My Hero Academia (Anime Review)

So, going back to my anime series review, we have a fairly recent one that started four years ago, a super popular one, My Hero Academia. The manga just started back in 2014 by Kohei Horikoshi, who, recently, has become one of my favourite manga artists. Not only can he create a great story with great characters, but he can also produce incredible artwork and really quickly as well. Like, he was able to get six volumes out last year, so that's really impressive. And I don't think I need to tell you all just how popular it is. I've never seen any manga series have so many people getting new volumes this quickly. Last year, in London, there were new volumes coming out and people were just lining up to get them. I myself didn't get into the series until August of last year because a friend of mine was a massive fan of it and I was really curious to see it because it looked really cool. And, as soon as I started, I couldn't stop. The series just had something to it that just got me hooked on it immediately. And the anime is also something that people greatly look forward to a lot with each new season. It's currently on Season 4, and it's just been getting awesome really quickly. Seriously, it only has 23 volumes out currently and it already has some amazing moments, some of the best in recent anime. Technically more if you count the ones that haven't been translated yet. So, yeah, let's get into the story itself first. In a world where there's people with superpowers, or quirks as they're called here, we basically have a society where they're heroes and villains, which they even refer to. Most people are born with quirks and some aren't, like the main character of the series, Izuku Midoriya. That is until he comes across his favourite hero, All Might. All Might is seen as the number 1 hero in the world but is losing his power greatly due to an injury and is looking to pass on his power to someone else, and, after witnessing Midoriya trying to save Katsuki Bakugo, or Kacchan, he decides to pass it on to him. And Midoriya had already been wanting to be a hero himself even though he knew not having a quirk would make that impossible before this. And so, along with a ton of his new friends, he's training to be a hero at U.A High. So, what I think is really great about the series is how kinda self-aware it is while still knowing exactly how to tell its story. 'Cause a lot of the time, there are some pretty cheesy moments in this and feels like it's knows that, but that doesn't get in the way of the story. It even seems to do well with making everything it does really exciting. It's like I said before, every time something new about this series comes out, it always makes people excited to see more, whether it's more manga volumes or new seasons for the anime. And the way the story moves along and shows the characters doing something new and presenting them with new situations, the way Horikoshi writes the series in that way helps make the story so interesting and so enduring. As well as almost impossible to put down once you start reading or watching it. The characters are also so well written and so memorable that you can't help but like almost all of them. Some aren't as memorable as others, but they're all so unique in a way that you can't not be impressed. It's hard to say who's my favourite character, though it is probably Midoriya, A.K.A, Deku. But the rest are great too, All Might, Kacchan, Uraraka, Iida, Todoroki, Kirishima. All of them are great and greatly developed in their own way. I will say, while the first few episodes are really good and help get the series get started, but it really gets going once the Sports Festival begins. From that point onward the series keeps on a huge high note. I also liked the relationships that form in this. The friendship that Deku has with the other classmates, his rivalry with Kacchan and his student teacher relationship with All Might. All the relationships that form not only feel real, but they're also satisfying to watch and are just fun as well. Plus, not only are the heroes fun to watch, the villains are too. I will say, sometimes watching the League Of Villains can be a little boring, but the majority of their scenes are a lot of fun to watch and there's a lot of great moments with them. And some are pretty interesting. Some can go a bit over the top, but it's all in spirit of how the story is written, so it fits with it. The action scenes are also amazing. Whether it's due to amazing choreography, amazing animation or amazing speed, the action scenes always deliver. There's a lot of great and creative and memorable ones too like the Deku vs. Todoroki fight, which I spoke about recently in my top 5 tournaments in anime list, the All Might vs. All For One, Deku vs. Kacchan. They're all really well planned out and executed. And there's even more in regards to the manga. It's really the only manga series I always immediately read from start to finish really quickly whenever I get a new volume or whenever a new volume comes out. It also does what I love about a lot of manga series and that's having interest in the world of the series. A lot of manga and anime have worlds that make it really interesting and that's part of the charm that a lot of them. And this series has that, whether we're talking about the present day considering it feels like modern day with the technology they use, or we're being told about the past because a lot of these characters have some pretty fascinating backstories. And, I'm not sure who else would say this, but the fact that it's a story centred around superheroes makes it that much cooler. It's also clever how Horikoshi designs the manga covers because, like I just said, it's a manga centred around superheroes, so he decided to make each cover look like a real comic book cover, so that's really cool to see. The series is also really funny, mainly to do with every character's different personalities working off each other and seeing them being themselves is just a lot of fun and there's a lot of funny moments that come with them. It's also great how this series does actually feel fresh as a Shonen series. And not just a Shonen series, but also an action Shonen series. And it feels really fresh given the fact that there's a lot of new action Shonens out there and some have been average at best in the past few years, but this one feels like it's own thing. Even in parts of the story that can feel like other Shonen manga, it still does it in a great way that I don't mind one little bit and it makes it feel original and great to watch. Again, just watching the series unfold and seeing how the story is being told and wondering where it's going is exactly what makes the series so enjoyable and I can't wait for more. Like I said, Horikoshi gets these volumes out quick and the next one will be released later on in June and volume 25 will be out in October. And I'm curious to know how it's gonna end as well considering I have no idea how it'll end. They haven't given any hints about the ending either. The only thing we do know is that Deku does become the world's greatest hero from him narrating it in the first episode, but there's no way of know how that happened and so I'm interested in knowing. They could have him fight All For One and kill him or maybe something or someone else like Shigaraki. So, overall, this is a really great series. The fact that a lot of people, including myself, are always so excited for more from this series and are always happy about binging it should give everyone an idea of how amazing the series is. It's like what I said about Yu Yu Hakusho, it's a series that's great to binge watch at the moment and I'm really excited to see so much more in regards to the manga and anime. Definitely get into the series if you're able to, it's totally worth it. And so, yeah, that probably wasn't the best review you'd see of the series, but those are all the thoughts I could think of and I hope you all liked it. And so, yeah, those are my thoughts on My Hero Academia. And so, everyone, thank you all for reading and please comment down below to tell me what you think.

