My top 15 anime and manga protagonists of all time

So, this is a really big one for me, but, after all this time, I feel I can finally make my list of my top 15 anime and manga protagonists of all time. When I did my last entry talking about my review for part 4, 5 and 6 of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, I mentioned how since I had finally made that, I felt I could move onto making a lot more other special entries as well and this is one of them. I've been thinking about this for a long time now because I've made a list like this before, but, at that stage, I hadn't watched that many anime or read too many manga's, but, after a long time has passed, I have and I've been able to experience a lot more of both of those. And I've wanted to do this list for a long time because I've watched and read so many anime and manga that I've been able to see a lot of different protagonists and so many of them have had different impressions on me and that's a fun thing to think about because anime and manga protagonists are some of the most interesting characters I've ever seen and some of the most entertaining and just some of my favourite characters ever period. I've also done lists like this on my YouTube channel in terms of my YouTube Community, but, now I want to go into more detail with all these and be able to make actual videos about them now too. Plus, it's just good to have this on here anyway. And so, let's get started and I hope you all like this.

15. Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach):

Starting us off is the Substitute Soul Reaper from Karakura Town, Ichigo Kurosaki. From the beginning, this regular high school student was able to see the souls of the dead but was still doing his best in life until he met Rukia and was forced to absorb her powers to kill a Hollow to save his family. While Bleach itself may have a good amount of problems, Ichigo himself is definitely a huge reason why Bleach stood for so long as one of The Big 3 alongside Naruto and One Piece. His super tough and bad attitude helped make him stand out from the usual Shonen personality of being super happy and optimistic. Plus, when I was younger and I first discovered Bleach and Ichigo himself, he really stood out as being super cool and different from Naruto since Bleach was the second real anime after Naruto I discovered, even if I didn't really understand what all that meant back then. And his journey through the series, mainly through the Soul Society Arc and his desire to protect those he cares for is very admirable. Sure, I do think Ichigo has some problems as a character like being kinda bland after a while and he does kinda become pretty stale towards the end, especially during the Fullbringer Arc, but the start of the series is where he was really in his prime and I have to respect that.

14. Gon Freecss (Hunter x Hunter):

Next up is the pro Hunter himself, Gon Freecss. After leaving his home to become a Hunter and find his dad, Gon becomes entangled in so many different adventures which makes him change in various ways. Gon is actually interesting when it comes to my thoughts on him because he does kinda feel like a fairly standard Shonen protagonist a lot of the time, but, what's interesting about him is towards the end of his story when we see just how dark he can really be because for a lot of the series, we're shown him being super happy and cheerful and optimistic, but we then see that he's really morally grey and that makes him even more interesting because you don't really know how to feel about him a lot since he does occasionally do some really bad things out of pure selfishness. But, even beyond that, I do love when he does do some really cool stuff because I do think he can be really cool a lot of the time. So, while he may be kinda standard and not all that special as a protagonist, there are still a lot of good qualities about him that make him stand out from time to time.

13. Josuke Higashikata (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise):

At number 13 is the first JoJo protagonist on this list, Josuke Higashikata. I was kinda debating if I wanted to have two JoJo protagonists on here, but I just decided to anyway given how much I love both characters, and the first one here is the protagonist of Diamond Is Unbreakable. Like I said in my review for this part, I really love Josuke as a character because he's so much fun and so likeable with his different actions. You could see him fighting to protect someone he cares about or doing some weird thing in Morioh that might not be all that special or taking revenge on someone who mocked his hair. And I don't think there was a single moment in all of Part 4 where I found him unlikeable or thought he was being overused, Araki used him perfectly and he created one of his best characters ever, and, I'm pretty sure I heard somewhere that Josuke is actually his favourite character he's created as well, and it's not hard to see why. Josuke is just so fun to watch with his compassion for other people and his fun attitude towards other things as well. I personally wish we saw more of him in future parts before Part 7, but what we got of him anyway was still great.

12. Tanjiro Kamado (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba):

This is a pretty interesting one for me because I only just got into Demon Slayer just slightly over a year ago, in that timeframe, I came to love Tanjiro and love his role in the series. I love how kind and compassionate he is and how he's essentially the heart of his group with being the one to care for everyone and be super protective of everyone too, especially Nezuko. I also love how a lot of his character is based on potential because a lot of the series is spent on him training or trying to learn a new ability because he has the potential to do so much more and I love how he has so much determination for wanting to improve and get better but still have a kind-heart throughout the entire journey all to save Nezuko from turning into a demon and hopefully ridding the entire world of demons. Plus, I love how he impacts and interacts with so many people around him and because of his outlook on life, he's generally able to change others for the better and make a great impression on them. So I'm really excited to see where he goes in the anime because, although the manga may be finished, I can't wait to see the rest of Tanjiro's journey animated.

11. Saitama (One-Punch Man):

At number 11 is the hero for fun and one of the strongest characters in existence, Saitama. Though he may appear as a normal bald guy with nothing much to him on the surface, he's proven time and time and time again that he's pretty much undefeatable and it's amazing how we follow him through so many events but he's never once a boring character, despite being a super bored character. But I love how Saitama is almost treated as like an underdog by the world around him since no one recognises all the amazing feats he performs but he never really seems to mind or care enough to want to do anything about it. A part of that is kinda due to him being pretty stupid at times, but he does also acknowledge when to do the right thing when needed and he generally won't try to take credit for it. He's also just really fun and funny as well with acting super bored all the time but still having so many amazing and fun moments that makes him a great character. And, again, just with the level of how insane the situations he usually finds himself in just makes what he does and his outlook on it all so entertaining. Saitama's also just fun to watch with the other characters around him, especially Genos and seeing what the two of them will get themselves involved with next is really fun. I also like how Saitama is also just a good guy. He's nice and respectable and you do want him to succeed. So, I'm really excited to see exactly how he ends the series, whether people will acknowledge him or if he'll just continue on with what he's doing forever and that's just kinda how it'll always be.

10. Lelouch vi Britannia (Code Geass: Lelouch Of The Rebellion):

I know a lot of people would put Lelouch way higher on their list of their favourite anime protagonists of all time and, while I do love him as a character as well, I don't know if I can really put him that high myself. But still, Lelouch is an amazing character. Being born into the Britannian family, Lelouch saw the horrible things his family had done with taking over Japan and even thinking his own mom had been killed. After he and his younger sister Nunnally fled to Japan, he tried to take care of her while thinking of ways he could stop his family. And, after meeting C.C and getting the Geass, he finally gets the opportunity and takes on the persona of Zero with the Black Knights to stop them and free Japan, especially to make a better world for Nunnally in particular. Easily one of the greatest anti-heroes in anime, Lelouch's journey throughout the series is one of the best explored with his complexities since we see him do so many things that paint him as either a hero or not, especially since we are rooting for him, but there's no denying he has done some bad stuff too. But the different complexities help make it so that he's never a bland character and always super interesting and just fun to watch at times too. Plus, it's also interesting to watch his great intelligence impact everyone around him with him being able to have the leadership skills to command a whole rebellion. Not to mention the fact that he's voiced by Johnny Yong Bosch in the dub and I think Lelouch is his best performance, and a big credit for that is the great character writing Lelouch has.

9. Izuku Midoriya (My Hero Academia):

The future greatest hero in the world is at number 9, Izuku Midoriya, A.K.A, Deku. Being born Quirkless, Midoriya grew up wanting to be a hero like so many people around him, especially his idol, All Might, despite that not being possible for him. But, after meeting All Might and showing his courage and quick thinking, All Might chose him to inherit his Quirk and ever since, he and the other members of Class 1A have been through so much to stop The League Of Villains and save everyone they can. I just love Deku's ambition to be the best he can and his drive to prove himself as a great hero. He's definitely proven that time and time again from saving regular people and his friends many times and stopping so many villains like Muscular and Gentle Criminal. He's also just fun to watch a lot of the time with his fanboy personality and nerdy side as well and I love watching him do all these and seeing his views on various things change like his faith in the hero society and the world at large given how chaotic things can get in the series. I'm also just very curious to know where he goes from here, especially in the manga since he's begun to go solo to try to solve things on his own and do what he thinks is necessary and I'm really excited to see how the series ends since he said at the beginning that he does eventually become the world's greatest hero, so I'm very interested to see what happens to help him earn that title.

