Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas
So now we move onto maybe the most despised Disney duo sequels. I say duo because there's this and also Belle's Magical World, which is most likely the number 1 or second most hated Disney sequel. But we'll get to that later. This movie is sort of a prequel to the original, sorta, where we see Belle at the palace when the prince is still the Beast. And it's Christmas time now. But it turns out the Beast hates Christmas, of course, because Christmas was the same day he was transformed by the enchantress. And to make things worse, there's this villain who's an organ who was also transformed like he was. And he wants the Beast to play him forever and he'll stay away from everyone. So while Belle is trying to bring Christmas joy to the palace, Beast is being manipulated by the organ. There's also this living angel ornament named Angelique who also hates because she feels it brings nothing but sorrow. So, sorta along the same lines as most of these sequels, this movie's budget is definitely cut less than the original so we sorta have to take the animation we're given. And, in terms of the animation, it's actually pretty nice. The colours are nice to look at and, while nothing really special or fantastic like Lion King 2or something, it's fine. Especially the organ. He looks so cool. He's all C.G.I, but sorta fits and looks cool. They even know how to properly animate snow and things like that. Aside from that though, there's not much to talk about. The characters are so bland in this and the songs don't sound right at all or don't feel like they had enough time to be finished or properly be songs. A lot of things in this are also nonsensical like the climax against the organ. Which doesn't make any sense where it tries to destroy the castle. That is so stupid. Especially the way it's done.
Come on, it's a sequel to the original Beauty and the Beast movie. One of the most beloved Disney Classics ever and the first animated movie to be nominated for Best Picture. You'd think they make something better than this. The same especially goes for the next one in particular. But, really what do you expect from a movie like this? Sure there are Disney straight to video sequels that are good, but at least they're entertaining and fun to watch. The majority like this are just better left forgotten. So yeah, has a couple things that shine, the rest is stuff to make this an easy skip in my opinion. Again, sorry this is kinda short but there really isn't much to say, it's just the kinda movie you'd expect. Dumb and not worth your time.