My thoughts on the Kingdom Hearts Disney+ show

So, recently, there's been a lot of news on Facebook and Twitter that there's gonna be a Kingdom Hearts series for Disney+. Some people have said it's gonna be live action and some have said it's gonna be animated, though it's more than likely gonna be animated if it's really happening. And I guess this is good chance to talk about my thoughts about stuff like this. I've been thinking of a Disney original series of Kingdom Hearts for a while and it made me think of different things I'd want to see as well as what I think of it as a whole. First off, I always thought if a show of Kingdom Hearts was ever gonna be made, I wanted it to be made like an anime made by Disney themselves. I also wanted Square Enix to have involvement with it too so they can help with it. I would also like to see it be made with Tetsuya Nomura's kinda designs. That is if it'll be hand drawn. And seeing as we already have drawings of the characters from Nomura, I don't see it being impossible.
How to Draw Sora from Kingdom Hearts in Step by Step Drawing ...
Having the correct designs like that could be cool if they make it hand drawn. On the other hand, I'd like to see Square Enix send Disney the programs for the characters if they make it C.G.I. And the reason I say that is because Disney and Pixar did the same thing when Square was making Kingdom Hearts 3 so they could get the models right. In terms of the voices, I can't imagine it being hard to get the Disney voices, though getting the voices for Sora, Kairi and Riku could be slightly harder. Or, at least Sora because Haley Joel Osment's voice sounds nothing like it did back in 2002, obviously, but David Gallagher does sound pretty similar so it would pretty easy to get him to reprise his voice for Riku and Alyson Stoner could redo her voice for Kairi, I don't see that being a problem either, but Sora, that could be kinda hard. And then, in terms of the story and seasons, I would say each season would cover each different game or something like that. And it's hard to say how long each episode would be. It would be cool if they took their time at the start because if they jump right into it, it might feel kinda rush. But at the same time, I imagine they wouldn't want to go through the game's plot exactly, not to mention the fact that scenes in the game and the way the games do some scenes would work in the games but not so much in an animated series. As far as the action scenes, I think they could be really creative like an anime, but how they'd work some of the crazy mechanics in the series and how it would work, especially the different Keyblade moves,  I don't see that actual mechanics from the games all working here, but some of the crazier moves could be really cool, but just so long as it works in regards to how the series would be done and how it's set up. And how they'd integrate some of the secret stuff from the game like secret bosses or extra scenes, I do kinda wonder how that would be done although I doubt they'd include those, it's more than likely that they'd just go with the story and that's it. I also don't see them including more Keyblades for Sora in each world. Like in the manga, they're just gonna leave him with the Kingdom Key. Again, like I said, I see some things in this working only in the games, but if they decide to make a show for Disney+, I do also see some things working well for series too if it's done well and it certainly is still something I would be interested in seeing too. And, yeah, those are my overall thoughts on it. And so, yeah, thank you all for reading and please comment down below to tell me what you think.

Yu Yu Hakusho (Anime Review)