8. Jotaro Kujo (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure franchise):

This is what I meant by having another JoJo on this list. I don't really think that's a spoiler because I mentioned this a lot, but, I think Jotaro is the best character from this whole franchise and Araki's best character he's ever created. Originally just a delinquent, Jotaro is willing to team up with Joseph and the others to find and kill Dio to save his mom. And what I love about him is his tough and stoic personality but still having more than that like knowing how to be calm and kind and friendly as well. And I think what cements him as the best character in the franchise for me is the fact that he's in every part after he's introduced in various ways before Part 7 and so it's great to see his impact as the most prevalent JoJo with him appearing in Stardust Crusaders, Diamond Is Unbreakable, Golden Wind and Stone Ocean. Overall, I just think Jotaro is the perfect character for this franchise, not to mention he's just a cool character too either on his own or with Star Platinum.

7. Yusuke Urameshi (Yu Yu Hakusho):

At number 7 is Yoshihiro Togashi's original protagonist and his better protagonist in my opinion, Yusuke Urameshi. This is actually pretty interesting too because a lot of people say Hunter x Hunter is Togashi's better story, but everyone I see on YouTube and so on usually say Yusuke is a better character than Gon, and I agree with that. Another delinquent character originally, Yusuke was then willing to sacrifice his life to save a small child from getting run over which led to him being able to come back to life and as a Spirit Detective. With this, he's able to befriend some old enemies like Hiei and Kurama and forms a team with them and Kuwabara to take down demons and save the living world. And what's really great about Yusuke is, for one, his fun personality with doing nothing but having a trash talk way of speaking which leads to a lot of fun interactions, but also just his regular mentality where we really start to uncover what he's really about and what everything means to him and why he really is the way he is. I love how we focus a lot of time exploring how he takes out a lot of his anger on people because of the way he was raised and how he views things. But he also is extremely loveable with wanting to protect those he cares for and knowing when to take things seriously. It's also a lot of fun seeing how he fights and his different spirit attacks like the Spirit Gun. It's also fun to follow him through the series and seeing how he gets in and out of a lot of the dilemmas he finds himself in. In my opinion, his character was at his best during The Dark Tournament where we see him grow exponentially as a character and we see how he and the others navigate themselves through each fight and how they get out of them and it's really inspiring when he takes on Genkai's challenge to become stronger with him growing a huge amount of respect for her and then deciding to avenge her by defeating Toguro after he kills her. And, really, I think Yusuke is a better version of Ichigo because I think Tite Kubo did take a lot of inspiration for Bleach from this series.

6. Atem/Yusei Fudo (Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise):

The reason I'm putting these two together is because I'm not really sure who I like more as a character because Atem is technically the main character of the whole franchise alongside Yugi himself, but I also really love Yusei as a character. If you were to ask me who I liked more as a character with Yugi and Yusei, I'd probably go with Yusei, but when it comes to Atem and Yusei, I couldn't tell ya. But, anyway, I just love these two characters equally. While I enjoy every protagonist in the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise like Yugi, Jaden, Yuma and so on to varying degrees, Atem and Yusei are the ones that stick out the most to me. What I love about them the most is their seriousness and mature personalities with Atem being a 3000, or 5000, year old pharaoh who awakened in modern day after Yugi put together the Millennium Puzzle with Atem having no memory of his life so he decides to help Yugi until he eventually manages to get his memory back and is able to move on to the afterlife. And with Yusei, he's had to go through a lot of hardships in his life with never knowing his parents, being treated like garbage for most of his life by the people in New Domino City and having two of his best friends betray him. But, in the end, he still manages to put other people ahead of himself and be a real hero by saving everyone many times and even being able to fix the city the way it should be all while almost never losing his way. And, again, I just love how mature they are and how they value other people so highly, and all that and a lot more reasons is why I consider the other Yu-Gi-Oh! series after the original to be very underrated.

5. Guts (Berserk):

Now we've arrived at the branded Black Swordsman himself, Guts. There's so much I could talk about with Guts that just knowing where to begin is really difficult, but Guts is easily one of the greatest anime and manga characters to have ever been created. I love basically everything about him with his amazing character development and other great aspects that showed exactly why Kentaro Miura was an absolute genius with writing. Being born from the corpse of his mother and raised by an abusive and monstrous adoptive father, and after Griffith betrayed him and the rest of the Band Of The Hawk, Guts made it his life's mission to hunt Griffith down and murder him. But, along the way, he begins to lose his humanity with all the terrible things he does to get revenge that he then begins to reflect on everything and decides that, even though he's gonna hunt down Apostles and get revenge on the Godhand if he can, he's gonna dedicate himself to protecting his loved ones and make sure he never loses another group he cherishes ever again, especially Casca. And following him through his journey as he develops in each story arc is some of the most fascinating storytelling in a manga or anime, or even just in general, you'll ever see. But even beyond that, there's no denying the fact that Guts is easily the most awesome and hard-core anime protagonist ever. And, again, just constantly following him through the story is never once boring or patronising. I'm very curious to see what happens with him for the rest of the story, especially since the last time we saw him in the manga, he looked absolutely defeated and distraught.

4. Edward Elric (Fullmetal Alchemist):

At number 4 is the short statured and short tempered Alchemist, Edward Elric, the Fullmetal Alchemist. While Ed has been portrayed in various ways over the years like in the manga and the 2003 anime and in Brotherhood, I think I'm mainly going with his Brotherhood version, but I'm still referring to every iteration of him. Anyway, Ed is easily one of the most different anime and manga protagonists out there with a fun and unique personality, a fantastic character arc and character development. After his mom dies, he and Al try to bring her back but it ends horribly with both of their bodies being taken in various ways and now he's determined to make things right to fix his brother's body and make sure nothing like this happens to them ever again. Pretty much everything about Ed is perfect with Hiromu Arakawa's amazing writing with his fun personality of being really short temper and having a really snarky and bad attitude but also having a really touching brotherly bond with Al. He's also just a great hero too with having a good sense of morality and knowing exactly how to help people and he's also one of the funniest protagonists ever as well in my opinion. But I think what I love the most about him is his resolve and stubbornness to do what he feels is necessary at any given moment. His maturity is something that's on full display a lot of the time too and that just makes him stand out a lot of time too and his desire to protect Al and the others from anything is really something to admire as well as well as his huge intelligence.

3. Goku (Dragon Ball franchise):

Easily the most iconic anime and manga protagonist of all time, we have the Super Saiyan himself, Goku. After being sent to Earth by his parents to avoid the extinction of the Saiyan race, Goku was raised like a human until he met Bulma and began to learn about the outside world, and ever since, we've seen him through so many different adventures, whether that's taking down the Red Ribbon Army, stopping Piccolo from destroying the planet and turning him into an ally, becoming a Super Saiyan for the first time and avenging the Saiyans, sacrificing his life for the Earth, fighting a God Of Destruction and fighting in so many tournaments, one of them in particular designed to determine the fate of every universe in existence. While Goku's character may have taken a slight dip in Dragon Ball Super with his occasional selfishness to have a fight, there's no denying just how much of an icon he is in the world of anime and manga with his heroic and fun and optimistic personality. Me and pretty much everyone else just love his happy outlook on life and his drive to always improve himself and always reach newer heights. Even if he does have super low intelligence, you have to admire his intelligence for combat and martial arts as well as his maturity when the situation calls for it. Not to mention all the transformations he's gotten over the years have become just as synonymous with his character like Super Saiyan 1, 2, 3, Super Saiyan God, Super Saiyan Blue and Ultra Instinct. So I'm very interested to see where he goes from here and just how much farther he's gonna get, especially if he keeps the same loveable personality we all know and love.

2. Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece):

Coming in close to number 1 is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates and the future King Of The Pirates, Monkey D. Luffy. After being inspired by Shanks to become a pirate himself, Luffy set off on a huge journey to assemble his own crew to find the legendary One Piece to become King Of The Pirates and be crowned as the freest man in the world. I feel like Oda is able to achieve with Luffy what a lot of other manga artists and anime writers try to do and don't always succeed which is have the protagonist be super fun-loving and crazy and stupid and loud a lot but knowing how to be written with so much charisma that they're impossible not to love, and that's something I absolutely love about Luffy. The fact that he always just does what he wants and never cares about other people's opinions about him but he still treasures all the people he befriends and has a strong sense of morality to know when to do the right thing. And I love how he can act selfish and gluttonise but it's all part of what makes him such an amazing character. Not to mention the fact that doing whatever he wants leads to him being put in some incredibly fun situations like declaring war on the world government to save Robin, taking on the entire navy to save his brother and marching straight into a dangerous land just to take down some of the strongest people in the world. Plus, even if he'll never admit it himself, he's still an incredible hero with being able to take on absolutely anything to make things right either for someone he cares about or just to save a kingdom. There's also the fact that his thirst for adventure and determination to explore the world as much as he can, as well as his commitment to his friends and crew, are all so infectious that it's impossible to be bored or annoyed around him and I just love his unpredictability and the fact that you never really know what he's thinking or what he's gonna do next and I can't wait to see what happens to him at the end of the series.

