Kiki's Delivery Service

So, guys, if you remember the last Ghibli movie review I did, My Neighbour Totoro, I mentioned how that film felt like a very relaxing movie that didn't have a whole lot going on but was still seen as really famous and I also mentioned how I personally wouldn't place it as one of my favourite Studio Ghibli movies despite how famous it is. For me, that kinda movie is this, Kiki's Delivery Service. A lot of what happens in the last movie happens here, but, in my opinion, it's done way better and, I'm not 100% sure about this, but I think this might be my favourite Studio Ghibli movie. It's so hard to explain but everything that happens in this movie just got me very emotionally and I absolutely adore this movie. I know other movies like Spirited Away or Howl's Moving Castle might be some other people's favourite Ghibli movie, but, for me, this is my favourite. It's hard to really explain, but, I've mentioned a lot already about how these movies usually don't have that much of interest really happening but they still keep that really engaging. And, in my opinion, this is the movie that does that the best. The first time I saw this, it filled me with so many emotions even though there really isn't that much going on, or, at the very least, it doesn't have anything that big about it, but, it's just the best way they could do this very smaller film. The movie is about a small girl named Kiki who's a witch and she's leaving home to find her own place and get a job. She and her cat Jiji fly off to a town where they find it hard to get accepted by the people, but she meets a lady named Osono who owns her own bread store and lets Kiki stay with her and Kiki decides to become a delivery girl with her flying for the shop. And that's really about it. It's mostly just following Kiki as she tries to adjust to being in this new town and doing these jobs and I think the film is all the better for it. Like I said, even though this is like a lot of other Ghibli movies where not that much is really happening, but there's something about it that's super engaging, there's just something about how this one does it in particular that made me really, really love it and make this film my favourite they've ever done. I guess the main thing I like is how they spend a lot of time in the town and you get to know it so well. I would say the animation helps with that because, as always, the film is really stunning, and the way they do this town is really gorgeous and makes going through it really relaxing. Actually, remember in My Neighbour Totoro, I mentioned how the film was a film that was really relaxing to watch? This one is the best one for that, I love when a movie can make me feel super relaxed from just watching the characters doing very mundane things, but they still have it very comforting to watch. But another big part of that is the characters themselves. I really, really love a lot of these characters. Kiki is very, very likeable, Jiji is pretty funny with his sarcastic sense of humour and a lot of the other characters like Osono, Tombo and Ursula are very likeable too. And just seeing them go through this town and living their lives is something I really love. I love that the film doesn't really have much of a structure to it. It doesn't feel like how a movie generally does with not really feeling like it's building to anything or there's any kinda pay-off. Sure, there is kind of a climax at the end, and I do like how they have it where it feels like Kiki is losing her powers and needs to be able think clearly in order to get them back and the way they do that is really interesting too with needing to save Tombo. But, before that, the regular stuff with the characters really does carry the movie for me. I love when Kiki helps that old lady bake something for her granddaughter and then when she doesn't like it, it's really rage inducing, and I love when Kiki meets Ursula for the first time and you see her passion for art and then when you see her again at the end when Kiki stays with her for a small while. And like I said, the animation really does make this town feel like a place you'd almost want to live in, but the animation also does other great stuff too like when she's flying around and gets blasted by the wind and how they do that is really impressive and amazing to watch, especially since this came out in 1989. And the English cast is absolutely flawless in this, they couldn't have done a better job. Kirsten Dunst is perfect as Kiki with the voice she's using that fits Kiki flawlessly, Phil Hartman is also perfect and funny as Jiji and others like Tress McNeille, Matthew Lawrence, Janeane Garofalo and Debbie Reynolds are all fantastic too. So again, I don't really know how to explain this, but even though this film does a lot of similar things to the other Ghibli movies with not anything crazy happening, it's just a very slow paced film where Kiki is trying to do well with this job and live her life, I just feel this movie is the one that does all of that to perfection better than the others and I love it for that. I just feel like this movie helped me understand more why people get so into these movies. I already kinda understood, but this one did it the best for me and made me adore these movies even more. And so, yeah, I would absolutely recommend checking this film out. Even you're not really a fan of this kind of movie, I would still say you should check this one out. My Neighbour Totoro

