Over the hedge
I'll say this right away. This movie is emotional, family friendly and funny. There's some great moments in this movie and it really, really fits into the movie. What's the story? We have a racoon named "RJ," who accidentally destroyed some food belonging to a bear named "Vincent." He promised that if he wouldn't kill him he would get all the food back within one week. We then cut to a forest where some animals led by a turtle named "Verne" have just awoken from hibernation. Every year they always gather food to fill the log that they live in for the winter. The members are "Ozzie and Heather the possums," "Stella the stunk," "Lou, Penny, Spike, Quillo and Bucky the porcupines" and "Hammy the squirrel." I'd say that Hammy is my favourite character. They come across a hedge in the forest where they live and over it is "Suburbia." RJ tricks them to help him gather the food for Vincent. Verne doesn't trust RJ but the others are trusting him, though he doesn't tell them that he's just going to steal the food once they gather it all the food he's just going to take it all and just give it to Vincent. They get all the food from a woman's house from across the hedge. One night while they're stealing her food, an exterminator comes and captures them all, but RJ manages to get away and gets the food to Vincent. He then realises how much he needs them all so he goes in saves them but Vincent tries to kill him because he destroyed the food again. The reason I said this movie is emotional is because there's a lot of family moments in it. There good and soothing melodies not to mention really heart-warming songs like the "Still" song. I could just listen to that song forever. It's really nice. One of the better upsides of the movie is the cast. They're just great characters and on top of that it's a great set-up. RJ is not the villain, Verne is not the villain. It's just that they all just don't wan to die. And I know everyone can relate to that. Hammy is my favourite character because he is such a maniac. He is just so full of energy and he is just so hyper. His actions like that just makes me laugh my pants off. The rest of the actors do a good job of bringing good personalities to these characters. The climax is a ton of fun. The animals are being hunted by the woman, exterminator and Vincent and the ending is just awesome.