And my number 1 favourite anime and manga protagonist is... Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto franchise):

And finally at number 1 is the orange wearing, number 1 hyperactive knuckleheaded ninja and Seventh Hokage himself, Naruto Uzumaki. I know I've talk about Naruto so many times on here and I've probably overdone it a lot, but I really can't help it. When it comes to an anime or manga character that just encompasses everything I love about a character and stands as a huge inspiration for me as a person, I really can't put anyone above Naruto. For the longest time, Naruto really has stood as a huge role model for me. After having the Nine Tailed Fox sealed inside his body and spending the first twelve years of his life ostracised in the village, Naruto learned the truth and began to improve himself enough to gain the respect of everyone in the village and become the Hokage, which he was eventually able to do and making a vow to protect everyone he cares for so he'll never feel lonely ever again. And I just feel like Kishimoto really delivered big time when it came to Naruto's character writing in terms of his personality, his character growth and development and everything else. I love how Naruto always wants to improve and get better and how literally everything he does in each arc helps him work towards becoming Hokage as he learns more about the world and just how life works and all that as well as just gaining more knowledge and maturity. Whether or not you could really say he is mature is kinda hard to say, like lot of the other protagonists on here like Luffy and Goku, I do love when he does get serious and does act mature when the situation really calls for it. And even smaller stuff just helps make him more like a real character like his obsession with Ramen, his commitment to all his friends, his respect for all his different teachers and mentors, how he can connect with so many people, even if they were once an enemy and so much more. I will admit, recently, kinda like Goku, I feel like his character has taken a little bit of a dip after he became an adult, and I'd be lying if I said him and Luffy don't occasionally go back and forth these days briefly over which one is really my favourite protagonist since I don't think Luffy has ever once dipped in quality, but nothing can take away from his character during his teenaged years and that's why I would more often than not say Naruto is still my favourite. I do also love how Naruto in the first part of the series started off super braggadocious and, while he does keep that in different ways throughout the series, he also does get more humble later on and knows when to be empathetic and compassionate too, again, especially when it comes to having faith in his friends and other loved ones. Really guys, I just love Naruto's growth and evolution through the series and how he develops to become what he does at the very end. Also, I'm not gonna lie, I know some of these other protagonists are probably more generally liked and better written and better developed as characters, but, personally I'm just always gonna be on Naruto's side when it comes to picking my favourite out of all of them. And all that is why Naruto Uzumaki is my favourite anime protagonist of all time. And so, everyone, those are my picks for my top 15 anime and manga protagonists of all time. My top 5 movies of 2022

So guys, this is kinda late because I usually make these way sooner, but, I was waiting for the new Puss In Boots movie to come out here before I made this, but, now that it's out and I've made my review of it, I'm finally gonna talk about my top 5 movies of 2022. This was an interesting year for me with movies because, recently, I've sorta tried to broaden my horizon when it comes to movies and I saw some really, really great films in 2022. I did also see a lot of terrible films, but I was really, really glad with all the great movies I saw last year. So, this is probably a weird thing to point out, but I think this might be the most different one of these lists I've made because I'm gonna be including different kinds of films that I haven't spoken about before. So, let's get into it and I hope you all like this.

5. Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero:

Starting us off is the first anime movie I saw this year, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. I saw both this and One Piece Film: Red this year and out of the both of them, I liked Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero more. I really had a great time with this film, especially since it was the first Dragon Ball movie I ever saw in cinemas and this was a really great experience. While I personally had a couple of problems with it like the first ten minutes or so, the rest of it was so entertaining as a Dragon Ball fan. And I loved just what happened with this having a huge enthesis on Piccolo and Gohan's relationship and it was just a blast from the start when Piccolo is introduced and what they do with the characters was a lot of fun. I also loved the other characters in this like Pan. I really, really Pan here and she was so entertaining in this as opposed to the version of her in Dragon Ball GT. And it was nice to have a Dragon Ball movie that didn't focus on Goku and Vegeta the whole time. While I love the two of them, it was just refreshing to have one focus on other characters and this was definitely my favourite version of Gohan ever since the Cell Games Saga. Overall, it was just such a fun time and I can't wait to see what the next installment in the franchise is.

4. Puss In Boots: The Last Wish:

Next up on the list is the only American animated movie from this year and my most recently viewed film from 2022, Puss In Boots: The Last Wish. This was very refreshing for me personally because I haven't seen many DreamWorks movies over the years, but this movie was great to get back into that again and gave us one of the best animated movies in the last few years. Like I said when I did my review, I had heard nothing but incredible things about this film before seeing it and, while I can't say I was on the same boat as everyone on that level, this was stil such a great experience with some of the best directing I've seen in an animated movie in a long time and it was just a lot of fun to see characters I've liked for a long time back on the big screen again. I personally think the first Puss In Boots movie is pretty underrated and so having this movie come out and have so many people talking about it the way they have is really amazing and I just had a fantastic time watching this.

3. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever:

At number 3 is the last of the M.C.U projects from 2022, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. The M.C.U was kinda hit or miss this year with some amazing projects like this and having other stuff like Thor: Love And Thunder and She-Hulk, but this was a great way to close out the year. With this film, we got so many great things like a really good villain, some of the best performances in the M.C.U and it was just an incredible way of doing a touching sendoff to Chadwick Boseman. It was also full of amazing character development and had fantastic action scenes and maybe one of the most facinating stories the M.C.U has ever told. I also feel like this kinda took some risks by M.C.U standards and it made the experience all the more interesting. I also loved just how the characters get to where they are like Shuri becoming the new Black Panther and giving her character more chances to shine and making me like her more than I did. 

2. The Batman:

Coming in close to number 1 is my offical favourite live action Batman movie, The Batman. I feel like this movie is practically tailor made to be on everyone's list of their favourite movies of 2022 because of just how brilliantly made it is. Not only is the story so well thought out, but the attention to detail with making this version of Gotham feel so real and detailed just makes me want to explore it as much as possible. As someone who's a huge Batman fan but would never say he's the biggest fan of all time, this was just everything I could ask for with absolutely amazing acting from everyone, especially Robert Pattinson as Batman himself, some incredibly gorgeous shots with the cinematography, really intense action and some of the best directing I've ever seen in a comic book movie. And, like I said in my review, I just loved how this film sorta took the idea of a comic book movie and turned it on it's head and made it really refreshing to watch and I absolutely can't wait for the sequel.

And my number 1 favourite movie of 2022 is... Top Gun: Maverick:

And finally at number 1 is easily the best movie of 2022 and the one that pretty much everyone has already talked about to death with the amount of praise it's gotten, Top Gun: Maverick. This is what I was talking about at the start with movies that may surprise you with what I've seen this year, but, yeah, this film was easily my favourite movie of the year, which is odd to me because I haven't seen the first Top Gun movie yet and I was never interested to until I heard what everyone was talking about with this movie and all I can say is that seeing this on the big screen was insane and may have been one of my favourite cinema experiences I've ever had. What I love about this film is that everything that everyone talks about here is super interesting and the characters are just as interesting. We have Tom Cruise as Pete Mitchell trying to teach younger pilots how to accomplish a mission while trying to make things right with the son of his old partner and everything they do in this is some of the most facinating stuff I've seen in a movie in a long time. But I also love how huge this movie feels because they used real planes for the flying scenes and it made all the action with them feel so intense and the cinematography complimented it so well. The acting from everyone is also incredible here, Tom Cruise is of course great, but so is everyone else, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly, Jon Hamm, Glen Powell and everyone else in the cast do an incredible job. Pretty much everyone has praised this movie to death and I'm the same because this movie was such a spectacle to see on the big screen and the action just made everything so much more emotional and when the characters were just sitting and talking or explaining different things about how to do these things, it was all so compelling and interesting. I've actually been able to connect with other people over how much I love this movie and we all agree this was the best movie of 2022. And all that is why Top Gun: Maverick is my favourite movie of 2022. And so everyone, those are my picks for my top 5 movies of 2022. Puss In Boots: The Last Wish

