My top 10 fight scenes in the M.C.U Phase 3

So, my past two posts have been about me talking about my favourite fight scenes in the M.C.U Phase 1 and 2. And this is continuing that with Phase 3. And this one will be 10 because since Phase 3 has more movies, it allows for more action scenes. And a lot of them are incredible with how they're done. I mean, the directors at Marvel definitely know how to do these action scenes and I feel like Phase 3 allowed a lot of them to do some really unique and crazy scenes, but so many of them were handled so well that they honestly made some of my favourite scenes of all time with a lot of these. And so, let's begin and I hope you all like these.

10. Spider-Man vs. Vulture (Spider-Man: Homecoming):

Starting us off at number 10 is the final battle between Spidey and Adrian. It first starts on a plane with Peter trying to stop him from stealing from Tony's plane that's moving a whole bunch of supplies from Stark Tower. And they're just at each other the whole time with Adrian trying to kill him and Peter's trying to get him away from the plane as well as just survive. But then, as soon as the plane crashes, it becomes pretty brutal on this beach with Adrian tossing Peter around and punching him with his gloves really hard and using the claws on his suit to stamp on him. It honestly makes him kinda terrifying in that sense, but it's made even better at the end when Peter saves him when his wingsuit explodes. But the action before that is cool with how brutal it looks, especially for a hero like Spider-Man who you wouldn't necessarily expect to have much brutal action with.

9. Spider-Man and Mysterio vs. Molten Man (Spider-Man: Far From Home):

This might be a weird one if you've seen the movie because it's eventually revealed that this whole fight was technically just fake, but I still liked it all the same. Even though this is just an illusion that Beck is creating, it still looks cool and I like the various ways Peter and Beck team up against it. Most of is them trying to prevent it from consuming any metal so they constantly throw different things at and we see a lot of things happen between like Ned and Betty being stuck on a ferris wheel, Peter breaking off a projector from one of the drones and MJ finding it and Beck blasting it over and over until he makes it look like he sacrifices himself to kill it. Again, I know it's all just fake made to look like a real problem, but I still think it's a cool scene.

8. Black Panther vs. Killmonger (Black Panther):

This might be a slight controversial pick because some people do have a problem with this fight. And, yeah, I do too like how the C.G.I doesn't look very good with the whole fight with T'Challa and Killmonger with their suits. But I'm putting this on here because I still think their fight is cool, and I also love the fight that happens above with Killmonger sending W'Kabi and the other Wakandian soliders to attack T'Challa and then Okoye and the Dora Milaje go to help him. I love this whole part with both armies fighting each other and then Shuri and Nakia help them too. I also like Ross's involvement with him trying to stop the planes from bringing the Wakanda weapons to the rest of the world. This whole sequence is awesome and it's made even cooler when M'Baku and the Jabari join the fight too. But the end fight with T'Challa and Killmonger is cool too. Besides the weird C.G.I, the choreography and moves made are really cool and it's kinda intense at points.

7. Hulk vs. Thanos (Avengers: Infinity War):

This was probably a fight a lot of people were hoping would happen at some point, and the opening of Infinity War gave us it. Given how well known the strength of both Hulk and Thanos is, it was really cool to really see both of these characters duke it out on the big screen in live action. Sure, the fight's not very long, but it's still awesome with every second. It also gave us a good look at Thanos's strength pretty early given how he was able to beat Hulk up and not be using that much of his power. He didn't even need to use the Power Stone on him. And, unlike a lot of other movies that try to have some cool fight between huge monsters, this one looks really awesome and real and, thankfully, not ugly and not generic.

6. Bridge fight (Thor: Ragnarok):

At number 6 is the Marvel fight that I think is the most adrenaline fuel fight scene. The amount of hype I get from this fight is huge because it's so awesome. We first see Thor fighting Hela in the throne room on Asgard, which he loses and loses his eye in the process, but then he gets a power increase with his lightning powers and shoots towards the bridge where Hela's army is fighting against Loki, Valkyrie, Hulk, Heimdall, Korg and Miek. And this whole scene from how it's shot and the music and and visuals is so insane but so incredibly awesome all at the same time. And, with that, Skurge then joins the battle with his two guns and he gets a really awesome moment. And I love how they don't win in the traditional way of just beating Hela and then everything is back to normal. Thor suggests using Surtur to destroy Asgard and Hela in the process.

5. Guardians vs. Sovereign and Ego (Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2):

I've spoken about this climax before and I still stand by that I think this is a really phenomenal action scene. It first begin with Yondu crashing into Ego as he's trying to use Peter as a generator for his plan. But then we get an amazing action scene where the Guardians go into Ego's centre and try to destroy his core but then the Sovereign arrive with their ships trying to kill them too. This then starts a ship to ship battle with them until they destroy them and then have to deal with Ego who's trying to kill them and use Peter again. All the while they're trying to get into Ego's core and blow it up. And, like I may have said before, what I like a lot here are the interactions with the characters as they're going through all this and the action along with it. It's also accompanied with incredible C.G.I and some really hilarious parts too. Especially with how they plan out how they're gonna kill him with having Groot put the bomb on him.