So out of all the Studio Ghibli movies out there, this one might be the most famous and well-known, My Neighbour Totoro. When I say this is the most famous Ghibli movie, I mean because this film's creature, Totoro, has pretty much become the mascot of all of Studio Ghibli. It's on the logo for Ghibli whenever you watch one of their movies and everything. As for this movie for me though, I was super curious to know what made this film so iconic for the studio and see what it was about. So, while I guess I personally wouldn't place this movie as one of my favourite Ghibli movies, I still really enjoyed it. It centres around two sisters named Satsuki and Mei and their dad as they move into a new house but they discover it's filled with spirits and all sorts of things like that and their mom is in the hospital so they're waiting for her to get better. One day, Mei discovers another kind of spirit named Totoro, this huge one that doesn't seem harmful so they keep trying to find him again. So, really, like a lot of other Ghibli movies, there's really not a lot of stuff happening in this as far as an actual plot, it's really just watching Satsuki and Mei living their lives and occasionally seeing Totoro, but they still manage to do it in very entertaining ways. And it's a very light hearted movie, which is good considering the last film, Grave Of The Fireflies was so heavy and heart-wrenching, so it's nice to have a film like this that's way more kid-friendly. And it's a very relaxing film too. That's another thing about Ghibli movies I really love, a lot of these can be very relaxing movies where you're just watching characters not doing much and just doing typical stuff, but it's really fascinating to watch and really relaxing as well. I love that about a lot of these movies. These characters are also a big help with that too. I really enjoy Satsuki and Mei and I really like their bond as sisters. And, again, I like how this film really doesn't really focus on any of the spirits either, it's really just focused on Satsuki and Mei trying to adjust to their lives being there while also being worried about their mom and fearing for her life and that's really about it. It's like I've said a ton of times already, I love how Ghibli movies can have not much of anything going on and just have the characters walk around doing whatever but still keep it really captivating. It's kinda weird because you would almost think this film would be focused more on the spirit stuff and trying to find out about that, but that's kind of a small side thing that's not focused on very much. In fact, despite being the titular character of the film, Totoro is barely in the film, you really only just see him about four times. But the pacing in those scenes is really well handled like when Mei first meets him or when Satsuki and Mei are waiting for a bus with him. Again, something about how it's paced and presented makes it super fun to watch. Also, I think the ending helps with that too. I like how even though this is a story focused on spirit aspects and all that, the end climax is actually very small, but also really relatable because Satsuki and Mei are both terrified that their mom is gonna die so Mei tries to go see her on her own but gets lost so the entire town tries to find her but eventually Satsuki gets Totoro's help to find her and they do and they're kind of able to go see their mom together and it's revealed that she's fine. It's really sweet. Speaking of sweet, I really like that Kanta boy they meet who acts really stand-offish for a lot of the movie but begins to act nicer towards the end. It's really nice and sweet to see him act nicer to them. I do also just really like the characters too, especially Satsuki, I really like her. I like her maturity and her bond with Mei with trying to protect her as much as possible. The dub definitely helps with that too. They actually got two actual sisters to voice Satsuki and Mei, Dakoda and Elle Fanning, and they both do an amazing job. They really feel like real sisters with the two of them voicing these two. But others like Pat Carrol, Tim Daly and Paul Butcher do a great job too. As for the stuff with Totoro himself, that stuff's fine. I don't think it's some of the best stuff Ghibli's ever done, but it's still very fun to watch regardless and I like the connection Satsuki and Mei build with him, and the animation as well is still fantastic. So, really, at the end of the day, I personally wouldn't really say this is one of my favourite Studio Ghibli movies, I can at least say I do somewhat understand why this would be some people's favourite and I do see why this would be so famous in regards to the popularity of the character of Totoro. He's even in some Disney movies like Toy Story 3, and it was cool when someone pointed that out for me. So, while I personally don't think it's absolutely incredible, but there are some really amazing things in it. So, yeah, I would say check this out to see what all the hype is about, but you should still watch it because it is really good. So, guys, that's my review for My Neighbour Totoro. Grave Of The Fireflies

So out of every single Studio Ghibli movie out there, this one right here is probably the most infamous, but I mean that in a good way. Out of every Ghibli movie, this one is the all time darkest. Whenever you hear people talking about this film, they'll tell you how absolutely depressing and powerful it is and how it's probably one of the saddest anime's of all time. And, yeah, they're right, this film is so emotional and depressing on so many levels and deals with some incredibly dark subjects. I think it's especially impressive since this was made in 1988 and they really touched on some really heatbreaking stuff. It's kind of a war movie set in World War 2, but it doesn't focus on the war, it focuses on a brother and sister named Seita and Setsuko who's mother is killed by bombs and now they need to live with their aunt but that eventually begins to fall apart as she gets annoyed with the two of them around and feeling like they don't deserve a whole bunch of food, but, Seita decides to take Setsuko and try to live on their own, but that begins to fall apart quickly too as they find it's incredibly difficult, especially given the circumstances of the war. So, I guess the main thing I like about this is that this is easily the most realistic Ghibli movie. A lot of the Studio Ghibli movies are set in different kinds of world with different kinds of creatures around, but here, it's just all realism with these two trying to survive in a traumatising setting and trying to survive. I think what makes it even more depressing is that the opening actually shows the two of them dead and the rest of the movie is a flashback to show how it happened, so immediately, you watch this wanting things to go right when you know they're not going to. So, you're seeing Seita trying to be mature and grown up and independant and responsible while all these horrible things are happening and you an really sympathise with the two of them because this is a super grueling environment that's super realistic and they're trying to survive in