So guys, yesterday, I was finally able to see the newest DreamWorks movie, Puss In Boots: The Last Wish. I haven't spoken about DreamWorks for a long time because I don't really see their films these days since they don't seem to interest me, but, I really wanted to see this one because everyone was praising this humongously. People were treating it like it was the new Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse or Frozen in terms of the amount of praise it was recieving. But, for a while, I couldn't see it because it wasn't released here until yesterday despite it being released in America back in December. But I couldn't believe how much praise it was getting because, like a lot of other people, I didn't think much about this film, it just seemed like pointless cash grab that also just seemed like it was trying to copy other animated movie styles because the animation looked completely different from the first movie with it looking like Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse animation and, even though I really like the first Puss In Boots movie and think it's one of the most fun DreamWorks movies, it just seemed really pointless. But then, I started hearing so much about the film and praise it was getting was kinda astronomical. So, I saw it yesterday when it was released and, in the end, I don't know if I can say I loved it the same way everyone else did, but I did end up thinking this was a really, really good film. I had a really great time watching this. Also, since this has been out for a while, I'm going full spoilers from the beginning, so, if you haven't seen it yet, go watch it first then read the rest of this. So, what's the story? Puss is back to being his usual antics with being super arrogant and loving all the fame he's getting, but, after he dies again, he realises he's down to his last life and he then hears about this star that can grant anyone any wish they want, so, he goes to try to find it with the help of Kitty who returns from the first movie and a small dog named Perrito while trying to avoid a whole bunch of villains like Goldilocks and the three bears and Jack Horner who're all trying to get the wish themselves as well as litteral Death himself who, in this version, is a huge white wolf who shows up every once in a while and is after Puss since he's down to his last life. So, the first thing that's an instant positive is the animation because, even though DreamWorks always has impressive animation, this is some of the most unique they've ever done because, like I said at the start, this feels a lot like Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse where, even though it's 3D, it looks a bit like 2D at times and the way they do it is amazing to look at. Not only that, but the directing and editing is very unique and fun to watch. I especially loved the camerawork here too because the way they move the camera in a lot of the scenes is insanely fun to watch and this helps make some really stunning shots, especially with the colours occasionally. And I love the different and unique ways the story is told because, even though the opening didn't get me hooked immediately and I think it wasn't until a bit later when I really got into it, once it did, it was incredibly entertaining. The characters were also still really likeable. Puss is still a super fun character and I think I liked Kitty in this more than I did in the last movie, and I especially really like their relationship in this, I thought it was really sweet and nicely romantic. But the villains were cool too and I like how they flipped the idea of each villain in this. I didn't even know Jack Horner was gonna be in this, but he was fun to watch and I really liked Goldilocks and her relationship with the three bears, and Death himself was a really cool villain too with the way he kept popping in in different ways and the other things about him were cool too like his whistle and the way he used his sickles for weapons and, again, with the unique ways they shoot the film, it makes everything about him even more fun to watch. But I think my favourite new character in this was Perrito, this tiny dog who's trying to be Puss's friend and, even though you can clearly tell what Puss and him will end up being at the end, it was still fun to watch and he was just a really fun character with him being super positive and friendly and kinda oblivious to any bad things happening to him and with him, Puss and Kitty together on this quest, it made the whole adventure aspect to the film really, really fun and the way they did the actual quest through the Dark Forest with the map was really fun and unique and funny with how they just used Perrito's version of the map to make it though safely. But even putting aside the things in this movie that were fun or cool, the times when they did some dramatic stuff worked really well too like when Puss is kinda reflecting on his life when he sees the other versions of himself was a nice way of having that moment for him to think about himself and realising how terrible he's been before. And even other dramatic moments were effective too like when Goldilocks remembers how she met the three bears and tries to decide what she's definitively gonna wish for. And, again, like I said, I like how they flipped some of these villains in this like how Puss, Kitty and Goldilocks team up at the end to defeat Jack Horner and manage to take him down and the scene where Death decides to leave Puss alone after he makes it clear how important his life is after deciding to be with Kitty. I haven't mentioned this much yet, but the film is also just really funny. I like how funny Perrito was especially and it was funny when anyone touched the map and we saw their versions of the Dark Forest caused by it and it was funny with how many times they indicate cursing and swearing, especially when Perrito did it. The way this film connects to the Shrek movies as well as pretty cool like how we get a quick cameo from Shrek and Donkey and then it's shown that Puss, Kitty and Perrito are going to Far, Far Away at the end. I guess this technically means these movies take place after the Shrek movies since Puss talks about how he was going to see some old friends. Some people think this means it's indicating towards another new Shrek movie but I don't think so, I personally hope there isn't any other Shrek movie because, even though I love the first two movies, they don't need to make another one. But, as for this movie alone, yeah, it was so, so, so good. Like I said at the start, I don't think I loved this the same way everyone else did, but it was still a super fun film and I had a great time with it. I would definitely recommend this if you can see this and I do mostly get that all the praise for the film is completely warrented. Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania second trailer

So, I've been meaning to show this for the past few weeks now, but, on the 10th of January, we got the second trailer for Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania. And, from what we're seeing here, it looks absolutely crazy. We get to see a lot here like more of an idea of what the plot is going to be. We get to see more of Kang here and it looks like he wants to trick Scott into doing some stuff for here but he goes back on his word and now Scott is trying to stop him. Not only that, but we also get to see M.O.D.O.K in this and the effects on him do look kinda weird with his face, but, it also looks like he'll be getting some helmet thing for his face and that actually does look pretty cool. It's also just cool to have him in live action to begin with. Again, I love how much like the comics the M.C.U has become and they can have a whole bunch of these weird elements from the comics and have them come into live action and have them be cool, which I assume this film will be. It'll be out in two weeks from now and I already arranged to see it with my brother and sister when it does. So, I'm really excited to see what they do here. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (Anime Review) Part 2

