Code Geass: Lelouch Of The Rebellion (Anime Review)

All right, guys, so, going back to my new anime reviews is the one I've finished most recently, Code Geass. I'd been hearing about this one a lot. It's my brother's favourite anime and I knew it was hailed as a great show. So all this made me really curious to see it. I even mentioned before about how it was an anime I hoped to start at some point. So, a few months ago, I finally managed to get started on it with my brother's DVDs of it and then after a while, I got my own Blu-Ray of the whole show and finished it. And, in the end, I don't think I loved it the same way everyone else does, but I thought this was a really great show. I'm honestly surprised by how much I like this, but there was so much great stuff in it that I loved. Also, like always, this will have all the spoilers, so be prepared for all the spoilers in this. So, the plot centers around a guy named Lelouch Vi Britannia who's part of a royal family who have subjugated all of Japan. His family also has a huge empire that use giant mechs called Nightmares. This is something Lelouch hates and wants to do something about it, especially to make a better world for his younger sister, Nunnally. But then, one day, he encounters a girl named C.C who gives him a power in his eye called the Geass which can be used to make anyone he looks in the eye do whatever he says. After this, he decides to start a rebellion called the Black Knights with other people who want to free Japan and he wears a mask calling himself Zero. He's having to deal with the fact that his best friend, Suzaku, is now a member of the empire and is fighting against him, and I'm gonna stop there. So, the beginning of the series has a really great set up because it introduces this world and these characters really well while also leaving a ton of things open as questions because it just leaves us curious to know so much. I also liked how this reminds me a bit of something like Death Note but it still feels unique in its own way. And a big part of me liking this were the characters. I really liked so many of them. Some of them aren't that memorable, but the majority of them are, especially Lelouch himself. It's really interesting the way his character is set up and then presented with being in the position he is, but also being incredibly intelligent and manipulative, but in a good way, not like someone like Light. But he's also so well written in so many ways with being this guy who's trying to take down an empire while also trying to keep his identity a secret while also having to deceive everyone around him and having to deal with a whole bunch of stuff in school and other things like that. Another character I really like is Kallen. This girl who's part of the Black Knights who's one of the first people trying to fight against the Britannia empire as well along with some other people like Ohgi with Nightmares of their own and she's eventually thrown through a whole bunch other dilemmas herself. But I also love how the first part of this series goes because it keeps going with Lelouch and the Black Knights trying to free as much of Japan as possible by fighting different factions of the empire's army. But there's a lot more to it considering there's a whole bunch of different twists in this like when C.C returns and sorta acts as like a small guide for Lelouch and teaches him different about the Geass. There's also a whole bunch of other crazy things that happen like when Lelouch is forced to use the Geass to erase the memory of a girl named Shirley who had a crush on him after she realises he's Zero and has done some kinda bad things. But that part actually leads to a pretty cool part with a guy named Mao who also has a Geass in both his eyes who has an obsession with C.C. We also learn that he can't turn his Geass off and his has the ability to read people's minds but it eventually evolved to the point where he couldn't turn it off and it drove him insane. And there's an incredible scene where Mao kidnaps Nunally and he challenges Lelouch to a chess match and every wrong move Lelouch makes means Nunally will die. And what makes it worse is that Mao can read his mind. So Lelouch gets the idea to use the Geass on himself to make him forget a plan he made with Suzaku so he couldn't read his mind about it. That was a fantastic scene and then Mao is then killed by C.C. But Mao's Geass not being able to be turned off eventually leads to something else happening. Anyway, from that point, we get a bunch of other crazy stories like when Lelouch, Suzaku, Kallen and Lelouch's other sister named Euphemia somehow appear on an island during a fight with all their Nightmares after Lelouch tries to use his Geass on Suzaku to live. And Euphemia is like Lelouch in the sense that she wants peace with everyone too but without violence and she serves as like a bright spot in this world until eventually something happens with her later on, but we'll get to that soon. Lelouch has also gotten a reputation for himself as well as added more people to the Black Knights with so many people respecting him as Zero and just having a lot of people on his side. And all this builds up to a point where Lelouch agrees to go to an assembly arranged by Euphemia called the Specially Administrated Zone Of Japan where Euphemia hopes to unite the people from Japan and Britannia together in peace. And Lelouch appears Zero because Euphemia knows it's him and asks him to come as a way to unite everyone. I already knew what was gonna happen at this point which made the eventual scene that follows all the tougher to watch and that more horrifying. It's the scene where Lelouch accidently uses the Geass on Euphemia when he's joking about her killing all the Japanese people and this happens when he begins to experience signs of not being able to turn his Geass off and so the next scene is absolutely terrifying when Euphemia then just starts killing every single Japanese person she can find with the other Britannian soldiers doing the same with no one having any idea what's going on. And it's made all the sadder when Lelouch is eventually forced to kill her. And this makes it worse when Suzaku sees this who'd fallen in love with her and so this makes him even angrier at him. And this is when we're introduced to V.V, who knows C.C. And, again, a whole bunch of stuff happens here like when Lelouch plans to create a new country called the United States Of Japan, Villetta almost kills Ohgi and V.V kidnapping Nunally which leads to Lelouch abandoning the Black Knights to try to save her. And this is all happening while everyone's still fighting Britannia and Suzaku is trying to get revenge for Lelouch killing Euphemia. But then Lelouch, Suzaku and Kallen go to the island they were at before where both Kallen and Suzaku find out who he is as Zero and the first season ends with both of them just aiming their guns at each other. It's totally insane with what happens here, but this first season is really great. It has ingenious writing and fantastic ideas. There's so many scenes where these characters have to use their wits to outsmart each other and it's done really effectively because of just how intelligent all these characters are. And every episode usually ends with you wanting to learn more and know what's gonna happen next because a lot of the endings have cliffhangers that leave you wanting to now what's gonna happen. And a lot of these action scenes are awesome, especially the fights with the Nightmares because a lot of these mechs move super fast with insane movements and weapons that it's really fun to watch. And, really, just a lot of the character stuff itself I did find really interesting like Lelouch at his school and him as Zero talking to everyone in the Black Knights and other characters got great moments too like Kallen, Ohgi and other ones. The one I can mainly think who was kinda annoying was Suzaku. But, I think that was the point. He's the one fighting against Lelouch so it makes sense that you're supposed to be rooting against him. But still, they do try to help us understand him and he's not really an unlikeable character. And then the next season starts and leaves us with even more questions because we're introduced to Lelouch again but he doesn't have any memory of anything and he now somehow has a younger brother named Rolo. This whole part left me really curious as to what was happening and then it's later revealed that Suzaku actually took Lelouch at the end of the last season to Lelouch's dad named Charles Zi Britannia, who's pretty much the main villain of the whole show, who also has a Geass power and he erased Lelouch's memory and made him forget everything and made him think he was in a fake reality and with fake memories of a brother named Rolo he never had. But then, eventually, C.C and the Black Knights are able to bring his memories back with Rolo as well who also has a Geass that allows him to stop time for a few seconds. But then they get back to work with trying to stop the empire while Lelouch finds out Nunally is with his family and now he wants to save her while she's also planning to recreate the Specially Administrated Zone Of Japan and there's a great moment that comes from this too because Lelouch is able to get himself as Zero exiled from Japan but then he managed to get everyone dressed up as Zero which means they're all exiled and are able to leave however they want. Again, just small things like that that're really clever are what made me like this show a lot. And then we get more Nightmare battles in the next few episodes are the story is progressing and other small things happen too like when Lelouch and the other Black Knights kidnap the Chinese Empress as a hostage. And, there's still a lot of sad or heartbreaking moments her like when a weapon Nina created kills dozens of people or when it looks like Nunally gets killed or when Rolo kills Shirley. And you can tell that this is all pushing Lelouch more and more until it looks like he can't take it anymore and you can really sympathise with him and see where he's going. It's just really great storytelling and it doesn't really let up from there because we get a whole lot more stuff with Kallen getting kidnapped and C.C is revealed to be some girl from somewhere who was unloved and wanted to be loved by people which gave her powers and other things which eventually leads to her previous mind coming back and she's scared of everything again but then her memories of the show come back. I did find that part kinda weird and not very necessary it does serve a bit of a purpose with Lelouch trying to take care of her, but still. But you can also tell Lelouch is being pushed towards almost becoming a villain himself with him going through so much and eventually this leads to him confronting Charles and finding out the truth, especially about his mother who he thought was dead but was actually in the body of a girl. I didn't see that coming at all and there's just a whole bunch of revelations happening at this point but eventually, Lelouch is able to kill both his parents who were planning to rule everything. But then, to make things worse, one of Lelouch's brothers reveals his identity as Zero to all the Black Knights and convinces them that they're all under Lelouch's Geass. And this is all leading to something. I like how you can tell something is clearly being planned by someone but you don't know what's gonna happen. I also like how even at this point, the characters still use really clever schemes like there's a point where Lelouch is able to use his Geass on one of his brothers and just the way he does it is super clever. But Lelouch then sorta makes it look like he's gonna be like his dad and be a ruthless leader and takes his place with now fighting against the Black Knights and learning Nunally is still alive. And the eventual ending is sad too where Lelouch makes it look like he's gonna take the Black Knights to be executed but then he has Suzaku agree to dress up as Zero and kill him in front of everyone as a way to unite the world against a single enemy and then free the world. It's pretty sad seeing him sacrifice himself like this with everyone thinking he's still a bad guy. Though I guess it is nice at least when Nunally finds out what he was trying to do and understands him. And I think Kallen does as well. I'm not sure if that's confirmed, but I think she does. But, yeah, overall, this is really fantastic way to end the series. And, as a whole, this was a really, really fantastic show all around. I originally started watching this series back in 2018 but it didn't interest me all that much, but I decided to try it again a few months ago and I'm so glad I did because this was just a really great series overall. It might actually be one of my favourite anime's now. It just has so much good stuff in it, the characters are very complex and interesting, the plot moves at a great pace with fantastic twists in it along with some really heart wrenching scenes and its action scenes are incredibly well animated. Speaking of which, the animation as well is absolutely gorgeous. This was done by Studio Sunrise and they did a great job with this. I will say, sometimes the way the characters themselves move does look a little strange, but it's still really unique and it's not distracting in any way. The dubbing is also absolutely incredible, especially Johnny Yong Bosh as Lelouch himself. I mean, when you get Johnny Yong Bosh in an anime, you know you're gonna get a fantastic performance and he does do an amazing job here. And the rest are great to like Yuri Lowenthal as Suzaku and Karen Strassman as Kallen. I did have a couple of problems in this like there are some episodes could be considered filler and there are some plot points that feel like they could be removed and the story wouldn't feel like it would change much at all. But none of that is a detriment to the quality of the show. It's still really compelling and keeps you invested in its story. But, yeah, overall, I'm super glad I watched this series and I hope to watch it again soon. So, yeah, I highly recommend checking this out. It's a really fantastic series and it's also a great series to binge watch. So, yeah, everyone, that's my review for Code Geass: Lelouch Of The Rebellion. Loki: Season 1

