes to kill Bradley, who, in this version, is Pride and he manages to kill him by showing off the skull of the person he was supposed to be transmuted into.

And, yeah, it's pretty tragic when Selim is killed. But, anyway, Dante has Al kidnapped and tries to use the Philosopher's Stone he has but then Ed finds them in a city underneath Central and sees Rose there who's under some kinda trance or something but then, and this is where another super, super weird moment happens, there's some kinda other world inside the gate and Ed is sent through it but his body stays in the gate and his soul is placed inside the body of that world's version of himself and he also meets Hohenheim there who Dante put there. Again, really, really insane stuff happens here and, while, I guess is kinda cool, it's just so weird and so not what the series should really be. As someone who's a massive fan of this franchise and is seeing this, this is just so not what this series should be. I guess in terms of how the writers created this version of the series, it does work, I suppose, but it's still just so strange. Not to mention that the other version of Ed is stuck inside the regular version's body which is still inside the gate and after Ed talks to Hohenheim, Ed is then killed and brought back to his world in his own body which means that the other version of Ed died. I'm honestly really surprised I could follow this as well as I could because I would have thought I'd get confused really quickly. Anyway, after going back to his world, Ed then begins to fight Envy and this might actually be my favourite part of the series. I think this fight with the two of them is cool. It's really short, but it's pretty intense and it actually ends with Ed himself actually dying. No joke, Envy actually manages to kill him. Watch.