So guys, this has been a long time coming, but, on Sunday, I finally finished all of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean, which was the sixth part of the franchise, which means I can finally make an anime review for the fourth, fifth and sixth parts. In December 2021, I did a review for the first three parts and they were the only parts that were brought here when it came to Blu-Ray releases, so, for Part 4 and 5, I got the Blu-Rays from America and was able to watch them and then, some time last year, Part 6 was released only on Netflix and the last of it was released recently and I just finished it. So, I'm really, really, really excited to talk about these considering these have some of the best moments in the whole franchise. So, if you recall, I mentioned how this franchise was started by Hirohiko Araki back in the 80's and I did reviews for Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency and Stardust Crusaders and I enjoyed the experience of watching them for the most part, but now, I can finally move onto my reviews for Diamond Is Unbreakable, Golden Wind and Stone Ocean. Also, like I always say, this will have spoilers for these parts, so go watch these if you want and then come back and read this. So, let's get started with Part 4, Diamond Is Unbreakable. So, for this part, this actually takes place in a fictional town called Morioh where the protagonist this time is a high school student named Josuke Higashikata, who's actually Joseph's son after he had an affair with a young woman, and now Jotaro is meeting him and explaining all this to him and trying to get him to understand what's going on. Not only that, but a lot of weird things are happening in this town and Jotaro wants Josuke's help with trying to fix it, especially since Josuke is a Stand user as well. So, yeah, it's pretty crazy that after we finish Stardust Crusaders, which was all about Jotaro, Joseph and the others trying to get to Egypt and stop Dio, we immediately get a story in a small town dealing with different situations. But, I'm not gonna lie, that definitely helped with this because this might actually be my favourite part in this whole franchise so far. If you remember, I mentioned in my Stardust Crusaders review that I really, really didn't like how a lot of the episodes felt like boring filler where not much happens and it was annoying having to get through each episode and not getting close to the ending for a long time until we eventually did. But, here, that's honestly what make this part so much fun. This part has so many episodes where not a lot is really happening in the grand scheme of things, but because of what exactly is happening, it's really entertaining and so much better than it was in the last part. Anyway, moving onto the characters, I absolutely love Josuke. He's my second favourite character in this whole franchise behind Jotaro for me and he's so much fun to watch. I like his quirk of hating when people make fun of his hair and making threats to anyone who might do it and he's just a really fun protagonist. I also love his interactions with everyone, especially Jotaro, I really, really love their dynamic and how they team up a lot of the time, but I also loved a lot of the side characters as well like Koichi, Okuyasu, Rohan, they were all really enjoyable, really fun, really likeable and really funny at times too. And it's kinda hard to explain this exactly but, even though a lot of these episodes do just kinda have a simple plot of just doing some weird thing in this town like trying to stop someone from doing something bad or doing any other thing with a Stand, it was all incredible captivating and I never once complained because it was so entertaining. I even like how some characters they fight become allies later on like Rohan and Mikitaka. I also thought the fights this time around were a lot more creative than the last part and made the whole experience pretty riveting. I will say though, I kinda wish they did more with Joseph because he comes to Morioh for a bit but I wish they did a bit more with him. He's there and Josuke is kinda uncomfortable about it and then there's a whole episode about an invisible baby that can make everything around invisible and Joseph even decides to adopt the baby. This might actually be the only thing that felt kinda wasted because it really doesn't amount to anything and it's not really explained so it's kinda confusing, but it's not terrible or anything. However, I still haven't mentioned one of the best parts yet, the main villain of this part, Yoshikage Kira. This guy is insane with how well he's written and he's tied with Part 3 Dio with being my favourite villain in the whole franchise. What I love is that his motivation is so simple, he just wants to live a quiet life without getting involved in anything that would attract a lot of attention, but he still does so many horrible things like killing women for their hands and other atrocities. And I love how we spend a lot of time on him doing very simple and mundane things, but the way it's done makes it all so interesting and compelling to watch, especially since there's one episode in particular that just has him doing that for the whole time, but I love how it's done. Plus, I really like his Stand too with Deadly Queen and the different abilities it has. And it was amazing how in the middle of the series, Josuke and the others find out about him and almost have him cornered until he takes the face of another person and takes over that person's life and this leads to us meeting Hayato, the son of the man Kira has taken the role of and he begins to suspect something's happening because he feels he's acting weird and this all leads to the climax where Kira tries to make it so that Hayato doesn't reveal who he is and uses his Stand to make it so until Hayato is able to beat him by making it so Josuke and the others will catch on to who he is and this leads to the real climax where Josuke and Okuyasu take Kira on with their Stands with Jotaro, Koichi and Rohan finding out a bit later and this leads to the end where Jotaro manages to use Star Platinum to stop time and defeat Kira which causes Kira to be killed when his head gets run over by an ambulance. Yeah, like I said in my review for the first three parts, this franchise can be incredibly gruesome with some of its deaths. But the way Kira actually dies with his soul being taken away to who knows where is really cool and satisfying. So, overall, I absolutely loved Diamond Is Unbreakable. It was so much fun, so well written, had an extremely enjoyable protagonist and had a very interesting villain and is my favourite part of this franchise so far. The dubbing in this was also fantastic. I mentioned before in my Josuke collectible review that Billy Kametz is the one who voiced Josuke and he did an incredible job. I mean, rest in peace, Billy because his performance made Josuke seem a lot more likeable than he already was. But the rest are great too like Zach Aguilar as Koichi, Jalen K. Cassell as Okuyasu, D.C. Douglas as Kira, they all do an amazing job. So, yeah, definitely check this part out if you're a fan of this franchise, I absolutely loved it and Araki did a fantastic job with this. Now, we're moving onto Part 5, Golden Wind. This was a really interesting part because, even though I heard so many people praise this part, some had some problems with this that seemed pretty hard to look over. Me however, I absolutely loved it. I do have some problems with it and some things are a little infuriating when I think about it, but I still loved so much about this and had an amazing time with it. This part follows a teenaged guy named Giorno Giovanna who's actually Dio's son from when he had Jonathan's body. Giorno lives in Italy and is trying to join a gang to hopefully make Italy a better place. He does manage to join a gang and meet it's members, especially its leader, Bucciarati, but, once he joins they're given a mission to escort the daughter of the boss of the organisation back to him, but, along the way, they encounter all sorts of strange things and battles and even learn that the boss himself is tricking them in different ways. Okay, so, first off, I just want to say that out of every single part in JoJo so far, this part is easily the best looking in terms of how everything is designed as well as the fantastic animation from David Production. They've done this whole franchise since the beginning and this is their best work yet in terms of the whole franchise. Something else that's really facinating is that this takes place in Italy and that's actually a place that Araki himself absolutely loves. If you've seen some behind the scenes stuff with him, you'll know that Italy is place he loves and you can tell with how well detailed everything is and the fact that this entire part takes place there. This part also does a lot of what Stardust Crusaders and Diamond Is Unbreakable did, in that there's so many instances where they're trying do some specific thing or trying to get somewhere and they end up fighting a bunch of Stand users, but it was mostly done well here. I like seeing how ever since the last part, the Stands have all sorts of abilities and so it makes the battles all the more interesting. I think maybe some of them do go on a bit too long, but it's never a bad thing. But now, let's move onto the characters, especially Giorno himself. I'm not gonna lie, before starting this part, I was really, really excited to see Giorno because his design looked unique and interesting and creative and everything was just pointing to him being like a really cool character. However, I really didn't like the writing for his character. I'd say he's probably my second least favourite JoJo next to Jonathan. It's kinda hard to explain, but, in a lot of anime, you usually see characters being incredibly smart and being able to figure out what's happening really, really quickly, and in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, that seems to happen a lot with the characters, but, that happens especially with Giorno and the fact that he figured out everything so perfectly did get kinda tedious after a while. But even outside of that, I found it weird how everything he did was perfect and not much more. I have a weird feeling it's because he's part Joestar and part Dio so that might be it, but, regardless, I didn't like how he was essentially the flawless guy who did everything right and that got so boring after a while. Which is weird for me to say because I started this series really excited to see what he would be like and see what he would bring to the table, but I just found his actions pretty boring since there wasn't much to him in terms of development. I actually heard the same thing from a YouTuber before watching and I wanted to see for myself and I got the exact same feeling from Giorno as he described it. I wouldn't say Giorno's the worst character in this part because we'll get to that in a second, but, even though I complained about him a lot, I still did like Giorno, just not all that much and he just wasn't all that interesting. However, the rest of the gang were fantastically written, for the most part, especially Bucciarati himself. I found him to be extremely likeable and very fun to watch. I especially loved the voice actor they got for him in the dub, Ray Chase, he did an amazing job as Bucciarati and made him so likeable. I also liked all the other members of the gang, Mista, Narancia, Abbacchio, I loved them all. The only one from the group I really didn't like or care for was Fugo. He just seemed like the only one that was kinda wasted and pointless and just didn't seem to have a point being there. I'm not really sure why he was made to be on this team because he really doesn't do anything. But, anyway, I also liked Trish, the daughter of the boss they were having to escort. I thought she was just someone who was gonna be around but not really significant, especially since she starts off as like a brat, but I really liked her and thought she was fun to have on the team after she grew out of that persona. I also loved how a lot of what was happening in the first part got changed around the time of the halfway point in the series because we eventually learn that the boss himself is a guy named Diavolo who's the main villain of this part and wants to kill them all. I don't think Diavolo is particularly special in terms of a villain or a character, but he is still pretty cool. I like how after it's revealed what he's doing, the gang begins to try to escape and protect Trish since Diavolo wants her dead too. He then sends tons of Stand users to try to kill