All right, everyone, we're here at the latest of the Disney+ Marvel shows, Loki. Another Marvel show I was excited for, especially since this is something people have kinda wanted for a while. A solo adventure with Loki and we finally got it. And from the trailers, it looked like this was gonna be a crazy and fun and weird adventure so that just made it even better. And, in the end, the first season wasn't perfect at all, but I still had a great time with it. I would say that I probably enjoyed this around the same level as The Falcon And The Winter Soldier and a bit more than WandaVision. Also, as each episode came out, it was fun to theorize what exactly what gonna happen in the next episode, especially when I was talking to a friend of mine about it. Also, this'll have all the spoilers, so keep that in mind. Anyway, the show follows Loki from Avengers: Endgame from the first Avengers movie who escaped with the Tesseract in that film and he's then immediately taken by a group called the TVA who say they manage everything in time and try to keep all the timelines in check. At first Loki sees all of this as crazy and insane, but after he meets a guy there named Mobius, played by Owen Wilson, he agrees to help them catch a variant, which is like a person from a timeline. But there's a lot more to it than that like the variant revealed to be a female Loki named Sylvie, played by Sophia Di Martino, and there's a huge mystery being built up that someone is behind a huge conspiracy and now the rest of the show is everyone trying to find out who it is. So what I really liked the most about this show was the insane, crazy, space adventure aspect to it. There's a lot of absolutely bonkers things that happen throughout the show and I loved it. I also loved all the performances. Tom Hiddleston in particular is once again fantastic as Loki and he's really fun to watch again. And the rest of the cast are also incredible, especially Owen Wilson and Sophia Di Martino. Owen Wilson makes this kinda character who you would think would be kinda annoying and generic and makes Mobius super likeable and funny as well. And Sophia Di Martino does a great job as Sylvie with being this character who's been on the run from the TVA who want to capture her even though she never did anything at all and they just want to capture her. And the first episode in particular did a really good job with setting a lot of this up. I like the crazy setting of the TVA itself with being this big futuristic looking place but it also has an normal looking office which makes it both cool and funny. And the first episode also did a good job with the Loki and Mobius relationship where we see them both being annoyed with each other and they both try to outsmart each other in a way but then at the end, they both kinda open up to each other a bit more. The first episode also made Loki himself more interesting because we get to see him see how his life would have continued. Since this Loki is from the first avengers film, Mobius shows him what he would have done with the rest of his life from the rest of the M.C.U movies after the first Avengers. So we get to see this Loki see himself get killed in Infinity War and it just made him a whole lot more interesting from that point. The first episode was also really funny, especially when Loki's talking to that Casey guy about fish. That's easily one of the funniest scenes in the whole show.

And then the end of the episode when Mobius tells Loki about the other Loki and then it's revealed to be Sylvie in the next episode, that was pretty cool. And, speaking of the next episode, that was pretty cool too with Loki joining the TVA to find the other Loki and it's pretty cool when Loki thinks of the idea to go to different apocalypses throughout time because he figures since the other Loki can't do anything with that timeline considering they're already doomed to be destroyed through the apocalypses, then they can't be caught doing anything. I thought that was pretty clever. And then the end of the episode, the whole buildup to Sylvie being revealed is pretty cool with controlling people and then revealing herself to Loki is cool and kinda creepy way to do that kinda reveal. But Loki goes with her when she disappears. And this leads to a pretty cool third episode when both of them appear on some planet in some random timeline that's about to be destroyed by a moon crashing into it. And we get some interesting moments here with them talking and it helps flesh both characters out. We even learn more about the TVA, about how the people working there are people the TVA just took and erased their memories and had them work there forever. And the ending to the episode is surprising as well when we see Loki and Sylvie trying to get off the planet on a ship but then it destroyed and that's it. It leaves ya wondering what's gonna happen next. And, on the whole Loki and Sylvie relationship, it was obvious they were setting up a romance for the two of them, but, I personally didn't like it. I know the kinda weirdness of them being the same person might have been intentional, but I still personally didn't like it. But then, in the next episode, the TVA shows up and gets them out with Mobius annoyed that he ran off but Loki tries to tell him the TVA is a lie. And it's cool when we see Sif again. I didn't expect her to show up again, but it was cool when she did. And then we see Mobius thinking about when Loki told him the truth about the TVA and learning more about what he was talking about and even learns that one of the officers was someone with their memories erased and even that officer begins to question things too when Sylvie showed her her memories of her previous life. And this is all building to something. And I like how you can tell Ravonna is behind something. Ravonna being the one in charge of the TVA behind the Time Keepers, assumedly. And this fourth episode did have a lot of other cool and sad moments like when it looks like Mobius gets killed or pruned in this case. And there's a cool scene where it looks like Loki and Sylvie are taken to the Time Keepers but then B-15, the officer that Sylvie showed her past memories to, helps them and it's revealed that the Time Keepers are just robots and then Ravonna prunes Loki. All this was just making me more and more curious to know what was really going on because we were just getting one question after another with this episode. But then the end credit scene of this episode has Loki waking up somewhere with some variants of himself like a kid, an alligator, an old man and some Viking looking guy. And then episode 5 was probably my favourite episode. It was just absolute insanity and I loved it. Loki is talking to the other Loki variants while on the run from some cloud monster called Alioth and then they hide out somewhere while Sylvie prunes herself to get to where they are because her and Ravonna find out that getting pruned just teleports you somewhere at the end of time. And it made for a lot of cool Easter Eggs. But my favourite part of the episode is when that President Loki arrives with some army of other Loki's and they all betray each other as like a comedic depiction of how Loki is just always betraying poeple. Bt the funniest part is when alligator Loki eats his hand.