So, continuing my newer series of anime reviews is one that I think is fairly underrated, Yu Yu Hakusho. I mean, a lot of people really like it and some people have even said it's their favourite anime ever. But, I don't think it's talked about enough. I really love Yu Yu Hakusho. I watched the whole series last year on YouTube and it was so good. I had heard about it from some people beforehand and I wanted to give it a shot, and I ended up loving it all. There are some problems with it, but, overall, it's amazing. Firstly, and this is something I feel I need to address, the manga of Yu Yu Hakusho was never released where I am. I mean, maybe it was before, but now I can't buy it anywhere. So, recently, I've been buying the volumes on Amazon and it's nice to have something like that in my anime and manga collection. And so, having it, it's cool to read it and look back on the story that I finished in terms of its anime. The manga of Yu Yu Hakusho started back in 1990 by Yoshihiro Togashi, who later went on to create Hunter X Hunter, around the time Dragon Ball was being made and something that kinda separates it from other manga is that it's really short. I was honestly really surprised to find out that there's only 19 volumes of it. So, the story focuses around a 14 year old named Yusuke Urameshi who's the biggest delinquent in his town, mainly due to having a neglectful mother, and, one day, after saving a kid from being run over, he finds himself being dead, but no one expected him to die and so, the underworld doesn't have a space for him. That's when he meets Botan who takes him to Koenma. They eventually manage to bring him back to life with the help of Yusuke's friend, Keiko. From there, Yusuke begins to fight demons as a Spirit Detective with his rival, Kuwabara. And they even manage to get two demons on their side, Hiei and Kurama. So, what I really love the most about the show is actually what I think a lot of people love Dragon Ball Z for, the overall layout of the story. I really love the pacing of the show and, unlike Dragon Ball Z, it never feels like the pacing is insanely slow, everything in the story just happens and it never sticks to something that long. Even the things it does stay at longer than others is really interesting. And the characters are a big help with how much I love the show. Out of all the characters, Hiei is favourite. He's by far the most interesting and awesome in my opinion. And the relationships that the characters have with each other makes it all the more fun to watch given how unique they all are. Usually in some cast in an anime, I can name some character that may not seem as relevant to the series as much as the others, but here, they're all so memorable and so unique that I can't say the same for this. I also did really care about the relationship between Yusuke and Keiko. Like, normally, I don't care that much about relationships in anime aside from a few, but the Yusuke and Keiko one is really well done because it's well written and I really like both characters. And I like how you can tell the animation is from the 90's, but it still feels really cool and gets unique and flashy in a lot of parts that it never gets distracting. The animation is also unique in the sense that it has some really impressive action scenes, some of the best from the 90's. And with the characters being unique, it helps with their fight scenes with their style of fighting. Like Yusuke's constant fist fights due to doing a bunch of street brawls as well as the Spirit Gun, or Kuwabara's attacks with his Spirit Sword. There's also Hiei's fights with his own sword along with his Jagan Eye and Dragon Of The Darkness Flame and then there's Kurama with his whip. Each fight feels awesome in that way because they all have different types of ways to fight. It's also really funny, some of the jokes in the series are laugh out loud funny, namely Yusuke's interactions with Koenma and Koenma's interaction with his assistant, Ogre. And there's also moments of really well earned emotion like with Genkai, Yusuke's mentor, who I already spoke about before and I still like because she's pretty different from other anime mentors who would be more loving or supportive. And while she does show that at time, she's a lot more of a harder mentor than others and she can act like a bigger jerk than Yusuke does. But she's still well written enough that she's still likeable, especially when we find out about her past with Toguro and then the emotional part with her comes when Toguro kills her. Given the relationship that Yusuke and Genkai had developed over the course of the series up until that point, it made it all the sadder. Speaking of which, that then leads to arguably the best part of the whole series, the Dark Tournament. As I said in my top 5 anime tournaments, this is definitely my favourite tournament in any anime. This arc has been praised by so many people and there's a good reason for that. So many amazing things happen in this and we get introduced to so many great characters. I love how it's presented with Yusuke, Kuwabara, Hiei, Kurama and Genkai teaming up for it with Koenma, Ogre, Botan, Keiko, Yukina and Shizuru watching. And I love all the new characters it introduces, especially Chu, I really like him. And this is where a lot of the best action scenes in the series are. The fact that they also have it where it's a bunch of greedy businessmen makes it all the more frustrating when we see how the whole thing is being rigged against them. That's something that's what's really great about a lot of anime. If they're able to make us like the characters and have these odds be stacked against them, it makes it all the more satisfying when they're able to go against what the greedy people are hoping for and just make them suffer for it and even more tragic and frustrating  when they get something thrown against them that makes them lose with everyone else around them thriving on their loss. I also really liked the introduction of the Spirit Beast earlier in the story but then it's brought back with Yusuke's being this cute like bird like creature named Puu. And, yeah, I know it's used as a joke at first when they all make fun of Yusuke for it, but then, later on, it's used for pretty big emotion when Yusuke is trying to keep Genkai's power inside him and he uses his emotion to help Puu to help with that. And then, in my opinion, the absolute best part of the series comes afterwards, the final fight of the Dark Tournament with Yusuke vs. Toguro. Just about every second of this is awesome with some really amazing moments. And then the rest of the series is cool too. Not as good, but there are a lot of really great moments throughout. The next big arc is the Chapter Black arc where we get introduced to Sensui, who used to be a Spirit Detective until he saw people torturing demons for fun and he decided to go rogue and have demons invade Earth. And this story arc has a lot of really great moments throughout and some really awesome fight scenes like Yusuke against an evil doctor in a hospital. There are a few things about it that feel a tiny bit meandering, but there's a lot of really great moments as well like the Yusuke vs. Hiei rematch as well as Yusuke vs. Sensui in Demon World and we see Yusuke's demon transformation because of Raizen. I've rewatched that scene on YouTube a lot and it's a great moment. It even gives Puu a great moment when he transforms into some big dragon-like creature. But then, and this is where the series begins to have problems is the ending. The Three Kings arc is something I'm really mixed on. For one, I will say the start of it is really good with it having a good setup, but then it begins to feel a bit disappointing towards the very end. The main problem with it is that it ends way too fast. It just kinda starts and ends really fast. I like everything with Raizen, he was really cool, but then it just kinda leaves everything it was building up just to have it end. I understand it ended because Yoshihiro Togashi was feeling kinda stressed and tired about doing these publications so he wanted to end it, but that still means the story kinda suffers due to that ending and it not feeling very complete and feels like it's still missing a proper finale. But, the ending still has some great moments. Like, I like the fight between Yusuke and Yomi or Hiei's time with Mukuro. That stuff was pretty cool, but the rest mostly just feels like padding. So, yeah, the ending of the series is kinda disappointing, but, honestly, I can totally forgive that because the rest of the series is just really good. And, even still, the ending isn't bad necessarily, just a bit of a let down, it still has some good moments. And the acting and dubbing in this is amazing. This honestly made me notice Justin Cook more with his amazing performance as Yusuke and this is probably my favourite Chuck Huber role with his performance as Hiei. I was actually really surprised when I found out Christopher Sabat played Kuwabara. And, like I said, a lot of these characters are really likeable and really cool. Yusuke himself, despite being presented as a trash talking delinquent is still super likeable and really, really cool. Even Hiei, even though he's just like Vegeta, still has a lot of layers about him that makes him feel unique and awesome, and, like I said, he's definitely my favourite character in the series. So, yeah, I totally get a lot of people's love for the series and I still think this is an anime I don't think is talked about enough. Something else that makes it better than most anime is that there's little to no filler. There's hardly any filler at all. I love that fact. There are one or two filler episodes, but the rest, despite being 112 episodes, are all cannon and are part of the main plot. This may actually be my favourite anime from the 90's. And I mean anime that started and ended in the 90's so One Piece doesn't count. I like it more than Dragon Ball Z honestly. I just really love this series and I had a really great time watching it and I can't wait to watch it again. So, yeah, if you're a fan of anime, you should totally see this. I really love it and it's probably up there with some of my favourite anime ever. And so, everyone, that's my review for Yu Yu Haksho. Thank you all for reading and please comment down below to tell me what you think.

Dragon Ball Super (Anime Review)