them but they keep defeating them and eventually, this all leads to the climax where Giorno and the others face off against him. Not only that, but Polnareff also returns, which was really awesome to see because he was a great character in Stardust Crusaders, so it was great to see him again and I like how he acts as almost like a small mentor for them. But with the actual ending of this part, it's really awesome, but kinda weird because we first get a part where a lot of the characters swap bodies and this leads to some deaths like Narancia. Not only him, but Bucciarati was killed earlier. Actually, with him, it's kinda weird and confusing because it's implied that Diavolo killed him near the middle of the series but then his soul kinda sticks around to help them. I dunno, that part was really confusing. But, anyway, Abbacchio is killed too so it's just up to Giorno, Mista and Trish to stop him because he's trying to get the arrow that gives a person a Stand but Giorno is able to stop him by taking the arrow and using it to evolve his own Stand from Golden Wind to Golden Wind Requiem, which is probably the most powerful Stand in this entire franchise due to all its abilities. And the actual final fight with Giorno vs. Diavolo is awesome, I loved it. I also like how it ends with Giorno making it so Diavolo is trapped in state of just dying over and over and over and over forever, which is pretty scary to think about. But then, the last two or three episodes were kinda weird because we get a flashback of the gang doing something before Giorno joined and I don't really get it. I get it was kinda supposed to explain the ending, but it was still kinda confusing to me. I did like the ending though where we see that Giorno is now the head of the organisation and he's trying to make Italy a better place. Even if I didn't like Giorno all that much, I still liked seeing where he ended up and thought him being able to do all this was a nice way to end his story. So, I probably was kinda harsh on this part a bit too much, but I want to make it clear that I still absolutely loved a lot about this part. I liked how we got so many amazing Stand battles with a great group of characters to follow along the way. I did have a few other problems with this like how Koichi was actually in this briefly at the start but then he never appears again. Jotaro had him go to Italy to inspect Giorno since he knew he was Dio's son and wanted to check on him until Koichi confirmed he wasn't a bad guy. So, I would have loved if Koichi was in this and be the same kinda mentor character that Jotaro was in Diamond Is Unbreakble so it was kinda annoying he was only in this briefly and then just vanished. The dub is also great here too like Philip Reich as Giorno does a great job and I already mentioned how I loved Ray Chase as Bucciarati and everyone else does a great job too. Anyway, as for this part as a whole, I still really loved the ride of watching this and would place it really high in terms of ranking the six parts I've seen so far. And, with that out of the way, let's move onto the sixth part of the series and the most recently animated part, Stone Ocean. This is the most recently animated part and is the conclusion to the first universe in this franchise. I'll explain what I mean later. Anyway, this part is probably the most controversial one because some really like this part and some really don't. I sorta went in with slightly lowered expectations just because of that and just wanted to see what was gonna happen. And so, in the end, it kinda hard to explain exactly how I feel about this because there were some things I absolutely loved and it had some of the best stuff in the whole franchise, but it also had stuff that I also wasn't a fan of and some of this stuff felt kinda boring and like filler at points. Still though, not a bad part by any means, plus, it's easily the craziest part in the franchise so far because what ends up happening is absolutely insane, but I'll get to that later. For now, let's just talk about the part itself. So, this part's protagonist is a girl named Jolyne Cujoh, who's actually Jotaro's daughter, who's in jail and she's absolutely furious because she says she didn't do anything wrong and is angry at Jotaro himself because she feels like he was a terrible dad to her with never being there for her. But, after she gets her own Stand after Jotaro gives her a piece of the arrow that gives people Stands, Jotaro meets her and he's almost killed which Jolyne is scared by and now she's trying to save him while also trying to figure out what exactly is happening with all the weird things happening around her. So, in the early episodes, I found a lot of what was going on to be kinda boring. A lot of it is just different hijinx in the prison and not much is happening for the most part and even some of the reveals that happen didn't really make me care all that much, aside from when Jolyne found out about what happened and that she was set up to be put in prison and all that. I don't think it's until a bit later things start getting more interesting. I do think the setting is cool though, I think most of the series taking place in a prison is cool and I think Araki did a cool job with depicting it. But when the story picks up, it really picks up because we're introduced to new characters like Ermes and F.F who Jolyne befriends and they try to find out the identity of a Stand user they only know as Pale Snake and you start to learn more and more about that. I do still think there's some parts here that kinda go on a bit too long too, like, I think there might have been a bit too many episodes, which obviously is because I feel there might have been too many chapters in this, so that made going through the series feel pretty tedious at points. However, with all that said, there are a lot of things here that I really liked. For one, I really, really like Jolyne. She's probably the most underrated character in this franchise for me. I really liked her super tough personality but knowing how to be kind and friendly and gentle as well. I also loved the rest of the supporting cast as well like Ermes, F.F, Emporio, Anastaia, I really liked all of them, and I really liked the different dynamic they all have. And, like I said, I was just finiding the first few episodes kinda tidious because they felt like a bit of a drag to get through, that is until the point where we meet the main villain of this part, Enrico Pucci. He's bascially a priest who keeps talking about wanting to reach heaven or something and for a while, we don't know what he means, but we do keep getting flashbacks with him and that he was actually in league with Dio and wants to fulfil his wish and he's also the one who set up everything to get Jolyne arrested all so he could lead both her and Jotaro there. And this is actually where a lot of stuff gets revealed to us and we learn a ton of interesting things too. I like finding out more about the characters and their backstories, as well as just following Jolyne through this adventure as she's learning more and more about what's happening and discovering Pucci's identity, like when F.F dies as she's able to tell her, which was pretty tragic. Again, like I said, I think some of it did go on a little bit too long and kinda overstayed its welcome, but the way all the reveals were being discovered made it really interesting to watch. And it's also revealed that Pucci wanted Jotaro's memories because he apparently knew what Dio's plan was and his Stand is able to take discs in and out of people which records their memories and life in general, which is what Jolyne is after to try to save him. Pucci is able to use them though and realises what to do and where to go. Jolyne and the others manage to get out of jail and try to catch him but run into some more Stand users. And, not just any Stand users, but, they're actually Dio's other sons aside from Giorno, which is pretty cool. And, like I said, we learn more about the other characters too, especially Pucci, like how one of the other supporting characters, Weather Forecast, yeah, that's actually his name, is actually his brother and he gets his memories back and tries to kill Pucci for something that happened to them in the past until Pucci manages to kill him and Jolyne and the others keep going after him and this where we reach the climax, which is absolutely bonkers. Like, seriously, this franchise has had some incredibly insane things happen in it, but nothing can top what happens here because they're going to Cape Canaveral to stop Pucci but he's beginning to get a new Stand and its power is starting to affect the gravity and so they're having trouble getting to him, but they eventually do and not only do they manage to get to him, but Jotaro returns after Joylne was able to get his discs back and they keep fighting Pucci until he's able to complete his plan and acquire his new Stand, Maiden Heaven, which is easily one of the most powerful Stands of all time because its ability is to speed up time incredibly fast and this is where everything goes absolutely bonkers because his plan is to actually make time go all the way to end of time until the universe is completely gone and a new universe is born with everyone dying and being reborn. I am not kidding, that literally happens. Literally everyone is the universe is killed and the universe starts anew. The only one who actually gets brought over from the original universe is Emporio after everyone else is dead and now Pucci is trying to kill him to make sure he doesn't stop him but Emporio does manage to beat him and stop him, but he's now in this new universe and the series ends with him meeting the new versions of Jolyne, Anastasia and Ermes. So, yeah, that is some incredibly insane and kinda terrifying stuff. Litterally everything we knew about the first JoJo universe is officially gone and now this new universe has taken its place. That's really insane, but also really terrifying and depressing because all the characters we knew are now gone forever and reborn into new characters. It's really hard to find the words to describe how all that feels to me. But, yeah, it's hard to really know what to say after something like that happens. And I finally get what everyone was talking about when they were talking about how the next few JoJo parts take place in another universe. I heard something like this from people but I didn't fully understand what they meant when they were talking about it, now I do. But, in terms of this part overall, I did still like it, I don't know if I can say I loved it, but I did still really enjoy a lot of this, and, again, the main thing I liked about it were the characters, especially Jolyne who I really did love as a character. Not only that, but the dubbing was incredible in this part. Kira Buckland did an amazing job as Jolyne herself and helped make Jolyne really, really likeable, Tiana Camacho, Brittany Lauda, Casey Mongillo and Howard Wang also did an amazing job as Ermes, F.F, Emporio and Anastasia and Yong Yea was fantastic as Pucci. Pucci himself is also a really intimidating villain and kinda scary too, especially since he does manage to kinda win at the end since he does manage to do what he wanted to, kind of, and, again, the fact that every character we once knew are now gone forever, it makes me look back on this franchise and really miss a lot of what's now gone. And the fact that we actually saw so many of the characters just die makes me feel that even more. So, I am still really happy I saw this and was able to finish it to finally make this review and I do think this part is slightly underrated. I do have probelms with it, but I still liked it a lot for the most part. As for the series going forward, I know Parts 7 and 8 take place in this new universe and I'm really excited to see them finally get animated. Not only that, but I heard Araki is probably gonna start part 9 really soon which will supposedly finish this franchise entirely, so I'm really, really excited but, yeah, it's gonna be a long time before we see that happen as well as seeing any bit of it animated. But I'm really excited to see the rest of the franchise in this new universe. Some people have said that the next part, Steel Ball Run, is the best part out of all of them, so I'm excited to get started when it's eventually animated. So, as for these parts here, I'm so glad they're all part of this massive franchise, and I'm just glad I finally did reviews for these and you should definitely check these out if you haven't yet and if you already like the rest of previous parts. Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V (Anime Review)