it. But you also see them do other things too like just trying to stay somewhat positive too with them in this awful setting. I also love how the animation compliments that because, usually with anime, I know a lot of them to be very flashy and do huge things like that, but, here, it's kept very realistic. Like I said, because this is such a realistic movie, the animation shows that with not doing anything over the top, but being still and letting the characters move like real people. And all that really does show more the gravity of the situation and all that and this is serious issue. I think the characters' personalities reflect this too. Like I said, Seita is trying to be mature and responsible and not need any help with this because he thinks he's up to the task when he's really not and Setsuko still acting like how a small child would act in this position too. But they're never once annoying or unlikeable, you'd almost think Seita would be detestable for letting something like this happen to the two of them, but they do these things in a way that makes them very likeable. I can also see this as another film where some people might be kinda bored because there isn't really that much happening and unlike a lot other Studio Ghibli movies where they're slow paced but are building to something big near the end, this one doesn't really have that. Again, it's just a super realistic slice of life in the middle of a horrible situation and seeing how they try to get through it but you know they're inevitable fate, and I think this kind of movie is the kind that people are gonna have to see at some point in their lives to understand how these situations happened for some people. The dub also helps makes these things all the more heartbreaking. Another sad part is towards the end when Seita learns about the results of the war and sees what happened and he's crushed by it. So, yeah, if you've heard of this movie before, then you know how emotionally devastating it is and I'm glad I finally saw it and understood what people were talking about. Persoanlly, I'm not sure if this is a movie I'd want to watch again. I was glad to see it the first time and see why people said it was so emotional, but I think because of just how emotional it is, I don't think I'd actually wanna see this again, but I am very glad I was able to see it to make this review at least. So, like the others, I would say check this out, but, yeah, be warned that this is a very emotionally crushing movie and not a pleasant experience, but one that I imagine you will be glad you had. Laputa: Castle In The Sky

Continuing my series of reviewing Studio Ghibli movies, we have the next one in the lineup, Laputa: Castle In The Sky. I know in some places, it's just called Castle In The Sky, but that's what it's called here. Anyway, this is another film I had heard so much praise for before seeing it and I was, again, really happy I was able to see this along with the other Ghibli movies and, despite this coming out after Nausicaa, I can notice some similarities between this and that, but I still see this as its own thing that I really enjoyed. This was another Ghibli film that Hayao Miyazaki directed and was made in 1986. Like I said, I can totally see the differences between this and the last film but, this film still has a charm about it. The movie opens with a girl named Sheeta in an airship that's then attacked by pirates who're after her but she then falls out and is found by a boy named Pazu after a crystal she's wearing makes her float to the ground. When she wakes up, the two of them get to know each other and Pazu reveals he's searching for a floating island called Laputa and they're then chased by the pirates again along with some men that Sheeta is trying to get away from. So, the majority of the film is them on the run while trying to discover Laputa itself. So, like I said, I noticed some pretty big differences between this and Nausicaa. For one, I think this film gets into its story a lot faster. It seems to be paced a bit faster and gets to the action faster too, but it's still paced extremely well and we still care for these characters a lot. I really like Sheeta and Pazu together and I like their dynamic. Plus, with the film being well paced, it knows when to have a fun action scene and when to let the characters be people and just sit and have a nice conversation and, again, the way Miyazaki does a lot of this is really facinating. I also love how the film changes during the halfway from Sheeta and Pazu running from the pirates and the men to the two of them teaming up with the pirates, and it's done extremely well. I like the stuff in the first half with the two of them in Pazu's town and on the run with the help of everyone there and then go to getting help from the pirates and exploring to find Laputa, I just love it. It's also like what I said in my review of Nausicaa where I love the technology they use and it's amazing that this was all thought of in 1986. It's especially impressive when they get to Laputa itself and seeing the different ways the technology there looks. Speaking of, it's cool how the climax takes place on Laputa and it's cool that it's revealed that that Muska guy is the main villain and, again, the fact that Laputa works in different ways allows for a lot of different opportunities and it does look like they take advantage of all of them. It also seems to stick on these action scenes a lot longer than the last time too and I think that makes it even more fun too, but it still doesn't foget to just let the characters be like real people and let them just talk and still make it really interesting. I love how Miyazaki is able to balance all that really well with these movies. I also just really enjoy these characters too. I really like Sheeta and Pazu, but I especially really like the pirates here. They're all really fun, funny and have this really enjoyable dynamic, especially when it comes to the captain, Dola, she's so much fun to watch. Also, like the other Ghibli movies, the film is absolutely stunning. Even in some of the films I don't like as much, I can never deny how absolutely gorgeous these films looks and it's no different here because they once again made the scenery and all the things like that beautiful, especially on Laputa itself where there's all this architecture around the place and stuff like that. I love how they even take advantage of that in various ways during the climax too. Plus, the dub in this is so much fun to listen to as well. I already mentioned how fun a lot of these characters are and a lot of that can be attributed to how well done the dub is. James Van Der Beek and Anna Paquin do great as Pazu and Sheeta, but others like Cloris Leachman and Mark Hamill are fantastic as well as Dola and Muska. So, yeah, while I don't think I liked this more than Nauicaa, I still had a great time with this and it was just much fun watching these characters going through this adventure. So yeah, I would recommend checking this out, it's a lot of fun. Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind

So, guys, this entry right here is about to start off a new series of reviews for a little bit and that's my reviews for all Studio Ghibli movies. If you don't know, Studio Ghibli is Japanese animated studio that's created some of the best and some of the most famous animated movies ever. So many people have spoken about their movies and talked about how so many of their films are absolutely incredible. So, towards the end of 2021, I started getting the DVDs of their movies and I recently finished getting them all and watching them. Something else that's really cool is that Disney is actually what helped bring them over from Japan and dubbed almost all of them. Some were dubbed by another company and only one wasn't dubbed at all. So, I got curious to check them out and got them all and watched them and, I'm not gonna lie, I was surprised by how some of them made me feel. I heard from people about how some were so emotional and wholesome in so many ways. I already knew some of them would be extremely emotional and I already saw some reviews for a few, but I kinda forgot about some of them before starting and I think that was a good thing because watching them blind made me love some of these in different ways and it was incredible experiencing them like that. The studio was founded by Hayao Miyazaki and so many people have praised his geniusness and I completely agree. Having finally been able to watch these movies, I'm a huge fan of him now. I know he didn't work on all these movies, but he has done a lot of them and he is responsible for these being made anyway. So, now that I'm finally finished watching them, I decided to review them all. I realise I haven't done a series of reviews for movies in a long time, but this is my first in a long time, so, let's begin with Studio Ghibli's first real movie, Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind. Like almost all the other Studio Ghibli movies, I had already heard great things about the film beforehand like I said, but, it was great to go in the way I did and appreciate this for what it was. The story follows a princess named Nausicaa who's from the Valley Of The Wind. This is also a world after a war that destoryed so much and now she's trying to get humanity and nature to coincide while there's also a dangerous and poisonous forest as well. But, after the valley is attacked by people from another kingdom, led by a woman named Kushana, Nausicaa's Dad is killed but she still agrees to go with them to stop the violence but they're attacked and Nausicaa then meets a prince named Asbel who wants her help in a fight but she wants all fighting to stop period and he eventually comes to agree too. So a lot of the film is them travelling from place to place and meeting different people while trying to find the right thing to do, especially since this world also has these giant bug creatures that Nausicaa is trying to help too. So what I really like about this film is actually something that I think Studio Ghibli films do really well a lot of the time and that's have a slow pace, but still making its world and characters incredibly interesting. I don't think that works for all their movies, but, when it does, it's some of the most facinating stuff I've seen in a movie in a long time. These movies are really slow paced and this film is no different. I can imagine some people being kinda bored by that, but I think the majority would find this incredibly captivating. What I think helps that a lot is the worldbuilding and the way this film does that is interesting because the first part of this film is mostly a lot of explaining to get us to know what this world is like and how it works and it's done kinda slowly, but still in a way that's incredibly interesting and then the second half is about a lot of action where Nausicaa and Asbel are trying to save everyone in the valley and the bug creatures that're being lured there to destroy it and so there's a lot of action and all that in the second half that gets us invested since the first part built up these characters and world so well. It's also fun to follow the villains here too. It's hard to explain but even though you could see Kushana and her henchmen as hateable for what they do, there's something about them that's really fun to watch too that I really love. I also love the look of this film. All of Studio Ghibli's films look amazing with feature film anime animation and it's always phenomenal, and that's really impressive since this was made in 1984 and this stuff looks beautiful to look at, especially the scenery. I love how a lot of the stuff that's used here is really creative like the technology. Again, the fact that this was made in the early 80's makes it really incredible to watch and see what they came up with. I also love the different relationships everyone has like how Nausicaa is really well liked the valley and her relationship with everyone there is really sweet and her relationship with Asbel is nice to watch, especially the scene with them in that cave under the forest, and Kushana's relationship with her main henchman is fun too. A lot of that can also be attributed to the characters themselves, who're really likeable. Nausicaa herself is probably my favourite. I know that's a very simple choice, but I really love her maturity in the film as well as how she handles different situations and how she goes through the film in different ways is nice to watch too. I also really loved the climax too because it's fairly tense, but also really interesting. Like I