Chicken Run

The team that brought you Wallace & Gromit now bring their first full length stock motion animated film "Chicken Run." This is a movie all the critics went nuts for. It was well written, well animated a unique story, some of the best slapstick ever and some of the most memorable characters ever. And yeah I agree. My dad and I love to watch this all the time. It was one of best films the 2 of us ever watched together. It was even a gigantic hit box office when it came out. What's the story? On a chicken farm in England one a group of hens led by one hen named "Ginger" try to escape everyday. Why!? Because the owner of the farm named "Mrs Tweedy" has them lay eggs and when they can't lay anymore she and her husband "Mr Tweedy" kill them. But one night they think they can get out with the help of a rooster named "Rocky." The hens think he flew into the pen but actually he's from the circus and he was fired out of a cannon and that's how he got there. But he doesn't want to go back so he makes a deal with Ginger and the others. If they keep him safe and hide from the circus and don't let the Tweedys find him he'll teach them how to fly. But his wing is broken so he can't teach them right away. But things seem to really get out of hand when Mrs Tweedy decides she wants to start making pies out of the chickens but first Mr Tweedy has to put the machine together. So the race is on to see if the hens, Rocky and another friend of theirs named "Fowler" can get out before the machine is fully put together. For this being the first full length stock motion animated film it's pretty impressive. The designs are unique and the set pieces are pretty big looking. The theme of this is a little different than something like Wallace and Gromit that was a bit more quiet most of the time, this one is constant dialog and constant visual jokes. This is by far one of most adult like movies I've ever seen, I mean it has a lot of adult jokes and the dialog actually does seem like the kind of conversations that most adults would have. And speaking of which I really like the dialog in this movie. It's mostly calm and matches the actor's line with the way the characters are moving perfectly. And like I said before the characters are also likable and even Mrs Tweedy as the villain, while a bit bland at times is actually pretty cool and threatening. I guess my only main problem with the film is the liar revealed plot which I've said before I really hate and it does stretch on for a few minutes and during those few minutes it's just boring. But if that's my biggest problem with the film I have little to complain about. I can't think of anything else wrong with this film. It unique and very creative. What else can I say, I love it. I've seen it 100000 times before and I'll definitely see it 100000 times again.
