Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (Anime Review)

So, guys, I'm back with anime review. I know I'm becoming really inconsistent with these anime reviews and I'm not really doing them as a series and more just kinda doing them at random, but I do want to get back to doing a series of these again. Anyway, this time, I'm covering the series I finished just today, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. This is another super popular series that began in 2019 and it's an adaptation of the Shonen Jump manga by Koyoharu Gotouge and I finally finished the first season just today. This is a series I've wanted to watch for a long while because I'd heard nothing but great things about it. But, for the longest time, whenever I tried to get it on either DVD or Blu-Ray, it either wasn't here or was too expensive with only being collector's editions. But, more often than not, it just wouldn't be here. But, eventually, I was able to find it on Netflix and the entire first season was there. So, on Tuesday, I got started on it and I just finished it this morning. And, in the end, yeah, I really, really enjoyed it. I will admit, when it started, I wasn't that big of a fan. I liked it fine but the first couple of episodes weren't exactly doing it for me, even though I thought they were fine. But after those first few episodes, it picked up considerably and once it did, I was immediately hooked. I've really enjoyed what I've seen so far and I see why people love it so much. I don't think I loved it the same way everyone else did, but still, I really enjoyed this first season. So, let's just get into this. Also, as per usual, this will have all the spoilers so don't read this if you're interested to see this and don't wanna know anything. So the basic plot is that the main protagonist is a kid named Tanjiro who, after his family gets killed by a demon aside from his sister who's turning into a demon, now wants to do everything he can to turn her back to normal. The only way he can think to do that is to become a Demon Slayer, a group of people who specialise in hunting demons using special swords and sword techniques. So Tanjiro travels to a man who teaches him a water style of sword fighting and now he's filling out a whole bunch of missions for the Demon Slayer Corp while still trying to find a way to turn his sister, named Nezuko, back to normal. So, that's the basic plot, but believe me when I say a lot happens in this show. So, like I what I was saying a second ago, the first few episode, mainly the parts where Tanjiro was travelling to the man's house and the training there, while not bad, didn't interest me all that much. But as soon as Tanjiro went to the selection exam and got his own sword and began fulfilling missions for the Demon Slayer Corp, that's when I really to get intrigued. I really liked the characters more afterwards and I thought they were becoming more interesting. Tanjiro himself was also sticking out to me more and I grew to really like him. He actually started to remind me Deku from My Hero Academia. Just with the way he acted and the mannerisms and all sorts of things like that, yeah, he just started remind me of him after a while. But he does still feel like his own character and I really enjoyed him. The series is also really, really hilarious. This is probably one of the funniest anime's I've seen in a long time. And I didn't expect it to have as much comedy in it as much as it does. I'd say easily the funniest character is a guy named Zenitsu. This guy who's a member of the Corp like Tanjiro and is the same age but is also a huge coward and is obsessed with girls so he's always screaming and chasing after them. Just watch this.
And yeah, that whole stuff with him is so hilarious. I also like Inosuke, this crazy moron who's always wearing a boar head and has two swords. The three of them then kinda form into a team and I really liked the three of them together. But, even before the three of them meet up, the missions Tanjiro goes on are fun, although, yeah, being an anime, there's some incredibly brutal stuff. Honestly, some of the most brutal stuff I think I may have ever seen in a Shonen Jump series. A lot of the time, Tanjiro and the others are having to fight demons and a lot of the fights can be insanely bloody and insanely violent. No, it's nothing that extreme when compared to R rated anime like Berserk or Attack On Titan, but it's actually pretty close, I'm not gonna lie. And the action scenes are just amazing. I haven't mentioned this