said, people are trying to lure these huge bugs to the valley to destroy it so Nausicaa is trying to stop it and the way it happens is really nuts because she's trying to get the baby back to the others safe but then she's covered by some light with some illusion and that helps. Again, it's nuts, but the way Studio Ghibli does all this stuff a lot is crazy but still believeable and satisfying a lot of the time. The dub in this is really fantastic. The dub for these Ghibli movies are always fantastic and this one has a great cast, Alison Lohman as Nausicaa, Patrick Stewart, Shia LaBeouf, Uma Thurman, Chris Sarandon, they all do a amazing job. I just really loved this film. It's one of my favourite Ghibli movies. I was just really happy to discover this movie when I did and be able to see why people get so into these movies and I would definitely say check this out if you're an anime fan and if you're just curious at least. My Hisoka Morow collectible (Review)

So, recently, I was able to get two Yoshihiro Togashi character collectibles, and one of them was Hisoka from Hunter x Hunter. I've always really loved Hisoka as a character in the series, I mentioned this before that he's one of those anime characters who does absolutely horrible things but there's something about him that makes him so fun to watch and so likeable and everything else like that and it was cool to get him and add him to the display case next to Gon and Killua. This one specifically is also pretty different from a lot of other ones I have because it's made by a different compant, but it's still really great anyway. Also, I did some stuff in this video for fun and that I thought was pretty funny. And so, anyway, here it is and I hope you all like this.

My Yugi Muto collectible (Review)

So, I'm kinda late with showing this video on here, but I'm here showing it now and, this time, I was able to get a collectible for Yugi Muto himself. I already had collectibles for Atem, Jaden and Yusei, but I was able to get this one showing my new one of Yugi Muto himself, basically the main character of the whole Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise next to Atem. This was also just cool to have another protagonist from the franchise with the others and, what makes that even more exciting for me persoanlly is that there's apparently gonna be one for Yuma coming out at some point, don't know when, hopefully soon though, and it'll be incredible when it's out and I'll hopefully be able to get it when it does release. Plus, it's just awesome to have him because I really, really love Yugi as a character so it's just cool to have a collectible of him too and have him with Atem, Jaden and Yusei. Also, this specific collectible of him is from the Dark Side Of Dimensions movie. Unlike the others though, he doesn't have a Duel Disk with him, which is a little weird to see, but he's still holding a card anyway so that's cool at least. Anyway, here it is and I hope you all like this.

Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania

So guys, we're at the first M.C.U movies of 2023 and the first movie in Phase 5, Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania. I wasn't super excited for this if I'm being honest. The first two Ant-Man movies aren't some of my favourite M.C.U movies and you could kinda look at them as being in the lower end of all the films, but the premise and the trailers for this did look interersting enough. It was interesting that we would get a whole movie in the Quantum Realm since the first two were all about learning about it and different things to do with it too. However, early reviews were making me pretty nervous because they were saying this was one of the worst M.C.U movies and its score on Rotten Tomatoes wasn't good either, not to mention the fact that the last few M.C.U movies haven't been that good either like Thor: Love And Thunder and Eternals. Sure, Wakanda Forever was really good and Multiverse Of Madness was pretty good, but, yeah, some people really aren't on board as much as they used to when it comes to this stuff. Anyway, I was still curious about the movie and since Kang was gonna play more of a role in this, it made me all the more curious. So, in the end, I know I'm probably gonna be in a minority about this, but I personally really, really liked this. I really don't understand the hate for this movie at all. I had a really, really good time with this movie and I think it's my favourite Ant-Man movie. No, it's not perfect by any means and it does have some serious problems, but, overall, I really liked this and think this is now my official new most underrated thing in the M.C.U. Yes, again, I am gonna go over the problems because there's some really noticeable ones here that're really weird, but I'm really happy I saw this. Also, like always, this'll have no spoilers for the first part and then I'll go into all the spoilers after a warning. Okay, so, what's the story? Scott is enjoying life after the events of Endgame where he's seen as like a celebrity, but he's having trouble with Cassie, this time played by Kathryn Newton, who's being arrested for trying to help protesters whose lives are being affected after the Snap happened. But, one day, when at Hank's house, they discover that Cassie has built a device to send a message to the Quantum Realm which is something that makes Janet very nervous and when trying to turn it off, it goes haywire and sends Scott, Hope, Cassie, Hank and Janet into the Quantum Realm and getting separated so they're now trying to find each other while trying to avoid Kang trying to find them. And I'm gonna stop right there, so, I dunno exactly how people would react to that whole synopsis I just gave there because depending on who you ask, this could be seen as something that sounds kinda interesting or something people could be very iffy about. But, in my opinion, just from how the film is told and how everything is done, I think they made this into a really fun time. Again, it does have flaws and I'll go over those first because there are a good amount of them. The first and probably the biggest problem I have is the first twenty or so minutes. The pacing is really off in this movie in the beginning. The first twenty or so minutes are really rushed. You can tell they really just want to get to