So, about three years ago, I did a bit of a series on this blog where I did anime reviews. The ones I did then were Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Death Note and so on. But, now that I've been watching more anime in recent years since then, I decided to do more of these. I know I've talked about these anime before, but I want to do proper reviews this time and just do what I did before. The ones I want to do this time are gonna be Dragon Ball Super, Yu Yu Hakusho, My Hero Academia and some others. And so, starting us off with that is the continuation of Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super. I started collecting the DVDs for the series about two years ago but I only recently started watching it because the last DVD came out here two months ago and I had a lot of other anime to watch as well. But as time went by, I also wanted to wait until I had all the DVDs to watch the whole thing from beginning to end and I finally finished it just last night. I mean, I had already seen the series in pieces on YouTube and I already knew how the series went and how it ended, but this was how I was able to watch the whole series from the start all the way to the end. And as a person who prefers to watch anime on DVD and binge a series, I think that helped with the experience a little bit. And so, as a person who's not the biggest fan of the series, but still loves a lot about it, I was sorta thinking a lot as I was watching it. In fact, a lot of my thoughts on the series are pretty similar to a lot of other peoples. And given the reputation it's gotten since it began, it's kinda interesting to think about how this show evolved. And this means I already knew how it opens up. The first 27 episodes are just redos of the Battle Of Gods and Resurrection F movies, which I do understand why they'd want to do that with them being integral to the plot with introducing Beerus, Whis and reintroducing Frieza into the series for the last part of the show, but it felt really unnecessary to do that, especially since the arcs themselves are way too long. The fight with Goku and Beerus, I feel, goes on for too long and the two arcs just go on for too long. Plus, do I even need to mention the main problem with those episodes? It's something so many people have talked about for a long time and people still haven't stopped talking about it. The animation. For some reason, the production schedule for the series was rushed which resulted in the infamous bad animation of those first few episodes. Especially Goku's fight against Beerus on King Kai's planet.
How good is the animation for Dragon Ball Super? - Quora
Even with the improvements of it for the DVDs, it still looked bad. And the whole thing just kinda annoyed me and bored me because I had seen the movies already and so this just felt like a waste of time to watch a version that was longer. Another problem is something that's a bit more subjective, but I'm not exactly a fan of Akira Toriyama's kind of humour. I like bits of his humour, but I'm not the biggest fan of his kinda comedy. So when they tried to have a lot of jokes in those first few episodes with Mr. Satan, who's honestly a character I've come to really not like, it just came across as more annoying than funny to me. Again, that's not to say I don't like any of his comedy, I do like parts of it, just not all of it. And so, yeah, I hadn't lost interest in the show yet at that point yet though because I knew the series got better as it went along. And, even if those first few episodes bored me and didn't interest me in the slightest, it still had a lot of the great characters I still love. And waiting for those arcs to finish pays off when we move onto Champa's tournament, which is where the series improves in both story and animation because we never had any of those problems again afterwards. Introducing the whole god concept in the Battle Of Gods movie already opened up the door to a lot of great ideas and this show takes full advantage of all of them considering we get a great story line with Champa's tournament and I like his dynamic with Beerus. I already really like the characters of Beerus and Whis, so having them being main characters in the series made it all the better. And the tournament between Universe 6 and 7 was also a great idea for many reasons. For one, it's a great concept with it making the universe of Dragon Ball bigger. And they introduce more awesome characters like Champa himself alongside Hit, Cabba and Frost. And so, having those characters meet with the action scenes they were imagining made it even better. Especially since a lot of them were really creative like Goku's fight against Hit with Hit's time skipping ability. And I really liked the end of it when they introduce Zeno.
Zeno | Dragon Ball Wiki | Fandom
I really love the character of Zeno. The idea for him is already cool, but the fact that he's the leader of everything and having Beerus and Champa terrified of him is hilarious. And Zeno himself is hilarious with being this almighty character but still having the mind and attitude of a little child. And I love Goku's interactions with him. It makes sense that Goku would be the one to actually befriend him with his own fun attitude. And I also enjoyed Vegeta's relationship with Cabba. Seeing as they're both Saiyans, it makes sense that Vegeta would be involved with him in some way. But I think the show really improves with the Zamasu and Goku Black story. I really enjoyed this arc. For one, it's cool they brought back Future Trunks and I really love the way this arc was put together. Myself personally, I never liked younger Trunks because I found him annoying, so having them bring back the more likeable version from the future was great. And I liked how the story was set up and the ideas it brings up as it keeps going. For one, the idea of an evil Goku-like character is cool with how Zamasu took Goku's body and I love the Goku and Vegeta fights against Goku Black and Zamasu. I'd say my favourite between them was either when Goku Black told Goku about how he took his body and killed Chi-Chi and Goten which makes Goku go nuts and attack the two of them or the one at the end with Goku and Vegeta becoming Vegito again and fighting Fused Zamasu.
Who would win, mutated merged Zamasu (Dragon Ball Super) or Vegito ...
And speaking of which, the ending is pretty awesome but then takes a disappointing turn. On the one hand, I liked how Trunks was the one to fight Zamasu at the end with how it felt really satisfying and how he used the power of everyone to make a huge energy sword. But then, and this is something I really disliked, it should have ended there. As soon as Trunks killed Zamasu with the sword, it should have ended there because then Zamasu appears as faces in the sky and kills almost everyone there which causes Goku to ask Zeno to help by erasing him. Especially given how Trunks wasn't all that important in Dragon Ball Z. He was first introduced and then he was kinda sidelined, so if they ended it there, it would have been perfect and Trunks would have had more relevance. I know in a lot of anime there's obviously gonna be filler. I actually skipped all the filler because I didn't want to waste my time with it. I knew what episodes were filler though like when Goten and Trunks stowed away on Jaco's ship and ended up on a planet where Vegeta was gonna disappear while some purple Vegeta fought Goku or the baseball episode with Beerus and Champa competing against each other. But the most infamous of them was with the Dr. Slump appeared again. But a more personal one I don't like are any episode revolving around Gohan being the Great Saiyaman. I've never liked that and every time Gohan does it, it always annoys me and makes his character more and more pathetic. Gohan himself is a character I haven't liked at all since the Cell Games Saga. Every appearance of him since then has just annoyed me. And, speaking of filler, a lot of them had moments where it made all the other characters seem either annoying or kinda unlikable like the whole thing with Bulma trying to get a wish from Shenron or Goku annoying Bulma trying to get Whis to train him. I'm not sure what everyone else's thoughts on these episodes, but me personally, they mostly annoyed me. And I mean the ones I saw in clips on YouTube and I didn't actually bother with watching them on the DVDs themselves. But then, the show really hits its peak with the Tournament Of Power, which is easily the most amazing part of the series and one of the best things to come from the Dragon Ball franchise. Firstly, I love how they brought back so many characters to compete for Universe 7 and they were all awesome choices. I love how they brought Tien and Roshi back because I already love those characters but then having Krillin in it along with Android 17 and 18 was even cooler, and I liked them a lot more here than in Z, especially 17, who had a lot of great moments. But even bringing Roshi was awesome since he also got a lot of cool moments and it was just really satisfying when he was fighting in the Tournament and made him relevant again after a long time. But then it was made even better with them including Frieza into the team as well. I've come to love Frieza a lot more as a villain and character recently and so, having him in the series again and fighting along Goku and the others was incredible. Seeing him as something of a good guy was great. Obviously, he wasn't, but I'm sure you all know what I mean if you've seen it. They were originally gonna have Buu on the team, but I'm glad they didn't because I much prefer the idea of Frieza instead of him. And the actual action scenes in the tournament were all amazing and having both Zeno's as observers made it really funny as well. And I like a lot of the new characters they introduced. Top was cool with him having the power of a Destroyer God and I really loved how he and Vegeta had that great fight. This was also the first time I liked Gohan again since the Cell Games as I was just saying and his team up with Piccolo was awesome. I love those two characters together and it was great to see them together throughout the whole tournament when they were there. I'm not entirely sure what everyone else's thoughts on Kale and Caulifla, but I thought they were pretty cool. Sure, Caulifla was kinda annoying with how arrogant she was acting, but her dynamic with Kale was kinda sweet and nice. And then, Jiren himself, I feel like I liked Jiren as a character more than some people with some people not liking him and thinking he was a terrible character or just a really boring character. But I quite liked him. He was really awesome and I loved Patrick Seitz's performance as him. All the stuff with him I really loved. And then as it got closer to the end, it just kept getting better and better with Goku unlocking Ultra Instinct. And all the stuff with Ultra Instinct, I don't know what words will do it justice. Given how popular it is, you all know how amazing it is. Everything with it from it's design and its theme just make it insanely awesome every time it's activated. And it's made even better when Goku finally masters it and just unleashes all of it on Jiren.
Who would win, Ultra Instinct Goku or Whis (full power)? - Quora
And all the other character's fights are great to watch too, especially since a lot of them had to use their heads to beat the other universes. Then, the final climax fight between Goku, Frieza and Andriod 17 against Jiren is probably my favourite Dragon Ball fight to date alongside Gogeta vs. Broly in the Dragon Ball Super Broly movie. And the actual ending with all of them going home and all the universes restored makes everything feel really satisfying. Also, back to the voices quickly, the Dragon Ball franchise continues to have awesome voice work. I'm never not gonna love Sean Schemmel as Goku, and all the rest are still amazing, especially Christopher Sabat as Vegeta and Piccolo and David Ayres as Frieza. So, all in all, the series definitely didn't have a great start and that beginning sorta meandered and was sort of a drag, but once we get through with that, the rest of show improves mostly. The later episodes have their problems but they're at least an improvement over the first 27 episodes. And, in terms of the episodes that are canon, I think this is great anime to binge watch, especially now with the Coronavirus going around and the quarantine, this is a good time to binge the show if you're a fan of the series. Binge watching  the show is what I did and it certainly made a lot of it more enjoyable. And skipping the filler episodes helped with that too. It's honestly kinda hard for me to judge which series I like more with this and Z because, like I said, I'm not the biggest Dragon Ball fan but I still love a lot about it and there was a lot in both Z and Super I love more than the other and it was fun to watch a lot of this as well and thinking about that. So, yeah, the show's not perfect, but it gives a lot that would make a Dragon Ball fun really happy. And so, everyone, those are my thoughts on Dragon Ball Super. Thank you all for reading and please comment down below to tell me what you think.