Again, it's a really gut wrenching moment and it's really intense since it's established how blood thirsty these guys are. But then Al is able to use the Philosopher's Stone to bring Ed back and we see the Homunculi leave in different ways. Envy goes through the gate to find Hohenheim because he wants to kill him, Wrath runs off and Gluttony kills Dante after she used him earlier. Also, earlier, Ed killed Greed and Sloth and Wrath killed Lust. This is actually what Wrath tried to do after a while. He believed Sloth was his mother and so he wanted to be with her despite that not being true. So, after Al brings Ed back, he's sent inside the gate and Ed decides to sacrifice himself by sending himself to the other world in exchange for Al to be brought back. He also manages to get Al's body back but Al's memory of a lot of what's happened is gone. He does remember Ed being his brother so he decides try to find a way to get him back, but Ed is sorta taking over the life of the other world's version of Ed and he's living in that world's version of Germany and he's also trying to find a way to get back as well. And that part right there is where the series itself ends and then that leads into the movie called The Conqueror Of Shamballa. I'm gonna talk about that too, but, for now, I'll just talk about the series. Overall, the series itself is so weird. I do applaud the crew for being able to take the material they had at the time and making something out of it and being able to create their own world and series out of it too, and, like I said, I actually do think there are some things this does better than the manga and Brotherhood, but, overall, this was such a weird series. Like I said, the early episodes were done in a weird way. Not just the filler, but just the episodes that were canon were done in a weird way which, again, makes the fact that they're absent from Brotherhood even more bizarre. And, I dunno, the quality of the story felt like it was up and down for me a lot because I liked when the story was moving in a way that felt smart and like a real story with the reveals being shown and all that, but then sometimes I felt it stuck on some things too long in terms of the story itself and characters like that Basque Grand guy I mentioned. Also, and I probably should have mentioned this earlier, but they also bring back old characters in weird ways like Tucker. In this, after he's supposedly killed, it's revealed he's still alive and is part of a chimera and is trying to bring Nina back to life. He does pop up once in a while and sorta helps in different ways, but it's still odd. And, in general, I dunno, I was mostly just puzzled by how different this series was from the manga and just how much they change the rules of the world. I'll also say that there's elements here that're really interesting. Like I said, I like how they develop some other characters like Lust. They actually make her into more of a real character here and not just an evil villain. Again, I like that about her in the manga and Brotherhood, but it was nice to see her have more of a character here. But, at the same time, there were characters I didn't like, like Dante for example. I dunno, I just didn't like the writing for her character. Something about her just didn't sit right with me. She felt like a weaker version of Father. They felt kinda similar in a sense and she actually felt like a mix between Father and Orochimaru, as in she was trying to achieve immortality by transferring her soul into other people's bodies and so on. The series also made me miss characters who weren't gonna show up in this series like Ling, May, Lan Fan and so many others. If you've seen Brotherhood before this like me, then it's hard to not notice their absence. So, I guess with that quick analysis out of the way, I'll get started talking about the Conqueror Of Shamballa movie now. This film picks up, more or less, around the time the series ends, Ed is still working on ways to get himself back to his own world but he doesn't have his alchemy anymore and he's told of some dragon or something that some filmmaker, who ressembles Bradley, wants to hunt down and it turns out to be Envy and Ed also finds Hohenheim there who's killed by some lady who wants to get to Ed's world and destroy it. I actually saw this before I got started on the series because I got both the Fullmetal Alchemist movies before I got the series and saw them first before the show itself and I remember thinking that this was really strange, and I attributed that to the fact that I hadn't seen the show yet and so it felt weird to see this series at the very end without seeing the series beforehand. And I thought if I saw the show first, I'd get it more, but, regardless, this film is still pretty weird given how it's following the continuity of that show. Also, the lady I mentioned is obviously the villain of the movie and she kinda has the same problem I had with Dante, I didn't like the writing for her character, she just seemed like a crazy villain and not much else. I do think there's some cool ideas like when Ed goes back to his world by going through a portal that the lady was trying to make and there's a big climax there that ends with Ed and Al teaming up to fight her and then Ed decides to bring the soldiers that came there back to their world and then Al shows he came with him by jumping into an armour one of the guys was in. This is also the part where Wrath dies. He sacrifices himself to help Al open a portal to get Ed back, but, yeah, again, it just kinda seemed strange with how this world was being presented. I remember thinking that once I got into the series, this would make more sense, and, I guess technically it does, but, yeah, it makes sense in the world they made which still pretty strange. So, yeah, the movie, and I guess technically, the whole series ends with Ed and Al in the other world and now they're just kinda living their lives there from now on. So, overall, I guess I can say I'm at least happy I finally finished this series. I remember talking about how I really wanted to see this at some point a few years ago and it just left me feeling kinda baffled with how different this story is to the real one. And, weirdly enough, watching this actually made me appreciate Brotherhood even more. I realise how mean that probably sounds, but, yeah, whether or not I can say I actually really enjoyed this is kinda hard for me to say. I guess I do acknowledge that this show is good, but, considering how humungous of a fan I am of the manga and Brotherhood, especially since they're both my favourite manga and anime of all time, it was just really peculiar with how different everything in this was. I also do know that Hiromu Arakawa herself said she was pleased that the crew were able to do something with what they had and make their own story and world with it and, like I said, I do applaud them for being able to do that too, but, I guess what I'm really trying to say is that I just prefer Brotherhood and the manga's story a lot more. The dub is clearly something that's absolutely fantastic. Vic Mignogna is of course still the perfect choice for Edward, and Aaron Dismuke does a fantastic job as Alphonse. Though, and, again, I guess just because I've seen Brotherhood so many times, I personally prefer Maxey Whitehead's performance, I just feel like her voice fits Al's character a bit more, but Aaron Dismuke still does an amazing job, especially since he was only 12 when he actually started voicing him, which is really, really impressive. And I guess the last thing I can say is that I'm glad I finally watched the show and I do think it's good, especially the last few episodes that had some cool reveals and action scenes, but I don't think I would ever want to watch this again, but I am also happy to be adding this and the two Fullmetal Alchemist movies to my anime and manga collection. So, I realise I was probably kinda harsh on this series unnecessarily because I do get when people say this is good and I guess I do agree with them, but, those are really just my overall thoughts. I guess if you're interested and like Fullmetal Alchemist, I would say you should give it a shot. So, anyway, yeah, guys, that's really my review of Fullmetal Alchemist. Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania Trailer

So guys, today, we finally got a trailer reveal for Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania. This is actually a movie I am pretty excited for. Sure, the other Ant-Man movies aren't among some of the M.C.U's best, but I think this movie could be the Thor: Ragnarok of these movies, especially given the look of this trailer. We get to see that Cassie is trying to help Scott and the others with work on the Quantum Realm and we see they all get stuck in it and we see some civilisation there. So that's interesting, it'll also help explain how Janet was able to survive there for so long. We also see some other things like we see Bill Murray's character and we also get to see some other new version of Kang. And it's still Jonathan Majors from Loki, so that's really exciting. We even get to see Kang have his classic look from the comics, so that'll be cool to see in live action. It also looks like he wants Scott's help with something, so I'm curious to know what that's all about. So I'm really curious to know what the main plot for this will be like.