the stuff in the Quantum Realm so they go through all the stuff on Earth really quickly and just want to get the main plot of the movie and it felt kinda clunky. The dialogue can also be weird sometimes. Sometimes it's just characters talking like how movie characters talk and not actual people, especially in regards to the build up of Kang himself where they're trying to keep it a secret to make it feel like huge build up, but it can make the dialogue feel kinda unnatural at points. Also, there are some tiny moments in the action scenes in particular where I just kinda asked myself why some characters didn't do specific things because they could have but they didn't for some reason. Some of the editing is kinda weird too, especially when they try to reveal some stuff and it just cuts to the person without some big reveal and that was really weird with Kang's first real appearance in the film too. And, yeah, like some people were concerned about, some of the C.G.I doesn't look that great and there are time where they kinda set something up only to not go anywhere with it, which is weird in one instance in particular. So, yeah, I guess if people were to say they didn't like this film, I can't act like I don't know why because it does have a good amount of problems and even just weird scenes and some dumb stuff too. But, with all that out of the way, I can finally move onto what I really liked here. For one, I really loved the cast here. In my opinion, the cast definitely helped save this movie for me because I think they all did a great job. Paul Rudd is of course still fantastic as Scott. He's still super likeable, really funny and nails everything he's supposed to do. Evangaeline Lily, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer are also still great here as Hope, Hank and Janet, and I absolutely loved Kathryn Newton as Cassie. She was very fun, very likeable and had great interactions with the other cast members. I really liked her and Scott together, they were very fun in my opinion. Jonathan Majors as Kang is also great here. I wasn't really a fan of what they did with him in Loki, though that was technically a different variant of him, but he does a great job here and Kang is a really cool villain. I heard from people that he was a huge highlight for the film and I agree, he was really cool and did have some intimidating moments. The movie can also be really creative at times since they're in this other-worldy place and they do have some fun with it. The film is also pretty funny at times, and thankfully not overdone with it like Love And Thunder was. Speaking of, I feel like they sorta embraced some dumb stuff for the better. As in they did stuff they probably knew was gonna be dumb and stupid so they just embraced it and knew what it was and just had fun with it. And, again, just with how the story was being told and shown and all that was what really kept me interested enough even when some weird stuff happened that I felt wasn't really working for me. I also really liked how this film subverted some of my expectations because there were times where something kinda being set up at the start and I had a feeling it gonna work its way into the characters' arcs at the end in some way, and I was right in the sense that it did, but not the way I thought they would and it made me feel relieved because I thought some of them were gonna be stupid and clichéd, but they actually did it in a way that I thought was really likeable. I also feel like the end climax was really exciting and both of the credit scenes made me excited for what could be happening soon. So overall, I persoanlly had a really good time with this film. Again, I know I'm gonna be in a minority when I say that, and if people say they didn't like this, I can't say I don't see why, but, really, I just felt like this was one of the most fun M.C.U experiences I've had in a while, and I personally like how this was the start of Phase 5 for the M.C.U. So, I personally would recommend checking this out if you're curious, but, if you don't like it, I suppose I understand. So, this review might have been kinda all over the place, but that really is how I feel about this. And so everyone, those are my thoughts on Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania. Okay, so, I guess the first thing I should address is the opening scene showing a flashback with Janet in the Quantum Realm discovering the Kang variant who landed there. I like how they have it where he was essentially banished there by the other Kangs so it was cool to see that and it was cool when it was later revealed that Janet helped him fix his ship and get his powers back without knowing what he was and so that made that part kinda interesting to me, even if a part of it did feel a like just simple exposition. I really liked when Scott and Cassie were in that small town with those rebels and trying to earn their trust, and the scene where Hope, Hank and Janet were in that bar is kinda what I meant by having some stuff be kinda wasted because that's when we meet Bill Murray's character and he's only in this one scene and then he's killed, so it felt kinda pointless. Another huge spoiler is M.O.D.O.K, who's eventually revealed to be Darren Cross from the first movie. This is something I imagine is either gonna be fine to people or makes people hate the whole movie because this part is so weird. I didn't necessarily hate it, though, yeah, the C.G.I on him looked really weird with the huge head thing, but this is what I meant by the film feeling like it knew what it was and just embraced it because it didn't feel like that part was meant to be taken super seriously and whenever they did kinda do something slightly serious with it, it is still played as a joke and there were some parts with it that I found funny. But, anyway, I liked when Cassie is in the prison and manages to get those resistance fighters out and this is what I meant by having something done in a way that subverted my expectations because when that was set up at the start with her in jail trying to help people, I thought it was gonna be done in way that was gonna be dumb, but I liked how it was done here with Cassie giving that message to everyone to encourage them and then the end climax, while, yeah, some parts were kinda pointless, and it had