10. Squilliam:
Starting us off is the arch rival of Squidward, Squilliam Fancyson. Kind of an underrated character in my opinion, I think he's a entertaining character. His interactions with Squidward and his constant taunts to him about how much better he is are all great and I especially like how it's him that made Squidward put together the band for the Bubble Bowl. I also like how he's made more frequent appearances in the show which means we get more interactions off the two of them. I just love him and think he's a great rival for Squidward.
9. Karen:
8. Plankton:
Speaking of Plankton, here he is at number 8. This tiny pipsqueak villain is the business rival, sorta, of Mr. Krabs. They grew up together and became friends, but after a separation between the two of them over a burger recipe and Mr. Krabs making the better one, Plankton has devoted his life to stealing the formula so the Chum Bucket will outdo the Krusty Krab. Stubborn and beyond hilarious, this microscopic baddy will stop at nothing until he reaches his goal even after all these years.
7. Squidward:
At number 7 is quite possibly the most unhappiest creature under water, Squidward Q. Tentacles. This big nosed squid is the next door neighbour of SpongeBob and Patrick, but, boy, does he not find one bit of satisfaction as that or SpongeBob's co-worker. He's also known for being selfish, lazy, mean and a horrific clarinet player.
6. Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy:
These two senile old retired superheroes are SpongeBob's version of Batman and Robin. Either being actual superheroes before or TV show stars, one thing's for sure, they sure hate evil. Being absolutely hilarious aspects to the show with them being so old, especially Mermaid Man, they never cease to be fully entertaining and great additions to the show as SpongeBob and Patrick's idols and real heroes.
5. Gary:
At number 5 is SpongeBob's pet snail. Possibly the best snail ever, Gary is more than just a regular pet who only says one word... "meow."
Also being intelligent as seen in his dreams, he's even helped SpongeBob on a few occasions and has proven to definitely be the cutest thing with a shell. And, ya gotta feel sorry for him whenever anything bad happens to him.
4. Sandy:
SpongeBob's smart and strong friend, and maybe even love interest, Sandy is at number 4. Being from Texas and being a squirrel, she loves nuts and science. She especially loves karate and sparing with SpongeBob. She's also got the strength of practically Superman and will always talk about science in whatever way she can.
3. Mr. Krabs:
Next up is SpongeBob's greedy, yet likable and hilarious boss. (At least in season 1-3.) This crab has only two thing he loves in life the most, his daughter Pearl and, of course, money. Oh, yes, money.
2. Patrick:
At close to number 1 SpongeBob's best friend, Patrick Star. Easily the dumbest thing under water, Patrick has a brain the size of a tiny pebble. If anyone were to tell him anything long, this is what will happen.
He has some of the best lines in the entire show and he never gets annoying in the first three seasons. And, of course, there's that famous line that he has that describes his intelligence in a nutshell.
And my number 1 favourite SpongeBob Squarepants character is... SpongeBob:
Was there any doubt? Of course the central character was the best. This fun loving optimist sea sponge has become one of the most famous cartoon characters of all time. Being so full of dreams and positivity, there's no wonder why every SpongeBob fan admires him so much. He's also one of my favourite characters of all time. And, who can forget that eager face of his?
Did you know that Spongebob was actually based off of on a dream the lead producer had of the asylum demon from Dark Souls?