It's so insane and bonkers that I just couldn't stop laughing afterwards. But then Sylvie arrives and meets up with Mobius and the whole team up thing with them trying to take on this Alioth thing is cool and I liked the pat at the end with Loki saying goodbye to Mobius as he's going back to the TVA. That was a sweet moment. But then the end of the episode shows Loki and Sylvie going through a portal showing some huge temple thing. And all of this was making me insanely excited for the ending because the whole show was building up that someone was behind everything and this was showing that the last episode was gonna reveal it. It was also cool that Ravonna didn't know what was going on. And so you can very easily assume how excited I was for the ending of the show. And, yeah, I couldn't contain my excitement for it. And so, did the ending deliver? Mostly, yeah, it did. I did have problems, but especially with what happens at the very end, it made me super, super, super excited for the future of the M.C.U. And the opening was cool with it reveal that the place they were at was at the end of time. Also, for the last episode, a friend of mine and I assumed that maybe it was gonna reveal that the final villain was maybe gonna be Kang. And, we were right. It's revealed that the ultimate antagonist is Kang The Conqueror. I went nuts when I saw that because I remember hearing they had cast someone for the role of Kang for Ant-Man: Quantumania and as soon as I saw him, I remembered it was him. And, yeah, it was Jonathan Majors as Kang in this episode and I was so excited. However, I'm not gonna lie, I personally didn't like this depiction of Kang. I do think Jonathan Major did a good job with what he was told to do, but I personally didn't like how crazy they made his character. They made him out as an insane cool guy who acts over the top for whatever reason. I guess I do kinda get it, but I personally didn't like how they made him like this. I will say though, the things he was saying was interesting with him being one of many Kangs and he's protecting the timeline from the other variants of himself from starting another war and it made it interesting when all of that was happening. It's more just kinda the way they had him act that I didn't like. But then we have a moment where Loki and Sylvie fight because Sylvie wants revenge for all the suffering she's been through by killing Kang and Loki feels like killing would do something to the timeline. This part was a little weird to me. Not the character stuff, more just the fighting and editing. It felt a little off to me just the way it was shot. But then it ends with Sylvie kissing Loki then sending him back to the TVA. Still not a fan of their romance so that felt kinda weird too. but, either way, she kills Kang which causes the timeline to go chaotic. Not only that, but at the TVA, Mobius and B-15 don't remember Loki and he sees some statue of Kang. So, that just left me completely baffled. I couldn't believe all of that because it was just insane and there was so many things and possibilities happening that I could barely contain everything that was happening. But this just made me think of a whole bunch of things because now this means a whole bunch of Kang's will probably be appearing in the future of the M.C.U. Not only that but it also made me think that this make sense for other M.C.U movies, mainly Doctor Strange: Into The Multiverse Of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home. Now it makes sense why it's called Into The Multiverse Of Madness and why some people are theorising of the other Spider-Men from the other movies crossing over in that movie. And it just made me think of how the other Kang variants could be popping up in other movies. We already know he's gonna be in Quantumania and he could be in a lot of these other movies too. And I hope they make him the way he should be like in the comics and not the way he was in this last episode. The ending also gave me hope for the Fantastic Four and the X-Men. Overall, this show's ending just left me thinking for a long time and now I'm super, super hyped for the future M.C.U projects. And, yeah, overall, this show was really great. I didn't necessarily like everything in it with the ending being slightly disappointing, but what this opened up for the future of the series made me so incredibly hyped. And everything behind the scenes was great. All the acting was fantastic. I loved the Loki/Mobius dynamic. It was super fun and made me really glad whenever they were in a scene together. It also did great with character arcs. Like having the Loki we know and giving him the same arc as the one from Ragnarok, but in a more interesting way I found. I also loved the mystery aspect to it. It didn't exactly deliver perfect, but I was still glad it was Kang at the end and all the buildup to it was really exciting. I also loved a lot of the cinematography and effects. They looked cool and creative. And, again, I was super excited by the end when we see what the ending did for the future of the M.C.U and I can't wait for whatever comes out next. Overall, I really, really liked this show and you should definitely check it out. And so, everyone, that's my review for Loki: Season 1. Dragon Ball (Anime Review)

All right, so, guys, going back to my new anime review series is the original series in the Dragon Ball franchise, Dragon Ball. This is honestly a really interesting one for me because it's my newest Dragon Ball review despite this being the first Dragon Ball anime ever done. But it's also interesting because I only started watching this series late last year and so I'm glad this mean I've watched every single canon Dragon Ball series. But, yeah, I'm really glad I was able to get this and watch it. I actually did start watching the first couple of episodes a early last year and, for some reason, I didn't get into it. I don't know why but something about it then didn't really click with me, but then, around November last year, I got all the DVDs for the series and I ended up liking it a whole lot more. It's really interesting that this is the series that started the entire franchise, but there's a good reason for this, this is a really, really fun show. And it's cool to think that this series, as well as the manga that Toriyama was doing at the time, started in the 80's. It's just super cool this was the introduction to so many things in this franchise like this world, these characters, this story and everything else. So, as we all know, the story of this series is that we're shown Goku as a small boy who's still living by himself in the woods when one day he meet Bulma who's out looking for all the Dragon Balls. And, after they befriend each other and decide to look for the Dragon Balls together, they travel around the world to find them while also meeting tons of new people along the way. So, immediately, the thing I liked the most about this was the fun adventure, quest aspect to this show. It's a very fun and funny adventure show. And, comedy is a big aspect to the series as well. The whole first part of this show is mostly focused on comedy with some action here and there. And it's a really fun adventure. It's also just fun to travel around with these characters and see how they interact. And yeah, it's also just really, really funny. Just seeing Goku alone and seeing the way he is as a kid is really funny. I will say though, probably my least favourite part of the series was the first part when Goku and Bulma were traveling the first time. It did have some fun moments. And I can only imagine what this must have been like back in the day when this was first debuting. But, for me, I don't think the series really gets going until the point where Goku meets Master Roshi again and begins training with him with Krillin. It's also interesting to see where their friendship began with Krillin hating Goku at first and then developing a friendship with him. And I love everything with this part. Toriyama did a great job with making the rest of the series very action focused and having Goku and Krillin take part in the World Martial Arts Tournament. I love the whole section with them in the tournament. This is such a fun part. Especially since this is where Goku and Krillin first get their orange gi's with the Kami symbols that have now become super iconic. And all the fights are really fun and I love how it doesn't end with Goku winning. I know Toriyama wanted to make it so Goku wouldn't win in the end to make it more interesting and he did a great job. And the whole fight between Goku and Master Roshi is also great. It also has a super funny end with all of them in a restaurant.

And then I like how Goku then goes off with the others for a while to find the Dragon Balls again and then he goes off by himself. And there's a lot of fun parts in this too like Goku fighting the Red Ribbon Army. I mentioned before about how I think this section of the story is pretty underrated and I still think that. The whole Red Ribbon Army story arc is a really fun part of series with Goku going around trying to find the Dragon Balls and meeting new friends around the world and then fighting a bunch of different members of the Red Ribbon Army. A lot of these scenes and fight sequences are awesome and it's cool that around this point is where the show started to shift into an action focused show and less on comedy even if it did still have some comedy here and there. It was also cool when we saw were watching Goku go to various places to find the Dragon Balls. Like I said before, I like when he goes to some snow place and meets a girl named Suno. And, again, like I said in a previous entry, I really like the journey Goku goes on here with invading the Muscle Tower segment where he fights more red Ribbon Army soldiers and finds Eighter who he befriends. It's a fun part and I like the rest of it as well like Goku going back to have the Dragon Radar fixed and that leads to him meeting Upa and his dad as well as fighting General Tao. It's also great when Goku is able to climb Karin Tower and meets Korin to help make himself stronger. Again, I know I'm just going through the story but I just think Toriyama just did such a great job with this original series. In fact, I personally think Toriyama did a better job with this shows story at time than Dragon Ball Z because you can tell this series was more focused on the story whereas Dragon Ball Z was more focused on the action. Although, its story isn't perfect in my opinion. There are times where it can be a bit boring and some parts in the story sometimes feel pointless. The biggest example I can think of is when Goku, Krillin and Bulma go to some underwater cave and I didn't like this part at all because it felt like a waste of time a bit. I know it does technically play a part in the story, but it felt like a drag sometimes. Anyway, the next part is pretty good too with Goku and the others fighting in Baba's tournament to get information from her but then Goku meets his Grandpa Gohan, which is a pretty nice scene.