So guys, this is a fairly big entry for me because I finally finished all of Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, the fifth installment in the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. I've done reviews before for the original series, GX, 5D's and Zexal, but, ever since 2021, I've been trying to get all of the fifth series, Arc-V. Like I said in my Zexal review, that series was the last of the whole series to be brought here in terms of DVDs, so, when it came to this show, I had to buy the DVDs from America and I've had Seasons 1 and 2 since 2021 and I've been looking for Season 3 for a while, but, thankfully, in November a few months, I finally found it on eBay and watched the whole thing from start to finish and I finished it about two months ago. So, now, I'm here to review it. I've personally enjoyed every Yu-Gi-Oh! series before this to different degrees and I've been really happy about collecting every series on DVD so it was nice to be able to get this and add it to that collection and just finish the series overall at last. So, in the end, while I think this might be my least favourite of the first five Yu-Gi-Oh! series I've seen so far, I had a fairly good time with this series. I do have some problems with this and there are some things that are pretty questionable, especially when it comes to continuity with the rest of the franchise, but I enjoyed the series for what it was for the most part. So, let's get into it, and, like I always say, I'll be discussing about the series from beginning to end with spoilers, so if you don't want it spoiled, go watch it then come back and read this. So, the basic plot for this one is that the protagonist this time around is a fourteen year old boy named Yuya Sakaki who considers himself to be a Dueltainer and his dad has also been missing for a few years. He attends a Dueling School called the You Show Duel School with his friend Zuzu Boyle and her dad who runs the school. One day, he's having to duel someone his Dad was supposed to duel before he disappeared and in this duel, he learns a new dueling technique called Pendulum Summoning and this causes everyone to want to learn how to do this, and especially the Leo Duel School which want to take down the You Show Duel School. Yuya and the other students try to save it, but then things start going crazy when two guys named Yuto and Yugo arrive, and after Yuto is defeated in a duel, he disappears inside Yuya which allows him to talk to him in his head. They then learn that the head of the Leo Institute, Declan Akaba, is planning on doing something with a tournament he's setting up and Yuya is suspecting something. I'll stop there for now and get back to the plot in a second, I just wanna talk about my overall thoughts on everything so far. So, kinda like a lot of the other Yu-Gi-Oh! series, this show definitely tries to set up the rest of the series from the beginning and you can tell there's something going on with all the weird things happening like the Pendulum Summonings and then the whole thing with the Leo Institute and then meeting Yuto and Yugo, so it tries to plant some interest in us from the beginning, but I don't think it really achieves that until a bit later. Like Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, I found a lot of what happens in the early episodes to not be very interesting, even if it did have some ideas that were interesting like the idea of Yuto and Yugo who look like Yuya. But, I don't think things really pick up until around the point when they start the tournament and Yuya starts to understand a bit more of what the bigger plot is. Stuff related to that kinda stuff is where it starts getting interesting and we even learn more about what Declan is doing and why he's trying to use everyone. As it turns out, Yuto and Yugo are from different dimensions and are their dimensions' counterparts to Yuya. Yuto is from the XYZ Dimension, which is where Zexal is set, and Yugo is from the Synchro Dimension, where 5D's is set. And that's really interesting to me because this felt like to me that they were gonna do a crossover with the other Yu-Gi-Oh! series, which these shows really haven't done before aside form a few mentions and character cameos and the Bonds Beyond Time movie. But this show doesn't really do the kinda crossover I was expecting, but I'll get to that in a second. Anyway, Declan discovered that his dad, Leo Akaba, went to the Fusion Dimension, where GX is set in, and took over Duel Academy and has convinced everyone there to take over the other dimensions by attacking everyone and turning them all into cards. This is why Yuto is here because the XYZ Dimension has been completely wiped out and now he's trying to stop Duel Academy. Not only that, but, the first season ends with Zuzu being taken and sent to the Synchro Dimension and so Yuya and some of his friends like Gong and Sylvio go to try to save her. This is when we start the second season, and there are some other pretty important characters that appeared in the first season, but I'll get to those later. For now, the second season takes place entirely in the Synchro Dimension and we see a lot of things from Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, but there's huge differences between how things were there and the way they're presented now. For one, it shows that everyone in New Domino City are divided again and the layout of the city is different too. Instead of there being the main New Domino City and the Satellite on another island, you have the city on top where all the wealthy people live and all the poor people live in a city beneath them trying to get by with what they can. This actually reminded me a lot of Final Fantasy VII which kinda has a similar setting. Anyway, when Yuya and the others get there, they try to find Zuzu, but they actually find Crow there. It was really awesome to see Crow again, I think he's a very underrated Yu-Gi-Oh! character, and I love they got the original voice actor back for him. In fact, they meet a lot of old characters from the previous shows and they got the original English voice actors back for a lot of them. I don't know if they got them back for all of them, but, if they did, that's awesome and it was cool to see him and Yuya talk. But this is where things get really weird. Old characters like Crow and so on are back in this from their shows, but the protagonists aren't. For some reason, the protagonists from the previous series aren't in this one despite going to their homes, so we don't get to see Yuya interacting with Yugi, Jaden, Yusei or Yuma, which was really disappointing. All that happening in the fifth series in the franchise would have been the perfect opportunity. I guess they do kinda explain it later on, but it's still so weird. Not only that, but the character's positions are different here too like it shows Crow is back in the slums trying to feed a group of kids he's caring for and Jack is back to being his arrogant self and rising the ranks to being the most famous person in the city. We even get a new character in this named Shinji and he reminds me a lot of Yusei. He looks a tiny bit like him and acts a little bit like him too and takes his position as someone who's trying to prove the worth of everyone in the slums and get people to stand up for themselves, especially since everyone in the slums gets treated like garbage by the people above. So, even with this different setting, they do manage to make us feel bad for them and make the people in the top city seem hateable. Speaking of, this series might actually have the most hateable character in the whole franchise, Roget. This guy does so many horrible things to make everyone's life a nightmare just so he can have absolute power. In this, New Domino City is run by some elderly people and he's trying to manipulate them into doing what he wants to do and you just hate everything about him, especially when the others come so close to winning and he ruins it. So, for this season, Yuya and the others are trying to stop Roget as well as fix New Domino City and find Zuzu. For this, they take part in something called the Friendship Cup where they Turbo Duel and Yuya wants to duel Jack as a way of making him see the errors of his ways, but he gets beaten the first time and this only makes things worse and so they're doing one duel after another with Yuya, Zuzu, Gong, Sylvio, Crow and Shinji trying to make it to the top and they see the cruel punishments done if they lose as well. So, yeah, this season has a lot of things like that and it's pretty rage-inducing to watch them trying to do the right thing only for a lot of things to go wrong and seeing them get mocked left and right. Not only that, but Yuya is also starting to feel something going wrong in his head, like feeling something else is trying to take over and Roget even takes advantage of that too. I will say, stuff like that is why I preferred watching Season 2 more than Season 1 with the uncovering plot being presented and so on. And it's insanely satisfying when they manage to ruin Roget's plan and expose him and manage to get everyone in on their plan. And the actual final duel of the Friendship Cup with Yuya taking on Jack again is pretty cool and satisfying when Jack changes his mind during the duel and Yuya wins. After that, they try to stop Roget, and Declan is able to beat him and they even find Zuzu, but then, as a last resort, Roget sends them to the XYZ Dimension and they get split up again. Not only that, but Zuzu gets sent to the Fusion Dimension where Leo Akaba is and Duel Acadamy. But, in the XYZ Dimension, Yuya, Gong and Sylvio actually meet Kite there, which was really cool, he was my favourite character in Zexal so it was nice to see him again and, yeah, he's just as stand-offish as he was in Zexal and even accuses Yuya and the others of being from Duel Acadamy because, like I said, the XYZ Dimension has been devastated and a lot of people are gone. And I like a whole bunch of stuff to do there because we see Yuya and the others duelling members of Duel Academy who're doing terrible things and being horrible people, not just from the fact that they capture people and turn them into cards, but they openly enjoy the torture and all the pain they put people through. We even see that some characters from earlier are from Duel Academy like Sora. Yeah, there's actually a character in this series named Sora, and he was trying to trick the others into befriending him and making them think he was on their side, but, later on, and especially because of his genuine friendship with Zuzu, he really did join their side. Yeah, we learned that back in Season 1, but it's more important here because Zuzu herself is in the Fusion Dimension and actually meets Alexis there. Again, it was really, really cool to see Alexis here too, and I think what makes it even cooler is that this version of Alexis is supposed to be like how she is in Season 4 of Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, which was never dubbed and I never saw it, but it was cool to have a version of that dubbed in some way. Anyway, in the Fusion Dimension, Zuzu also meets Yusho, as in Yuya's dad and he explains what he's been doing and that Leo Akaba brought him there against his will years ago and he's been stuck there ever since. Again, I really like huge reveals like this and this leads to a fun thing there where Yuya and the others finally get there with Kite, Yugo and the others and try to get to Duel Academy and the reason Yugo is going is to save his friend Lulu. And that's something else that's really interesting because Lulu is actually the Synchro Dimension's version of Zuzu along with Yuto's friend named Rin who's the same for the XYZ Dimension. Anyway, they get to Duel Academy and Duel their way through to find the girls and take down Leo. Not only that, but they're also trying to stop Yuri, as in the Fusion Dimension's version of Yuya as well who's basically the evil version and is an incredibly talented and dangerous duelist who does terrible things to people and even defeats Yugo which causes him to be inside Yuya like Yuto was but that eventually leads to a bunch of huge reveals like Leo eventually telling everyone that all the dimensions were once all together and he had a daughter named Ray and there was once a duelist named Z-Arc who let the victories he was achieving go to his head and he began to get power that made him go crazy that led to him attacking everyone until Ray sacrificed herself to stop him and both her and Z-Arc were split and the dimensions were too and that's why everything is the way it is and now, Yuyu, Yuto, Yugo and Yuri are the different incarnations of Z-Arc and Zuzu, Lulu, Yuto's friend Rin and a girl from the Fusion Dimension named Celina are the different incarnations of Ray herself and every time Yuto, Yugo and Yuri are absorbed into Yuya, he's beginning to come back. Not only that, but Leo was doing all this and having people turned into cards and kidnapping the girls because he wants to bring Ray back and will do whatever it takes to do it. Again, really, really, really insane reveals just keep happening around this time and this is what I meant when I said that maybe the whole continuity of the other shows is like this. I have a feeling the reason they're not acknowledged is because of this, maybe, but it's still really weird by that alone, still though, this is really heavy stuff and stuff like this in the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise isn't really anything that new because it's always been pretty crazy and insane with doing stuff like this, but, yeah, this is all sorts of weird and crazy. I'm not saying it's bad, it's just I know this is to be expected for the franchise. Not only that, but it's just really satisfying to get answers like this and the whole getting to the point is pretty cool to see, especially when we're told about what's been going on with Yuya and the others, even if I'm not really a fan of everything that happens. For one, again, I just wish we were told what happened to the previous protagonists in the franchise and, especially what happened to the dimension Yugi is apparently from because they talk about the three previous shows, but not the original, so I'm curious to know what's going on there. Anyway, eventually, after defeating Yuri, Z-Arc is able to take over Yuya's body and begins to merge all the dimensions together as a way of destroying everyone and so everyone tries to defeat him but he's too good with duels to be defeated until Ray herself actually takes over Riley's body. Riley is Declan's adopted younger brother and she uses his body as a way to stop Z-Arc and this is where things start getting really, really, really weird because after he's defeated, Yuya, Gong and Sylvio are brought back home and start living their lives again like nothing happened and they've forgotten all that did happen and even about Zuzu herself. But, eventually Zuzu's dad is able to remember her and he's able to make Yuya and the others remember too which leads to a part that shows that Declan and some others remember what happened too and Riley himself has been reverted back into a baby and they say the only way for things to go back to normal is if they're able to make him smile by Yuya going through the different dimensions again and winning different duels. Yeah, stuff like that is where I feel stuff is kinda going a bit too far in this series and, while I get that's kinda the rule of the world with this, it still kinda feels like overboard at times. But, anyway, Yuya does eventually win all of the duels until the last one is against Declan himself and everyone is hoping Yuya will be able to do it since they're all counting on him to make things right. And, as you'd imagine, Yuya of course wins and this puts a lot of things back to normal and eventually Zuzu comes back as well. I'm a little confused about what happened to Yuto, Yugo, Yuri, Lulu, Rin and Celina. I mean, you do see them when Yuya and Zuzu see each other again, but I'm kinda curious. Anyway, that's how the series ends and even Yuya gets to see his dad again and it literally ends with him and his dad about to have a plain fun duel together. So, yeah, that's really the series, I didn't mention everything, but, the general basics were mentioned, and, as for the series overall, I don't know if I can express exactly how I feel about this series, but, overall, I did finish it pretty satisfied. I can't say I loved it, like, when I finished the other Yu-Gi-Oh! shows, I came out of them saying I loved the experience of watching them and I don't know if I can necessarily say the same here, but, still, I did really enjoy a good amount of this. Clearly the thing I loved the most were the constant plot points that were being discovered and I did like the characters' journey through the story too. Speaking of, the characters here were mostly pretty good. I did like Yuya more than I did Yuma, even though I did really like Yuma too, and I thought he was just a fun character in general with usually keeping a happy attitude a lot but then the stress of all the bad stuff happening gets too much for him and he begins to break down mentally and we see that happen. In fact, the whole stuff with that reminded me a lot of the whole Jaden and Supreme King stuff in GX, which may have been the intention because Z-Arc is referred to as "Supreme Leader Z-Arc", so that might have been intentional. I was actually surprised Zuzu wasn't in this that much because she's mostly just separated from the others, but I still liked her too and it was cool to see her interacting with the other Ray incarnations too like Lulu, Rin and Celina. But, again, the main thing I found weird was that all the other protagonists weren't here and I still think that was a shame because, like I said, I feel like this being the fifth series in the franchise would have been the perfect time for a crossover like that, though, the only thing I can think is that Yuto, Yugo and Yuri could have been what the protagonists were supposed to be since they all have the traditional "Yu" in their names. And, as for the duels themselves, I'm not gonna lie, even though duels are the main appeal and the main aspect to this entire franchise, I personally didn't really care for them, so, a lot of the time, especially when it looked like they were gonna be going on for a while I mostly just fast forwarded through them and really only just watched ones that I knew were super important. But even with that out of the way, I liked the big duels that determine a lot of what would happen, like Yuya vs. Jack or everyone vs. Z-Arc or Yuya vs. Declan. Speaking of which, even though I had some questions and weird issues with the choices made about the other dimensions, I did still like when we saw characters from the other shows and it was cool to even have characters from them talking to each other like when Kite meets Alexis and they start talking, that kinda stuff was really cool and, as someone who's a huge fan of this franchise, that was really cool to see. Kinda wish we coulda gotten more, but it was still cool. Although, I'm a little puzzled by something. At the end, everyone seemingly goes back to normal and everyone's pretty happy with it, which I guess is to be expected with this franchise, but it was kinda weird that the guys from Duel Academy didn't receive any kinda punishment for all the horrible things they did because maybe they saw the error of their ways and changed, but it's weird that none of them, even Leo Akaba, who started this whole thing weren't punished at all for almost killing every person in every dimension. It's not that much of a complaint, just something I found kinda weird. But, anyway, there were some characters I really didn't like though like Sylvio. I know his whole character was supposed to be super egotistical and full of himself and I'm sure that was meant as comedy for him, but I just found him really annoying and never really found him likeable, even in moments where he was supposed to be really likeable, I just didn't. Okay, I've probably focused a lot on the negatives for this video a lot, but, I do want to stress that I did still find this enjoyable and I did enjoy the ride for most of the series. Again, like what I said in my review of Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal, it's kinda hard to really say a lot of these are great or anything because this franchise isn't really something that's the most liked when it comes to all its sequel series, but I still find them really enjoyable for what they are. And I did like this a good amount and when the plot was being unveiled in interesting ways, I was really enjoying it and I like Yuya's interactions with Yuto and the others too. I especially like how Yuto, Yugo and Yuri helped Yuya during the last duel and he even used their dragons since they all have their own special dragon card. And, overall, I'm just so glad I was finally able to watch this series and add it to my Yu-Gi-Oh! collection. It was really satisfying to find the third season on eBay and finally watch the whole thing. And, as for the future of this series, I'm not entirely sure because I don't know if Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS or Sevens have been dubbed or anything so, even though I really want to watch them, we'll just have to wait and see what happens. So yeah, I guess you could say me watching this series and finally adding the DVDs to my collection was a nice way to make the collection grow and almost be like a tribute to Kazuki Takahashi with me finally watching all the currently available Yu-Gi-Oh! series and having them in a collection like I do. My Kingdom Hearts 3 Terra Bring Arts figure (Review)