some moments like I said before where the characters didn't do some specific things like why didn't Kang shoot Scott and the others with that erasing beam he was shooting at everyone else, I thought was pretty cool and I liked when both Scott and Cassie grew and took down the shield and M.O.D.O.K, and I liked how he sacrificed himself and that part is what I meant by that not needing to be taken seriously because they do do it in a way I thought was funny and they kinda made fun of it themselves that wasn't distracting. And then the actual end fight with Scott and Hope vs. Kang was cool with the way they knocked him into the core and killed him that way. I honestly thought they were gonna be stuck in the Quantum Realm themselves and that would be how the movie ends, but then the others help them. Yeah, that was a bit confusing, but, whatever, I guess. Then, as far as the credit scenes, the first one was cool, I guess, though kinda weird. I dunno, I like the idea that all the Kang variants are coming together, but some of it seemed kinda weird to me. And the end credit scene was kind the same with it being cool that we saw Loki and Mobius with it being a set up for Loki: Season 2, but I'm a little curious about what was going on with the Kang variant there. So, I'm very curious to know what's gonna happen now. And so, yeah, everyone, that's my review of Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania. Dragon Ball Z Kai (Anime Review)

So guys, this is a pretty interesting entry for me to make because I decided to make an anime review for Dragon Ball Z Kai. I say this is interesting because I was wondering for a while if I actually wanted to make a review for this since I was wondering if I would really have that much to say about this, but, after thinking about it a bit, I decided to. Anyway, as for this series, Dragon Ball Z Kai was a series created in 2009 by Toei Animation where they decided to rerelease and kinda remake Dragon Ball Z. Not necessarily, but something kinda like that. They basically did this as a way to shorten the original series and make it more like the manga. The reason I got into this series, beyond being a Dragon Ball fan and wanting to check it out at all, is because the DVDs for this series began coming out here and in 2020, especially due to the Coronavirus, I was able to get a lot more anime and I was trying to get into more series, which I did with a few others like Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and 5D's, Hunter x Hunter and some other ones too. But, yeah, it was just a nice oppotunity to try to get into more shows and this was one of them. Actually, this is something else that's really interesting for me to think about because Dragon Ball Z Kai was actually the very first thing Dragon Ball related I ever heard of back in 2012 or 2013 because, sometimes, I would go out to my Nan's house and I would watch TV and there was an ad for the series on KIX and I saw it few times. I obviously didn't know what it was back then or know anything about it and I never watched it back then, I just remember seeing the ad a few times and thinking it was just another children's cartoon. It's pretty funny thinking about it years later because of how far I've come in understand it and anime as a whole. But, anyway, back to the series itself, like I said, this was a shortened version of Dragon Ball Z because what they did is that they took the original series and took out the filler and shortened other events as well to make the series flow a lot better and give it a better pace. So, instead of being 291 episodes, they managed to make it 167. Not only that, but they also touched up the animation to make it look better and cleaner and make it more modernised. So, this helped make the series much more manageable and accessible. Also, the series is easier to get for a few reasons like being cheaper to get overall and there's only seven seasons for the whole series instead of nine. So all this just helped make going through the series way, way, way easier. So, when watching specific moments in the series, this series made it easier to watch them and it didn't make them feel like they overstayed their welcome so that made it more welcoming and actually helped make some moments feel a lot more epic in my opinion. But, onto the series itself, there's so many things that I can talk about in regards to what it improved. For one, it does look a lot nicer because what they did for the animation was that they apparently traced over the original animation to make it look cleaner and nicer looking. And, not only did they rerelease it in English, but it was redubbed as well so a lot of the old actors from the original Dragon Ball Z returned and some new ones joined the cast too and this also helped make the dialogue and acting from everyone way better, especially Sean Schemmel as Goku. He's always incredible as Goku, but his performance as him here was definitely an improvement over his version in the original. Not only that, but the new actors they got helped elevate the material more too like Chris Ayres as Frieza who helped make him even more fun than he already is. Speaking of, like I said, the lack of filler helped make going through this series a lot more managable and helped make the Sagas like the Frieza Saga easier to go through and made them even more enjoyable, and a lot of that has to do with the improved pace which means all the events that felt like it was moving at a snail's pace in the original are reduced so you can get to specific moments in the story way quicker and they're not interupted with either terrible filler episodes or annoying jokes like in the original. Really, I just feel like this is the superior way to experience the entire Dragon Ball Z story, like you don't really have to worry about a lot of the problems people like me have had about the original Dragon Ball Z for a long time with it either having annoying filler arcs and a slow pace that could make trying to get through it feel insufferable sometimes. Also, since the series still keeps everything about the original since it's still technically the same animation, you still get the same iconic action scenes the way they were originally and the animation on them is touched up so that can help too so we get a lot of great moments like this.