4. Cap and Bucky vs. Iron Man (Captain America: Civil War):

Out of all the battles in Phase 3, or really just the entirety of the M.C.U, this one is probably the most heart-breaking. And I don't just mean the outcome like some of these other ones, I just mean the battle as well as the outcome. This is all because we're seeing two friends fighting. After Zemo reveals to Tony that Bucky killed his parents, he gets mad and attacks both him and Steve, who already knew and didn't tell him. And we get an awesome hand-to-hand fight scene with Tony going after Bucky and Steve trying to stop him. And the action is really intense. We're treated to a great fight with it being pretty grounded compared to other Iron Man action scenes with him not being able to fly and using nothing but their bare fists for most of the fight. And it's cool to see both Steve and Bucky teaming up on him. I mean, it's hard to watch on an emotional standpoint, but as a fight itself, it's amazing, especially the wide shot with both of them just pounding him over and over. And the ending is even more tragic with Tony beating up Steve a bit, but then Steve throws him down and disables his suit which means he's pretty much defeated.

3. Team Cap vs. Team Iron Man (Captain America: Civil War):

While the final fight between Steve and Bucky against Tony in Civil War is great, easily the best and most iconic fight in the movie is the airport fight with Tony, Rhodey, Natasha, Vision, T'Challa and Peter going up against Steve, Buckey, Sam, Clint, Wanda and Scott. Not only is the hero vs. hero aspect on full display here, but the stunts, choreography, C.G.I, and moves are so ingenious and so well handled that it makes the whole thing so incredible to watch. We get so many amazing moments here like how this is the first time we see Spider-Man in the M.C.U, Scott goes giant, Natasha eventually letting Steve and Bucky go and so much more. I also love how even though this sequence is about 20 minutes long, it never gets boring and is everything a lot of people wanted to see from something like this.

2. Avengers vs. Thanos (Avengers: Infinity War):

Coming in close to number 1 is actually both of the ending fights from Infinity War. Those being the fight on Titan with Iron Man, Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Star-Lord, Drax and Mantis vs. Thanos along with the battle in Wakanda with Steve, T'Challa, Natasha, Sam, Rhodey and the Wakanda army against the Outriders and other members of the Black Order. Both of these scenes are edited so well that when it goes from one to the other, it never feels frustrating because we're so invested in everything that's happening. And this was what was being built up for the past 10 years at this point. We were finally getting the chance to see so many heroes together fighting Thanos and his army. Sure, it wasn't the last time we were gonna see this, but still. And I love the little bits they do here like Stephen coming up with a plan with the others on Titan and it's cool the way they do it. But it's made all the more frustrating when Star-Lord messes it all up. I also love Tony's solo fight with Thanos because the stakes are just so high with it.

And my number 1 favourite M.C.U Phase 3 fight scene is... Avengers vs. Thanos (Avengers: Endgame):

And finally at number 1 is the final climactic battle between all the heroes of the M.C.U against Thanos and his army. This entire scene is, without a doubt, easily my favourite cinema experience ever. We first get a fight scene with Tony, Steve and Thor going up against Thanos and we get that now iconic scene where Steve lifts Mjolnir. And that part is great too, but my favourite is when all the portals open, all the resurrected heroes return and they all charge at the army with Cap saying Avengers Assemble. That whole part is absolutely mind-blowing. But then we get the cinema experience of a lifetime with every single hero fighting Thanos's army. And we get a lot of incredible moments throughout like Tony reuniting with Peter, Star-Lord reuniting with Gamora, sorta, Carol arriving and all the female heroes teaming up, T'Challa saving Clint and then getting the gauntlet which he then gives it to Spidey who then gives it to Carol and just so many other amazing moments. And I recently rewatched Endgame and something I love about the climax that I realised is that it's not particularly long. But, I think that's a good thing. Unlike a lot of movies that try to have big battles at the end like this, this one isn't long so it doesn't feel like it's going on for too long or feel like it's a bunch of mindless nonsense. It's all paced so well so it never gets boring with so many amazing scenes and action. I even love the part towards the end when Thanos almost has the gauntlet but then Thor and Cap stop him and try to kill him with Stormbreaker. But then, of course, the best moment out of all of them is Tony getting the Infinity Stones, snapping his fingers and killing Thanos and his army while sacrificing his own life in the process. This is also the highest the stakes have ever been in the M.C.U with Tony, Steve and Thor against Thanos at the start. Especially when Steve goes in by himself. I was on the edge of my seat the first time I saw that. But then it keeps going the more it goes with the big battle with all of them together and it's just a blast to watch. And all that is why the Avengers vs. Thanos is my favourite fight scene from the M.C.U Phase 3. And so, everyone, those were my picks for my top 10 fight scenes from the M.C.U Phase 3.