But then we get to the second World Martial Arts Tournament, which is, again, really good. I espeiclaly like the Goku vs. Krillin and Goku vs Tien fight. I also love Tien's arc here where he starts as a jerk who hates everyone because of his master, Shen. But then he slowly begins to grow and become more likeable and it's pretty satisfying when Master Roshi uses the Kamehameha against Shen. But then Goku loses again and it was nice to see that happen again. But then the series just keeps going with the Demon King Piccolo Saga with Krillin being killed.

And I like a lot of things that happen with this with everyone trying to fight Demon King Piccolo which leads to more characters like Master Roshi and Chiaotzu being killed and Goku getting stronger and eventually beating him. And I love everything that happens in the aftermath with Goku going to Kami's Lookout and using his Power Pole to get there along with Kami using the Dragon Balls to bring everyone back. Just a lot of great story ideas like that are what I love this series for. And then the final arc of the series, the Piccolo Jr. Saga, is yet another really good arc. I like how it opens with everyone reuniting after three years and it's a great scene to watch.

And all the fights in this tournament range from cool to funny and it's another really great tournament. Toriyama always does a great job with the tournaments in the original series. But the best part in this tournament and maybe the best part in this entire original show is Goku's fight against Piccolo. It's pretty brutal for the Dragon Ball series and has a satisfying ending with Goku beating him. And it's cool how this all led to Dragon Ball Z and we all know just how absolutely iconic that is. But, overall, I like how this series was more grounded by comparison and is just the series we have to thank for introducing us to this entire franchise. And, really, I just really had a great time with this series. Yes, there are some bad things, including some filler that got really annoying sometimes, but the overall adventure aspect to this show is a lot of fun and I like how this series set the groundwork for every action manga that would come afterwards along with Dragon Ball Z. And really, I think this series is kinda underrated, especially the Red Ribbon Army Saga. I also find it strange how there's not really many references to this series in later parts of the franchise, especially since there's tons to Z, but not this so much. But I think there's a lot of really enjoyable things here. It's also nice to watch to see where a lot these characters started, especially Goku and just seeing how he's changed ever since the beginning. I also noticed that it felt weird when I was starting and having a Dragon Ball series that didn't have any Super Saiyans or Vegeta or anything like that, but it's nice that I could watch and enjoy this without those things. So, yeah, I really liked this show. It's really fun and is a good time in my opinion. If you've watched the Dragon Ball series before and not seen this yet, I'd say you should. Black Widow

So, everyone, after two years, we've finally gotten a new Marvel film, Black Widow. And this is one I was really excited about because I've loved Natasha in the M.C.U movies and Scarlett Johansson has always been fantastic as this character. Not to mention the fact that a lot of people have wanted to see a solo Black Widow movie for a while and now we've finally gotten one. It was also nice for me to be able to see a movie in the cinemas again after a year. So, all this was making me so excited to see the film. And, in the end, I ended up feeling somewhat slightly middle of the road with this film, but I still liked it. I did have a good time with this film but it's not perfect. But I think I'm more positive with this film. Also, like always, I'll be doing a spoiler-free section first and then go into all the spoilers afterwards. So, what's the story? It's set after Civil War with Natasha still on the run after helping Cap get away. And while in hiding she's confronted by someone named Taskmaster who seems to be after her for some reason. After this, she tries to find her sister and some others to get some answers and stop something called the Red Room, which is where she was trained to be an assassin. And I'll stop there. So, what I liked the most about this was the fact that it did have a lot of interesting ideas. There's a lot of details in this plot that intrigued me, especially in regards to seeing Natasha's past, which is the first time we're actually seeing this, so it was interesting. Not to mention the fact that the cast is of course phenomenal with Scarlett Johannsson once again doing a fantastic job as Natasha, but the rest are great to, especially Florence Pugh as Natasha's sister. I also liked the adventure side to this. We see Natasha going through different things like dealing with her past and dealing with current problems and I liked that. It was also nice when we see a lot of these characters just being people. Like there's a scene where Natasha is with her sister and some other people in a house and it was interesting seeing these characters work off each other like that. There's a lot of moments like that in here and it was nice to see. It was also interesting seeing the contrasts between these characters. And that whole house scene did have some pretty emotional moments in regards to showing more of their pasts and I thought it was pretty powerful. The film's also really funny, there's a lot of very hilarious moments in this that made me laugh, especially one scene inside a helicopter, and the action is mostly mostly pretty good. I say mostly so keep that in mind. But there are some cool action scenes here, especially at the end and there's some cool shots in this too. There are also some twists in this that I didn't see coming and, while I didn't think all of them were good, some actually are pretty cool. And I will say that the ending did make me really excited for a future M.C.U project. Overall, I did have a good time with the film, but there are also some problems I had that I'm gonna talk about now. For starters, some of the scenes in the film did kinda feel kinda pointless and due to those scenes, it did kinda make film feel pointless as a whole because there's not much to this that make it feel like it's super important to the M.C.U. It is a fun film, but nothing in this really felt like it was necessary for the other films in the M.C.U. It's nice to see what happened to Natasha after Civil War and it's cool to see part of her backstory, but the story for this did kinda feel somewhat pointless in that regard because it doesn't have much of an impact to the other films. Some of the editing was also weirdly noticeable sometimes. There were some scenes where the editing made it feel a bit choppy. And the editing also made some of the action scenes feel off as well. Like I said, some of the action was kinda underwhelming and a lot of that had to do with the editing in those scenes not being the best at points so it just left me a bit of an empty feeling with the action because Natasha's one of the best martial artists in the Marvel universe, so it just felt like they didn't use the opportunity all that well. Like I said, there are some twists in this and some aren't very good. The biggest one I can think of without spoiling anything involves the villain. I won't say anything else, but I did find annoying when we're revealed something towards the end of the film. Actually, two things, there's another twist that's really bizarre. I also wasn't a fan of just the villains themselves, they felt kinda generic and boring sometimes. So, overall, I did have a really good time with this film. It's another really good M.C.U movie but it's not one of the better ones. I am really glad we finally got a Black Widow movie and it was mostly really entertaining and it's sad that this is the last time we'll ever see Scarlett Johansson in the M.C.U. As far as where I'd rank it in the other Marvel films, I'd probably put it just above Captain America: The First Avenger and just slightly below Doctor Strange. Okay, so the first big spoiler I can think of is when it revealed that Taskmaster is actually the daughter of this Dreykov guy who's the real villain of the movie that Natasha thought she killed a lot time ago. I guess it was nice to see Natasha have sympathies for her and by the end when she saves her, it's nice, but I personally really didn't like how they made Taskmaster into some puppet character for someone else. It also kinda reminded me of what they did with Ghost in Ant-Man And The Wasp where it's some male villain made into a female character for the movie. And I really didn't like what they did with that character here. I will say her action scenes were cool and it was nice when Natasha saved her at the end as well as all the Widows, but I didn't like how they made Taskmaster into something else entirely. And another thing that I thought was pretty bad was the twist that Natasha couldn't hurt Dreykov because of some particles in her nose. It's so weird and kinda nonsensical that it just came across as silly to me and then she stops it by slamming her head into the desk to sever the nerve where the particles are. That was just a really weird moment. Another kinda big spoiler is that I didn't expect Ross in this, but it does make sense he would be in the beginning looking for Natasha after Civil War and it was cool. Also, probably my favourite action scene was during the middle with the car chase with Natasha and her sister on the run from Taskmaster and the other Widows. And we can also talk about that. I thought the whole concept of all the Widows was interesting with having all these brainwashed women Dreykov has been using and that did lead to a cool fight with all of them when Natasha had to fight them all. Speaking of Dreykov, he's the villain who I thought was kinda boring. He was just some guy wanted to conquer the world with the Widows. And while he was well acted, I didn't find him interesting at all. It was funny though when we saw Natasha's sister making fun of her poses. That was really funny. I did also like how they were able to help all the Widows at the end it was pretty satisfying when Dreykov died after what he said about Natasha's mom, plus, again that scene at the house was nice with Natasha, her sister, Alexie and that woman talking. It was also cool when we see Natasha and that woman change places like what happened in The Winter Soldier. And then the ending when we see Nat with the look she had in Infinity War was a pretty cool tie-in to that film and the same goes for when she said she was gonna break some of the other Avengers out of the Raft. And then the end credit scene, I like how it takes place after Endgame with Natasha's sister visiting her grave and then we see Madam Hydra. She was in The Falcon And The Winter Soldier and I was told it was supposed to be a surprise when she showed up there because this was supposed to come out first but then the pandemic happened and so it was surprising to see her here. And then she tells her sister that Clint was responsible for Natasha's death and so she's gonna be going after him now. So I guess that means we'll be seeing her in the Hawkeye show coming soon. So, yeah, that was all cool and really exciting. And I think the thing that made me most excited was seeing different setups for other things. And yeah, overall, I think that's everything. My Killua Zoldyck collectible (Review)

So, about two or three weeks ago, I finally got my collectible for Killua. I was especially super excited to be getting this one, mainly because Killua is still my absolute favourite character in all of Hunter x Hunter, and I wanted to hold off until now to post it on here because, for one, I kinda forgot, but when I remembered, I wanted to wait until now because today is actually Killua's birthday, so it seemed like a cool to wait until now. Also, this is in he same series as the Gon figure I got. I'm still waiting for some other collectibles to arrives, especially some I ordered recently. It's just really cool to have collectibles of both Gon and Killua seeing as they're my favourite pair of best friends in anime. Anyway, here it is and I hope you all like this.