yet, but this is easily one of the best looking anime's I've ever seen. This was made by Studio Ufotable and they really knocked this out of the park because the style for this show is incredible. Whenever Tanjiro or any of the other characters use their sword techniques, it looks unbelievable. I don't know what technique they used to for those scenes but it looks phenomenal. Tanjiro uses a a technique called Water Breathing and so water sorta appears from his sword when he's attacking and the look of it is like nothing I've ever seen before. It's a style I've never heard of before either and I really loved it. And a lot of the fights are insanely creative as well. Tanjiro is really clever in a fight and a lot of the time, he has to adapt in a fight to know how to beat his opponents. And the demons themselves as well are really cool and creative, but they're also really interesting and complex too. They do all these horrible things like murdering innocents but some are also really tragic and you do feel sorry for some of them. Or at least you kinda before they sorta slip into a murderous state again and so it kinda creates this thought that you don't really know how to feel about them. And, really, like I was saying I really like the missions that Tanjiro goes on, especially one in particular where he goes to a town in Tokyo and discovers a woman there who's also a demon but can also control herself and is good. I really like Tanjiro talking to her and it's also there where we meet Muzan Kibutsuji, the main villain of the whole series but then Tanjiro finds out he has a family and can't find it in him to kill him then and there but then he's able to turn another person into a demon as a distraction. So, yeah, I'm curious to know what's happening there. Whether or not he's legitimately trying to have a normal family or if it's just some cover up is questionable but then he gathers members of his demon group together and he brutally murders a whole bunch of them. So, yeah, it's more than likely that he is just horrible guy, but we don't entirely know yet. And I really loved the part where Tanjiro first meets Zenitsu and Inosuke in that house and they have to save a family while fighting a demon who can make the house move in crazy ways. I really enjoyed that part. And then towards the end of season 1, we get to see Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke get trained by a woman from the Corp and so they're able to get stronger. Speaking of, we even get to meet the Corp itself with its Hashira members, as in the strongest members. And, yeah, some are likeable and some are hateable so there's a variety of different characters there too. And I really liked the training part of Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke getting stronger and their personalities really shine through here like Tanjiro's kindness and determination, Zenitsu's cowardliness but also his resolve to become stronger and Inosuke's craziness and stupidity, it was just a lot of fun to watch. But then the very end of it has the three of them, along with Nezuko getting on a train to face off another demon which leads to the recent Demon Slayer movie, Mugen Train. And it's interesting that the continuation of the series after this point is a movie. I haven't read the manga yet but I'm interested to know if the whole movie is from the manga. I'm pretty sure they've also made Season 2 and are making Season 3 at the moment. So, I'm interested to watch all of that and keep going with the series. And I'm especially interested to see how many seasons there actually will be because the manga is actually finished already. And I find it interesting that the manga has already been completed because it's not long at all. It's only 23 volumes long and finished around September a few months ago. So, yeah, if it keeps this level of quality for the rest of the series, I'm really excited to see more. And the dub for this series is great too like Zach Aguilar, Aleks Le and Bryce Papenbrook as Tanjiro, Zenitsu and Inosuke. They're all really likeable, charming and hilarious in their own right. So, yeah, I'm really excited to see more when more dubbed episodes come out and when the anime does end and I finish watching all the dubbed episodes, I might make a part 2 to this. So, yeah, I definitely recommend checking this series out. I feel like it's another great anime to binge watch. And so, everyone, those are my thoughts on Demon Slayer. Thank you all for reading and please comment down below to tell me what you think.