My top 5 Colleen Clinkenbeard anime performances

As I said before, Colleen Clinkenbeard has always been one of my favourite anime dub actors. She and Maile Flanagan are kinda tied for me in regards to my favourite anime actress. And given how Clinkenbeard has such a great track record with the roles she's done in anime, it's no wonder why she's so famous to so many anime fans. Like I said before, a lot of her characters are more tough characters with a bit of a soft side to them. Or they could be tough sounding male characters as well. And so, let's begin and I hope you all like this.
5. Gohan (Dragon Ball Z Kai):
See the source image
Starting us off is Gohan's second voice. Stephanie Nadolny was Gohan's voice in the original Dragon Ball Z, as well as kid Goku's, but in recent years, it's gone on to Colleen. Whenever Colleen does a voice for a boy, she uses the same voice for all of them. And so, whenever she uses it, it always reminds me of her voice for Luffy and so it always makes me think of him whenever I hear her use it for someone else. And the same goes well for Gohan. It's essentially a recreation of what Stephanie did with the original and I think she really pulls it off. And it's all the more fun to think of that Luffy aspect whenever Gohan is using a Kamehameha. But Colleen also does well with Gohan's other emotions and capturing his sense of innocence at the start and then his awesomeness towards the Cell Games Saga.
4. Erza (Fairy Tail):
See the source image
Next up is the first of the cool female characters Colleen's done. As one of, if not the toughest member of the Fairy Tail guild, Colleen gets to show off how strong she can make her characters. Erza is kinda feared by everyone in the guild with her huge arsenal of weapons and strong attitude. But something else that Colleen does really well with characters like Erza is she shows off vulnerability amazingly. Erza may be strong but she's still got vulnerable moments and Colleen does really well with all of her scenes.
3. Yaoyorozu (My Hero Academia):
See the source image
At number 3 is a role that I think is somewhat similar and different from her other tough lady roles because Yaomomo is a character who's different because she does show signs of being cool, but not as much as her other characters and she's a bit of a know-it-all. And, with her not being as tough or confident as other, she's still able to give off the impression of vulnerability, but still likeable all around.
2. Hawkeye (Fullmetal Alchemist):
See the source image
Coming in close to number 1 is Clinkenbeard toughest female role. While that would more likely go to Erza, I just personally prefer Hawkeye. Better known as Riza Hawkeye, this sniper was one of the many soldiers to fight in the Ishvalan Civil War and came back traumatised. She's also incredible supportive and protective of Mustang, which Clinkenbeard does really well. She's able to make a tough military character feel really likeable and strong but also really vulnerable as well.
And my number 1 favourite Colleen Clinkenbeard anime performance is... Luffy (One Piece):
See the source image
And finally at number 1 is Straw Hat Luffy. This should come as no surprise given how much I've praised her performance as Luffy before, but even more recently, I watched a One Piece movie I've never seen before, that being 3D 2Y, and she's still awesome as him. Being able to make her voice sound like a guy is one thing, but able to also capture all the fun, comedy, charisma and personality that makes Luffy such a great character is another thing entirely. Especially when a lot of Luffy's dialogue is mostly just a load of screaming. But, like I said, a good part of her performance is that she captures a lot of his charisma and that's already a great part about Luffy, but she still pulls off his epic moments while still having all his likeable aspects present the whole time. As well as just the fact that the voice is cool and fits him really well with it sounding like it grows up with Luffy himself. And, if they're gonna continue on with the dubbing of the One Piece anime soon, I can't wait to see her continue with this great performance of a great character. And all that is why Luffy is my favourite Colleen Clinkenbeard performance. And so, everyone, thank you all for reading and please comment down below to tell me what you think.