Attack On Titan (Anime Review)

So, now for my anime reviews, we move onto one of the most popular anime's of the 2010's, Attack On Titan. I only got into this series almost two months ago and I'm already well caught up with the series. I've seen the first three seasons and I'm waiting for the fourth season to end. I heard it's on hiatus at the moment, so I'm hoping it'll be finished soon at some point. Not only that, but I've also been collecting the mangas as well as I currently have up to volume 15 at the moment. I'd been hearing about the show's extreme popularity for a long time and even my sister really likes it, so I decided I wanted to get into it myself and see what all the hype was about. And, so far, form what I'm seeing, this is a really, really good show. I've been hearing lately that the fourth season is kinda disappointing, but so far, everything I've seen has been really excellent, and that's a credit to the person who created the manga itself, Hajime Isayama. Also, like always, this will have all the spoilers for the first three seasons, so keep that in mind. Anyway, the plot of this series is that it's set in a world where there are these giant monsters called Titans who do nothing but hunt for people and eat them. So, humanity is mostly inside a gigantic walled town for their protection while there are people inside called the Survey Corps that try to kill Titans. And, one day, a ginormous titan called the Colossal Titan and another one called the Armored Titan break through the wall which causes a bunch of people to get killed. One of which is the mother of a boy named Eren Yeager who, after seeing his mother get killed, vows to kill every single Titan. Years later, he and his friends, Mikasa and Armin join the Survey Corp along with other characters to kill all the Titans, but, along the way, they discover different twists and learn more about the world. Again, I'm gonna stop there for the story. So, clearly, you would think that the main reason everyone really gets into this series is because of the fights against the Titans, and that is definitely a big reason, but there's a whole lot more to it than that. In fact, there's a whole lot more I didn't even expect when I started. So, the first season, in my opinion, does a really good job of setting up this world. We understand that this is a cruel world with it feeling like it's not safe anywhere and they do a great job with that. And Isayama's writing it really good so that we understand a lot of these characters' motivations. And, I love how not only is there danger with whole Titan aspect, but there's also some problems inside the walls with some things feeling wrong and people doing horrible and selfish things and not caring for others. But, beyond that, the actual action scenes are absolutely incredible. This was done by WIT Studio, who have done an incredible job with these scenes. My favourite kind of action scene is when they're zipping around with their ODM Gear and slicing through Titans. Those scenes are so cool. Also, this show is R rated and it's extremely brutal. There are some really horrifying things to see in this. Obviously with the whole Titan eating people, but even just other things and the way these characters gets killed is extremely disturbing. However, what makes the story even more interesting is when we learn about the fact that some humans can become Titans like Eren. We learn how later on, but it's awesome when we see these things because it's so cool. And a lot of these characters are really cool too. Personally, my favourite character is Levi, this captain who's really broody a lot of the time and can act really cold a lot but you can tell he cares for everyone and he's so awesome in the action scenes. And my second favourite is probably Erwin, who's a commander in the Survey Corp and is really awesome and really likeable too. And, we keep learning more an more and getting more battles all leading up to an incredible final battle for this season when Eren fights Annie, this Survey Corp member who can also become a Titan and is one of the ones trying to get everyone killed. It's an incredible action scene and really exciting. And then we learn a bit more like when we see that some Titans are actually built inside the walls and it was being kept a secret and the series has some really hateable characters who are doing horrible things or not telling people what they're doing and putting everyone in danger just for their own benefit. And the ending of this season does leave a great setup for the next season. Although, I will say though, I do have some problems with the series and I'll get them out the way first. For starters, some of the characters can sometimes feel kinda generic or boring. The biggest example I can think of in terms of who's kinda generic is Eren himself because sometimes he just seems like a guy who's had a hard life and kinda hates everything. It's not that exactly, but it's close enough and sometimes, that did feel a bit repetitive. He does still have cool moments, but I couldn't not feel that way when watching him sometimes. The other one who sorta felt a little annoying at points was Mikasa, Eren's friend. Mostly because she has an extreme obsession with him with really wanting to protect him at all times and just thinking of him. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense and can get kinda annoying at point. But that's not to say she's a bad character. She still has a lot of incredible moments and is one of the best members of the Survey Corp. And, a lot of the other characters are great too like Armin, Historia, Hange, Reiner, Bertholdt. It's really cool just watching these characters doing what their doing and they all work off each other really well. Plus, like I said, Levi and Erwin ae my two favourite characters in the show and I like their connection with each other. Plus, I like when the main characters get involved in something important like when Eren has to use his Titan form to plug up a hole in the wall with a giant boulder and everyone has to help him. Anyway, the second season is where some of the most iconic scenes in the show happen. The first big thing is that we're introduced to the Beast Titan, this huge furry Titan who can talk and is causing a lot of damage. And we get more of selfish characters doing horrible things like when Levi and Hange interrogate one guy who's keeping the identity of the real royal family and they're trying to find out the truth. And, honestly, the best part of this entire season is my opinion is the reveal of the Colossal and Armored Titans being Reiner and Bertholdt.

And considering they were some of the most likeable characters in the series, it just makes this reveal all the sadder. I already knew this from being told about it before and seeing this clip a few times, but still. And this leads to an awesome fight between Eren and them when he transforms as well. And we get an incredible sequence where all of them and more go after them which leads to Erwin losing his arm and Hannes being killed and we learn that Eren has some power to control Titans in a way when he gets upset from seeing this. It's just really awesome. It's also cool when they begin to think of a plan to expose the fake royals because the royals aren't the real ones, just people who're using the power for their own gain and it's evidenced even more when we see that the other members of the guards are doing horrible things as well like selling weapons to others or not caring for the safety of others. And then we come to Season 3, which might have the best moments in the series in my opinion. It starts off with Levi and some of the others like Mikasa, Armin and Hange hiding from the royals and the guards with them knowing the truth and now trying to expose them. All while Eren has been captured and Historia meets her dad who's trying to persuade her to become a Titan and eat Eren to absorb his power. Not only that, but we also get Levi's backstory with a guy named Kenny who's part of some other group trying to kill them. And there's a lot of things to like here like actually seeing Levi's past and seeing them devise a plan to expose the government. That whole part actually reminds me a lot Fullmetal Alchemist with the government being corrupted and the main characters being in hiding from them and trying to expose. And this series does that really well. And, again, I just love it when we get more information and things happen. I'd say my favourite segment of this season is when Eren and the others go to Wall Maria to try to recapture it and they find Reiner, Bertholdt and the Beast Titan there and we get an awesome fight been Eren and Reiner again. It's all cool and really sad at the end when Erwin dies. Like I said, he's one of the best characters in my opinion and him dying was really tragic. But it helped pave the way to an incredible moment where Levi goes up against the Beast Titan who's revealed to be a guy. And this moment helps show that I think this season has the most satisfying moments in the entire series and, honestly, some of the most satisfying anime moments I've seen in a while, like Historia defying her father or when the royals are exposed or when we see Levi fight the Beast Titan or when Armin is eventually turned into a Titan and eats Bertholdt and gains his powers. There's just so many amazing moments like that and more in this season alone and even more that we're about to get into. Something else they do in this season is they get to Eren's old house and go to the cellar because they've been building up that there's something there throughout the whole series and they finally get there with being told that from Eren because apparently his dad once told him. And then we learn even more information like we see the backstory of Eren's dad who is actually from an island away from where they are and grew up in a place with two areas and it was illegal to go to the second area but him and his sister went there when they were kids which caused his sister to be killed. And we learn other things as well like the other terrible people who treat others horribly and we get another hateable character with some officer who kills his sister as well as turns his wife into a Titan years later. And another super satisfying moment is when we see a person named Owl save Eren's dad by pushing the officer off the wall and then he gets eaten by a Titan, just another one of those super satisfying moments in this season. Though probably the most surprising part of this flashback is when we learn that the Titan who ate Eren's mom is actually Eren's dad's first wife. I didn't expect to see anything like that in here. It's also in the flashback that we learn that the Beast Titan is a guy name Zeke and it's interesting thinking back to when Levi fought it and it makes it satisfying when he fights him, but also frustrating when he gets away with Reiner. And, something else I shoulda mentioned before is that we learn how Eren has his powers. It's because of some injection his dad gave him many years ago. And, by the end of the series when they finally get to the sea, which is what Armin has talking about the whole time since no one in the wall has ever seen it. It's a really nice way to end the season and it's another cool setup for the next season because Eren knows about how across the sea is the island where his dad came from and that's where a lot of the main bad guys are. It's a really cool season finale, and that's really everything I've seen so far. I know I clearly didn't cover everything, but I think I said most of what I wanted to say. So, yeah, I'm sure I don't need to say this, but this is a really awesome show. These first three seasons have some really fantastic writing, incredible action scenes, some really awesome characters and is just a really cool show overall. The English cast is incredible as well, especially Bryce Papenbrook as Eren and Matt Mercer as Levi. There are some problems I have and some things aren't that interesting, but the majority of this stuff is phenomenal. I'm really glad with what I'm watching and I'm really excited to get the rest of the volumes and watch the series finale when it finishes. So, yeah, as always, I would recommend this if you're interested. Though I may not have to recommend it given the show's huge popularity, though I would be wary of how unpleasant some of the stuff is. So, yeah, everyone, that's my review for Attack On Titan. Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's (Anime Review)

