Here, I'm going to count down my top 5 actors who were in either Marvel or DC and then swapped over to the other or returned to it. The number 1 pick shouldn't really be surprising. So without anything else to say, let's start.
5. J.K. Simmons: Apparently J.K Simmons is going to be playing Jim Gordon in the new Batman movie and we already know he played J. Jonah Jameson in the three original Spider-Man movies. And recently there've been new photos of him working out for the role and we already know that he was really good as J.J and now it's time to see him as the commissioner of Gotham.
4. Michael Keaton: This actually is kinda risky to write down because Michael Keaton hasn't exactly been confirmed completely for this role, but it's in the air so I thought I'd talk about it. I am of course talking about the fact that he's said to be playing the new villain in Spider-Man: Homecoming and we already knew him for playing a comic book hero in 1989's Batman and 1992's Batman Returns. And while he was good as the role, I would say that he wasn't the best. I would give the title of best Batman to either Christian Bale or Ben Affleck. But nonetheless, he was still good and now we'll probably see him be another comic book character in next year's Spider-Man: Homecoming.
3. Halle Berry: Do I even need to explain this one? No I don't think I do. I'm talking about when she played Storm in the X-Men movies and Catwoman in the solo Catwoman spin off movie in 2004. We all know how absolutely awful the Catwoman movie was and we also know that she is a much better Storm. Not only did Catwoman have the worst on-screen comic book costume ever and a weird performance by her but it's arguably the second or maybe even the absolute worst comic book movie ever which is said by some people. But thankfully her role as Storm is a lot better and probably one of the best performances of all the X-Men movies.
2. Ben Affleck: When I mention this guy, I'm talking about when he played Daredevil in the 2003 Daredevil movie and his newest role as Batman. While he wasn't terrible as Daredevil, there were some problems with it. But now his superhero acting problems are gone with his new role as Batman. And while there is also a problem with this new Batman with him killing people which we all know is not what he's supposed to do. But aside from that, we all know that the performance from Ben Affleck as Batman is amazing and one of the better ones and way better than his Daredevil performance which we all know is best left with Charlie Cox on the Netflix show.
And the number 1 Marvel and DC actor switch is... Ryan Reynolds: Was there any doubt? Of course Ryan Reynolds is probably the oddest switcher in these two companies than anyone else. In 2009 he was given the role of Deadpool in Origins but we all want to forget about that. And then in 2011 he stared in Green Lantern which should have ended his superhero acting career. But thankfully he got one more shot in this year's Deadpool solo spinoff movie which gave us the Deadpool we've all been waiting for. And he's absolutely entrenched himself in the character and has practically become the character like Robert Downey Jr. or Chris Evans and we are all so, so, so happy that he did because Deadpool is definitely one of the best comic book movies all year and one of best in years. It was better than all of the comic book movies last year and, in my opinion better than all the ones from 2014 and 2013. I wouldn't say 2012 because 2012 had amazing comic book movies in it like the Avengers, the Amazing Spider-Man and the Dark Knight Rises. I wouldn't say it's better than Civil War, but it is still phenomenal. And the main reason it was so phenomenal was because of Reynolds who completely embodied the character and made this role his own. And all of that is why Ryan Reynolds is my choice for the number 1 Marvel and DC actor switch. Thank you all for reading and please comment down below to tell me what you thought.