So, for Christmas, I was finally able to get the last of the Guardians Of Light as Bring Arts with getting Terra as one. I've been trying for ages to get him and I was finally able to with my Christmas money and it's just awesome to have all the Guardians together. Plus, I personally feel like Terra's a pretty underrated character in the Kingdom Hearts series so having one of him is cool. He also came with his Terranort head so you can have him in his normal Terra form and the form of him when Xehanort took his body.Plus, having all the Guardians together makes me with they made more for the thirteen Seekers Of Darkness. I know they have ones for Xion and now Terranort, but it'd be great if there were ones for the others like Master Xehanort, Xemnas, Ansem, Young Xehanort and the rest. Also, not only do I have him, but I also have my one for Naminé coming so I'm so unbelievably excited for her to arrive. Anyway, here it is and I hope you all like this.

My Zenitsu Agatsuma and Inosuke Hashibira collectibles (Review)

So, another bunch of collectibles I got just before Christmas were two for Zenitsu and Inosuke from Demon Slayer. I shared a video back in May last year of my collectible of Tanjiro and I've had him for a while, but I've been trying to get ones for Zenitsu and Inosuke since and I finally did and these ones are Banpresto figures again like I usually get, but they kinda fall into the same series as the Sasuke, Sakura and Nami figures I have. Plus, I did some fun editing in this video that I was happy about. Not only that, but, recently on my YouTube channel, I finally reached 1000 subscribers and I'm really happy about that. And it's even more cool considering that now that it's 2023, I've technically been doing this for five years now and I've noticed how I've been able to change and improve over the years. And so, anyway, here it is and I hope you all like this.

My Eren Yeager collectible (Review)

So, I'm really late with showing this video, but, about a month ago, I finally managed to get a collectible for Eren Yeager from Attack On Titan. I was trying to get this one for a while because it was another anime protagonist and Attack On Titan is easily one of my favourite anime's and mangas ever and with Eren, I now have 24 anime protagonists as collectibles in my case. I really like the sculpt on this one with the way Eren looks and all, and it's just great to have him period. I actually also have some other ones here, but I'll wait to show those, and I also have some more coming and I'm excited to make videos for those. Anyway, here it is and I hope you all like this.