My top 10 releases of 2022

So I know I'm late with making this kinda entry I make every year except last year, but, like I said, I'm really busy lately so that's why it's taken me this long to do this. But also I had some time to think about the things I wanted to include. Sure, like always, there were some obvious ones, and, yeah, these are obvious I suppose, but the order of some of these and where I wanted to put them was what I wanted to think about a lot. Anyway, yeah, 2022 has a lot of things coming out and I'm really exited for a lot of it. Not to mention all the other things things that a lot of people are excited for that I don't know about makes things even more exciting for everyone at this stage. Anyway, with that out of the way, let's begin and I hope you all like this.

10. Lightyear:

Starting us off at number 10 is the second Pixar movie in 2022, Lightyear. Kind of a similar to my feelings about Turning Red, I am pretty curious about this film too because the trailers haven't exactly done it for me. I am mainly curious because it is a Pixar movie and, to be fair, a movie exploring the actual character of Buzz Lightyear is pretty interesting. And, whether or not this has problems, it won't effect the actual Toy Story movies because this doesn't necessarily count as one Probably the part about this I'm most excited for is the fact that Chris Evans is in this as Buzz. I personally love Chris Evans as an actor and so, having him in a Pixar movie is really exciting for me.

9. Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Part 1:

Next up is the follow-up to 2018's masterpiece Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Part 1. Seeing how absolutely incredible the first movie is, that gives me a lot of hope for the second movie. We got a trailer for it last month and that looks fantastic and so I'm very curious to see it. I love how they're more than likely gonna improve everything on the technical side of things and the trailer we got for it just proves that even more and I can't wait for it. There's just a lot they could do here and I'm excited to see exactly what they do do with it.

8. The Batman:

At number 8 is the only DC movie on here, The Batman. While a lot of people are super hyped for this, and I am too, there are some concerns I have for this because some things in the advertising, while very cool, there are some things about it I have concerns about. But, the advertising is still making it look like a very cool film. Not to mention this film is looking like a very different comic book movie. But, really, I am still excited for this. I'm loving the approach they're showing with this and Matt Reeves is making this look cool and unique too. I'm really excited to see Robert Pattinson's take on Batman and I'm curious to know what this film will really be like.

7. Attack On Titan: Season 4:

Now, when I'm talking about Attack On Titan: Season 4, I'm really only talking about when it'll be released on DVD. Even though I only got into this series around May last year , I've become a big fan and I really loved the first three seasons and everyone is raving over the fact that this final season is up there with doing everything still super well. Personally, I wasn't a fan that they changed studios to do the animation because I definitely preferred the original and the new animation doesn't personally sit well with me, but I'm still super excited to see how they finish the series and see the ending. I've actually seen the ending from having all the manga volumes, but I'm interested to see it animated.

6. My Hero Academia: Season 4:

Similar to my pick with Attack On Titan, I'm mainly referring to seeing this season on DVD. I know they're on about Season 5 at the moment, but I'm still waiting to see Season 4 first. I was waiting for this for a while since they finally released the complete Season 2 and 3 last year and getting Season 4 here took a while. But now it's finally coming here. The complete Season 4 will be released here on the 21st of February and I am super excited to get it and keep watching. And I guess this also applies to the manga as well because I'm also caught up with the manga volumes and I'm really excited for volume 30 later this year. Especially after seeing what happened at the end of the last volume.

5. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever:

Okay, now we're getting into the M.C.U and the first of them is the sequel to 2018's Black Panther, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Now, the reason why this isn't higher on the list is because there's a lot of concern around this film. Obviously the first big thing you'd think is the fact that Chadwick Boseman is after passing away, which already one big tragedy, but there is some other things too like there's a whole controversy around Letitia Wright apparently and so those two things are reasons why people are concerned. But, I'm still confident they can do something with this. I actually heard that this was gonna be about T'Challa and Nakia's son, so, that's interesting. Whatever the case, I'm still really excited to see what they can do and especially since this is the sequel to one of my personal favourite M.C.U films.

4. Strange World:

At number 4 is the next Disney Classic after Encanto, Strange World. While I'm super excited for this like always, I don't think we know enough about it yet for me to be placing it higher. The concept art seems interesting and I do have more excitement for this more than either of the Pixar movies this year and I have more hope for it. I'm sure as we get more info and get closer to the release, I'll be more excited and interested to know what the actual plot for this will be. And given Disney was able to do great work last year with Raya And The Last Dragon and Encanto, that gives me a lot more excitement to see what will happen with this.

3. Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness:

Another 2022 M.C.U movie on here is Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. There's like a billion reasons to be excited for this but the main reason I am is because of all the possibilities that can be opened up to the M.C.U because of it. There's so many rumours surrounding this about so many new characters that could be brought in and after Spider-Man: No Way Home, this has me just all the more pumped for this. But there's so many things to already be excited for like seeing that evil Doctor Strange and seeing Stephen and Wanda teaming up as well as all the rest. Really, just all the possibilities this could open up for the future of the M.C.U almost seems endless at this stage.

2. Thor: Love And Thunder:

Coming in close to number 1 is actually the M.C.U movie I'm most excited for, Thor: Love And Thunder. I'm not gonna lie, originally, I was kinda skeptical about this. I'm not sure why, but something about how weird the title felt and the way things were looking was a bit odd to me. But, the more I thought about it, the more I'm excited for this. The fact that Taika Waititi is coming back is the main reason, but also all the other things this film could implement. We're gonna be getting Natalie Portman back as Jane and she's gonna becoming Lady Thor and we're also probably gonna be getting the Guardians back in this and a lot of this is seeming really awesome and fun to me. Thor: Ragnarok is one of the most fun M.C.U movies ever and I can't wait to see Taika Waititi bring this back for this film too.

And my number 1 most anticipated release of 2022 is... The next Kingdom Hearts project:

And finally at number 1 is the same thing it always is, the upcoming Kingdom Hearts project. I know I always put this at number 1, but I really can't help it. And this one especially is really special considering, now that it's 2022, it's the 20th anniversary since the first game and we're supposedly gonna get a really big announcement really soon. I hope it's an announcement for Kingdom Hearts 4 or some kinda showing for it in a way. Not to mention the other things happening this year for it like how the series is coming to the Nintendo Switch and I've started doing Let's Plays as sorta of a celebration of those facts and as a lead up to the next game. So, yeah, I know this must be annoying to see every time I do these, but I'm still saying whenever the Kingdom Hearts announcement for this year is, I'm really excited for it. And that's why the next Kingdom Hearts project is my most anticipated release of 2022. And so, everyone, those are my pick for my most anticipated releases of 2022. Thank you all for reading and please comment down below to tell me what you think.

Moon Knight Trailer

All right guys, so we're still getting more news of more M.C.U shows on Disney+ and today, we got the official trailer for, honestly, the show I'm most excited for, Moon Knight. Even though I don't know much about the character himself, I know enough to be excited to finally see him in live action and this trailer does a really good job of showing why. It looks really dark, even for a fairly dark character in the M.C.U, this does look surprisingly dark. We were even told that a lot of this was gonna be darker and more violent than the things we're used to seeing in the M.C.U and a lot of this trailer is exciting for me. I like seeing Oscar Isaac in the M.C.U and it's reminding me of some other stories of characters going crazy due to hearing voices in their heads and the actual Moon Knight costume itself does look really cool. So, yea, I'm just excited to see what this is like and it'll be exciting to see a new character added to the M.C.U. Also, I have finished Hawkeye, so hopefully I'll get my review of it out soon. Anyway, here's the trailer and I hope you all like this.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness Teaser

Okay, I know I'm late with showing this, but I've been really busy lately to make entries so I kinda forgot, but now I'm showing all of you the trailer for Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness. This movie has honestly been very interesting upon closer to the release and a lot of that is due to the behind the scenes drama that's been going on with it with Scott Derrickson leaving and Sam Raimi being brought in as the director and the whole thing about how this was being built up as a horror movie. Seeing as Sam Raimi is directing this, that does make sense, and, while I don't think this trailer shows that, there is still a lot to like about this. It's cool seeing this after seeing WanadVision and Spider-Man: No Way Home because there's still clearly a lot being brought over from those and everything does still look interesting. We get to see Stephen talking to Wanda and we even get to see Mordo again after a long while. I also think it's cool we're seeing that evil Doctor Strange character who was in What If... and everything about how this could bring in a whole bunch of new characters into the M.C.U is insanely exciting. I think that's probably the thing about this I'm most excited about, just seeing all the new characters that could be introduced to the M.C.U because of this film. So, yeah, really excited to see what's in this and where the direction goes. Also, yeah, it's cool to see this after No Way Home considering this was the end credit scene of that film. Anyway, yeah, I'm really excited. And so, here it is and I hope you all like this.