And, now, we move onto the third Yu-Gi-Oh! series and the only other one I've seen besides the original and GX, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. And, unlike every other anime I've seen where I may have heard a lot or a few things about them before I saw them, I knew absolutely nothing about this one, not one thing. I didn't know anything about the story, the setting, the characters, nothing. And so, it was really nice to go into this and not know what to expect. And, the reason I wanted to watch this was, not only because it's another Yu-Gi-Oh! series, but also because I really wanted to watch the Bonds Beyond Time movie which was a crossover between this and the original series and GX. In fact, I really wasn't expecting anything from this. I went in watching it just to watch it and that's it. And, in the end, I think thought about this the same way I did about GX in that I really, really liked it. In fact, when I finished watching it, I just loved it. There was so much about it that I really loved. Yes, there were some things that I didn't like, but my reaction was mostly really positive with this. And when I say it was the same as GX for me, I mean the same as what I said before about not really sure about what people's general thoughts are about it, but I still enjoyed it. Also, another similarity I have for this with GX is the fact that I haven't seen the whole thing since the same thing happened with this as Season 4 of GX in that the final season was never dubbed so I haven't seen it even though I really wish it did finish. Anyway, let's get to the series. Also, like before, this will have all spoilers, so keep that in mind. So, the story is about a guy named Yusei Fudo who lives in this place called the Satellite which is this kinda destroyed junk island and is next to an island with a city called New Domino City and anyone from the Satellite is usually treated poorly by anyone there. And Yusei is usually on the run from security who think he's a criminal. So he spends most of his time working with some friends there trying to make a Runner, which is like a motorbike-like thing that a person can drive and play Duel Monsters on. He's also had a sad history with never knowing his parents and two of his friends betray him, especially Jack Atlas who stole his last Runner and best card just so he could go to New Domino City and become famous. So, after he finally makes a new Runner and heads to New Domino City, he discovers he, alongside Jack and some other characters, are actually Signers, which basically gives them marks on their arms of a creature called the Crimson Dragon, a dragon from a long time ago. And, I'm stopping there as far as telling the story like this. So, as soon as I started, the first few episodes didn't interest me that much. It was kinda interesting to learn about these characters' pasts and what exactly is happening, but the first few episodes did feel kinda like a slug to me and sometimes there some annoying moments. However, I think the series really gets going after the whole facility segment, which is basically this prison and Yusei is thrown into it after being caught by security. As soon as that happens, he's approached by a man named Goodwin, who's pretty much the main villain of the first season and is the one who explains to Yusei about the history of the Crimson Dragon and about how it's a creature that sealed away some evil a long time ago and a part of its power is now inside him, Jack and some others. One of those others being a small girl named Luna who has a twin brother named Leo. And I really like the relationship Yusei builds with the two of them. Kinda being like a big brother to them that they both look up to. Luna also has some power where she can enter something called the Spirit World with the spirits of duel monsters. This part actually reminded me a lot of The Legend Of Korra with a whole Spirit World idea. Anyway, the fourth Signer is another girl Yusei's age named Akiza, who has telekinetic abilities and is part of a group called the Arcadia Movement. And, this part of the series is probably the part I liked the most. Seeing these characters interacting and forming relationships. Every characters builds some relationship with each other and that's the part about it I liked the most, especially since I liked almost all the characters. It was also interesting seeing some of their pasts like Akiza being this girl who had these powers her whole life and couldn't control them which caused everyone around her to shun her and even her own parents being afraid of her and so she decided to join the Acadia Movement so she would belong somewhere. And, again, the duels themselves are pretty cool, but the actual character moments of everyone pushing the plot forward was the part that entertained me the most and seeing how everyone formed relationships with each other. It's also pretty satisfying when some characters turn good in this like when Jack agrees to help Yusei and the others and be a good guy again. Not just him, but also Trudge, who's the main officer who was after Yusei for a while until they agree to team up and it's cool when he becomes a good guy too. And eventually, we learn more about this whole story like how Yusei's father was actually a scientist who created something called the Ener-D Reactor that caused a lot of damage to the city and his death with having to send Yusei to the Satellite for his own safety and it's later revealed that he was sabotaged. And we learn other things like the existence of Dark Signers who feed on fear and doubt to make themselves stronger. It's even later revealed that one of them is a guy that Yusei and Jack knew named Kalin. I haven't mentioned this yet, but there's another guy named Crow who's Yusei's best friend and also knew Kalin. And, again, we get more and more information and more duels with them trying to stop the Dark Signers and even Goodwin's brother who they think is the main bad guy until it's revealed that Goodwin himself is the main villain who has the arm of the fifth and last Signer and challenges Yusei, Jack and Crow to a duel. Eventually, they're able to beat him, but something really weird happens afterwards. He kinda sees Goodwin and his brother kinda make amends with Yusei in what looks like head or something. I dunno, the whole flip between the two of them kinda confused me because they would both say the other one was the villain and they'd act kinda evil and so it was really confusing whenever that aspect was mentioned. And then, by the end, everyone who was absorbed by the Dark Signers, or anyone who was being controlled by them is back to normal and Yusei, Jack and Crow manage to build a bridge connecting New Domino City to the Satellite. So, the first season of this for me was mostly positive even if some things didn't work for me. For one, there was that stuff I mentioned about how it would sometimes get weird with how the bad guy kinda switched between Goodwin and his brother as well as the fact that some characters were a bit annoying like Leo. He was mostly pretty solid, but he did get really annoying sometimes. Something else that was weird was when some characters would disappear form the story all together like Yusei's friends from the Satellite who helped him build his second Runner at the beginning of the first episode. They kinda vanish really quickly, which is weird considering their actions did lead to a lot of events that happened. But, again, like I said, the main thing I liked about this was the relationships that form between the characters. Probably the one I liked the most was Yusei's relationship with Akiza because she kinda becomes a love interest for him and I really liked a lot of their scenes together. Plus, the actual story itself with us learning more about the past and learning about Yusei's upbringing and other different things like that kept me wanting more when I was first watching this. I also found it interested how they made Duel Monsters different this time with adding in different elements. Not just the whole Runner idea with these motorcycles, but also different rules they introduced. As for the second season, I mostly feel about it the same way I did the first, although not as much because I didn't find it as interesting as the first, but there is still a lot I liked. For one, I found it cool how at the beginning, we're introduced to these three kinda alien guys while Yusei and the others are working for the Dueling Tournament coming up. And the stuff here is mostly pretty interesting, although some things weren't as interesting as others. I liked the inclusion of Bruno, this guy who's been mind controlled to be around Yusei and he begins to grow a friendship with him. And I still liked the relationships between everyone else, especially, again, the whole Yusei and Akiza one. But it's still nice to see Yusei being a big brother figure to Leo and Luna. However, unlike the first season where it didn't feel like there was any or much filler and was able to tell its story well, this season did have a few episodes like that. The biggest example I can think of is when Yusei goes to this western like town to find Kalin who's a good guy now and is trying to make amends for all the things he did. There are some interesting things here, but most of it did feel kinda pointless and too long. But this did all lead up to when Yusei and the others enter the tournament and are able to beat them along with some other team they were competing against called Team Ragnarok. And it was cool, though, maybe not as interesting as season 1. Also, another kinda weird thing is that there's some strange storylines that honestly didn't need to be in this season because there's some that could have been removed and not felt much different. But that isn't a detriment to the series as a whole, I still really, really enjoyed it. So, yeah, overall, that's all I saw from the series. So, even though I haven't seen all of it, what I did see, I really liked it. Not knowing anything about the plot or characters definitely helped because it means I could start it and not know what to expect. And, for the most part, I had a really great time with the show. I really enjoyed it and, like what I said for GX, I'm really glad this is part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! series. And, not only that, I should have said this for GX too, but I'm glad this is also technically a Shonen Jump property. And, again, what kept me intrigued for the most part was the characters and how likeable they were and their interactions and relationships between each other. It was also nice that there weren't any references to the other shows before considering that means it didn't have to rely on it, though I do wish we could have gotten maybe one mention of Yugi in this, I think that would have been cool, especially if it came form Yusei. And I think the cast is also really fantastic, especially Gregory Abbey as Yusei himself and Erica Schroeder as Akiza. A big part of why I liked these characters were the actors and they all did really well. Again, like I've said a couple of times already, I'm not entirely sure if the reception to this is mostly positive, but I think it should get more attention. I really liked it and I am disappointed the dubbing didn't finish considering I was loving it so much. The only other Yu-Gi-Oh! series I might be starting soon is Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexel since it's on DVD here and I am curious to see it. So, yeah, again, if you're a fan of this franchise, I would suggest checking this out if you're interested. Yu-Gi-Oh! GX (Anime Review)