My top 5 tournaments in anime

One of the most popular story lines constantly used in anime is the tournament story. Ever since Dragon Ball introduced the concept of anime tournaments, a lot so many other anime have used this for their own stories and a lot of these can be some of the best parts of the series. And every time an anime does one, they always bring something new to the table which makes every one feel that much more unique. And it always excites me whenever I'm starting on an anime and it introduces a tournament arc. And so, let's begin and I hope you all like this.
5. Battle City (Yu-Gi-Oh!):
See the source image
Starting us off at number 5 is Kaiba's own tournament that he made to prove he's the greatest duelist ever. This was also around the time Marik was being introduced with the intention of defeating Yugi and taking all of the Egyptian God Cards. And there's a ton of duels with the Rare Hunters, the God Cards all being together, a rematch with Yugi and Kaiba, the fights between Mai, Joey and Yugi all against Marik.
4. The Chunin Exam (Naruto):
See the source image
At number 4 is the exam battles in Naruto. In the exams to judge the Genin to see if any of them would be promoted to Chunin, we got one awesome fight scene after another. The first bunch of matches happened inside the tower with the first amount of one-on-one battles like Naruto vs. Kiba or Lee vs. Gaara, but then things really got heated up when they went to the arena some time later. Here, we get to witness so many incredible action scenes like Naruto vs. Neji, Shikamaru vs. Temari and Sasuke vs. Gaara. The Naruto vs. Neji fight in particular was done to help Naruto change Neji's way of thinking which paid off in a huge way.
3. Tournament Of Power (Dragon Ball Super):
Dragon Ball Super: Piccolo Falls in the Tournament of Power | CBR
As I said, Dragon Ball was the series to introduce the idea of tournaments in anime and it's continued to have tons of tournaments in its runtime. And my favourite so far has been its most recent with the Tournament Of Power. After Goku convinces Zeno to have a tournament with all the universes, they get it set up with Universe 7 competitors consisting of Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Master Roshi, Android 17, 18, Tien and Frieza. And while teamwork wasn't exactly consistant throughout the whole thing, they still managed to do really well with so many amazing moments throughout like Goku vs. Kefla, Vegeta vs. Toppo, Gohan and Frieza teaming up against Frost, Master Roshi vs. Ganos, Goku achieving Ultra Instinct and fighting Jiren and the climatic fight between Goku, Frieza and Android 17 vs. Jiren.
2. U.A Sports Festival (My Hero Academia):
See the source image
Coming in close to number 1 is My Hero Academia's early tournament arc with U.A, the sports festival. The first part of it are events like a race with all the students, then they all had to do a tag team event with getting points with headbands. And the final, and by far the best part, is the one-on-one battles. These consist of Uraraka vs. Kacchan, Ida vs. Hatsume and then Deku vs. Todoroki. By far one of the most gorgeous looking battles I've seen in a long time, the Deku vs. Todoroki fight is everything you could want as an anime fight. Not only is Deku trying to win, but he's also trying to convince Todoroki that his fire ability is his and not his dad's. And then the final clash between the two of them is one of coolest finishes I've seen in an anime fight.
Honourable mentions:
Vaizel Fight Festival (The Seven Deadly Sins),
Heaven's Arena (Hunter X Hunter),
The Grand Magic Games (Fairy Tail),
23rd Tenkaichi Budokai (Dragon Ball)
And my number 1 favourite tournament in anime is... The Dark Tournament (Yu Yu Hakusho):
See the source image
And finally at number 1 is probably the most popular tournament in anime, Yu Yu Hakusho's Dark Tournament. Probably the most popular tournament in anime history, this is exactly what every tournament arc in anime should be like. Some of the best moments, not just in this series, but some of the best moments I've seen in an anime is all here. With Yusuke fighting and then befriending Team Rokuyukai, especially Chu, Hiei unleashing the Dragon Of The Darkness Flame, Kurama taking his true form, the creation of Puu, Genkai giving Yusuke her power, the reveal of Genkai's past with Toguro and then Toguro killing her and then the final fight between Yusuke and Toguro, which might actually be my favourite anime tournament fight ever. And throughout all that, there's a whole bunch of awesome moments and great character moments too. And all that is why the Dark Tournament is my favourite tournament arc in anime. And so, everyone, thank you all for reading and please comment down below to tell me what you think.