My Shoto Todoroki, Natsu Dragneel, Yusei Fudo, Saitama, Kirishima, Nico Robin and Jimbei collectibles (Review)

So, for the past few days, I've been getting a lot more collectibles of anime characters for Christmas and I did reviews for all of them. In this case, I got the ones for Todoroki, Natsu, Yusei, Saitama, Kirishima, Robin and Jimbei. It was great getting all of these and adding them to my collections. It was awesome adding more to my Straw Hat and Class 1A collections as well as cool to be getting more anime protagonists. I was especially happy to finally get one for Yusei because he was kinda hard to find but I did find one on eBay and while it was really expensive, I was able to get it for Christmas and I find it amazing to have gotten another Yu-Gi-Oh! character. Also, as to why I have two videos, I did the Todoroki one first and was gonna show it on here as per usual, but then some of the others started to come and so I wanted to wait until all of these were here to show them. And so, here they are and I hope you all like these.

My Let's Play Of Kingdom Hearts

So, everyone, I've finally done it. After all this time, I've finally been able to start doing my Let's Plays on my YouTube channel. I've honestly been trying to do this ever since around November 2019 and now I've finally begun. The first I'm starting off with is obviously the Kingdom Hearts games and I'm doing them in order of release and so I started the first one yesterday and I actually just posted the second part now. It's really been a dream of mine to properly do Let's Plays and now I've finally gotten started with my favourite video game series of all time. I'm so incredibly excited to continue with the rest of the series and especially get ready for the next Kingdom Hearts game. This is now the 20th anniversary of the first Kingdom Hearts game and a lot of people, including me, are excited to see what we'll get out of this year. So, yeah, really, here it is. Please do watch and subscribe for more of my Let's Plays of the Kingdom Hearts series coming really soon.

My Kingdom Hearts 3 Ventus Bring Arts figure (Review)

So, after almost a whole year of not getting any Bring Arts figure for a Kingdom Hearts character, I finally recently with my new one for Ven. My sister got it for me for Christmas and I was so glad I finally got one of him and that means I finally have him and Aqua together. That means that in terms of the Guardians, I just need Terra left and I can't wait to eventually get him. And this one as well is really cool. I always love getting these and getting more of these ones for Kingdom Hearts. I may try getting the second versions of Sora and Riku at some point, but, for now, my priority after finally gotten Ven is to get Terra and putting all ten of the Guardians together, plus my SH Figures of Donald and Goofy as well. I cant wait to all of them together at last and see what it looks like. And so, here's my review of my figure for Ventus and I hope you all like this.

My top 5 movies of 2021

So, everyone, now that 2021 is over, that means it's time to talk about my favourite movies of the entire year. This was a bit of a tossup for me because, while I did see a lot of movies this year compared to what I usually see, a good amount of them were either movies I didn't like at all or thought were kinda mediocre. But I still did see a lot of films I thought were amazing and some were even mind-blowing. There are some I wish I did see that maybe could have made it onto this list too to maybe make it a top 10 list, but for now, these are just my top 5. And so, let's begin and I hope you all like this.

5. Encanto:

Starting us off is the latest Disney Classic. I know this was usually placed as the best animated movie of 2021, but I personally thought another was slightly better. That being said, I still really enjoyed this film a lot. The fact that it's a Disney Classic is obviously a big reason, but it's still a great one and they did a great job with it. I loved the setting with being inside the Madrigal's house the whole time and the songs were also fantastic to listen to. And, like I said in my review, I liked it's showing of having Mirabel as the only one in the family without a gift and so the arc for her was made more interesting for her. And, again having the songs be done by Lin-Manuel Miranda was a brilliant idea because he's a phenomenal song writer and he did a great job with these. Really, I was just so glad to see another Disney Classic in theatres again and it was this good.