All right, so, continuing on with my new anime series reviews is my one for the second Yu-Gi-Oh! series, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. This is another Yu-Gi-Oh! series I remember a lot of from when I was younger. I didn't watch the whole thing, but I did watch pieces of it here and there and I remember some scenes I saw when I was younger even if I didn't understand it. The scenes I saw were just cool and so, two years ago, I started collecting the DVDs and I learned there was actually four seasons. I always thought there was just three. And I then learned that it was never dubbed. I mentioned this before about how the fourth season of this and the third season of 5D's were never dubbed for some reason and, as I said, it said it may have been due to some licensing problems. Whether or not that's true, I don't know, but that's the only thing I have to go on. But, as for those first three seasons I've seen, I really like them. Yeah, the Yu-Gi-Oh! series does get kinda weird and silly sometimes and this series does have a lot of those kinda episodes, but the actual plot for these shows always interests me and I usually find them really entertaining. And I'll be doing review for this series as well as 5D's since they're the only other ones I've seen besides the original. And so, this'll be the review for the second Yu-Gi-Oh! series after the original, GX. So, the plot of this series is that it focuses on a boy named Jaden Yuki who's hoping to attend Duel Academy, which is this literal academy that teaches everyone about Duel Monsters and all the workings of it. So, when he's accepted, he meets friends there like Syrus, Chumley, Alexis and Bastion and meets a rival named Chazz. And so, he goes through the year dueling and not doing that great in classes, but still being one of the best duelists in the school while a whole bunch of different situations happens. Also, I did with my Hunter x Hunter review, I'll be going through the story and giving my thoughts as I'm going. So, immediately, I will say, the series doesn't start off that great at the beginning. I mean, the set up with the Duel Academy is cool and I like the idea since it means it'll be different from the original. But, for the most part, a lot of the episodes are filler with just a few episodes giving some hints of what the real plot for Season 1 is. There are different instances that hint at what's gonna happen towards the end. For the most part, a lot of these episodes might be a bit pointless because there's not much to them. Not to mention the fact that a lot of them have really silly stories like the whole dueling monkey episode or the crazy guy who steals lunches. Yeah, it's pretty insane a lot of the time. But I do like the episodes that do have to do with the main plot. And the main plot of Season 1 is cool with having these three cards like the Egyptian Gods called the Sacred Beasts. Yeah, it's kinda weird no one makes that point of how they're exactly like the Egyptian Gods, but it's still a cool idea. And, like I said, some earlier episodes had hinted at some of the events that happen like when Alexis is talking about her brother Atticus being missing and then we find out what happens and then he becomes kinda like a main character. And, then, it's cool as it gets to the end because we see different things happen like Jaden having to duel against Professor Banner and then it's revealed the main villain of the season is the superintendent named Kagemaru. And it's pretty nuts when he duels too with being this old man in a tube and using some machine to play the duel. But, at some point, he's able to sorta regain his youth and use the Three Sacred Beasts. And then, when Jaden is able to beat him, it's really cool. And then, at the end of this season, it's cool when we see Jaden duel with Zane, as in Syrus's older brother, and it make sense that it would end in a draw considering we spent the whole season establishing just how great duelers they both are. But, yeah, that whole part is really nice to see, especially the end when they show their respect for each other. And, as for the rest of the season, I also like when we see different references to the previous series like the mentions of Yugi here and there like Jaden admitting Yugi's his hero. Just different moments like that are cool to see spread out throughout the series. So, yeah, the first season is definitely weird in some cases and has its really weird episodes, but in terms of the plot for what it's all leading towards by the end, I really like it. Then, for the secondseason, this one is also pretty much the same in the sense that I like a lot of stuff involving the main story but still has some weird moments here and there. For one, we learn more about things like Jaden talking to duel spirits which are basically the spirits of the duel monsters they have and there's a lot of cool moments with that. And we're also introduced to a guy named Aster who has a deck similar to Jaden's with his being the Destiny Hero cards. And we see this effect Jaden a little bit when he loses to Aster and sorta goes off by himself to kinda reevaluate himself. I really like this because it shows him maturing a bit and it helps make him more likeable and not like a joke all the time. But, not only that, we're also shown the villain of this season named Satorius who's kinda like Aster's guardian who's trying to corrupt the students of Duel Academy and turn this into slaves for his Society Of Light. And this is the part I meant at the beginning of this about this season having some weird moments because this whole plot about the Society can get kinda weird sometimes, especially after Chazz gets corrupted. But we also gets a lot of cool moments like when Jaden gets new cards called the Neo-Spacians who act as like guides for him with them being Duel Spirits he can talk to. And we also meet some other new characters in this season like Hassleberry who always acts like this soldier kinda person and he's really likeable when he befriends Jaden and the others. And, I suppose this might be a good time to talk about the characters themselves. As I said in my top 10 favourite characters for this series, I really like a lot of them and my favourite is still Jaden. Not just because he's really likeable and fun, but because he does show maturity through the series and the rest are the same as well. Some of them can get a little annoying sometimes, but they're mostly really likeable. And then, we move onto my absolute favourite part of this series and still a really underrated arc in all of anime in my opinion, Season 3, A.K.A, The Other Dimension Arc. I absolutely love this part of the series. Yes, it may have its weird moments as well, but, overall, I really, really love rewatching this. I know I've mentioned things about this arc a ton of times already before, but I want to try to explain things a bit more and talk about things I haven't spoken about before. First, I really like the set up with having new characters like Jesse, Jim, Axel and Adrian being introduced and the set up with Viper is interesting with him being a side villain who's doing the things he's doing to try to bring his adopted son back but is being used by Yubel. And, again, I know I've talked about Yubel a lot, but I still think she's a great villain and I love how she's presented and built up with knowing more about her. First we see her as kinda like a lump of flesh with eye in some tube and then she begins to possess people and then she appears for real after a while. I do kinda wish we saw her more in real body because we don't see her that much. But, anyway, I love a lot about this season like in the beginning when Jesse and the others arrive at Duel Academy and there's already something off with Viper having everyone wear some bands that causes their energy to be drained and sent into Yubel and I like how they begin to suspect that something's going on and they they try to stop him. Again, there's just something about the way this story is told that makes it so enjoyable to me. And then, at the end when they catch Viper, Yubel kills him and sends them all to some other dimension. And it just keeps getting better and better with them trying to survive in this new dimension while trying to find a way back and Yubel has taken over a student's body named Marcel. And, we gets more duels between monsters there and everyone turning into monsters called Duel Ghouls. We even see an appearance from Pegasus again. Again, it's cool to see crossovers from the previous series and it's cool to see Pegasus as a good guy. It's just cool to see these different events unfold the way they do and it's great to see these characters doing different things and I like when some of these characters team up like Jesse and Jim becoming part of the main group and Axel slowly doing the same. And, by the end, it's awesome to see Jaden and Jesse team up to fight Yubel in Marcel's body and then she finally reveals herself but then Jesse uses a new card called the Rainbow Dragon to get everyone except himself home. It's also great when we see Yubel's backstory with her being a card that Jaden owned and she thinks he betrayed him by sending her away. I also like how it's Chancellor Sheppard who tells us this. And we then see Jaden try to go back to that dimension to save Jesse because he had to stay behind for all of them to be sent back. And this part with Jaden and his friends in the dimension is mostly really good. I will say, the whole first part with all of them together does kinda go on a bit too long in my opinion, but it does help show that Jaden's changing and not for the best because he's becoming so focused on finding Jesse that he's kinda ignoring everyone else around him. And, not only that, but if you lose a duel in this dimension, you get sent to the stars as everyone says which is basically you die or just get sent to some other dimension, it's kinda confusing. Anyway, Jaden's friends begins to get set to the stars and Jaden is partly to blame for it. And this causes everyone left to lose faith in him and leave him which causes him incredible despair and this leads to him becoming The Supreme King, which is basically this other personality inside him. And, I gotta say, it's interesting seeing Jaden as a villain for a while. It's not actually him, but The Supreme King in control of his body and he just begins to kill a bunch of people until Jim and Axel try to stop him. Jim gets set and Axel does manage to beat him but at the cost of his life as well. And so the last few episodes are Jaden, Syrus, Ojama Yellow and Crowler trying to find Jesse and stop Yubel. And, I especially love watching these last few episodes with Adrian fighting Yubel and losing but then Jaden fights her and frees Jesse from Yubel's control but then they fight again. I will say, while the duels themselves are definitely entertaining, a few times, they're not as interesting as the actual character stuff. I mostly like just watching these characters interacting stuff like that. But they're still fine and the final duel between Jaden and Yubel is really cool, especially when we see Yubel herself transform into Yubel: The Ultimate Nightmare. And then we see a backstory for Jaden and Yubel in that they're both reincarnated version of a prince and guardian from a long time ago. Yeah, it's pretty insane, and kinda weird that it's kinda thrown in at the last second in the last episode, but I still think it's pretty cool. And then Jaden kinda sacrifices himself to fuse his spirit with Yubel's. It's a little confusing as to what happens after this because the two of them then disappear and everyone who was sent to the stars return and everyone except Jaden returns Duel Academy. I know there was a Season 4 that explained it but I haven't seen it and so it's a little odd. But not bad at all. It's still a cool season finale and I love so much about it. So, yeah, this may have come off as kinda confusing but all that is how I view the series and I really like it. I think the series as a whole is really good and it's awesome that this is part of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise. I really like the characters in this and there's a lot of  really awesome moments in my opinion. I do wish they dubbed Season 4 because I feel like that would have been awesome to see, especially since there's a point where Jaden fights Yugi as part of some exam or something. But, speaking of the dubbed, that's done really well here as well, I especially love Matthew Charles as the voice of Jaden himself. And the animation's also really good. I don't entirely think people's thoughts on this are all positive. I know there are people who enjoy it and some probably don't, but I personally really do. Yeah, there are some things about it that don't work for me, but the positives definitely overshadow the negatives in my opinion. So, yeah, especially if you're a fan of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, I would say check this out. And so, everyone, that's my review for Yu-Gi-Oh! GX. Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings Trailer