My favourite anime series movies

Given how so many anime series have had non canon movies made about them, I decided to talk about different ones I've seen and I'm gonna pick one movie per series and talk about why I like it. Also, I've talked about some of these already, so I'll make those ones in particular a bit shorter than the others. Also, like every list I make, though I'm bringing up here, this clearly gonna be more subjective than most others because I know a lot of fans of these series have different favourites when it comes to these. But, yeah, this is gonna be opinion based like always, though, maybe a bit more than usual. Anyway, let's get into it and I hope you all like this.
Naruto: Naruto Shippuden The Movie: Blood Prison:
See the source image
All right, so, this is the most obvious when I said how I was gonna talk about anime movies I've mentioned before, so you can just look at my ranking of the Naruto movies to see why I like this movie, but, overall, I just think it's the most entertaining of all the Naruto films and I always enjoy it whenever I watch it. It's got the usual amazing Naruto animation, awesome fight scenes and some of the most brutal scenes in the series so far.
One Piece: One Piece: Gold:
See the source image
This one was a bit of tossup for One Piece because I was sorta trying to choose between this and One Piece: Stampede that came out earlier this year, which was actually the first time ever I saw an anime movie in the cinema, so personally, that was cool for me. But I decided to go with Gold because I feel like I just preferred it more. When the Straw Hats arrive on some huge ship belonging to someone named Gild Tesoro who tries to keep them all there working for him. But he also has the power of the Gold-Gold Fruit. And so, the fact that the majority of the movie is surrounded in gold, it makes looking at it really nice. And the plot when we get into the real adventure and the ideas that they introduce here reminds me exactly why I love the series of One Piece and why Oda is a genius at storytelling.
Dragon Ball: Dragon Ball Super: Broly:
See the source image
Dragon Ball has had a lot of movies over the years, but I think most people will agree that the best one is by far the most recent one with Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Broly was never a character that was canon before this movie. He was in three before this but they were bad. And since they were never canon, they were able to refresh the character completely and make it so that he is canon now. And the fact that this takes place after the Tournament Of Power makes it better with Goku and Vegeta being stronger than they were in any other movies. It was also nice to see that they reintroduced Gogeta and made that Goku and Vegeta fusion dance canon too. And it has some of the best action scenes and comedy I've seen in Dragon Ball, as well as the best animation I've seen in it.
Bleach: Bleach: Diamond Dust Rebellion:
See the source image
Next to the Blood Prison movie for Naruto, this is a similar case, in the sense that I already spoke about this when I ranked all the Bleach movies, so check that out if you haven't to get my overall thoughts on it. But this is the Bleach movie that always gives me the most enjoyment out of any of them. I really like following the story of this movie and following the characters around it is just a lot of fun because I think it's just really well written.
Yu-Gi-Oh!: Yu-Gi-Oh: The Movie:
See the source image
This is currently the only Yu-Gi-Oh movie I've see, although I really want to see Bonds Beyond Time and Shattered Dimensions. But, so far, this is the only one. And, as the only one, I really liked this when I was younger, nowadays, I haven't seen it in a while, but I still remember it and remember thinking it was really cool. And, even though it's more than likely just non canon, there are some aspects to it that I like to think could be canon, especially the whole Anubis aspect to it.
My Hero Academia: My Hero Academia: Two Heroes:
See the source image
Like what I said for Yu-Gi-Oh, this is the only one of the two My Hero Academia movies I've seen even though Heroes Rising came out a couple of months ago too. I'm hoping that that one comes out on DVD soon too. That's how I saw this one. And watching this movie kinda helped remind me what I like a lot about movies based on anime, having the characters going to a new place and meeting new characters and befriending them. I know it's technically non canon, but the idea of it is still cool and I like when a lot of them do it. And the movie is thankfully really good too. I do have some problems with it, but, overall, I like how the characters get to where they are and I like the situation they're put in in terms of what they were planning and what happens in it. There are some points in it that are a bit predictable and don't make that much sense, but I find the rest of the movie, namely Deku's interactions with the new girl of the movie, Melissa.
Fairy Tail: Fairy Tail: Dragon Cry:
See the source image
So, so far there's only been two movies for Fairy Tail, which I have seen, and I'm not sure whether or not there'll be more, but for the two we do have, I like Dragon Cry more. I mean, neither of them are particularly exceptional or anything, but I find it pretty entertaining. I like the idea of the Dragon Cry staff and the huge fight at the end with it and Natsu. And the rest of the movie has some good moments too. I don't have that much to say about either of the Fairy Tail movies aside from they're just fine. (On a side note, I've personally kinda lost some interest in Fairy Tail. If you all remember, I really loved it a few years ago, but, I think ever since I started watching One Piece or something, I've lost some interest in it. Nowadays, I think it's just good. Not amazing or anything, but good nonetheless. So if any of you are wondering why I'm not praising it as much as I used to, that's why.)
Pokémon: Pokémon: Lucario And The Mystery Of Mew:
See the source image
And finishing us off is one of the many Pokémon movies, Lucario And The Mystery Of Mew. I know a lot of people would choose something else over this, but I remember watching this on TV one day and a couple of months ago, I went online and watched it again and I still like it. I like the idea of Lucario, I think he's a pretty cool Pokémon and I like the adventure that Ash the others go on with him. Especially the ending. I really like a lot of things about the ending inside the Tree Of Beginning. And it's kinda bitter sweet at the end when Lucario fades away. I do also like some other Pokémon movie, especially the first one, but Lucario And The Mystery Of Mew is probably my favourite of them all. And the whole story with Lucario and his master Aaron is pretty interesting too. Again, the eventual discovery of the whole thing at the end is really cool to me. And I like the bond that Ash and Lucario create throughout the movie too. Like I said before, I really love it when anime movies create new characters that the main characters befriend and are able to have them trust them. It's just a really fun movie for me to watch. And so, everyone, those are my favourite anime series movies. I hope you all liked this and please comment down below to tell me what you think.

My top 5 anime idiots

Probably one of the most clichés in anime is the dumb protagonist. It's something that's become really common for a long time now and some are definitely stupider than others. And so, I'm gonna use this post to talk about those. Given how I did one for cartoon characters, I decided to do one for anime, and, more specifically, anime protagonists. A lot of these characters can be some of the most enjoyable characters in their series or in anime history with how well-written they are and so on and so, their stupidity adds to the charm and makes them even more fun. And so, let's begin and I hope you all like this.
5. Saitama (One-Punch Man):
See the source image
Starting us off at number 5 is the strongest hero in the One-Punch Man world, the caped baldy, Saitama. Practically the strongest character in this series is also pretty dumb in terms of general intelligence and knowing what's going on around him. Whether it's barely passing the hero exam or thinking that supermarket deals are more important than giant monsters attacking, he's probably the most oblivious anime protagonist you'll see.
4. Asta (Black Clover):
See the source image
Okay, so, this is an anime I only just got into recently, and, quick thoughts on Black Clover, it's very standard Shonen with being very formulaic and very generic with how similar to other anime it is. It's pacing is kinda sloppy and a lot of the relationships and things like that are kinda outta nowhere and a lot of the characters aren't very memorable. It's fine the way it is and I'm hoping to get more episodes done eventually because I'm only 40 episodes in. And as for Asta himself, he's kind of a combination of Naruto, Boruto, Luffy, Natsu and a little of Deku all rolled into one. And his stupidity is a lot like a lot of theirs. Whether it's acting like a dope around people or making a fool of himself. And he can't even tell the obviousness of when someone clearly is crushing on him.
3. Natsu (Fairy Tail):
See the source image
At number 3 is Fairy Tail's Fire Dragon Slayer, Natsu. While he may be able to do well in fights a lot of the time, his real decisions in real world situations are usually ones that leave him or any of his friends in trouble. And even a good amount of people around him know that and try to make sure he doesn't do something dumb.
2. Goku (Dragon Ball):
See the source image
Coming in close to number 1 is the anime character to start the line of dumb anime protagonists, Goku. Easily the most iconic anime protagonist of all time, this lovable nimrod has some strange examples of what his intelligence is. Because, in terms of martial arts and discipline, he's incredibly smart, but in terms of everything else, there's almost no one stupider. A lot of this could be because of hitting his head when he was a baby and not having anyone to teach him anything after his grandpa died. This is further exemplified in Dragon Ball: Super when he really only just cared about fighting and not much else. But he also doesn't know how babies are made, he sends his own son to fight Cell before giving Cell a Senzu Bean and giving Frieza time to power up even while Namek was exploding all around him.
And the number 1 anime idiot is... Luffy (One Piece):
See the source image
And finally at number 1 is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates, Monkey D. Luffy. Say what you will about his nonstop ambition and loyalty and genius in terms of fighting and inventing new ways to use his Devil Fruit, his knowledge about the rest of the world is not as well thought out. With barely understanding anything about how the world really works, as well as his constant dumb decisions in dire situations, his way of life is always as simple as it can be. He even makes it a point to just punch his way out of every situation. Even most people he meets and his crew knows he's a twit, but are still drawn to him due to his charisma. Whether he's being duped by his opponents, thinking of whatever plan to get somewhere, accidentally hurting his friends, blowing off a whole bunch of money or anything like that, you can bet Luffy will think, or not think, of whatever dumb thing imaginable. And, yeah, I may love Luffy, but his stupidity is one of his best aspects and one of the things that makes him so likeable. And all that is why Luffy is my pick for the number 1 anime idiot. And so, everyone, those are my picks for my top 5 anime idiots. Thank you all for reading and please comment down below to tell me what you think.

