Spider-Man 3

I can't begin to start the amount of people who said Spider-Man 3 when it first came out. People just thought it was bad with embarrassing scenes, waste of characters and too many scenes that were unnecessary. And while I don't really hate or think it's as bad as everyone else says it is, I do kind of agree with the but not really that much. What's the story? New York is all peaceful and quiet ever since Doc Ock and now Peter is able to till be a hero while still continuing his life. One night Harry attacks him because he thinks he killed his father and he finds out he's Spider-Man in the second film. Peter knocks him out which gives Harry amnesia which makes him forget about everything about him thinking that Peter killed Norman. Meanwhile, Flint Marko played by "Thomas Haden Church" has escaped from prison and has been turned into "Sandman." Peter finds out it was him who killed his uncle Ben and is out for revenge. Also a meteor crashes down to the planet and releases a goo called the "Symbiote Goo"  which attaches itself to Peter making him the black suited Spider-Man and changing his personality, and yeah I'll give my thoughts on that in a few minutes. Eventually he tries to get rid of it but it finds itself taking over someone else "Eddie Brock" played by "Topher Grace" turning him into the villain "Venom." So what's good about this movie? Well the effects are really impressive especially the fight scenes and effects on Venom look great, the sharp teeth, the gooey black skin and while he did look scrawny he still looked great. And also the story is really easy to follow. Now let's get to my problems with the movie and yeah, they're really big problems. While Venom did look great on screen he was given very little screen time which is a big rip off especially he's the number 1 thing people wanted to see. And let's get to the absolute worst problem of all "Emo Peter." Yeah, you knew it was coming, Emo Peter has to be the most hated Spider-Man thing of all time. And I'd be lying if I said I didn't know why. I mean everyone knows the story in the comics. Peter is supposed to be torchered  by the suit, the same way Gollum or Frodo were in the Lord of the Rings. It's one of those tragic attractions that just kept killing him, and it was a good. While there it was tragic, here it's comedy. And it's just embarrassing to watch. This is pushing it. If they went for a more serious route this movie could of been more effective, but when you see him dancing and acting so goofy, it's hard to get sucked into the torment he's supposed to be feeling. And even when he starts acting all mean and crazy it doesn't feel very believable. Except maybe the stuff with the Sandman, but that's identifiable, he killed his uncle. But let's get to my biggest problem with the movie, the dance scene. Yeah I may like this movie but anyone can tell you that this is the dumbest thing ever. It break the movie, it changes everything, it sucks out any amount of seriousness you were going for. I don't even think Spongebob or Chowder would be this silly. For many this is what killed Spider-Man for them, this was the step that went too far, they just couldn't understand how Spider-Man could go that deep with silliness. So yeah I've ridiculed this movie enough, so you must think I don't like this film, well no, I still do like it, it's just that it's just not the best Spider-Man. If you want to I guess you want, you could watch it, but you're tired of so much silliness and you think it might be too embarrassing to watch, then I'd say skip it.