So, today, we were show the official trailer for Shang-Chi And The Legends Of The Ten Rings. And we got a whole lot more information here. For one, we're shown more of the plot like how Shang-Chi hates what his father is and doesn't want to be what he wants. We also see more action and more interactions with some other characters. I'm really excited to see these characters because they look likeable and the actors look like they're doing great jobs with them and it'll be cool to see more new characters in the M.C.U. But probably the biggest surprise in this for me came in at the end where we see the Abomination again. Yeah, after all this time, he's back and he looks different this time, but it's great to see him again considering he's been absent since The Incredible Hulk. Overall, this trailer made me more excited to see the film and the fact that it'll be out in three months makes it even better. And so, here it is and I hope you all like this.

Luca

And so, everyone, we've arrived at the latest Pixar movie that was added to Disney+ the other day, Luca. This was one that I honestly wasn't excited for all that much despite being a huge Pixar and Disney fan. The trailers looked fine but didn't impress me all that much, but I was at least still curious to check it out. And, I didn't watch any reviews for it before watching because I didn't want to know anything about people's general thoughts. And, in the end, I thought this movie was very... okay. That's really the best I can say about this but this film didn't really impress me in any way. It wasn't bad at all and there were more good than bad, but, overall, I didn't like this that much. Also, I'm not gonna do a spoiler section for this because I'm just gonna have all my thoughts out immediately, but I still won't spoil anything about any big plot points. So, what's the story? It's about a sea monster named Luca who's a small boy. When he gets curious about wanting to explore the land but his family forbids it thinking it's dangerous on land. That is until he meets another sea monster like him named Alberto who goes on land all the time and whenever they do, they turn into humans. So, Luca and Alberto decide to explore a town called Portorosso and meet a girl there named Giulia and then she begins to teach them about the land while they're trying to hide the fact that they're sea monsters. So, obviously, right off the bat, easily the best part of this is definitely the animation. You expect a film from Pixar to look top tier these days and that's still true here. It's a gorgeous movie and the acting is of course fantastic. It's certainly not a bad movie and it does have some good things in it, but, that's about it for the positives. Now, let's get into my problems. First, there's nothing in this that feels original. As a Pixar movie, you expect there to be tons of originality and have a lot of memorable moments. But, for the most part, this film is mostly really generic. It follows a similar story to other things and I didn't find there was anything in this that was investing at all. So, unlike a film like Raya And The Last Dragon earlier this year, this didn't hold my interest that much. And, since the film didn't hold my interest that much, it felt like a bit of a drag to get through this and it's never a good thing when you feel like you're just getting through a movie and not watching it because you're enjoying it. I also found the goal of the movie to be weird. I won't spoil it, but there's a point where Luca and Alberto decide they want to do a specific thing and I was kinda under the impression that was just gonna be something small for the film and something bigger was gonna happen, but there wasn't. That really was what the big goal of the film was and that was weird to me. Also, while I didn't dislike any of the characters, they also didn't have anything that new to them and they felt really clichéd a lot of the time. There wasn't anything new to them and they just kept falling under a bunch of clichés. Especially the villain of the film named Ercole who's just some random bully in the town who's just a clichéd bully. There's also a lot of plotholes in the film that didn't make any sense whatsoever and the film gets into it's main story really, really quickly. Like I said in some other review before. You expect a Pixar film, or just any film, to be set up in the beginning where we know who these characters are and what they do, but they skip a lot of that in the beginning and just get into Luca going up to the surface really, really quickly. There's also some plot points that go nowhere. Like there's a set up with Luca towards the beginning and it never goes anywhere afterwards and the ending doesn't feel that satisfying and it has a pretty generic ending too. I know I'm probably being too harsh on this film because it's not a bad movie at all, but when a studio like Pixar has high stands of expectations with their films and they make something average like this, that's a big disappointment in my opinion. And, really, I don't see this as a film I want to watch again after the first viewing. Which is sad because, like you all know, I a gigantic Pixar fanboy and I usually love their films, but I just didn't find this to be anything exceptional. It really didn't hit me in the same way as their other films, and especially not in the way Raya did in March. So, yeah, that's really it. I know this review wasn't super long, but I didn't have that much to say about it because there really wasn't much to this in my opinion. So, really, overall, if you're interested, I would say watch it, it's not a complete waste of time, but it's also not one of the best Pixar movies ever and I don't think I'd watch it again.