4. Shang-Chi: And The Legend Of The Ten Rings:

Next up is the first of the M.C.U movies this year on this list, Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings. Easily one of the best M.C.U movies we've gotten in the past few years, this film gave us one of the most charismatic protagonists in the M.C.U in a while, absolutely incredible performances from everyone and some of the best action we've seen in any action movie in a long time. This film honestly made Simu Liu one of my favourite M.C.U actors and I love how it has one of my all time favourite M.C.U villains with the real Mandarin with another one of my favourite M.C.U performances from Tony Leung. I just feel like this film gave me even more respect to the people in behind the scenes of the M.C.U, which is really saying something considering how massive of a fan I already am. But, even if it didn't have an amazing story with fantastic performances, which it clearly does, the action in it alone would be enough for me to love it because it's all so fantastically executed.

3. Raya And The Last Dragon:

At number 3 is the other Disney Classic released this year and the one I preferred, Raya And The Last Dragon. Not only was this the Disney film I was more excited for, but I also very much appreciated how much work was done to it. Encanto did too, but this just has so much more of what I want in a Disney film. It's one of the most fun I may have ever seen, some of the best animation I've ever seen and has so many memorable characters. And really, as the massive Disney fan I am, this is exactly what I want from future Disney Classics as well because, especially after watching it more times, this has definitely become one of my favourite Disney movies like I mentioned before. It even has one of my favourite Disney songs with Lead The Way. And, whatever the next Disney Classic is after Encanto, I can't wait for it.

2. The Suicide Squad:

Coming in close to number 1 is honestly my favourite DC movie ever, The Suicide Squad. And I mean in all of DC. Yes, even more than The Dark Knight trilogy. Those movies are fine and they're really good, but I don't love them. The Suicide Squad on the other hand is everything I could want out a super fun, funny and really enjoyable experience like this. And it fixed everything the previous DC.E.U movies did wrong with having amazing buildup to the final fight, amazing and extremely violent action and visual effect, hilarious moments and just being a very well written and well paced story. It also a film that has a fantastic style to it thanks to James Gunn and what he brings to the film is so enjoyable that I can't help but really, really enjoy it. And, if they ever decide to do another movie like this, I absolutely cannot wait for it.

And my number 1 favourite movie of 2021 is... Spider-Man: No Way Home:

And finally at number 1 is probably most anticipated movie that was coming out this year, Spider-Man: No Way Home. Yeah, really, from the beginning, even though I'm a gigantic fan of the M.C.U's version of Spider-Man, since the beginning, I was really nervous about this film after hearing the Sony Spider-Man characters were crossing over with this because that made me think that this could go wrong with being so overstuffed and having other problems like that. But, thankfully, this film and the crew and cast proved me wrong and they created one of the best cinematic experiences I think I've ever had. And, while, no, it's not perfect and there are things in it I have problems with like some plot holes, that didn't take away from how much I enjoyed this. In fact, I've seen the film two times already and I hope to see it again before it comes out of cinemas. There was amazing performances from everyone, so many callbacks to other movies and the actual characters we do see in this is truly mind-blowing. I don't want to say too much in case you haven't yet, but something else that's incredible is the fact that it's now made over a billion dollars at the box office worldwide and I said to a friend of mine that the fact that it could really do that during the pandemic is extremely impressive. And, there's a good reason for that. And all that is why Spider-Man: No Way Home is my favourite movie of 2021. And so, everyone, those are my picks for my top 5 movies of 2021. Thank you all for reading and please comment down below to tell me what you think or even tell me what your favourite movies of 2021 are.