The Mandalorian: Season 1

All right, so, I know this is super late for this review, but, where I am, the final episode for this show just dropped today and I was finally able to finish this show. Just wanted that to be the first thing I said before I said anything else here. So, the Mandalorian is a Disney+ original show that started last year and finished last year but, where I am, Disney+ and this show's final episode arrived much later. This show is a new Disney created Star Wars property created by Jon Favreau. If you saw my review for The Rise Of Skywalker a few months ago, you know that I really didn't like that movie and thought Disney ended the sequel trilogy of Star Wars really poorly. But this show interested me. For one thing, it's something Star Wars related on Disney+, so that already got me excited, but the main thing that interested me was people's thoughts on it and saying it was really good. So, I had a lot of anticipation for this. And, in the end, I loved the show, I loved almost everything with it and it was so good. Also, since the series has been out for a while, I'm going full spoilers for the whole first season. The show is about a wandering bounty hunter called the Mandalorian, played by Pedro Pascal, who's a guy who doesn't say much, but is one of the best around. That is until he's given one specific job to find something and bring it back to these imperials. This something ends up being something that everyone who's seen the show is calling "Baby Yoda"...
See the source image
And Baby Yoda is a character who saves him at one point, so after this, he begins to rethink whether or not he should hand it over. He's also a person who's very committed to the creed of the Mandalorians. Always have a helmet on and never disgrace a job. But now that he's helping to repay Baby Yoda, it's still okay. So, the rest of the show is him on the run from the imperials as well as going from job to job while still trying to care for and protect Baby Yoda. And a lot of the greatness of this show is carried by Pedro Pascal. I've never seen him in anything else before, but he's awesome. Like I said, we never see his face until the very, very end in the last episode, so a lot of the show is him going from place to place and even encountering different people that he helps out either because he needs the work or he'll just help out wherever he can. And the fact that a lot of the show is centred on him not talking much, he's required to do a lot of body language, which he nails. The show is also just really well made. Almost all the directors did an amazing job and it's really well shot with some really gorgeous scenery. It's also got some really funny moments and it almost felt like they were making fun of a lot of people's complaint about the series of Star Wars and acknowledged them like how clone and storm troopers are terrible shots, which was great, especially in the last episode. And, like I said, the directors chosen for the series were almost all perfect. Some of them were even directors I've heard about before but never seen like Deborah Chow and Rick Famuyiwa. Both did great jobs with directing their episodes and the rest were all great too. I will say though, the one episode I didn't really like all that much was episode 5. To me, that episode was kinda boring, the dialogue and acting was kinda weak and it was mostly a drag for me. But the show really picked up after that. But I still loved all the episodes before it too. And the show had some interesting ideas to explore Mando's past like showing him as a child every so often running away with his parents who were killed by droids. And they have him encounter some old people he used to know, especially in episode 6. The action is also really well handled with being really creative and kinda brutal. I'd say it was at its best in episode 1 and the final episode. Something else that, I don't know what others think about but is cool to me, is the fact that Jon Favreau did create this, so someone who's worked in the M.C.U is now working in Star Wars all under Disney. Favreau himself is already an amazing filmmaker and so, having him in control of all this was a genius move and he's really knocked it out of the park with this. I also really liked Gina Carano, Nick Nolte and Carl Weathers as Cara Dune, Kuiil and Greff Karga. All three of them, especially Cara, were super likeable and really cool. And I loved Baby Yoda too. As you'd imagine, he was super adorable and really funny but also really heartfelt. Taika Waititi directed the last episode which might have been my favourite. A lot of really great moments are in this episode alone with some really awesome action. Especially one scene involving the IG-11 droid on a speeder just going around and blasting troopers. That was really awesome and then we actually got to see the Mandalorian's face after he got injured and when the droid tried to help him. Again, I haven't seen Pedro Pascal at all in anything before this, so, personally, that was really cool. I even stayed away from all photos of him to not be ruined. And the action scene afterwards with that one other Mandalorian fighting those other troopers was really cool and brutal. I really loved the part where she throws that one trooper into that furnace. Taika Waititi himself actually voiced the IG droid and seeing him sacrifice himself by going into the lava and blowing up those troopers was also really crushing to me. And, at the end, we see that Moth Gideon, the villain of the last episode, actually has a Darksaber from the Clone Wars series.
See the source image
And all those came together to make a really great finale and a really great show. We even got a setup at the end where The Mandalorian is gonna try to find out where Baby Yoda is from and try to return it there. So, at the end here, The Mandalorian: Season 1 was really, really good. Disney may have made a mishap when it came to making the sequel trilogy not end on a high note, but they definitely made up for it with this and I really, really can't wait for more. The fact that they're making a sequel season to this is one thing, but they're gonna be more Disney+ shows like Kenobi. I'm sure once the Coronavirus is gone, they'll get back to making those, but, at the moment, this show is fantastic and I can't wait for more. And so, everyone, that's my review of Season 1 of the Mandalorian. I hope all of you have seen it, and, if not, you really should. And so, everyone, thank you all for reading, I hope you all liked it and please comment down below to tell me what you think.