So when we reach huge moments in the story like these and watching characters like Goku, Vegeta, Gohan and everyone else doing what we know they're gonna do, the feeling of being able to go through the story the way it's supposed to just makes these moments feel all the more satisfying and all the more enjoyable. However, something I found really weird about this series is the ending because, for the Majin Buu Saga, the whole thing was three seasons long again like in the original. I realise they did cut out a lot the stuff from the original that was just filler, but it was still kinda tough to have to go through that part of the series considering a lot of this was already in the manga so all that was still tough to get through since I still don't like this Saga at all and, even with a couple of small improvements from Kai, it still overstays its welcome and goes on for way too long. Yeah, the ending fight with Goku and Vegeta vs. Kid Buu is really awesome and it's still the only good part of it in my opinion, but, just trying to get through everything else still feels like a chore. But, overall, Dragon Ball Z Kai is definitely a huge help for anyone trying to get into the series and being a great intro into for people for the first time. The fact that it's way shorter also just helps make the series great for binge watching too. It's really great to see these moments with these characters have so much more weight in my opinion because of how much this helps and, in my opinion, I think this really should be the only way people should watch Dragon Ball Z because it's a significant improvement over the original. You get to see a lot of these characters get to specific moments way faster and just hearing the new performances from everyone is a huge benefit too. I just loved watching this and I think this does serve as a great way to watch it. Also, I could wrong, but I think even Dragon Ball Super acknowledged this as the canon version because I think they used clips from this version in Dragon Ball Super when they were rememebering specific instances. Again, could be wrong, but that's what it felt like to me. But, anyway, yeah, I do love Dragon Ball Z Kai way more than I do the original and it helped me love the series way more than Z did. Also, I know this'll probably never happen, but what I think would be really awesome would be if a lot of other anime took this route and did this similar thing of doing kinda like a remake of an anime by taking out filler of an anime and just leaving in the canon stuff. The most obvious ones I can think of are the entire Naruto franchise, One Piece, Bleach and some other ones too. But, again, probably not gonna happen, it would be really awesome though. Anyway, overall, I had a great time with Dragon Ball Z Kai and it might be my favourite entry in the entire Dragon Ball franchise. Not sure about that, but it's a possibility and I really do think you should check it out if you're a Dragon Ball fan yourself. I know this review was pretty different from my usual anime reviews, but I just felt this was kinda necessary and I really wanted to give my thoughts on it overall. My Tokoyami collectible (Review) and a special announcement

So, this is a really late entry to make because, last month, I finally got my collectible of Tokoyami from My Hero Academia. Not really sure why it's taken me this long to make this entry, but I made this last month and was able to add it to the others I've got. This was supposedly the last My Hero Academia collectible made at the time because I've been trying to get ones for all of Class 1A from the series and the one I got before this was Mineta and I thought I had them all, and I guess I technically did because this figure only came out recently and it wasn't exactly easy because it took a while for it to arrive and there was a bit of trouble there. But I eventally got it and made my review of it and there's even more coming out soon like Jiro is coming out soon too, so that's cool to be getting more of these. I'm just hoping the rest of the class get Banpresto figures too. And, as far the title I have now, I say I have a special announcement because before I made this video last month, I actually made it to 1000 subscribers on my channel and I wanted to dedicate the end of this video to saying thank you to all my subscribers for helping me get this far. Not only that, but, after I made this video, I made another as a way of saying thank you as well with some new stuff I did on my computer special for the occasion.
