6. Iron Fist: Season 1:
Starting us off is easily the weakest of all these shows, Iron Fist, which came out early this year. This isn't really a surprise for anyone. While I didn't hate Iron Fist like everyone, I don't know if I can say I really liked the whole show. I liked parts of it, some performances, some action scenes and some episodes, but most of the show is a mess with some really boring scenes, like the business stuff and even some bad performances. Finn Jones, I don't think did that bad in this, especially since the main problem for him in this show was the writing for Danny. Thankfully, some other performances and relationships kept the show from being awful. Still a mess though and definitely the weakest thing in the M.C.U. Hopefully Season 2 will be better.
5. Luke Cage: Season 1:
Now we get into the shows I loved and starting us off is Luke Cage: Season 1. When Mike Colter was original Luke Cage in Jessica Jones: Season 1, I loved him as the character and I couldn't wait to see more of him. And thankfully they pulled it off with making an awesome show with an extremely likeable lead. There was also great twists along the way and they managed to surprise you in the show too because, if you've seen the show, then you know that they did something that made you really surprised and it made the plot completely unpredictable. It was also really sad as well like when Pops dies or the ending when he's taken away. And the tie-ins they do with the M.C.U is interesting with Justin Hammer. And, really, exploring this guy's humanity and the tragedy of his past is really interesting and I think it's what makes the show for me. Especially the other ties as well like how Claire mentions Matt quite a few times.
4. Daredevil: Season 2:
Next up is the sequel season to Daredevil. After a great start with the first season, Marvel managed to do it again with the second season with introducing new characters to the M.C.U like the Punisher and Elektra. It also introduced the Hand, which is this entire show's technical main antagonist. This entire organisation. And pretty much everything involving the Punisher I love and I can't for his own show later this year. Everyone from the returning cast is great and the new ones are just as good too. Plus, they managed to make it super interesting again with this being a sort of character driven show.
3. Jessica Jones: Season 1:
I actually didn't know anything about Jessica Jones from the comics before I started watching this show and I think that that was a good thing because the more and more I watched the show, I was surprised more and more the farther I went into the show. And what really surprised me the most is that it didn't feel like a comic book show. Sure it had superhero stuff in it, but it was really an interesting character drama. The story and characters were so intriguing and fascinating in the show. The characters were also really likeable despite some of their actions. I did really like them like Jessica herself, Trish, Malcom and even Simpson. And Kilgrave was an amazing villain. I mainly liked the show because it was a super interesting show.
2. Daredevil: Season 1:
The one that started it all, Daredevil: Season 1 was the show that introduced us to this darker and grounded corner of the M.C.U and it did fantastically. After the disaster that was the 2003 Daredevil movie, Marvel and Netflix made a 13 episode long show that reimagined the character in a new way and did it fantastically. Charlie Cox was sort of an unknown actor before he was cast as the character, but this performance has made him into one of the best superhero choices of all time. And I personally love the character of Matt Murdock/Daredevil. And this show helped make Daredevil one of my favourite superheroes of all time. With amazing performances and characters throughout the entire show, especially Vincent D'Onofrio as Kingpin, Daredevil was awesome. And I can't wait for more.
1. The Defenders: Season 1:
And finally at number 1 is the newest and most recent show. This show was the combination of everything that this darker corner of the M.C.U was building up to and I was super excited for it ever since I first heard of it. And thankfully, it didn't disappoint at all. Most of you are probably gonna disagree with me on this because some of these other shows are probably better and better made, but this is the one I've personally loved and enjoyed the most. I mean, this was Netflix version of the Avengers and it was so cool to see. Seeing heroes you've grown to love for so long coming together for first time, that's such a cool thing to see. It was awesome when we saw it in the first Avengers movie, it'll be cool to see the Avengers meet the Guardians of the Galaxy, hopefully it'll be cool when we see the Justice League later on this year, and it was really cool here. This show's best part was the interactions and seeing, not just the four main heroes meeting, but also all the other side characters from the shows as well. Seeing them all together like this is just as exciting as seeing the Avengers together for the first time.
And it had amazing acting from everyone. And like I said, the interactions were the best part of this, like I especially said in my review. Like Matt interacting with Jessica and Luke interacting with Danny. It was funny with a lot of it and I loved every second of it. Also, seeing Daredevil in his suit for the first time in the show when he saves Jessica is so cool. Speaking of Daredevil, assuming you have seen the show by now, in case you haven't, this will be a spoiler, be warned, but, I liked the ending of the Defenders when we see Matt being saved and I'm pretty sure they're going to do the Daredevil: Born Again storyline for the third season of Daredevil. This is my favourite Daredevil story.
From what we saw there, and especially now that Kingpin knows who Matt is as we saw from that one episode in Season 2, I think that it's absolute that they're going to do that. I think the other problem I have with it, along with the ones I already spoke about, is that the whole Elektra thing reminding me so much of Bucky in Captain America the Winter Soldier. Even down to little bits of dialogue. Which is kinda weird considering they're from the same universe.
But, besides that, I think the Defenders is one of my favourite pieces of superhero entertainment ever. I can't wait 'til Season: 2 and I hope they bring in new heroes for it. I think I still want the heroes I said I wanted last year, especially Moon Knight. I think he would be awesome to do. And so everyone, those are the 6 M.C.U Netflix shows ranked. Thank you all for reading and please comment down below to tell me what you think or tell me how'd you rank them.
